I told him, we're not passing a micro round and then we're not giving it's not our open for so it's information home. Um, my name is Caleb and I am I'm a pastor, and so I'm going to do my best to be as brief as possible. But you know how that goes, of course, because I'm a Baptist Pastor's so thank you. But here's what I wanted. Here's my agenda, here's my my goal. I'm going to be as transparent as possible. I have one agenda and it's advanced the Kingdom
of Gord Jesus Christ. That's it. I'm not here on behalf of the political party. I don't care about any of those things. What I care about is the Lord Jesus Christ. I was asked to share tonight, and I will always talk about Jesus in any opportunity that I'm giving. So here I am Matthew. Chapter five gives us a very clear indicator that we ask Christ followers are to be salt and light. This is a picture that's an illustration. Salt is a preserving agent. It is to keep things from becoming
bad or rotten. That's the idea. That's the purpose Christians are to preserve holiness, Biblical holiness, and I'm talking about cultural ideas. I'm talking about biblical holiness and godliness. That's our objective and that's our goal period as christ followers. If we're trying to do anything else, it's going to be a problem. And so light light is another illustration here. Light scatters and darkness. As Christians, we hold the light of the Gospel that dispels the darkness
of sin, of wickedness, of depravity. We offer hope and his name is the Lord Jesus Christ. In Judges chapter six, verses twenty five, twenty six, there is a story about a god in Ginea and Idian has a calling from the Lord, and that calling specifically is to tear down the altar of Bail and Astra. These are two false gods, false ideologies, and they're not just stuck in the Old Testament. They're not. They don't just live there. They continue on in twenty twenty three. Yes, the
idea of bail because here context is King. So we need to have some history here. These gods Bail and Astra that are mentioned in Judges chapter six. Astra was the goddess of sexual activity and fertility, and bail was the god of child sacrifice. Now in twenty twenty three, children are still being sacrificed. They're still being sacrificed at the altar of both of these gods.
But yet they don't look like the primitive altars of the Old Testament. They look progressive, they look fancy, they look shining, they look pretty. I'm telling you this is this is the problem in the world today that we have ignored the God of the Bible for far too long. We've ignored the scriptures for far too long, and it is affecting men, women, boys and girls Christian regardless of the cultural dictates. We have a mandate that calls
us to preserve righteousness and dispel darkness. And the only way that's done is through the Gospel, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not done through a political action party. It is not done through anything else other than the preaching of the Gospel of Romans. Chapter one, verse sixteen says that I am on a shame of the Gospel because it has the power under salvation. That's it, that's the pown. You don't change someone's behavior from the outward stances.
You change their behavior from transforming their heart. And the only way someone's heart is transformed is when the Gospel penetrates a hard and transforms them from one degree of glory to another. Some people might say, well, Caleb, you sound like you're trying to advance in a theocracy here. We don't live under a theocracy. Well, the fact of the matter is that we actually
do live under a theocracy. Most of us submiss them them. The theocracy that we love under is a hedonistic system of humanism, unbridled worship of our self. That's where we live. This is being portrayed and displayed all over in the public square. Human beings are being indoctrinating by the immoral, false god of a human of humanism. And if we truly believe that this is not taking place, we're either a not paying attention or being deceived. Either
either way, they end up harming you and these few period. So in closing, I'm calling us in the room this evening to follow. The mandate in the first printis Chapter sixteen, Verse thirteen or fourteen says be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong, and let everything you do be done in love. Now, what is the most loving
thing that you can do. If I'm heading towards if I see you and you're walking towards a ravine and you're about to step off into that ravine and step over to the edge, and you're gonna fall hundreds of feet down to jagged rocks below. What's the most loving thing? And you have your eyes closed to it and you don't see it, and I stand over in the corner and do nothing. I say, nothing is that loving? No?
No, If I was standing over here in the street, we're going on no Wana road over here, we stood on the street and we saw a giant semi truck heading towards you, and I said, nothing is that loving? Now? Here's what we have, a semist. This is not my idea. These are not my ideas. These ideas were brought about by oh Lord Jesus Christ, not by Caling Gordon. I'm just reading the text.
