Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome. It is Memorial Day and this is a city that never stops working. And we've got our friends here from Sunfast and POI. As we're celebrating Memorial Day. We've just got to watch just four straight short days before Sunfast kicks off. In the studio, we have Robin, we have Trey, we have Tina in the middle. How are we doing? Everybody good, doing
wonderful, doing wonderful. We've got a lot going on. And first of all, Robin, you're over there at the marketplace and I Tina was speaking highly of you. She's actually standing on a stool and she's and she says that that that marketplace is going to be rocking this summer. It's going to
be rocking. I think we about doubled what we did last year. And a lot of new vendors this year, a lot of our old favorites, a variety of things, not a lot of duplicates, which is good, but a lot of variety of everything from edible and smellable and wearable home decor, wood working, yeah, pottery, Oh yeah, there's some funny stained glass, fired glass. I mean some really interesting stuff, live plants. Uh, just such a variety and it's all excuse me, eighty percent handcrafted.
So everything is very got a lot of love put into it, not just you know, manufactured in a factory. These are these are handmade items. So now, Tina, we've got a scavenger hunt. Do you have this scavenger Okay, so the scavenger hunt, well, you'll be able to come in, pick up your little entry form, walk around. We're going to have about twenty five of our Sun logo that you're going to be in different booze throughout the one hundred and fifty booze. So that's a lot of
booze. I tell you. They're all different colors, yes, and they're all different a robin babies and they're all different colors. You're going to be able to find you find those logos, write down the number, put your entry into the buckets that we'll have in the hospitality area. So this way, you know, it comes Saturday around five ish, we will draw for those. There will be three prizes. If they can win, so exciting stuff. I believe they get a free T shirt with them, and they
do, they right along with it. Yes, a somefest T shirt. Tell us a little bit about some fest T shirt. Oh, they're gonna be really good this year. They're full colors, of course, full color, not just one color. Full color. It's got our theme never Grow Up. Yeah. And on the back has all our sponsors and who Without our sponsors, we wouldn't have been able to do this and it allows us to just put on this great event. But the T shirts are They're soft,
they're not crunchy stiff shirts. They're full color. And I'm gonna have some for sale. Uh well, we are gonna have some for s. I should not be I, but we are gonna have some for sale available and volunteers are going to get a T shirt. Nice. Nice. Who are some of the sponsors for the shirts. Some of the sponsors are s LB, D R S and Trudy very good. They also have Concher Phillips and Phillips sixty six Yes also our best and Jane Phillips us right, why
can't I say the words society. I was gonna say sorority, but no, no, no, and Safari smiles. There we gone where that came about? Now, Trey, I didn't mean to leave you out. I mean I was just sitting there talking to the ladies. You can understand. You know, I'm a guy. I'm just it's just a man. We got. Speaking of maddenly things, we've got a car show coming up. We do tom and that is being put on this year by a Patriot Auto
group. And the car show is going to be on Saturday morning, June first, from nine am to three pm south side of Center Park in the Fields. It's free admission. All we're asking is twenty dollars per vehicle entry. And this year new board member came to us by the name of Duke Epperson from Tri County Tech and his guys have done a phenomenal job and they're rocking and rolling and ready to go. I think. Well. And with that said, one of his guys drew the artwork for the car show,
which is amazing, and we turned it into a T shirt. Well, shoot, there will be car show T shirts available also. Great. Great, Now I understand what was so much going on? We need volunteers, Did they hear that correctly? Yes? Yes, How do we do that? Well? They can always go to our Facebook page, uh huh and contact us through our Facebook page and let us know that they and one of us, somebody on the committee will contact them and get them registered so they
know where to go and what to do. Wow. So just go to Barbisville SunFest and message us. There's a lot going on and we with youth Fest especially, the more hands the better. You know, there's a lot of activities for the kids. And we do have Troop six, the Scout Troop six that's there that helps out and they're amazing. They do really, they do so much. Great group of guys. But the more, the more the merria, the more hands we can get people to love SunFest and
want to invest in it. We always welcome volunteers. I think they could also email SunFest at b Bville sunfesti dot com. Yeah, so they can always email there Bville SunFest at gmail dot com. Very good. Now, what do we got? We got two big stages, we got a band show, we got a big stage. What have we got coming up here? We do? We got all kinds of great entertainment here for the whole community to enjoy. Of course, the park is going to open up Friday
at three o'clock and our stages will get underway. Main stage getting underway at five. Banshell underway at six thirty, so you can kind of, you
know, take your pick on what you want to see Friday night. We'll just start out Friday night first at Banshell at six thirty it's going to be Bartlesville Gymnastics Club, and then seven o'clock our friends from Okay Mozart kicking off their kids fest with Okay and music Dancing Eagle, and then we'll have our movie Night with Hook which the movies are being brought to us by Trudy Federal
Credit Union for both nights of the movies. And then Friday on the main stage start at five o'clock with the Roller Family Bluegrass new band for us, and then at six thirty Steve Southerwin and the Red Butt Bandits and Garrett Brown Band to end us out on Friday evening at eight and those guys hang on under your hats. It's going to be a show, a good show of course. The Saturday, both stages, you know, park will open up at ten am on Saturday. We'll have some fitness classes going on at the
