Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome in his time now to get rocking, and it is also a time for our community connection, brought to you by Arnold Moore DeCamp Funeral Home. And with us today we have the Republicans, other Conservatives Washington County rock for sure, and we have Quinn Shipper and Jessica Cross here with the today. How are we doing, guys and gals, We're doing a beautiful day. Yes, it is sunshine, but I like that we had, you know,
some of that the liquid sunshine yesterday, which was kind of rare. Thank you, yeah, ver, thank you Jesus. But we got a big to do coming up on April fifteen. But first of all, we want to acknowledge someone we lost here recently, someone very dear to all of us. Yes, we want to acknowledge the passing of Billy Rohan. She was also a member of our Advisory Council for ROC but also a valued member of our community. And we're going to be having a celebration of her life.
Is going to be in two weeks, yes, two weeks, on the twenty second, in the evening a crossing second where we usually have our meetings. There's going to be light refreshments. Pastor Joe Kola will also speak a few kind words, so we encourage people to come by, share their memories and stories and join her family. Very good, Very good. We've got a big get together. It's very informative. From what I can tell coming up here on the fifteenth, you've got quite the program coming our way.
Yes we do, okay, so we're calling it Actress Service. And during our time here, we've gotten acquainted with the different field representatives for legislators. And what I've learned is there are a lot of services and resources for consistuent that the offices provide that a lot of people just simply don't know about. So some of this is kind of hear about a day in the life of a field representative, what they do, where they go, the areas they
cover, what they report back to the congressman or the Senator. So we have three of them coming. It's been kind of interesting trying to get all three of them in the same place at the same time. But we could usually get two, but never three. But this is a rarity. It's a rarity, So come out and get all three at once and So we have Derek Sisney, who's the field representative in northeast Oklahoma for Congressman Ricken, and we have Max Savalla who is the representative for James Langford. And we
have Crystal Campbell, who is a representative for Mark Wayne Mullen. Now, one thing I'd say about these three young people, these young adults are all very intelligent, very motivated, very sharp people. And again to get them all through in the same place at the same time as rare. But last month we were talking about water resourcing, and I have seen all three of them at the same place at the same time at the Water Resource Committee,
and they're paying attention. They're advocating for Washington County and our water resources. Here, they're taking information back to their legislators and they hop on stuff like bulldogs. They're awesome. Oh indeed, if you think that it's just somebody in the shoot that points where the congressmen or the senator should go, you
got another thing coming. Then these people got to be different places where the representative where the lawmaker can't get to sometimes and they're the eyes and ears and hands and beat of the lawmaker. So these folks are really moving and grooving Well. The two senators have offices in both Oklahmoma City and Tulsa, and
congressmanber Keene has his district offices and Claremore. And you know, we vote for someone to head off to Washington, DC, and we think they're out there by themselves, but they have staff, have a network, a big support network, everything from office managers, schedulers. Congress Member Keen has now done one hundred in person town halls around the district, which is very unusual in this day and time. And some's got to schedule all that stuff and
then all the constituent services. Yes, now when we meet with these folks, we can ask them questions. I know that there's going to be like a panel, but will we take questions from the ground. Absolutely, So there again, they're going to inform the audience about what their roles are and the kind of services that are available. Everything from if you got lost mail, they might help you track that down, services for veterans, services for
the aging, for medicare. If you've got needs in your district or your area, your counter, your city that there could be federal help with in some way. If you want to request a flag that's been flown over the United States Capital. I mean all kinds of things, but they'll have a purpose and they're the go to people for our area. Wow, that is
that is really tremendous. And Q and a sorry I got sidetracked, Yes, Q and a little mini town hall maybe at the end for folks who are not aware of the group, kind of tell us a little bit about it, you know, kind of give us a little background here. We are the Republican and Other Conservatives of Washington County and association that we started last fall. Our mission is to promote Republican and conservative values through an informed,
active electorate. And our monthly meetings are held the third Monday, usually at Crossing Second sometimes adjustments. Yeah, ice storms, ice storms. Yes. We encourage everyone to join us in anyone Welcome. We try to have programs that encourage being informed on what is going around in our community, issues like the water last time. So we're an election year, and we are in
an election year. You know. You know, one thing that I've noticed at the times that I've been there, I walk up and I'm seeing people that I wouldn't have dreamed in a millionaires would be there. Folks who would probably consider themselves an independent or maybe even democrat, And they said, you know what, it's information, and that's why I'm here. I'm gonna hear what's being said. And that's kind of you know, that's always been the
drawer of the information. We're fun, we're friendly. We welcome anyone who would like to come. These are free events, though we do encourage people to come early and dine at Crossing Second. Oh god, yeah, you better. It's a delicious, delicious menu there. I've at it all, and people can order and eat during the meeting as well. And we are this is a very nonpartisan meeting that we're hosting here. Yeah, but like
you said, it's a great place. We do it in the back, and in the back is huge because there's a game room and there's a place where you know, they have a bands and what have you. But it's big enough that it can fit everybody, but it's also small enough that you can hear everything that's going on. That's why I like and get to know people. So bring a friend. Yeah, please bring a friend, and
you're going to see friends there. And it's a really pretty much kind of an informal town hall when you kind of describe it as that kind of an informal town hall. Yeah, we're very crisp about a meeting. To start straight up, A six throw done by seven five, and again there'll be
Q and A at the end of their presentation. We also have a little feature at the beginning called a story Past, and we bring in a person who just shares a snippet, a snapshot of something political or something that has influenced politics in Washington County or the state, or the role maybe they had. And we just had some really fun and fascinating little nuggets about surprising people and things. It's worth it just for that because that's pretty entertaining. Plus
you learn something. I love it when you have funding the accidentally learned something. Yeah, started to accidentally learned something. I walked away with some knowledge. I thought I was just going to get a chuckle. But it's really a lot of fun. And that is our Republicans and other conservatives Washington County Rock. And once again, this is going to be April fifteenth. What time did you say? We started six and it's seven right. You got
a timekeeper, don't we? But people can stick around afterwards. They usually do, Yes, last one. We didn't get home until nine o'clock because people wanted to stick around talk first about the issues and just make friends chat. Yeah, and why not. I mean it's there, and you know, you sharing and her husband really do a darn good job of making everybody if you welcome there, and of course say, it's kind of like being in somebody's you know, uh house almost you know, if they got a
big roomato satio area there you go. I just gotta say, but it's got that kind of comfort there. I want to thank you both for coming in.
