We are live and directed with more of our community connection. We have Okay music with us, and we have rows here with us. And John, how are you guys doing? We're doing good? All right? So what do we have going on today? Well, I'm gonna let John talk first, but it is time for October Fest. We're all excited about it. Oh my goodness sakes yes, October right through the hit September, October right around the corner of by golly, we got it got very very fast.
It's October seven, three pm to nine pm. Looking forward to having a good day, good weather, a lot of people out and now we're ready to talk to you about volunteers which we need to help us get ready. Well, it's a lot of working for those. Any help anybody can give us, particularly some of our banking friends who are good at collecting tickets,
because we have an offer going on a ticket sales October one. Our three dollars less than normal normally there are ten dollars total and fifteen dollars total. But you have the three dollars reduction that quickly. I hope you'll do that. It's gonna be a lot of fun. It's it's a kid friendly event. It's fame adventurous. We're gonna get out and do the old family routine. See what we can do, So go have a lot of fun.
Well it sounds like it ros Well, how about food. Everybody wants to know about food, I'm telling you, So we have all kinds of German food. That's gonna be like warm pretzels, savory brought, delicious apple strudle and other delicious German foods. And there's also gonna be like a cheesecake, but cake, noodles, street tacos and lots lots more oh my, oh my. And then you know, since it is a family fun venturous day,
we have whole games for all the children as well as adults. So if you're good at cornhole, acts, throwing red beer, pong, the game of life is going to be live. That's gonna be something. Yes, I like that. I look at that cool. And there's gonna be put putt golf. And you know, some of the younger children could even
do some of these things, but we have games for them too. We have the jumpy bounce house, arts and crafts, and we have the duck race, I mean, and then they all get something you know, in a bag to take home. That's our theme for the for October fests. Okay, well this is gonna be just a ton of fun. Now where are we going to be stationed? Right there by the building? Yes, we'll be between fourth and fourth straight on Doory. That's the harder downtown.
Lots of parking in the bank's parking in the school and the churches close by. Very handy. Hope everyone will have a great time. It's a good block. We've used it several times and it's a lot of fun looking forward to it. It's three pm to nine pm Saturday, October seventh, so pray for good weather. We'll have a lot of fun. As Rosa saying, there's many many things to do, some of the new, some of the fantastic things. So when you get down to the dancing part, we
want you in good shape for the Chicken dance. So you know, we got the whole thing and it ought to be a lot of fun for a big, young, old and everybody. So I have a good time. Now. We got some music being provided by some old favorites, don't we. We do the Black Spiel and King Cabbage is going to be there.
The American German Society dancers from TOFA are going to be there. They're always fun, they are, and they're there's also going to be like beer and wine for the adults, you know, and then they have a beer race and all those kind of things. But most of all, right now we're
looking at doing the volunteers. Be sure to go on our website which is okay, I'm music dot org backslash Events and just pull down Octoberfest and it'll have volunteer and it'll have our whole schedule on there, and we'd love to have you come out and as being a community project and help us, you know that that is going to be a lot of fun. And I can't think of a better time a volunteer can have is to help other people have fun themselves, because you're gonna have a lot of fun just watching them.
Why have fun with the kids all the time, you're in your element road. I know when you come out, you can support the arts and do a wonderful thing for the city, keep the community the water, help us with our wells, and have a good time. And volunteers God have a good time as well. So it's fun for everybody. So we look for the whole family, and we hope you can. We hope you enjoy it. You know, we just wrapped up with the festival not that long ago
really, and that was a tremendous festival. But it's events like this to keep the wheels turning so that we can bring the festival each and every year and some of our educational projects going along as well. And so you know, some people might call it fund raising. I call it fun crazy because we're raising a lot of fun while we're raising about that's absolutely. You know, after October Fest comes Chris Kendall and there'll be more information on that.
But the dates are the eleventh and the twelfth, and it's going to be over at the Hilton Garden Inn. Okay, so we gotta remember Hilton Garden Inn. And expanded to two count new days, two days. Also in November is Giving Tuesday, the last Tuesday of the month, and then we swing into December. And do you know what happens in December? It's say Nick stay for the children. They love that and the adults love that too, that's right, they're it's it's it's a con tells us something and it
goes on the kids talk about it. So next year it's going ready for this stampe and that stamp and it's a lot of fun. And you know, that's what it's all about for us. It's the music and the music enjoyment it can bring to kids and where it can go for kids and thinking about their fecture. So it comes on us plays. It's gonna be a lot of a lot of fun. So the fall is really where it's kind
of happening. We've got October Fast, We've got Chris Kendall mark two days, and we also have Saint Nicholas, and you know, it just kind of builds on itself and then once again getting ready for festival. And I like the fact that Okam is so vibrant, it is so alive, and it's so in our community at so many different points in our calendar year.
You know, we have we tried to do it so that we have something each and every you know, during that the whole year, not just the one or two weeks that you know the festival used to be yea, but something for everyone to come and join. And it helps with the name recognition, doesn't it. It's anonymous with fun and great times, absolutely and you know, for the children, it should never stop. You can't have a once a year event. They can have their birthday and that's it. That's
you know the rest of the time they're growing and going. So give them something to think about, something to do, something to enjoy. And it really pays off, it does it really does. We have you know, children under twelve or free. Mine were kind of costs. Oh you mean to the event. Oh they cost the law, don't they But free to
the event. It is free to the event, and that that's a probably a money saver for you know, the family because they can kind of do their thing, and then we have the kids and they can do We can have them and entertain them too. Now, we brought our youngest to this we first got here and she went home very, very tired. So you know, if the kids got a lot of energy, they can expand it there and they'll sleep very well that night. I'm just telling you from a
fair who knows beg fun. It's wonderful that we're able to do that, and it's because we are some wonderful people in this community that don support us, and we fresciate that per very much. Unfortunately, over the lost month and John Byrne, which is very sad and for the entire community. So we're working hard to continue to keep it going. And we need volunteers, right Rose, We sure do. and you can't go wrong. And folks, I'm going to be doing at article on this on the website and you'll be able to see it on the Facebook here a little bit later on today to give you all that information because I know a few of you are out there and say, hey, that sounds like fun. I think our group can do this. And if you want to do an individually, the more the merrier, right, you can
also call our office, you know, jop In. We have a really nice gift shop that you can look at and we have some Halloween things in there. Some did not know that, and we have we changed the seasons. We've done things, you know, for the festival. Then we did something for Mother's Day and for Spring and for birthdays and things, and now we're doing things for October for the fall. Tell everybody where you can find
the office. The office is at four fifteen south East Dewey, and you can't miss it because you got the buffalo with the musical notes all over it. Well, you know, our buffalo kind of had an accident, yeah, and I didn't know that, Yes, And the windstorm took and rolled it down the street across the street a little roamed, Yeah, it did roam escaped and so it's in the hospital getting fixed. Okay, Well, well, well we'll just stop buying inside up to volunteer and maybe name drop
off a donation.
