Good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome at his time. Now for our community connection right here on K one, the one you trust, and it is brought to you by Arnold Moore and Kneecamphul Home and Tall Grass Motors. And good morning one and all. We have our friends here from Samaritan Counseling and Growth Center. Kristen. We just never get enough of you. How are you doing? I like to come in. I'm doing great. Thanks right. She's the interim executive director and Larry's rash.
She comes in an awful lot too. We just put out the coffee dis and welcome. He's the president of board of directors here and we have got the Sports Spectacular coming up. Did I say that, you know, dude? That was great? Yeah, by the whole seat Pedrol' gonna need the end school bit we'll come from. Yeah. This is our seventeenth annual Sports Spectacular. It is about one month away, so Saturday, August twenty six at the Hilton Garden in six pm. Just really looking forward to it.
It's our largest fundraiser of the year, so where we can raise a lot of funds for the community and clients that come in to see us operating costs things like that. Larry, who's coming in. Well, we've got kind of really excited about who we have as the speakers this year. You know, you talk about good timing, we actually had great timing this year. A lot of people are familiar with what the Old Roberts University has done and
where they went in the College World Series. They did great, absolutely, and you know, one of the few four seeds has ever gotten that far in the World Series. And so we have the coach of the RU baseball team and the athletic director, Tim Johnson, who is from Bartlesville. Yeah, indeed, Hotel boy does good. Absolutely, George George Johnson did good. He raised the good one. And uh, you know Tam and Day and his brother Daniel are really really good young man. So we're tickled to
death to have them and excited with the timing. He'll be able to tell us a little bit about his World Series experience. Well, this is gonna be great and just really spectacular. Thus the name, right, I tell you, Yeah, you never get one pass meet. Well I'm a little slow, but yeah, we're looking forward to It's fun to have two speakers, Um, just to kind of you know, hear from both of them. And again Daniel's our announcer for the event too, so kind of a
family affair there. Well, this is great. You know sometimes you know, if you get one from one school one probably some folks are going yeah okay, and the other folks who, well, this one's a wood wood all the way around. Because this is great. We had to Jacob Hall from right here in Barnes will play on that team now. And you know, so we got a lot of local connections with this. You like you said, timing couldn't be better. Absolutely, yeah, it's and it's great.
Yeah, we've had some bakers, Barry Schwitzer. Last year we had Mike Boyton and from Issue. So we've had some really great speakers and it's kind of tough to keep that level up, but we did. Did you guys cash in? The chip's pretty dark? Good? Go? So, Kristen, where do we get tickets for this um? You can go to our event website, which is www dot support Samaritan dot org. It'll tell you all about the event and then you can also get individual tickets there.
We also have sponsorships available there as well, so so if you're a business and you want to, you know, kind of spread the love. You can get yourself a table, invite some of your besties and yeah, have yourself a good time. Absolutely get some advertising out of it. UM sponsorship start as low as two fifty UM go all the way up from there. If you want a full table, UM bring some friends, Yeah, that
would be great. And then individual tickets are on there as well. If you have a request on who to sit by, we'll take that as well. Well. You know, this is a service that we do at well, I'm not part of the week by the community is involved with Samaritan Counseling. It's it's irreplaceable and we've got to make sure that this stays around a good long time. This is a great way to get it done. This is it's a great way to support and we've already had some great sponsors sign
up. This is one of the most fun events that's held in Bartlesville. You get to wear your sports whatever days you want. One year, a couple of years. I wore something from a high school, but it doesn't matter. It's it's very casual. Thinks is going to serve us a great meal and it's just it's a fun environment. We've got some great live auction inside on auction items, but ultimately is to support Samaritan and our mission.
And we serve about nine hundred people last year, about almost five thousand sessions. Wow, So you think it doesn't happen in Bartlesville, Well it does, and it's everywhere. It's it doesn't it doesn't know any boundaries exactly right. And so we you know, we pride ourselves on being able to serve people and help them with subsidies if they can't afford to pay. But it's
things like Samaritan Sports spectActor that gives us ability to do that. And so it's we rely a lot on sponsorships, fundraising and uh, you know we're a big United Way We're one of their partner agencies and so they are a big supporter of ours. And so it's just it is a community based service. And Kristen, Uh, if I'm not mistaken, I heard through grape By. Actually I heard from people I know. We actually started doing telehealth for a lot of other people were doing it. Yeah, it was like
the week following when Covid broke out. We've rolled that out real quick, started those services and we still have them available today for anyone interested in telehealth. So if that's just any kind of a clue as to how on the ball we are here at a Sumaritan counseling service and not leaving anybody in the orch because these are services people need. That should tell you just a real good indicator that you're not going to be forgotten when things get tough, right,
So that's that's great. Where's the Lucian Samaritan smridan is right across from Center Park two four or five South Madison Boulevard. Alright, Larry, the services they're just incredible. Like you said, he served so many people, it is, and we've served from young to old. And we have family counseling, group counseling, mostly individual counseling, but some other things that we're looking at, you know, are going to benefit a wider range of people,
in the wider range of needs. But right now, um, we have we have our handsful with what we have. Yeah, so you know, we need to take care of things and this is a great way to do it and have some fun while you're doing it, and loosen up that wallet for crying out loud. I mean, this is going for a great car. You're going to spend money on silly things one day, you might as well do for something good this day and keep the silly in your pocket.
You know that's right. You can you can buy something good, buy a good trip. We've got we've got some great trips that are going to be included in our live auction. And just again it's uh, I'll use the old Roger Scaley term. It's not what you're giving, it's who you're given to. Guy. So it's not what you're buying, it's what you're giving to. So that's and for us, that's really the important thing. We'd like to see people's hands in the air. Oh yeah, yeah,
I just don't do the old touchdown thing. You get bid twice. But if you really want that bad but we'll let you do it. We'll let you do it. Sports Spectacular Saturday, August twenty six, six pm and that is going to be downtown, downtown at the Hilton Government. ALRIGHTY want you to get your tickets at www dot support some meriton dot org. Boy, when you hit the page, you know you got the right one. I think the tickets are seventy five an individual ticket, so that's great,
very reasonable compared to a lot of the other benefits in town. And look what you get a dinner and some speakers and a chance to bid on some really coction items. And we have DJ brand in there as well, Um palm and cheer girls. Yeah, all right, now this is great. Anything you got have missed? I can't think of anything right now. We got to say, tell your friends, tell you your friends. Everyone there, all right. I want to thank you for being with us today.
Thank you, all right, thank you, Thank you for the radio station doing this and allowing us this time. We appreciate it.