The text is King, not my opinion. The text is King. Now, if I'm standing in the middle of the road and there is a giant bus coming at me, and Dustin says, Caylo, You've got to get out of the way, And I say, Dustin, you're just being a big age. You're just being hateful, You're just being unloving. And he said, no, no, no, Calin, I'm not doing that at all. There is a bus about to run you over. Please move. That's the most loving thing he can do is to tell me that there is
something coming. And I'm telling you what's coming is a God who will be a exacting wrath on sin. Period. And I don't say that with glee. I don't say that with joy. But I'm telling you there's hope. Here's the hope that Jesus gave it to us. He says, behold, the Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent of your sins and believe the good news. What's the good news That Jesus Christ died on the cross. He came and he lived the perfect life. He died on the cross for
your sin, for my sin. He took every ounce of sin on his lovely head. He died for you. He was put in the grave, and he was late there for three days. But thank God amen that three days later he came up out of that grave. And now we have a justify. We are justified. We have justification before only God. Now what is that? What is just as if I've never sinned. We have the ability to stand before God, not because I've lost them, but because I'm
forgiven. First, John, how get that? How do you put about form? First? You don't love that? Said? If you can bless yourselves that He Jesus is faithful and just to for you and de cleanse you from all of your own all of it, that's the hope we have here, the seven I mean in fight up. SMITHA. Williamson, h Well, I just want to say yes and amen to all that or not bless my heart to hear that. Um, Well, my name is Smith Williamson, and I think you barns well about a year and a half now,
and I have loved it. I've read a lot of different places in my twenty two years of wife and so that says a lot for Barnettsville. Um, it's been a great place to live until recently. And the reason I hear is my hope is to just bring some wide and some clarity to what's transpired lately with the drag show that everyone's aware of that happening, but specifically brings some light to the agreement that was passed at the meeting this past month
in April the agreement between the city and OKQ. So three councilmen voted yes
on this agreement, causing it to pass. And this was unacceptable as the agreement was flawed and insufficient to fulfill the requests of the people and actually the vote of the council, as they sent our attorney for our hundred twenty days to draft ordinances to define obscenity and regulate adult entertainment in Barnsville, and after ninety days he brought this agreement, and given its clear insufficiency, the council
should have voted no, and they should have requested the attorney to take the remaining thirty days left to draft something better and that would be sufficient to the wishes to people and the vote the council in January. But I'd just like to go into some of the issues in the agreement as I've studied it,
and I'm no lawyer. I don't have college agree in this, but I just read through and found these laws that I believe part of the negligence of the council is that they did not properly look at this and really consider what they were voting on. And I think that's negligent and another reason that they should not be our leaders. So the main claim you'll hear from those who
support the agreement and support these three councilors they voted yes on it. Their claim is the agreement is good because government should be slow and they should take time to carefully assess things before taking action. This is not what this agreement does actually, and sorry, hold on, I'm trying to find my place here. So yeah, for government to move slowly, they should have taken
more time to consider this agreement and taken those thirty remaining days. So firstly, the first of law that I saw is that the agreement is between oka EQ and the city. And the issue here is that not as insufficient as it does not regulate any other organizations or individuals in regards to Vidule entertainment. So another group or individual that is not associated with ok EQ decided to host a drag show in the public square, they could do it, and you
have this whole debac going again. And this agreement holds no power to regulate other organizations. So I don't understand how this happened because that's that's very insufficient for the issue. It can if another individual even me could host a drag show and this agreement doesn't regulate me at all, ly regulates one special interest for you. And then secondly, the agreement actually states quote, during the term of the agreement, the city agrees to take no action to further regulate
draft performances or adult entertainment. So, in other words, by passing agreemage, the council has hog type themselves and cannot regulate any adult entertainment or dract performances for the term of the agreement, which makes no sense because our people showed up in masses requesting for regulations on adual entertainment and the agreement says we agree to not regulate adult entertainment for a year, which I don't know about y'all, but that doesn't again those to me. Thirdly, I have a
question for you all, the concerned citizens of Bartlesville. You came before the council for months on end to express your concerns. You've implored the council on our city attorney with regulations on adult entertainment. You've expressed that you do not support public dract shows or the attendance of children. Well, now these council members have responded to you with a question, Hey, you know what, how would you like to help pay for the provision of security for okay a
qu's next family dract show. I don't know about you, guys, but that doesn't seem like a logical response. That is an absurd question to ask us when you showed concern and said, hey, we don't want this happening, and hey, do you want to doing your tax dollars to pay for their security? How about that? That doesn't make any sense at all.
