Welcome. It is time now for community connection right here on k the one you trust, and I am joined with a Champagne king and she is a here from Crying County Tech Foundation. Yes, sir, put the lot Foundation in there because foundation has been busy. How you been. It's been a while since I've seen you. It has been a while, and we've been busy. We just wrapped up our end of the year reporting and now we're kicking off our awards and acknowledgment campaign and then we'll be rolling into a golf
campaign soon. Well, how are we doing with all this? Wow? Great, it has been. It's been great. So we're actually celebrating our fifty fifth anniversary this year, which is exciting. So Tri County was built in nineteen sixty seven and then we were established in nineteen sixty nine, so
we're coming into our fifty fifth year. And originally we were established to support our nursing students, and over time we now support all students you need tuition assistance, food assistants, or emergency aid, but our nursing students still continue
to be the largest population we serve. Indeed, you know this is great when students attend Tri County Tech. One of the big I think selling points is one, it's a fantastic institution for learning, but two, you're not going to walk away with a truckloaded debt when you finish up school there thanks to the work of the foundation and just how everything has been put together to
make it work well for everyone. That's right. So the point of Tri County Tech is for it to be sort of some short term classes and to leave with a certification or some sort of credentials so we can get you to work. Our high school students attend for free, subsidized by taxes, and then our adult students by tuition, and if they apply for assistance and qualify, they get up to a two third scholarship from the foundation. So yeah,
we're there to support them. So you've been busy awarding different entities, different things, and also accepting gifts and donations to sure. Yes, we're happy to always accept gifts. Nice bots lit up on hell. Well, you know that's great because there are always people who are ready to give in our community, which is fantastic, and many of them they stink it's okay, you don't put a name to it. We're good and that's another cool thing too. Sure, there's lots of ways to give. We accept online
payments and we in person by mail. We're really starting to promote planned giving, which is three or four oh one K or your IRA or you can do that all kinds of different stocks gifts. We've received the stock gifts recently, so there. You can name us in your will or a state plan. You can name us as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy. There's lots of ways to give to us. It doesn't have to necessarily be out
of your pocket. One of the things that people are doing if they can is a thing called an endowment, and I understand that that works pretty well too. Endowments are essential for track these growth and stability. We'll try County
Tech Foundations growth and stability. So you would donate a principal amount of money that we would put then into an endowment fund at the Bartasoo Community Foundation, and then we just pull the interest earned off of that to award a scholarship to a student every year, so that could go on potentially wherever in perpetuity. As long as the foundation is here, we are able to awarden a scholarship in your name to students and mean, so that's pretty darn good.
Yes, So what's the main focus right now is we're sitting here right now, summer begins. Summer begins. So as I said, we just had Try County Tech just had graduation, so we got a lot of students out the door. Then there are a few students that have programs that start in this summer, but mostly we'll kick off in August and that's we'll start awarding all of our scholarships again to students as they come in and then those are
paid at the semester. But we are trying to raise money so that we can give those scholarships out by hosting our second annual golf tournament, which is coming up this fall. Let's talk about that because you did the first annual All tournament last year, and I understand that worked out really well. It was a huge success. We were extremely proud of how well it went off, and we raised a little over thirty eight thousand dollars, which provided twenty
one scholarships to full time students. Wonderful, and it was very well received. We received a lot of feedback from our sponsors and our teams about how much fun it was It was just a nice tournament that included lunch, that included your mulligans. There were any gimmick holes. You just got to go out and play nice round of golf at Hillcrest Country Club. And so we're going to do that again this year on October fourth. No stress, just fun, just fun, fun swinging for students is what we call it.
See what you did there. I like that from the help of our marketing department, and you know, it seems like it's really good because you know, you always have a good time out there at the course and usually we have great weather for this. What's the date on it again? It's October fourth. Oh, that's beautiful. That's right after the heat breaks that you get the nice breeze, lots of sunshine, low humidity. Well, you picked a good one. We picked a good one. And it's going to
be on a Friday, and it'll be midday. So hookie on Friday on Friday, Yes, lunch at eleven shotguns startedan Wow, that's going to be really fun. Now how do we find out about that? I mean, where can we go to sign up? If we've got to ford them? You know, we've got folks here that they sign up a lot a golf community. They're just looking for the next one. So how can you get there? Fab four it. So our sponsorships and registration are both available online.
