Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome. We have Nadia Jackson in with Special Olympics and why you're a busy woman, Nadia? A little bit? What do we got cooking here? We've got a lot going on, don't we coming up this weekend? I guess we do. We have an event coming up this weekend. It is our Special Olympics Young Athlete Event. Uh huh. That is for all kids ages
three to seven. We're holding that at Bartlesfield High School. Okay, we want to encourage all parents that have kids ranging from three to seven to come out and have fun with us the games that we do there. If we have fifteen games set up, they're going to address OT skills, PET skills and just playing how to play, just playing old how to play well you know what? All kids like that? Yes, I don't care who you are. Even some adults like that too. We must to be on the
play side of XAM same here. So do we have to sign up or anything? We will have sign ups at the door. Oh, so you don't have worry about anything in advance. You show up and sign one hundred percent free show up, sign up, play with us. Everybody will walk away with the Young Athletes ribbon. We've got a great event plan. What a great way to make friends and make the connection with Special Olympics. Yes, you know, because a lot of folks they'll hear about it, but
they don't know how to engage. And this is a nice little engagement point. Super. Yes. So the Young Athletes program, the purpose of that is to get athletes, uh huh, future Special Olympics athletes as well as well as future Unified Partner athletes. There we go so to bring them together at an early age so that they get to grow up and compete together from three. The unified partner thing is pretty special in and of itself because these
people I think have just as much fun as the kids do. Oh they do, absolutely. I have unified partners that text me every week or do we get to go to practice this week? Do we get to go to they they itch to be a part of it. Yes, And the kids
are just so fun. Yes, you know. I lived in Illinois and a normal Illinois matter of fact, and that's where they have the state Special Olympics and that is a big dog gone deal up there, and everybody just loves the kids and everybody goes out to support the kids and you can't find, you know, anyone that doesn't have some sort of an attachment to it. But this is great and I like the way we're getting things rolling here. We've got another event coming up, too, don't we. We do.
On March sixteenth is our Area Truck Meet, and this is where people from all over Grand Area, which includes all the counties basically in the northeast corner of Oklahoma, so Craig, Delaware, mays Nowada, Ottawa, Rogers, and Washington County, so basically the neighborhood right, very much, all of the teams will all come together and we'll hold our Big track Meet to get ready for the Big Track Meet and Stillwater that's in mass So we have
over one hundred and forty athletes competing on March sixteenth. Wow, So we would love to have the community out to that. Come support the athlete. If you want to volunteer, we love volunteers and we I promised we have a spot we can put you out. Sweet that is great. Now, how do we get a hold of you? Oh no, that would be a good thing. Yeah. I'm actually a full time teacher at Bartlesville schools.
So I have a Bartlesville school email address. No, no, it isn't No, it's actually Jackson my last name in t at BPS Dashoka dot org dot org. Okay, huh. Or you can email Grand at s ook dot org. Okay. That would probably the one be easier to remember. That's easy to remember. Yeah, this is super, This is really good. Now folks want to know what's going on, you know, from day day to day week week with a special Olympics. Do you have like
a Facebook page or a website or both? We do. Yes, we have s o ok dot org slash grand and that will take you to the Grand Area Facebook or the Grand Area website. And then we also have a Grand Area Facebook and a Special Olympics Oklahoma Facebook. So you just search special Olympics Oklahoma, Grand Area and it'll pop us up, just like that, just like that. That is sweet. I want to thank you for coming in. Did we miss anything? You brought a whole lot of I don't
think so, My Goodnesskes and of course said donations always welcome. Oh absolutely, yeah, you know. So if you have a thousand dollars, just burn it in your pocket. Just talk Naughtia and make sure that it goes to the kids. And because there's a lot, needs to get paid for it. I promise we'll, but it's a good use. Yes, there's always Every dollar has a name. Yes, they say Nadia, thank you for being with us, thank you so much for having me.