And I will just quote the agreement just for accuracy of the facts that you know, I'm not just making things that were agreement states that during the term of disagreement, the city agrees to provide two undue uniform officers doing Okayques twenty twenty three Pride celebration at the city sole expense to help ensure the safety of all parties. And this is a unique privilege being given to a special in truce group, which is also unacceptable. One, it should not be provided
by our taxpayer schollars. And Okay two can't pay for their own security if they feel they need that for the president. And lastly, and then there's other issues. I'm not giving a completely conclusive, extensive, you know, study report on this. But these are things that I've assume that are very concerning, and I feel that our leaders should have seen all these things.
And I'm just a young twenty two year old and i saw these problems, and I think our council should have given the example of let's do that as well. Let's let's studied this and let's let's do something that's that's better. This is just so insufficient it's actually kind of embarrassing. Lastly, that's perhaps one of my greatest concerns is the innocence of children. I am a huge proponent of protecting children from pornography, from protective children, from sexual abuse and
from being sexualized. This is heartbreaking to me. I want to see many of women that lead by an example of steading it out for protecting children's instance, it should not be exposed to drive shows. This is not right. So I'm disappointed in the lack of leadership, and in one of all I've shared with you, I am in support of removal of council and Dale Copeland, Jim ker Junior, and Lahammizzelle. Thank you for listening. Welcome evening. My name is aa Vaughn. For those who don't know me, I'm
just a guy. So I was asked about nine or ten this morning to speak on representative democracy. I don't pretend to be an expert in this an area. I'm not a constitutional scholar. I am a veteran. I fought for the rights of every single American in this nation. It breaks my heart to see some of the things that we've been seeing transpire over the last couple of years, not just on a local level, but on a national level. But on a local level, we have an obligation and a duty to
stand to protect the least of these children. I don't care what your personal preference is behind closed doors, so far as staying there, that's my stance. And as I go into this, I just want to say I appreciate these men and these women to take time to show up to let their voice
be heard. Righteous righteousness city. With that said, a simple Google search reveals a description of representative democracy as Representative democracy, also known as indirect democracy, is a type of democracy where elected people represent a group of people, in contrasting to direct democracy, which direct democracy is just when we the people establish law and policy. We have representatives for a reason, we the people
trust them to exercise their authority given to them by God. I feel, as a citizen of the city that this authority has been abused and that we've been disregarded. Our trust has been violated. So now I say this, how should these representatives operate? Should it be that they operate with impunity when
they disregard the desires of those they have taken an oath to represent? I say no. Should they operate the fear fear of the battles they may say, in the realm of litigation, or to the expense of such litigation, when we, the people whom they represent, are funding the mechanism by which such battles are to be fought, I say no. They are to exercise the will of the people. Thomas Jefferson said, the will of the people is the only legitimate foundation of any government. I would add to that that
God has the ultimate foundation. We stand upon an act as secondary. So what is the will of the people. Well, I'll tell you two things regarding this. One. The will of the people is not to have sexual immorality on display in the public square period. The will of the people is darn sure not to have our children exposed to the perversions of a French group of severely confused, wickedly corrupted, and spiritually bankrupt minority minority within our community.
