Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome in this time now for our community connection right here on Kay one, the one you trust, and we have Luke and Tania swaying in here with us today from the Salvation Army here in Bartos. Will how you doing can? Of course you're doing great, doing God's work. You'd better be doing great. Yeah, I understand we've been having a good time with the with the angel tree. First of all, tell us how we come along with that?

Good? We have all the trees up, oh yeah, in the town and there are how many locations about six or seven? Yeah? Yeah, and so yeah, we got the final ones up. Well, we have a little stack of them left, but all the trees are up and there they have all angels on them, so they're ready for adoptions. All right, let's go out and adopt some little angels. And to make this very happy, churslales, should we tell them all the locations now? Probably

help? Right? Yeah? Yeah, there's a RSU downtown. There's State Farm Yep, it's not one at State Farm one? Why did I think that? And then there's then of course at Walmart. Yeah, there's two at Walmart and Jane Phillips and Jane Phillips I remember that, Yes, yes, St. John. I'm a part time resident down there, so yeah. And we have one also at the Walmart distribution center, oh, going out of town. So if there's anyone that you know works there, there's

that one as well. Yes, go and adoptioning, And we still have some there at the that we haven't put up on trees. So you know, if they have a small business that would like to adopt a group or a family and you know five or ten, then we still have some of those available as well. You know, I understand that's been going well business and contacting you just for that firm. That's super helpful. Yeah, for sure. Now we've got we've got the big one coming up here on Wednesday.

Tell us a little bit about Thanksgiving dinner. It's a big deal here. Yeah, we have the community meal coming up with a lot of partner organizations that come and help prepare for that and help serve and the community comes together and we serve a Thanksgiving meal be Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, and we're expecting somewhere around four hundred so yeah, yeah, four hundred. Yeah, we did we did a little little less than that last year.

But but I think we're gonna probably you know, come and these things that are build building back that we're gonna ye see that that number and we're excited. We are a lot of people are excited about it. Yeah. We have a great staff that's that's helped put it together. They've done an amazing job and and helping where to do all the details. Yeah, you've got a lot of helping hands. Huh we do. Oh wow, this is great. Now, what time is the serving going to start? Starts eleven

eleven from eleven until two or the food running that's happened before. Yeah, yeah, boy, I tell you this is great. This is a wonderful time of the year. And Salvation Army was there to make sure that everyone is included in our celebrations of thanks and our celebrations of love. And the Salvation Army has done wonderful things and not only in our community, but in

communities worldwide where the Salvation Army is allowed to serve. And then I know that there are some places we can't mention on the map where the Salvation Army is, but they're there. It's for their own safety. Yeah, you guys are the hands of Peter of God, and you guys do a great job. Now. Also coming up, I understand you got you got it started a little bit. You had a soft opening for the red Kettle.

We did. Yeah, yeah, last Saturday we started ringing a few locations and we've continued that throughout the week and uh, it's it's going well. We Uh it's a great opportunity for us to be present in the community and uh huh and uh and then this Saturday, will we'll start ringing all locations. And so thankful to the businesses that allow us to be present in front of our doors. And and yeah, just to Maanke that appeal. So

thankful the businesses. We have counter kettles going up in several businesses as well. Yeah, the opportunity this year, there's gonna be a QR code that you can scan and your money will stay right here in Bartlesville. So that's an amazing opportunity as well. But it's so thankful to everyone who's helping to help allow us to do that with their businesses. Now, Tanya, I understand that this QR code, that's that funny little thing looks like a puzzle.

You just stick your telephone on there and you just let you let it take the little picture and it takes you to a website. But this one will tell you you're going to Bartlesville. You're not going to Jersey, You're not going to Florida, You're not going to Montana. You're going to Bartleswell, yeah, it's gonna stay here in Bartlesville. What you know, there's a lot of folks that I guess would would say, well, I don't mind giving to the Salvation Army, but you feel a little bit better when

it's gonna maybe help you neighbor. Yeah, yeah, you do. Oh my goodness. So you guys have been in town for how long? About six months? A year? We got here in June. Oh, whoa, not that much? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I came here in the busy season. Huh we did? You got a little baptism by fires, that's right. Yeah. Yeah. There's a lot going on for sure. Yeah. How do you like the community so far? I love it. Yeah, I love it getting engaged with a lot of the different day

interworkings from town and the different clubs. Yeah. Yeah, I have. I've you know, I've I've ventured out and get involved a little bit. I do. Uh, the club, the Women's Club, the Bottlesville Yeah, the Bottlesville Ladies Connection. I've went to a couple of those events, and it's a wonderful, wonderful group of ladies. Oh yeah, Kawanas yep, I joined. I've been going there doing some things with them. I went to my first Roadary meeting a few weeks ago. Oh yeah, you're

a rotary now, yeah, kind of looking that way. Yeah. And there's just so many people are so involved in this community. Yeah, that's one thing we've really noticed is how community driven everybody is and how interconnected and intertwined everybody. Everybody seems to be to really, you know, do the most good. Well that's what Salvation Army is all about, doing the most good. That's your that's your motto. Do you guys live in it every day? Yeah? That This is an amazing thing that's going on here.

