Good morning, good morning, good morning. Welcome, welcome, welcome man. It's time now for our community connection right here on K one, the one you trust. And boy, oh boy, boy, it's eye's great to have good friends dropped by, especially some semi regulars like this Hannah. But Hannah, we're talking Oldies and Good East Car Club today, and you brought along Raymond with you. How you doing, Raymond? Real good?
Thank you? All right? What's going on? So we are inviting everyone to the thirty sixth annual Oldies and Good East Car Show in downtown Dewey this year, we're gonna have it same spot is last year, in between Dewey Hotel and Tommic's Museum, Saturday, September sixteenth. Well, this is gonna be great, and I understand Raymond. We got a lot of trophies. Folks are gonna be taken home some pretty good stuff, that's true. We have two main classes. We have a ninety three and up, which has
two individual trophies for that class. Then we have all the other cars that are entered in a Classic class and those trophies will be twenty top winners with five I'm sorry, five top of the twenty included in the winners, and we will call those up at the end of the ceremony and recognize him individually.
Danny said, we've got some plaques car placks too, right, Yeah, we have fifty dash plaques to the first fifty that are there that morning, and with our trophies on top of the high five top twenty in late model, all of the high five winners get a cash prize, and then we also have some choice trophies as well, like Mayor's Choice, police Chief Choice, and a Lady's choice trophy. Now, is it true that the police chief every now and then gives it to car he knows he can't catch.
Yeah, ye, sometimes most likely to outrun the police. Cheap career. I heard that. That's want to make sure it's true. Yeah, Now, Raymond, I understand we're gonna have some vendors there so when the folks come by, they doesn't cost nothing to take a look at the cars. But we've got some food and drink of things. That's correct in the alleyway. We'll have vendors, food vendors, and we'll have also merchandise vendors. And some of the vendors there are our sponsors as well. Very good.
I like that everybody gets to have some fun. Looks like the Wather's going to cooperate pretty good with you here. I'm kind of looking long range. Looks like it's going to be in the upper eighties, right around maybe nineties, but you know what anymore nineties of Spring Day. Yes, we've had them when they were not so good. Correct, Well, this is going to be great. Hen what's it cost to get your car in?
So for registration it's twenty five dollars to bring your car. For the public, it is completely free to come look at the cars and shop with our vendors as well. We also have a silent auction going on from ten to two thirty. Well, in the auction a little bit earlier than that, we've got things like new old stock car parts, car memorabilia. We've got some other neat things to sell, like a snap on pizza oven. Oh
no, it's one of the things we've got. So a lot of a lot of good car stuff for people to bid on and take home with them. Well, very very good. Now, I understand we raise a lot of money here for charity, don't we ram it? We have In last
year we were able to give a little over ten thousand dollars. Three thousand plus was to the Tri County Tech We have we sponsor Toolbuffs giveaway for four particip four of the top students tube from Auto Body and two from a pair and uh we schedule the time we buy the tools and then of course we just give it to And we've had some really uh positive response with regards to students coming back. We're saying, hey, we really appreciate that that helped
us so much, et cetera. Well, that's really good, and it's really good and there are a lot of other charities to benefit from this too, because you know, we're just a generous community. You guys are a generous club. I mean, let's not. First of all, you got the fun of having all these great classic cars and then you just take them around everywhere. Now I understand Fridays are a big night for y'all. Friday
as a cruise night. They designate different places. Sometimes we go U sometimes when we're at the parking Eastland and first sometimes and in other various places. But it's really left on something. One one time we went to Sudan, Kansas, so we just go all over it and just have a good time on Friday nights. Do you see your a good friend Buck while you're up
there? Yeah, this next week next week during the fair on Friday, will actually be cruising to the fair September eight, the Washington County for Yeah that. I was there last year when you guys had the cards set up right out there in the parking lot, right out between the school and the and the fair grounds everything. Yeah, my gosh, that was dazzling. Yeah, it worked out really well. We had lots of fun. So we're going to do it again this year. Good thing my cell phone didn't
run out of film. Let's take a lot of pictures and my guys, Wow, so this is really good. And you know, this is really a fun, fun club, isn't it. Oh it is, and it's it's fun to get new people in. And I've heard the comments that we really liked this club because you're first of all, and that you are curing and let's say we give to the community. So that's that's been one of our growing cars. Well, Hannah, I see nothing but smiling faces and
gleaming the machines whenever I come to one of your shows. Yeah, it's lots of fun. One thing that we're thankful for too. We really enjoy getting to give back to the community. But the community has been so generous to us as well through door prizes, sponsorships, advertising, all kinds of stuff. This community is just wonderful. And if we want to know more about the club, how do we find out more about this show, shows
to come and maybe how to join. Absolutely so on Facebook, we have a page for the Oldies and Good East Car Club on there you can join and follow us and see what we have coming up as far as our shows, maybe what shows will be traveling two together and we meet once a month on a Tuesday evening each month, and if they would like to join, we'd love to have new people and they can come join and get their their little license plate for joining and we enjoy it. It's lots of fun,
just having fun. Yeah, well that's great. I want thank you both for dropping by today. Yeah, we appreciate thank you for having us. Not a problem. We'll be up there and you know taking in the view on the sixteenth there, it's going to be a lot of fun up there and Dewey, so I want everybody to be there. It's the thirty sixth Annual Big Car Show that we have up there with Oldies Goodies Car Club. Thank you, thank you. We'll be right back with more of our community
connection in just a moment, right here on Kay one. How does timhow at Arnold Moore and DeCamp pul the home. No, he's done a good job after a funeral.
