her anywhere near any of us if she's not feeling good. By the way, thanks for sending me that picture of the Shaluti bag because im trying to imagine this. That looks pretty darn handy. Yes, it's a cone shape bag typically in Germany, filled with all kinds of school supplies. Ours is a little bit more Carrey friendly. It's a little nice bag with a handle and the kids get to put things in there like erasers, pencils, temporary

tattoos. They have stickers, they have candy, there's all kinds of good stuff. That's as it is fun and the good news is kids twelve and underget in free. They can buy their tickets in advance. It'll just speed up the check in process, so super super easy. Yeah, we got some games for adults too.

We do have games for adults. We have a Hummer slogin and then of course the Zoo Fall again is really family friendly. We have the beer Stein Relay competition and then the Beerstein Competition. Relay, you just need to get four people, so three of your best friends and yourself could be family members. You're going to do relay, just have to be twenty one and older.

And then the Beerstein competition is the one that everyone anticipates where they have to hold the one leader Stein of beer and not spill any can't binger arm. There's all these rules and the winner will get one hundred dollars in cash, so you can't go wrong with that. The relay team gets two hundred dollars in cash. They get to split it, so not too bad, and a fun Octoberfessed T shirt. There you get one of a kind collectors absolutely IMC and it's somebody I know. It's somebody we both know. I

know. We revealed that last week. We wanted to give a big shout out to Bartlesville Radio and our very own Tammy Brink. Mandy is on the board and she will again be our MC. She always makes it super fun and she gets everyone to play the games and so it makes it a hooped. She has a lot of what it's gonna be great. Yeah, no, you know you're talking about some of the food that we're going to have here, yes, you know, and I see Prices Mark met Market.

It's going to be involved. See I'm salivating already. Yes, Prices book Market, who brings all the wonderful brats and Knockwurst and all the different typical German food. We have nothing but cakes. We have Frey Meat to Heaven who does like a fried cheesecake, which is pretty cool. The Noodle Truck which has the most amazing Macaranie cheese ever, Tats tater Truck, who I hear is just super super popular, and barbas Are everyone loves their potatoes,

and she also has nachos. We have the ok Who's which is us? And we have the apple strudle, so come get your apple strudle. And then we also have freeze dried candy, which I hear is like super popular with the kids, tea, teenagers, young people. All of the interns that work for me during the festival couldn't get enough of the freeze dried candy at SunFest. Okay, now I got to get into the loop here because I'm listening something. So we got to do the freeze riede candy. I

gotta I gotta taste test. Yes, you've got to come out and try it. I'll let you all know. Apparently there's all kinds of left over like skittles that are freeze dried. Really yes, wow, I know it's super cool. And then of course it's it's I don't think it's cold, it's just freeze driede gotcha. The beer and wine, of course, is always an important popular thing at Octoberfest. Ele We have palace rooms who will

be serving the wine and of course pretzels. We have Scissor Tail Brewing Company, Fat Toed Brewing Company and our very own local Cooper and Mill, which we're very pleased to have, and they will all have wonderful delicious beers that they have broods specifically for Octoberfest. So yay, yay that from right down the street exactly the very very exciting and of course they will help us play all the games. They'll be filling all those big one leader steins, so

you can't go wrong, Tom, you can't, you can't. You know. It's nice. So we get our local people that are involved with this too. They have just as much fun as OK does. Absolutely we keep coming back. We have over fifty volunteers, and of course there is still time to sign up. If you want to volunteers, just go to the okmusic dot org page. If again you click on Octoberfest, you'll see a link to volunteers. We have a few spots left. Why would you want

to volunteer? Well, Number one, it's the nice thing to do. It's a way to make a difference in your community. It's fun. It's fun, it's a way to make new friends. And we give you a free food voucher so you get in free. You'll also get to eat for free, so you can't really go wrong in that. So come on out and help us. Okay, Oh, this is going to be a lot of fun. Now, we have some great sponsors, and I see that DSR is one of our big ones. DSR is our huge sponsor. Talked

about that a little bit with Nathan last time I was here. Of course, we could never replace John Bond and all that he did for the Bartlesville community, but we are so blessed and so grateful to have DSR be our

