And good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome. It is time now for our community connection right here on gay one, the one you'd prosted. It is now eight eighteen and we have our friends in from Saint John's School and we are going to talk about the annual gala. We have Amanda and Ashley in here with us today and ladies, first of all, welcome to the show. Thank you. It's great to
have you on board. Now. This GAYLA is a big thing and I understand that you're kind of new it, you know, filling in some holes there, but you know what your recent hires. But this is going to be a lot of fun. It has been a lot of fun, hasn't it. It is. It's the largest fundraiser that the school does throughout the
year. Our HSA does a great job of fundraising for their things for the parents and they always like to give back to the school, but this is our fundraiser for the school to use for so many different funds and needs that we have. It's this Saturday, April twentieth, and we've been working really hard. The Committee of Parents has just been going above and beyond to get
things done. And like you mentioned before Elizabeth. Elizabeth retired this last year, so we are new hires and we've both kind of taken on and she's left a great path for us to follow. Yeah, I understand you have an honorary chair person who is this, Yes, the mim Hawk family are honorary chairs, so mister John mim Mary Lynn and John mim Hawk and then
their daughter Cassie mim who was recently married in December. She and Schaefer Kimball are all serving as honorary chairs and they've been doing a fantastic job getting sponsor tables, live auction items, regular auction items. Cassie is going to be mceing the event and she's a Saint John alumnus, so she's happy to come back and give to the community and be back at the school. This is going to be a lot of fun. How fun has it been for you
so far? It's been really great. I started actually my kids have been attending Saint John for four years, so I came on as a parent and it's great that the parents are great, the teachers are great, everybody's great to work with. So it's been a lot of fun. Now with the gallup, I know that we've got tickets, but we've got tickets and other
tickets. We got prizes, do we not? Yes? So I mean you can come on as a sponsor and get a table, and then tickets are available to just online or it's easy to navigate through the Facebook or through the Saint John website. And the evening is going to be full of just auction items and raffles. What are some of the big auction items we might want to take a look at here because folks, you say auction for charity, folks get excited about that. Yes, we have lots of great items
for our live auction. So one being from Bell Camper Sales. They have donated a classy motor home so for a four night's stay and they'll show you how to drive it and all the upgraded things that you could have for a great night's vacation. Nice. And then we also have Honey's Flowers donated one bouque a month for a year. And then that one I know doesn't want to happen. And then Polo Grill is paid for for a private dinner for eight and then Discount Tire has donated some tires, set of tires, a
Halo car charger and a gas card. And then we also have a his and Hers package which includes wine and some brand new golf clubs nice. So those are big items. Then we'll have silent auction items throughout the night, and then currently up until today, we have an online auction available at our school website. Nice that has good items for kids and parents. There's a couple of things to ride home in a fire truck or a police car.
I think those are getting some nice bids on it because who wouldn't want to do that? Who? Quite a few other things, lots of gift cards parents have chipped in. I know that you can get fresh farm eggs, fresh farm vegetables delivered to your house, Sautesian breads, like, there's all kinds of things and they're usually I think they're all three months, like you get three months worth. So well, that's good enough for me. I don't take that any old day now. Once again, this is coming up
on this Saturday, the twentieth. Yes, and tickets are still available. Now do we just go to the website? Is that where we go? Yeah, school website. They're available online. That's undergetting the easiest way. It's all done online. You could call the school and we could take care of you that way. But we'd love to have people come out and support the school. Have a good night. It's going to be Roaring twenties themed. We've been done in the past and we've got it all set up.
It's going to be great. Well, this is going to be fantastic and it all benefits Saint John Catholic School, which, by the way, you's been around a good long time. It's the oldest Catholic school in Oklahoma. It is that it's got that marker going on forward there and of course it goes all the way up to eighth grade, I believe yes. And the students there, they'll every time I go to the gala, the students will assist you. They'll show you around a little bit, you know, and
where to go where you need to be student. And what I get a kick out of was just I know that they're youngsters, but they're just so much sure and there's so much more mature acting and they really present well and really speak volumes for the school. I think the students take a lot of ownership of the school. We have about one hundred and fifty students and small class sizes, really loving teachers, and they have become their own community and
you know, love being there. Well. The way they have their confidence that really projects well, their confidence when they're showing you around. That that has always been really something I kind of pay attention to. I've got seven kids, and I don't think when they were that age they were well, they're more like the old man. But you know, it's great to hear because as we said, Ashley has three children, Yes, what great,
and they're in eighth grade, fifth grade, and third grade. So my eighth grader is the one that would probably be the one to be seating you or doing those types of things, and he definitely takes pride in that. I have one student Saint John's, So my daughter's in pre k Ah, so she's just starting her her journey, just getting going well. You see with this gala, if we if we do it right, it'll still be
standing around doing really well if we keep the gala going. Yeah, and that's being said, we can't do an event like this without such wonderful sponsors. So if I can just take a moment, let's do that, because we can't get it done without him. Yeah. So We've got mister John Mim John and Mary Lynn Hawk coming in doing also generosity, Doctor Ben and Karen Baker. Karen's also on the gala committee. She'll be doing the decorations,
working really hard on that. We always have the support of Conico Phillips and Phillip sixty six. Something nice that they've done is that they have let us fill their tables with parents from Saint John, so that way it can
go right. That's great. We have Senator Julie and mister Charlie Daniels, Skyway, Honda, Kellor Her Architects, Megan Sneed of Keller Williams Relatives, Father John, Mark and Debbie Haskell, four Stone Wealth Management, Cassie and Schaeffer, Kimball, Truity and Belle Camper Sales, and then also Jane Phillips Medical Center, John and Kathleen Donahue, Arnold Moore, Neecamp Funeral Home, Stride Bank, Teresa John Wirtz Bank, First Our Best Bank, the Painted
Horse, and Mike and Nicole Young. So lots of people coming in to help make this event successful and to continue the school legacy and letting us grow. Asking for a brand now his father John I'm gonna pull out his guitar and play. I don't know us suppose he could be encouraged. We wouldn't take much. Hey John, do you forget Yeah? Here it is. I think I think he plans to. I think so. Something cool that he has done is, if you know Father John, you know he is
the lego connoisseur. He has designed lego creations of Saint John and James churches and those are going to be on display at the auction. How nice is that? Yeah, my goodness sakes. So you know he puts them to good use. I can't say that always happens with the grandkids because I wind up stepping on him. But you know, it is great. They're intact, They're all good. This is going to be great. It's going to be coming up Saturday night at Saint John at the school, YEP, and
right there at Previidence Hall, in the gym, in the gym. Oh in the gym, not at the hall. Yeah, I know. The decorations committee. Their goal is to make it not look like a gym, which they've always done so success. That is true. But it's great that we can use our space and lower our costs and so the money that goes to the gala as sponsorships and tickets is really going towards the school. This
is great, This is going to be awesome. I and hope to see you both there, and I hope see all you people in radio land there too, because if you're not there, you're going to miss the event of the season. It really is good. Thank you for being with us. You're on our community action. Thank you thanking us alrighty folk,