Two. The will of the people should be in line directly with the moral standards by which our laws are established. These moral standards being a direct reflection of the standards or laws set forth by our creator God. If these standards by which our society operates, or all of human kind for that matter, if these standards are jeopardized and the slightest by the haughty and perceivably pious representatives actions and whom we the people have placed our trust, they must be
held to account for our creator, God has placed them in authority. So what should we do with those who do not uphold the authority God has granted them righteously? Roman says, do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. We can love our neighbors while standing our ground. I'm going to read this because this is the popular text that everybody, both inside and outside of Christianity goes to when it comes to submission to authority. Romans
thirteen one through four. Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. There is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore, whoever resists the authorities resist what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judge. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority to do what is good, and you will receive his
approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain, for he is the servant of God. I say again that says he is a servant to God an a venger who carries out God's wrath on the wrong door. I didn't see any wrath being broken down on any wrongdoing that we observed in our community. People misconstrue this whole verse. They take it out
of context. Yes, I'm to be subject to the authorities, but my ultimate authority says that they have to operate in a certain way as well, and when their authority is abused on the citizens on us, we have an obligation and a duty to our God in Christ Jesus to stand against that. Yes, so I want to break that down a little more. We the people have an active role in the governance process. God says for us to be subject, be under the authority of not to cowtell and run when sin
is running rampant in our community. The leader's role in this passage is to carry out justice to the wrong viewer and to uphold peace for the good of the people. Now, I'll contend that there is nothing good about sexually explicit and perverse dancing in the face of my children or anybody else's in this community or that. So what do we do with those leaders who act contrary to
God's will within their appointment? We bring it to their attention. We pray we act within the process of the system that we've established as we the people under God. With physical Exodus twenty three one through two. One in two one through two, that's almost first. It says, you shall not spread a false report, You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness. You shall not fall in with the man to do evil, Nor shall you bear witness in a lawsuit siding with the many so as
to pervert justice, pervert justice. A lot of that is going on right now. I would call you, guys, to pray, to trust in Christ, but to stay together, let your voices continue to be heard, and hold those accountable who replaced our trusting, who have violated our trust First Grenthean sixteenth thirteen through fourteen. As my brother in Christ, Caleb alluded to be watchful, stand firm, and the faith act like men, be strong, that all that you do be done in love. I'm a veteran.
I fought in combat. I'm not up there bragging on that. I'm up there. I am proud of it. But I'll tell you this, I'm not running to any lines to be combative with people. I'm not running any lines to spread violence or hate. I'm actually to the contrary, trying to love on my neighbors. As Pastor Caleb alluded to, I'm running to stand there and say, look, if you do you want to hurt me, here I am. But you're not going to hurt them. This message gets
lost. It's it's lost right now. Understand this. They the council members, are representatives have been placed into a position of authority by the ultimate authority of God. Their job is not to active fear of litigation or to be willing to compromise or negotiate with sin, to come out and speak. I've been sitting in the back, though, and I've been watching my brothers and sisters in this community plead with the council stand against sin in our community.
Some of those members of that council claim to love Christ. I'm no perfect saint. I sin daily. I repent daily. Though also I go to my Lord and Savior and I tell him, make me different every day, make me strong in You every day. Help me to love my brothers and sisters every day. Love doesn't come in the form of tolerance when it pertains to sin. You might not like that. To defend you, I'm not sorry. Operating out of fear and for God in a pursuit to uphold righteousness
should be our council members number one. That is their responsibility. Some of them have failed to do that. They should not be our leaders or our
representatives anymore. My name is Aaron barn and thank God for your time or even My name is Dustin Owen. I am a youth pastor at Barnesville First Baptist Church, vice chairman of the thirty fourth Precinct of the Washington County GOOP but I'm here as a husband, a father of four wonderful children, and a deeply disturbed citizen of Bartlesville, as I have watched the darkness that is encroaching upon our community here. As I stated at a recent city council meeting,
I have not been involved in politics much at all until recently. So why recently, Well, that's my aim tonight is get to give you a bit of a summary, a bit of a timeline on the way things that have progressed here in Barrowsville now that have been a bit of going second to last. Is you're repeating a lot of what others said, So that's all right. But my goal is that perhaps there are some of you in here who are like me, who maybe have thought that it's not your place,