And first and again, welcome to the community. I hope you guys get to stay here a good long time and really get to enjoy it. Yeah, we hope so. Well. Yeah, Now, this is a fun time of the year, but it's also a challenging time of the year. Now, there are folks who often stand in line and just wait for the volunteer sheet to go out and ring the kettles. You got that going on. But you can do that online now you don't have to go in someplace

and sign up, right. Yeah, it's really simple. Yeah, registered or ring. You can just type it in or you can you can go to registered ring dot com. But either way it'll be the first thing to pop up. But you just put in your zip code for bartsvill zip code whatever that might be, or area. Yeah, and it'll populate the places that are availed in our most popular spots and the times that are available. They're in two hour windows, so you can you can sign up and it's

from eleven to seven, but it's divided up into two hour windows. You can sign up as a group, you can sign up as an individual. You can request community hours, community service hours, and so yeah, it's all it's all pretty simple on that website. It's it's pretty uh, it's it's very intuitive, pretty simple to you. So and if you have any questions you can always call us. The number for the Salvation Army down there is nine one eight three three, six, six four five four and you

can ask for uh, Tanya or myself. You can ask for Luke and we can walk you through that process. And yeah, Tony, the clubs have a ball when they do this because they kind of share it. You know, it can take turn and drinking the bell, but they just have a good time. It just seems like it's a good thing for the club spirit. Oh yeah, yeah, we do have several different clubs that are involved, yeah for sure. Yeah. Yeah, and you know sometimes even

the high schools and the other churches get their youth involved to Yeah. Yeah, we have we have different definitely have some different groups that have signed up, even some that have surprised me. I would have never known it. Yeah yeah, different different organizations that have signed up as groups. But yeah, it's it's amazing how much support we've had and uh and how much support we need. There's still a lot of available spots. Uh yeah, we

would definitely love this all the sport we can get. Yeah, yeah, for sure. There's also an opportunity for kettle sponsorship. Some businesses, we can do a daily sponsorship where you can match a kettle up to a certain amount. Even our best locations generally, you know, you can match up to like five hundred a day. And and then we also have kettle sponsorships where we do different levels. Uh. And you could call down and speak to us, Like I said once again, you can call us down there

to Salvation Army and we can talk you through that process. But super helpful. Uh. You know, one one hour of bell ringing will feed about thirteen families, you know, generally, and one hour of volunteer bell ringing will generally feed about thirteen family And I hadn't known that. Yeah, it'll do about thirteen food boxes. We and then you know, like a sponsorship. It's amazing what something like that can do. A thousand dollars sponsorship or

anything above that. I mean, the work that we can do with that amount of money is absolutely amazing. Wow, that is really incredible. Who knew that just ringing a bell could do so much good for so many people? Yeah, yeah, that is just incredible. Yeah. Now, you know, I've heard this in other towns. Every now and then somebody just decides I'm just going to stick a gold coin in here. Yeah, that has happened. Yeah, I've heard that. I've heard that as well.

We've actually seen it in other locations. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you never know who this is now, and they'll never tell you now, and it's gonna go down as one of the great mysteries of the United States. Yeah, but somebody only drops a gold coin in there, just smiles all the way walking by. Yeah. Yeah, that that's a that's kind of a neat thing and it's also a nice surprise because it doesn't happen in every community, but it happens in an interview. Yeah. Yeah, oh my

goodness. So we can we can do this by going to the website. So if you want to put it on your debit card or your credit card, you can do that, right, So if you go with the QR code, the QR code, you sure can. Yep. There's there's multiple ways to pay. But yeah, it'll give you some options there PayPal and uh wait you do it. You're getting high tech here PayPal. Yeah, that's something the kids do. Yeah, there's a few few different choices.

Yeah, and you just scan the QR code and it'll go right there. It has a few choices to choose from giving amounts and then there's another box you can check there and you can put any amount and uh, you know, anywhere from a dollar on up. So, yeah, even that one dollar is going to help because every little bit, every little bit, Yeah for sure, you know that that's a can or two of vegetable it is,

and it's a box or two of macaroni and cheese. Yeah. And you know, you you might not think that, you know that your little dollar right is going to go to work, but it will go to work wisely. And of course when we do business with the Salvation Army, you can bet that bottom dollar that over ninety percent of it is going toward the intended use, which is the people they need. Yeah, there's it is amazing how well the money is managed and the programs that it goes to support

right here in Bartowsville. You know, we have the kids club down there right now, oh yeah, care yeah, and we have we have our seniors programs, and we have some great things going on with the homelessness prevention, bill pay and rental assistance. We even do gas vouchers for people who can't make it to work one week, oh yeah, and just various other things. We partner with other organizations in the community in different outreach and yeah,

and all that's made possible by the community. So and you know that kind of comes and goes, you know, with the gas thing, because when the economy is sort of good, it's something that it kind of hit or miss, for sure. But when the economy is kind of like where it is right now, it's a necessary thing. Yeah, and by golly, you know, sometimes that last dollar has got to go to feed a baby, and they're gonna go to your guest. Thank Yeah. We've got

to make choices that are tough like that, yeah, for sure. And this is why the Salvation Army is here has kind of less of that choice making. That's our hope. Yeah, yeah, my goodness, just tell everybody what we can find you. Where you can find us. One on one north uc there you go. They know their home address. They've been in town for five mons. Yea on one north right there. Yeah, and there's flags flying and yeah, we've got yeah, we've we've got we've

got people there from generally Monday through Friday, from nine to five. So yeah, just come by and there's many opportunities. Miss tiny. How early are they going to start cracking in the kitchen on Wednesday? I'matually gonna start

Tuesday night. We're gonna start Monday, Yeah, we're gonna start sun Prep on Monday, but yeah, we'll be there yeah yeah, okay, so eleven o'clock and serving time and we hope to see you there if you're in need of a meal and they need a fellowship too, yeah fellowship, yeah, need of prayer. I mean, we're going to have some people that are going to be there for them. That's what it's all about. And thank you very much, Luke Tanya has swayed with the Salvation Army of Bartiloe.