That's Tri County tech dot edu slash golf is the easiest way to get there. Great, And what is it for an individual or so a team is one thousand dollars and that includes a whole sign that includes all your meals, your mulligans. Again, there's no gimmicks when you get there, there's no raffles, there's no just eat and play and have eat and play. You get you know, golf cart, beverage cart, and then merchandise bags. So yeah, are nice merchandise bags too. Now we want a sponsor,
we go to the same page, same page. I understand we probably have different levels of sponsorship that are available for whatever pocketbook your company has or has. Yep, we have multiple levels. We have title sponsors, driving range, petting, green, beverage cart, lunch and we actually have a few sponsors already, so I feel like I should give them a show to
do that. Yeah, and so our title sponsor is Ascension Saint John's Great and then we have driving sponsor, which is our best and be Okay Financial is our beverage cart sponsor, Conicco Phillips is our petting Green sponsor, and then Trudy Credit Union is our lunch sponsor. But we still have multiple sponsorships available at those different levels. All right, so polcha, I know you
listen because every time this is on, we got the little gage. So if you're saying I'd like to be a part of this case, sign up. And if you have a business or you are in a position to make a decision for your company by all means, you know, drop a little line and say how can we do this and Champagne will help you out.
Yes. Online again is try County Tech dot edu. You can call try County Tech directly and get a hold of me if you'd like to ask some questions or if you want to come in and fill out the regist, I can be happy to fill that out for you. See you in person. Now if we just want to make a gift and you know, and just not play golf because we don't have any game, you know what I mean,
can we do that too? Of course, again, you can do that online, in person or by mail, and that's just try County Tech dot edu slash giving right now, do you have a corporate people to help out with your foundation and if so, how do they do that with annual gifts or one time gifts or can they get involved in a foundation or in endowment I mean endowment for the founding through the foundation. Yeah, we have corporate sponsors that donate to us regularly and in Knicco, Phillips, Phillip sixty
six, a eppso or regular sponsors. We have people who do gifts and kinds. A Quick Trip foundation does gas cards. So there's lots of corporate sponsorships good that we receive annually. You get a day off. It sounds like you're busy. We're busy all the time. But that's good. It's easy when you love what you do. It's easy when you're busy, that's for sure. You don't have any time to worry about anything else. It's like done, we got enough, Oh good, we got more coming in.
Let's take care of that. One campaign to the next, one campaign to the next. And you know, DRAI County Tech is a great uh not only a institution of learning, but it's also a wonderful facility. Here's what happened. Whenever I go in there, I said, well, hey, that looks like a nice building, and I get in, it's like, how did you make it so big on inside when it doesn't look that big on the outside. It's amazing. You guys really do wonders with your
space. It's huge. Yes, and we're actually renovating right now to increase capacity in our health wing. Oh yeah, so all of our health service wing programs are getting updated technology too, So that's exciting. Well, that is exciting. Increased capacity, increase graduation rates, which is really the most important. Oh it is? It truly is. I Now, moms and dads, you got your teenagers kind of roam in the house and you wish
they were doing something. I know this because I have seven kids. But if you know, you're thinking about your sophomore, your freshman, your junior, think about some classes that they might want to be able to take a look at at try County Tech. And all you have to do is go to try County Tech dot edu. That's correct and it's easy to navigate. You can find out really a lot and what might be good for your youngster.
And who knows young adults too young adults is going to say eighteen to twenty four, eighteen to twenty four of those people that maybe went to school and decided that wasn't for them, or went out to work and decided they wanted to do something different. We have adult programs that I think last year, oh I don't want to miss quote, but maybe it was sixty eight year old. We had from sixteen to sixty eight I think was last year's
statistics. So we serve people of all ages, not just high school students. That doesn't surprise me because one people are living longer and two people are working longer. They were looking through the Bible and they couldn't find that part
about thou shalt retire. It wasn't the eleventh commandment'll do there, and they think said, well, I want to be relevant, I want to be doing things, and by all means, you know, one thing as great as these certificate programs that you have, because there are people who have all kinds of general knowledge, right, but to have it something that has a piece of paper saying yes, I'm very well qualified to do this specific thing
stands out in front of an employer when you're presenting yourself as a candid it for a job, and it's just really remarkable the different certificate programs you haven't There are several programs from shop which is like automotive, auto collision, welding, precision machining, to cosmetology and marketing and BioMed. I mean, if there's a gam at teacher prep, that just endless and less options. You mentioned a couple of things there that weren't even around ten years ago. They're
always encoding, cutting edged up there. But just for between the you know, the adults out there. I've never met an unemployed welder. So if you've got a youngster who's thinking, I don't know really what I want to do. Maybe I want to work with my hands, I want to look into that. I've never seen an unemployed welder. Probably one out just to make me mad, but I've never seen one. Yeah, that's a highly highly sought after career. Especially it's almost like a surgeon for metal. There
you go. I don't know about that. Might not be it just sounds good, I don't know, but it is is good. But Champagne, if folks want to get a hold of you to learn more about the foundation, of course they can go to the website for the golf thing, but they have questions a little bit more, you know, in depth.