or that Christians ought not be involved in these things. I pray the Lord will change your hearts and show you how imperative it is that we stand in the gap for those who are defenseless. It is no secret by now that in September of last year, Oklahoman's for a Quality hosted their annual Pride event
this year in Unity Square. The drag show portion of this event, however, was the catalyst for all that is happening currently, men dressed as women, dancing provocatively and engaged in lewd behavior in the presence of children, who
even accepted tips from those in attendance, yes, including the children. Shortly after the event, Shannon King, a godly mom and our community author a change dot org petition calling on our city council to enforce the ordinances we already have in place or l seek to draft ordinance to quote ensure that this never happens in Bartlesville again. On October third, the city council heard the petition and Bartlesville citizens showed up in force to show support of the petition and the
regulation of these draft shows. Shortly after this meeting, Shannon King formed a group of several pastors and concerned citizens of Bartlesville to inform us that she was approached by Mike Bailey and other city leaders in order to negotiate outside of city council with Oklahoma's for Equality and the petitioners represented by those of us in this
group. Now, this is important. This is important because it shows that from the beginning, the representatives of Bartlesville were ading, avoiding enforcing the laws, and acting in the best interests of those they proclaim they represent. In
fear of litigation, we decline to negotiate with OKDQ. In November, City Attorney Jess Kane gave his report on his understanding of our current laws and ordinances and potential options for the city Council to pursue, and at the January meeting, the council voted four out of five in favor of having Jess Kane look into drafting ordinances regulating adult entertainment in Bartlesville, and was given one hundred and twenty days to do so, even having been given the permission to obtain outside
council for assistance in developing these municipal ordinances. And finally, at the April third meeting, the citizens of Bartlesville were malware that rather than act according to how he had been instructed to act by this vote, Jess Kane instead began negotiating again with ok EQ, allowing them to have their drag events indoor indoors for one year without regulating age limit. When council members were asked to vote,
they voted three out of five in favor of this agreement. So this is why we are pursuing recall, friends, because if you go back, and I encourage you to do so. If you've not watched these city council meetings, I encourage you to do so, and not to hear necessarily what the council members are saying, but listen to the citizens of Bartels building.
I encourage you to do that because the scales are tipped overwhelmingly in favor of protecting children from these events, and yet those who claim they are representing bartels They'll have failed to do so. As you have heard from mister Vaughan tonight. That's how representative government ought to Representative governments is not there to act in a way that they think it's best for the citizens they represent, with no
accountability. No representative government means that they will do the will of the people. They will act according to the will of people. That is why we are pursuing recall, because these three city council members have failed in their duties to represent the people's desires. Now, I want to address those of you in this room who are believers, who are perhaps on the fence. Perhaps you have got to yourself that you shouldn't be involved like I did at one
point, as I hope. You can see from my brother's commons here, Caleb and Aaron, and my sister Samantha, it is our duty as believers to push back against darkness in our community. Yes, God has sovereignly placed us all here at this time and place for a purpose. God has soveridly placed you and I in a context where the people are the power for a reason. And if the people are the power and we stay sided and we do nothing, then we are absolutely complicit in the sins and crimes that are
being committed against these childrens. This is no political issue. This is a moral issue. This is an ethical issue, and this is a biblical issue. Proverbs twenty four reveals to us that we are called to rescue those who are carried off to death. We are called to seek the good of those who are made in the image of God. We ought to stand firm, stand firm in defense of those of whom Jesus said, let them come to me, brothers and sisters. This is a hill to die on, and
I will die on it. So when it comes to the murder of children in the womb, I will die on that hill. When it comes to the grooming of children, I will die on that hill. You may say, as some professing believers are. Our counsel have said, well, well, God is on his throne, yes, but we should act like he is. And I fear. I fear for those who use the sovereignty of God as an excuse for apathy, as an excuse for complacency and laziness.
I am imploring with you all tonight, push back darkness. Caleb said, we are to be the light light pushes back darkness. Stand firm and fight for the children. Because listen, one thing is for sure. If you don't Christian, who will If we do nothing. Okay, EQ marches on advancing the kingdom of darkness in our community, and it will not stop.
