We have the eighth annual Logan Cochrane Charity event coming up on Saturday June first, ladies, First of all, welcome, we have Claire Bartley also Janet Morland in here and Janet, you're the founder of the charity. Tell us a little bit about this for the folks who don't
know. Okay, this started eight years ago for Logan. He was having difficulties with his heart. He had three open art surgeries lotmark, so we started a charity for him and then it just everybody kept wanting. They had such a good time that they wanted to keep continuing it to grow. And then we found out that he was autistic. So we decided that this will all go to the path of Independence to help all the kids. Well that's great, and Claire, of course under paths Independence. I love your story
too. Just two gals wanted to start at school and yeah, bang we got it. Amazing what can happen? A lot of love and a lot of hard work and both take place here. This is great. Tell us a little bit about Pasta Independence and your association with this and how how you're helping out with the golf room. Yeah. So Past Independence is a private school for children with autism. We are a nonprofit and we serve kids from ages three all the way through high school and even have a few adults.
Janet has approached me many years ago, probably six now, and she had had the golf troom before I had even heard of Logan Cockran Charity or Logan Cochrane, and she had brought in a donation that she had raised through the golf tournament. And then over time the golf tournament has gotten bigger and bigger to where she's involved you players. And this year I think for the first
time, we're going to have the Osage Casino involved. They're going to sponsor a reception the night before and they're giving away a lot of nice things to help out with the golf tournament. No, Janet, this is something like you say, it's been growing and it's a lot of hard work, but it's like it's paid off. It has, So tell us a little bit
about it. Who all's partnering with you to help this take off. Well, Dwayne Bryan right now on the road, I can't be here that I had taken a flyer out to the Osage Casino to see if they would put up our guests, because we have Charles Thompson and his son coming in Casey Thompson, and then we have Bill Kaufman his son j T. They're they're
the Sooner Magic guys, and then Antonio Rick mister Ou himself. They'll all be there where the Anyway, I took that out there and they got a hold of me and Clara wanted us to come out and have a visit. So they wanted to host a big party the night before and it's gonna there's gonna be four bands, a live auctioneer. We've got some great gift items
that's gonna be auctioned off. Skuyler Thompson and then from American Idol, Carly Nash, Hass Miller Band and Austin Dixon will all be there Friday night, that's May the thirty first. It'll start at six o'clock. Wow, that's gonna be great. How does a person get a ticket to this? You don't get a ticket it's open to the public. It is. We will have will have some donation drop offs. I'm sure you will. You show people a good time and everything. And next thing you know that that while
it just flies wide open, it does. This is really Yeah, this is a big thing, isn't red It's it's got it's overwhelming. But I just the staff at path in Pennis and the teachers, they deserve a big shout out. They do, yes. And my buddy Barry Blevan's he brought it on for me. I mean he he's right there and got my back all the time at Simple Simons Pizza my goddess sake. I tell you what, when you reach out to friends, things happen, don't they. And
this is really this is really something else. Now, this is a four person scramble and it's going to be a shotgun start at eight thirty am. Yes at Adams, So Adams he prepared folks, it's going to be. It's all and the way those stages talk, they want to continue to help every year, so it'll be it'll be just a good time for Barters Film what community Living And we have sponsorships still available. are you a golfer? I gotta ask because you do just about everything. You were grilled cheese cheff the last time I saw it, so I'm thinking you probably do a little bit of everything. I actually have never played golf. Oh really, Okay, it's time to watch this. Maybe I should be like if they don't, if they don't donate enough, and I'll golf for them. Yes, yes, yeah, yea. Now they aren't gonna want me, so maybe I get lucky beginner's luck. Well, this is
great, This is great. And of course this has been going on now for for several years, and this partnership has really been amazing, especially for you guys. Yes it is. It's been really nice for PTI because Janet's taking care of everything every year and she does a great job and we just kind of show up and cheer everyone on. She's great, wonderful. You got a big mouth, you got to. You've got a very very genuine way about you, and I think that's why people want to be with you
and help you out in your endeavors. We try hard. Well, you've been succeeding, and we want this to be a flying Sussex once again. The tournament itself is coming up on Saturday, June first at Adam's Golf Course and the reception is the night before and it's going to be out at the new oce Age Casino Hotel. And this is going to be a stellar lineup with all those artists. And yes, just walk in and have us. If you have anything you want to autograph, bring it. Okay, mm,

You see, these things are personal.
Everybody's got a story, not everybody shares it, and everybody's got a spot in the heart for something, and when they find it, you know, they make sure that everyone else can do a little bit better. And I really find that that's kind of neat PTI is. I think everybody needs to go and have a visit with PTI. Don't see what this is all about. That's what Dwayne said. He said he didn't have a clue until he got to meet Claire and go into PTI, and it changes your whole
world. Like Logan, he is so smart. And everybody said you taught him, you taught him. I said, no, he taught me. Wow, that's amazing. He's nonverbal, but he's he's coming up some words, talking a little bit. Yeah. Now it depends in the independence. You've got some construction going on and it's happy construction. Wow. You should see it today where they're putting in the concrete. I don't know if you drove by this morning, but it's it's uh, yes, we're going to
have our cafeteria built for hoping for August first that they're putting. They've got the the plumbing done and now we're getting the concrete in and then next week they can start building the walls. Oh that'd be great. I'm excited. I cannot wait. You know something, it's like watching your child grow.
Yeah, you know, because you know, you got this from the school and we was Will Rogers School and uh, and then you know, over the years, things started taking place and started shifting, started growing, and now you're adding ont I know. It's amazing and we're we're so excited. We just think that there's going to be so much to offer to the kids, addition for sure for your staff, my gosh, car and it's a tornado shelter too, so we're pretty pumped about that, especially after the recent
tornadoes. No, see, we didn't know this. We just thought we were building a nice little cafeteria show kids had to cook and you know, I have a nice meal on a daily basis. You didn't tell it that, you We definitely we decided that we needed a better tornado shelter in the building because of our numbers, and so we made it into a tornado shelters. She'll be excellent for us, and it could be potentially a good thing for the community. The more you know, I know, people, let's
get out there and help happen. Let's get it going here. And we're going to have a story up on our website about the Logan Concher and charity event, and we're going to direct you to the different places where you need to go to sign up or find out some more information. You might not be able to play golf, but you might have a spot in your heart where this is going to fit just nice, and maybe a spot in your
pocketbook too. And this is a charitable donation and the work wonders for a great deal more kids to come clear, people actually move here to our community simply because of the availability of your school. Yes, we have more and more families moving to Bartlesville from further away because it's just too hard to drive it on a daily basis, so they'll move so their children can get services,
go to school. Yeah, it's amazing because I heard just a few of the numbers about a year or so ago, and I'm like, and now knowing some of the parents, it's like you made a good call. Thanks for being here, of course, I'm glad to be here, and thanks for introducing yourself to me here because this is a I wasn't aware of your event until just a little bit ago, and now this is eighties.
Well I've only been in town a couple of years, so you know, I'm not in a long timer, but this is one I'm going to keep an eye out for and keep following.
