Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome. It's time to visit with Senator James Langford. First of all, good morning to you, and how'd your day so far?
You know what, it is an early beautiful morning in Washington, DC this morning, but it is still facing through the same challenges we've had in the past, and at some point we're going to get these resolves. But yeah, doing well. God's still on the throne. We're still going at the work well.
We've got funding coming up here, and wow, give us an update on how that's going. I'm almost afraid to ask.
Yeah, you should be. So there's twelve appropriation bills that are supposed to be voted on before September the thirtieth. Chuck Schumer has brought up exactly zero of those, not a single one that he has brought up, and so that means we've got to do funding before September the thirtieth of this year. Next year will be the year of the tax so we'll work through that in the next basically nineteen days. We've got to be able to finish up all of the appropriations work and fight over
that on how that's going to actually be done. We've got to get that resolved to be able to fight off a government shutdown once we get into next year. Regardless of who wins the election, Republicans or Democrats House Senator White House, We're going to face tax policy next year because the twenty seventeen built expires in December of twenty twenty five, and if we don't act on tax next year, taxes go up for every single tax bracket
in America. And I know Kamala Harris is walking around the country telling everyone that the Trump tax cuts only affected billionaires, but I would tell you it was every single tax bracket in America went down. Every small business their taxes went down, All of those all were affected. If we don't act on it, it is four hundred billion dollars in new taxes that come down by January one of twenty twenty six. So it is exceptionally important that we get on this tax issue. And we've got
we have multiple meetings the Shriller Tax Writing Committee. We've got multiple meetings going through already right now. I had many yesterday and the day before doing some planning on it. But the American people have to decide Noveber what the direction is going to be on tax lawsy when they actually vote.
There's a lot hanging in the balance here, Senator, Just a lot, it appears.
Is there's a lot in the balance on decisions on direction of the country. As people vote this November, they're going to determine how we're going to enforce crime in America, if we're going to force our southern border and protect it. They're going to make a determination what the direction is going to be on tax policy, on our economy. Obviously, Joe Biden and kamalai Aris have overseen an enormous spike in inflation. We continue to see high rates from mortgages.
All of those things are results of their policies. And while they're trying to blame it all on President Trump and COVID, it was actually the policy they implemented post COVID President Trump left office that really made the dramatic change. Just to give you a side by side, I was looking to do numbers from the end of the Trump administrations, and now gas prices are up almost fifty percent, rents across the country are almost fifty percent. We've had more
than twenty five percent increase in food costs. Some of those like egg other things have gone way more than that. So these are all the results of policy decisions that have been made. And again in the Americans are going to make their choice in November which direction they want to go out.
Senator, I've been hearing some Democratic politicians running for office here in Oklahoma stating that the reason the energy prices and the region the energy situation is the way it is. That's mister Trump. We're still operating under his policies. Is that what's going on there?
Yeah, they're trying to have it both plays. Kamala har steps out of it, says that we're producing more oil now than we were having the history of the country, and Shery takes credit for that. That is the Trump policies. It just takes years for the things to be able
to roll up. We saw a dramatic increase in energy exploration under the Trump administration because of the regulation They've got there to do it clean, to do it safe, and also to be able to do it at all, to be able to make sure that we have energy production in America. But what's happened is now the Biden administration is cut off offshore drilling, off all kinds of drilling on any kind of federal lens that chokes off the future of energy prices for us, which makes a
huge difference right now. China is having a huge struggle in their economy. They are really having a tough time right now, and so they're using less oil in the Chinese counomy, which is causing a decrease in price. Many people have notice here in Oklahoma that prices have gone down some. That is a global issue that's actually happening. That's a good thing for us to be able to have our energy production here and to be able to
make sure that's happening. That's certainly not something that's happening in the Biden administration.

Do you encourage people to be able to pray for the nation as many people stopped and for the country yesterday on Notmber the eleventh. All of us remember what was happening that day and the response of the but courageous team to be able to pray for the nation. Very for the peace in Israel. They're fighting terrorism right now in this red Senator company, But I'm encourage peable not lose continue to be able to serve our neighbors.
Let's do what Americans do. Let's do it well and set the example for the rest of the gonna will be turned around. It's not just through a vote. The voting is important to each of us. Actually getting a chance to be able to serve the people around us and do what we say is important.