It's time to get involved. And if that's not enough evidence of why we are pursuing, recall look at who is supporting the three council members and Miss Oklahoma's for Equality, who applauded when the agreement was passed Oklahomans for Equality. Jesus said to his disciples, if you were of this world, it would
love you as its own. If brothers and sisters, if if the world or the wicked ever come quickly to my defense, I will know beyond the shadow of the doubt that I have taken missteps in my walk with Christ. But if the world opposes me, I will rejoice to share in the sufferings of my Lord Jesus Christ. You said in John seventy seven, the world hates me because I testify that its works are evil. So let's get involved and without further ado, you've heard the why and the recall, and now
Sarah Burnett's going to come and share the how. Thank you all so much for being here and quartaining the time. Are here una to hearing run. So I'm want to share what the recall will look like. Our municipal charter states that twenty percent of the registered voters of a ward signatures are required to
put a recall in process. What will happen is once those signatures are verified, then it can go to the ballot and all of the voters of that ward will have the opportunity that will get non partisan vote, the opportunity to vote whether to retain or remove that council number per the vote on April third. This is pursuing the recall of words one, two, and three for their vote and great it. So the packets are on flipboards like this need
volunteers to help collect signatures. So I'm going to go through the packets, and then there's two actions you can take at the end of this meeting. One, if you live in ward one, two, or three, please stop at the table in the back and we can get your signature on the petition number Two. If you're interested in helping us collect signatures and volunteers, so go up to that same table and say that's your interest and we'll talk
through it. But these are the volunteer packets. The reasons stated for this recall is that the Bartlesville City Council adopted an agreement with ohit EQ to continue drag shows in the city of Bartlesville. And so this package just includes some very basic forms and if you guys want access to any of this, we can get it in the hands of everybody. First of all, the info sheet, it kind of tells the story which has been outlined as well as
where our currency. The ordinances mentioned topics such as lewdness, sexual or to business and if miners are allowed to be present at those which they are not, and other applicable organments. So that's included. Next is a copy of the agreements with City of Bartlesville and Oklahoma's for Equality the incorporated copied FA the city. Then there's the ward map. It's very important if you sign this petition that you are a registered voter who lives within that ward, so that's
why that's included. And then I just want to show this packet. So this is the petition packet. First, it includes a warning warning it is a felony for anyone to sign an initiative for referendum petition with any name other than his own, or knowingly to sign his name more than once for the measure, or to sign such a petition when he is not a legal voter. So that's included along with the petition, the show cost statement, and
the signatures on the show cost statement. This is the stated reason for the recall. So if you agree with this statement, then we would encourage you
to sign the petition. I'm going to read the show cost statement. Whereas the Bartlesville City Council acknowledged the objections and Bartlesville citizens to dract shows hosted in public and attended by children, and as a result, voted to pursue quote drafting options for possible municipal organization which seeks to define and regulate obscenity in Bartlesville end quote, whereas the Bartlesville City Council instead voted instead adopted an agreement with
ok EQ to continue allowing drect shows in the City of Bartlesville, whereas Dale Copeland voting to adopt the agreement. At the Bartlesville City Council meeting on April third, twenty point three, we the undersigned to hand the removal of Mayor Dale Copealds. And it is the same show cost statement from World two for mister Warren result and the identical show cost statement for Word three Mayor Jim Kerk Junior. So that is the packets and this is going to new thousand percent
insurance to get done. There's over seventy thousand people per word, and we need twenty percent of the registered voters in that ward to sign hard to this petition. Finally, if you would like to help many additional ways or have any questions at all, we have business cards back there on the table we
stake. Then these are free to be distributed. This go to the any Okay Grassroom scott org website, and that website is just a place where you can put your information in so that someone from our team can contact you and make sure your name is on the petition. If then you have been raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is seeded at the right hand of God. Sets your minds on things that are above, not on the things of this earth, where you have died and your life is hidden with Christ. And when Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear
with him in glory. Put to death. Therefore, what is earthly in you sexual im morality, impurity, passions, evil desires, and conviciousness, which is idolatry. This is the ultimate idea that all of this, it is an idolatrous world system. Yes, it is wicked to the core, on an account, on an account that the wrath of God is coming. That's not me. The word of God says, if you do not repent
of your sins, that the wrath of God is coming. And I'm pleading, as a pastor and as a fellow citizen of humanity, repents of your sins and trust the Lord Esus Christ to me, Father, thank you for the opportunity for us to be able to gather here tonight and express our concerns. God, help us to see that your word is pre eminent, that you are pre eminent, Lord Jesus, that this is a this is a
