Speaker 1

Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome. We've got a special edition of our Community Connection today. Hey, young lady, how you doing.

Speaker 2

I'm fine? How are you?

Speaker 1

I'm doing wonderful. We have family healthcare clinics big miles from mammogram coming up next Saturday. That's correct, tell us all about it.

Speaker 2

Well Next Saturday, September the twenty eight, and I'm going to hold my poster. We have our big five K, two K event and starting earlier this week, we are pinking the bill.

Speaker 1

I like that.

Speaker 2

So if you want more information on all of this, I want you to call the clinic which is nine one eight three three six four A two two to get more information. And if you've seen these posters all over town, these are our advertisement for this race which is next Saturday at Unity Square and Mouths for Marra. Grammars are annual events raise funds for breast cancer awareness.

And what we're doing is we're raising these funds so we can provide women bred excuse me, q pons to get mammograms that they might not be able to afford. So anyway, I want to invite anybody to sign up. I have to Facebook pages one for the clinic and one for the mouths from mammogram. And I also, like I said, I've given you the telephone number. We operate Monday through Thursday from eight to four. You can go sign up at run sign up dot com. It'll take

you right to that page. So either of those pages on Facebook is Family Healthcare Clinic of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and then the sign up is run sign up dot com.

Speaker 1

Wow, my goodness, we've got a lot of runners. I know that you need volunteers too, don't you.

Speaker 2

Yes, we do, And anybody who would like to volunteer please contact me. I am Janis Shippy. I'm the executive director at the Family Healthcare Clinic, and you can, like I said, the number is nine point eight three three six for a two two. However, while I have you, I want to give a big shout out to somebody. Jason Qualls has posted on his Facebook page. He does has a long care business here in town. But he also does something else that's really cool. He puts up lighting,

like for holidays. He is advertising for holiday and Christmas lighting. But this is the big deal. Starting up on October the first, he will paint a big breast cancer symbol, which is a big ribbon like this in your yard at no cost. It is pink. However, the only thing he requests is that you make a donation to the Family Healthcare Clinic so we can provide these freem mammograms to women that can't afford them.

Speaker 1

Some pink yards.

Speaker 2

Yes, and so anyway, if you will contact him. He has a Facebook page and I do not have that information, but however, his name is Jason Qualls qua Lls. Big shout out and kudos to him. The second group I want to say kudos to is Lisa Carrey and the people at the United Way. They have been big supporters of our clinic and I want to thank them from the bottom.

Speaker 1

Of my heart. Wow, they are great. They just wrapped up the big golf tournament and everything, but by golly, I tell you what, they've got so much energy and so much goodwill and so many volunteers just to make the thing run. It's incredible.

Speaker 2

One other thing I want to tell you. The event next week starts at nine o'clock at Nity Square over there by the Community Center, and we are going to have lots of things going on. It is a big event for our clinic a big fundraiser. I just encourage even if you don't run, to run, there's a two k wall walk walk walk, and also you can you don't want to do that, you can stay in your own little bed. We have a virtual one, you have

a sleep in one. There's lots of ways. So if you go on our website, you can do whatever you want to.

Speaker 1

Well, that is great. You got options. That's good.

Speaker 2

You have many options.

Speaker 1

Now I want to go into the Family Healthcare Clinic specifically because this is one of the many things you do, and this is your biggest fundraiser. We want to keep that front and center. But you're there for everybody, Yes, sir, we are, and you now take a special clientele.

Speaker 2

Yes we do. We take We just this summer got approved for Medicare, so I'm so excited about that. But we have we take Medicare, we take Medicaid, and we take private pay meaning that if based on income, you walk into our clinic, if you have no insurance, you pay out of your pocket forty bucks.

Speaker 1

That's it.

Speaker 2

And then we offer reduced costs for laboratory stuff like say you want to commune and you need some lab done for a general health panel which includes a CBC chemistry which would check your electro lights and things like that, twenty five dollars. If you need a lipid panel which checks your cholesterol, that's about fifteen dollars. So and however, if that is if you can't afford that, we have paperwork there that you can apply for what we call

our Patient Assistance Program. We can help you fill that out too. If you need other stuff done also, and then we can tap you into resources, other resources to help you apply for Medicaid if you qualify for that, we have the ability to get you directed to where you need to go. But if you come into our clinic one time, we can help you out. We have the ability to tap you into other resources. And like I said, we can help you if you want to come self paid.

Speaker 1

My goodness thinks you got it all.

Speaker 2

Well, we try. We're developing ways to help the members of our community.

Speaker 1

Indeed, there are so many members that need help, and sometimes we got to remind them that you're there. Now, you're right there by the big water tower out there by the research facility, twenty Wesley Boulevard. Yeah, and you can't miss it, No, you can't.

Speaker 2

There's a big sign out on our right at that corner.

Speaker 1

And also again, once again we want to remind everybody we're pinking the bill. We're getting ready here or Saturday, September twenty eight the miles from Mammogram. And once again, you can sign up to run, and you can sign up to volunteer. How do we do that again?

Speaker 2

And you can go on the website and even if you show up the day of the race, we do have same day registration. You can come up and do that too.

Speaker 1

Well. That is great, that is wonderful. I want to thank you Jennis for coming in.

Speaker 2

I want to thank you for inviting me.

Speaker 1

Well, it's always a pleasure. It's always a pleasure. Let's have a good time next Saturday.

Speaker 2

Thank you,