big corporate sponsor for this event. They are also our big corporate sponsor for Chris Kendle Market, which is also coming up November eleventh and twelfth, and so a huge shout out to DSR and a huge shout out to John and just saying thank you for all that you did for our community and for OKAM music. John's gift for yes, absolutely his legacy most definitely will and so that's why we want to honor him. And we are very excited to be able to do that and very proud to be able to do that. Oh,

very very good, very very good. Now this is this seems like there's just so much going on here, and we're going to fit this in in four hours. We're going to try maybe maybe six three to nine six. I've seen things kind of go but that that can happen. That can happen. But it's always a good time and it's always a lot of fun. And except for maybe one year, every time the weather has been picture perfect I can remember. It's you know, we've been very fortunate. It's

rained a few times and then stopped right before the event. We've had a little bit of wind occasionally. Last year was a little windy. But this year, knock on wood, seriously, knock on wood. I think it's going to be a beautiful evening. So we invite people to come out again. Where on Saturday, October seventh, three to nine pm between fourth and

fifth Street on Dewey if you don't know where that is. We're right next to the RSU building downtown Bartlesville. And it seems like the TV stations from Tulsa like to come up and take a look, see, don't they every once in a while. How you doing exactly? So be prepared you might get to be on TV and you can also come out and hopefully, depending on what's going on at the Capitol, you might get to see Senator Daniels out there, ask her what's going on. Representative Kane, and thank them

for all that they do. They are a huge supporter of the arts. We are very grateful to them. They help us secure funding and help let the legislators know that the arts are extremely important to all communities throughout Oklahoma. So thank you to both of them. Now, ok music is a very beautiful facet of our community because our community is just a big like a fabric here that's all woven together here. But this is this is something that's really

kind of magical. Now we do the festival each and every year and those go off and it's just splendid but year round we have fun and we kind of remind ourselves that the festival is not exactly free. We have to kind of maintain what we're doing not only for entertainment, but all for our education for our kids too, and that's why we have fun events like october Fest, like Chris Kindlemarket and a few others along the way to kind of keep it a top of mind that we got to take care of this correct.

It is a fundraiser for us, So of course we appreciate everyone who comes out and supports Octoberfest, supports the art, supports, supports OKM, because all the funding does go for children's programming for educational purposes as well as the festival programming that we bring. And you know, we try very hard to give back to the community. So that's why children twelve and under are free.

Children are free at the festival, Children twelve and under are free at Chris Kendall, and so we really do try to give Most of the games are also free, and the act all of the crafts are free for the kids at Octoberfest. So again it's a way to give back to our families and we thank them for spending their time and coming out. And of course

education is extremely important. You know, think about a world of silence with no Mo's art or no you know, country music or no theme to Jaws if if you did have music, you know, and and it is very important. And the cultural aspects of learning about other countries, I think is also equally important. And so this is a way for children to get introduced to that in a fun way. You don't even know that you're maybe being

educated, you're just experiencing something really fun. And we hope it's also a unique way for those in Bartlesviield to get you introduced a little bit into polka dancing, into the German Verian traditions. It's just a it's a special date and so we welcome everyone to come out and participate in that. It is a lot of fun. Yeah, I will tell you. Growing up near Chicago, I got introduced to all that different cultures pretty quick because people were

inter marrying into different families for like one generation off the boat. And now to see this kind of all right here on one city block, it's really a neat thing. It kind of brings back so many good memories of being a kid and just all the fun that way music is awesome, so I can take it. You're going to be out there, Tom, You're going to join us. Awesome, you know, excellent for the world. I want to thank you for being here with this, and I want to thank

everybody at OKAM for all their hard work. Thanks. And not only are the great friends in our community, are the people we know, and they are people who care about our community too, and they just do such an awesome job everything from the interns of the volunteers they do folks who will do all the wheeling and dealing. We could not do it without them. So

please come by. Say hi to the staff, Say hi to Rose who will be at children's programming, and thank you again to Bartlesviell Radio for supporting us. Mary Lynn, always a pleasure. Don't make it so long next time, Okay, I won't, alrighty? Thanks who has been listening to community Connections