Bandshell, and then we've just got some solo artists. A couple guys from Barswell High School are going to be playing and then Saturday afternoon on main stage, our friend Kevin Knowles is got to open us up at eleven am and then SunFest open MIC's taking place at two o'clock. That's a new event for us at our wonderful Entertainment Committee, just put together this last month and it's already receiving a lot of popularity. Yeah, interest there so and can they
still register for that? They can, yes, And how they get a hold of these yep, same way through our Facebook page Barsville SunFest and we'll see that message come through. And we're just asking if you're a singer songwriter eighteen years or older. I just want to put that out there. I know we've had some people ask us about it, but we're keeping it to eighteen years of older just for liability reasons, you know, if that makes
sense. If you're like eight or nine and you're running around up there in cables and yeah, things things could happen. It's not that I don't trust. I trust a lot of people, but you know, it's just for our end. We just wanted to keep things on the same side. You know, if that makes sense, What does this do? You don't want
that? Yeah, Dotty woodchair will go up straight. One thing too, for those who've never been out to some of these concerts at night, it's it's b y LC, so it's bring your own lawnchair, right, lawnchair. Yes, and we do have some bleachers, but you need to bring that out. It's so neat to see how many people will come out and just bring the lawn chair. And it's just it's best outdoor picnic and all
year. Yeah. Yeah, nice call there, we needed that. And then Saturday evening you know you'll be there at three thirty with the Suns, Yeah, with your friends Joseph god and Brian Pennington. Yeah. And then Terry Milton, Terry Melton and let it ride at five with the Sheriffs, So behave. Yeah, I will behave. I think we all will. We don't, yes, uh. And then at six thirty local favorite Anjeanette Webster and her band Evolutionia. Yes. I just talked to Anginette over the
weekend and she's really excited to be back. She should be open for last year. All the rain and she got all the sun. It was good. And then and then at eight o'clock, the classic rock cover band Infinity closes us out from Tulsa. Like I said, you know, if you're a fan of R. E u. S. B. Wagon, Journey, Boston Sticks, that era, they'll they'll cover it all for you. Okay, we got glow Fast coming up too. Yes, that said that.
Any fun, Yes, we do blow Fest sponsored this year by Blue Peet right, and that's gonna take place during our Saturday evening time frame at about dusk, so about eight o'clock ish. I would say, up there at the top of the hill by the mess the center pole. Just super fun mess. It's just a fun mess. Don't wear anything you're gonna miss. Remember the themeous never grow uh, never grow up. I like,
you know something, Trey, You're you're you're a little bit younger. But the ladies where we heard guk giggling every time they say never grow up, because all of a sudden they turn like like they're nine or ten again and they just start giggling. You know. The whole committees like that. Oh that's what I've heard. That's what I've heard. We'll go ahead through a
good group of people. Yeah, got it, it really is. And remember we're all volunteers and so we're just doing this because we love our community. This is our third year be together. This is hard to believe. And every year we increase and we grow and we add and we just were like cheese and the age well speaking that we got a ton of food vendors this year, don't we? We do? And but I just want to make sure to remember what I said about the glow fest. Wear a white
T shirt, yeah, because you know that would help. Yeah, it'll be fun, really cool. It's fun. It's definitely a come get dirty. It wouldn't be a picnic if you didn't. Yeah. So we have nineteen foods in this nineteen amazing. I think it's maybe one or two more than what we had last year. Maybe. Well it's something new this year is we have a food vendor down in the marketplace. Yeah, we kind
of spread them out a little bit more. That's good. That way you don't have to you know, run a half acre to get back over the bridge. Right. I've had very many people. I've had many people ask me around the community, will the Indian Talkless be back? And that answer is yes, they are coming back. Is that the big tent right by the main stage, Yes, in the pavilion Life, Thank you get a place to eat and you get a free concert while doing so, and dinner
in the show. Yeah, it's dinner in the show. That's been a state that's been there as long as I can never remember. I don't even know what they first started out there, but I've been going to this thing for about twenty years or more and it's always been there. Of course, DJ Southern Snow another local favorite on the snow cones. And we'll have some cocorn vendors out there and lemonade, Yeah, lemonade, and think who is it okay women, yep, yeah, she's the one that actually be down
in the marketplace. So it'll be nice for actually the vendors, so they can get some food while they're working. So good. Keep that blood sugar, ye yeah, nothing like that on a good hot day. No, I'll take that. And then Dipping Dots is back. They're another favorite. I try to get that whenever I can. You know, sometimes in the middle of the afternoon, just go over there and say, hey, can I get like a chocolate ice cream? And it's Dipping Dots. It's the
ice cream of the future. It has been since the forties, but this is gonna be great. And remember it's all cavalie neutral, because once you do some walking around the park, you burned it all off to worry about shopping some music. You know this, This is why why should you grow up? If you've got sunfast in your backyard. It's right here. Guy's gonna be living up to your theme. Oh yeah, don't forget movie night. We got got hook and what's the other one? And return? Yeah,
it kind of fits to never grow up. Yeah, and thank you Truity Credit Union for sponsoring both of those movies for it. Alright, ladies Cray, thank you very much for being in here and taking time out of your Memorial Day to share with this today. Well you'll see us all on Friday because we'll be out there at the radio station. We'll be blasting it from here to Highley. And I don't even know where highly is, so I think it's in Texas. But anyway, thank you for being with us
here on our community connection. There's a time
