Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome. It is time now for our community connection right here on K one, the one you trust, and Kathy Stewart is in with it's your first Presbyterian church, or is the folks get trendy ecy first press, first press. That's right, but we've got some magical Lenten musical moments to talk about. It kicks off today. It kicks off today. I was late getting this out and then I suddenly realized, oh that is like now, so we've

got to get after it. Years gone by fast. Oh so far it has. What do we have going on today today? The music starts at twelve fifteen and you can come early and grab yourself a sack lunch. Hey, it's the best deal in town. Five dollars dinner in a show. Yeah, it's sack lunch. You get a sandwich, you get some chips, get a cookie, and you get some water. It's perfect. And did you get some soul inspiring music? You get some calming inspiring music.

Today is our wonderful cellist Gulia Gould, Nada Garapova Hollipeter, who has been gosh, I think she's in her nineteenth season with Artleszel Symphony. Yes nineteenth season. She plays principal cello a good portion of the time and is quite talented. Also is a local teacher and has really helped so many of our kids become fine cellist in and of their own right. So it's a real

honor to hear her. She's going to be doing playing some of the more famous classical cello solos, including Oh There's a bach Ariosa, and then the San sans the Swan, which we all know which and is beautiful from the Ballet or from Carnival the Animals. I don't know what it's from. At any rate, you're gonna know when you hear it, and you're gonna love it because it is just so beautiful. The cello has got one of the widest ranges of any of the instruments out there, so it's it's just a

joy to see her command that instrument. It has a full, resonant sound. It just fills up a room. If I could take up a stringed instrument personally, it would probably be the cello. I just think it's beautiful. At any rate, she will be playing for us today and then next week. This is one you don't want to miss. It will warm your heart like nothing else. The chime Choir from Green Country Village is going to be coming out to play. This is a group I think. I was

told their average age is eighty four. And they're loving it and they are loving it, and we are loving watching them play. And they played for us last year, I think, and it was just a joy to behold. Their director just had her birthday. I believe she's ninety four and still having fun, still having fun. And when I talked to her, she said, this group brings me so much joy because they love it and I love it, and she was the driving force behind it. And we're talking

about somebody in their nineties. It is never too late to start something, and this woman is proof of it. VLOY is a joy. Now you're bringing back another one of our kind of like a mainstay anymore. When we first started talking about this group at their brand news, Yeah, but now they're kind of calling you guys home for a little They kind of are, and it's just a wonderful thing and they love it and we love it. Yeah, we all love it, and so I do encourage you to come

out and see them. March sixth is Pro Grason Company and oh they are just fantastic. They're a family group, they are. They really do all ranges. I would say bluegrass is of one of their main genres. Yeah, it is, and they are spectacular. They have several CDs out which I know will be available for sale, and I have a few of them, and they are absolutely wonderful. Makes the ride go so much nicer, doesn't it It does? You know, there's the whole music about just being

able to get away. You get away from the politics, you get away from whatever angst is going on in your personal life and you just come and be bathed in music and enjoy and you're good and you're good and that's what artists and these these performers do. So I do encourage you to come out and see them. March thirteenth, or yes, March thirteenth. The ad Libs are back. Yeah. Fun, they have so much They do have so much fun. They'll called the ad libs. I think they've said it

before that they don't make mistakes. They add lib and that's that is kind of they've never heard of make a mistake. No, I haven't either, So they do a great job that's going to be on the thirteenth, then the following and they they do a wide range of music, mostly a lot of fun, fun things. The following week we have a quartet. These are all members of the Bartlesville Corral, but they're not necessarily affiliated with the

Corral, but they are really fine singers. Be doing a lot of probably I would guess mostly Barken even earlier into the renaissance, So we'll be looking at some stuff by talent. It is going to be an interesting sound, and it's good to remember the history, I think from where we derive bluegrass, and we derive even rock and roll. It comes from period that right there, the early madrigals, the early talis, the baroken, and the

very beginnings of harmonization. It comes from that, and it comes from singers, so it's kind of fun. The original instrument our voice on the twenty seventh Ronda Carr, who many of you know as the orchestra director at Martinsville High School, Yes, and who is a very talented violinist. She is I've heard her play. She is very talented. She will be joining us and will be doing a short concert as well, So I'm really looking forward to that. Ronda has never played for us before, which is my fault.

You know, I just need to ask. So you go and I saw. I'm absolutely thrilled that Ronda will be joining us to play the violin, and that will be during Holy Weeks, so I anticipate some absolutely beautiful music. You know, this is great. This is right in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week for the next six weeks, starting today, starting today, and all you have to do is go down the first Presbyterian Church right downtown in the heart of everything. Yeah,

and for five dollars you can have lunch there as well. Music is always free. The music is always free, But grab a lunch. Yeah, just recharge your batteries, refresh your soul, and walk out of there with a clear head and a new perspective online. That's what I say. Goodness sakes, I don't know how you do this, because you do this as we go into Christmas sometimes, and we do this at Lan and it really

is quite a beautiful arrangement of artists and just something different every time. I'm tickled that we have this variety of musicians here in town, and this caliber of musicians here in town. We're blessed. We are very blessed, and I'm looking forward. I know that there are some new ensembles that are starting to form, and I'm looking forward to maybe including them in future seasons. So maybe Advent, maybe Lent. We'll see. I've got I got, I got a guy. I know a guy. You know a guy.

I know a guy. We'll talk. We'll talk. Actually, the man plays keyboard and guitar and bass all at the same time, and he plays beautiful. Are you serious? He created one of the best Christmas albums ever. I'll let you know about it. We will talk, will we will talk. This will be fun and it's it's gentle in the years and really really gets the soul feeling good as well. But this is first Presbyterian Church, and don't forget to have first Presbyterian Church. It's not just open on

Wednesdays for this right. We've got regular worship service. We have regular worship services as well. We also have Wednesday night study and we have we have meals on Wednesday nights as well. Wednesday's busy. Wednesday's a very busy day for us. And then of course there is our Sunday worship service at ten thirty. So now tell everybody in case they don't know where First Presbyterian Church

is a lone downtown. We're right on the corner of Fifth and Dewey, directly west of the Price Tower. Can't miss it, Oh, you can't miss that. And yeah, right down there and the front doors will be unlocked a little bit before twelve, so just come on in and join us. This is great. That's about the best friendliest invitation I've had for lunch at a show. Ye a long long time, well since last Christmas.

Yeah, Cassie, thank you very much. And I got to tell you that really is a labor of love that you and your team put together in order to make these letting magical, musical moments take place, and also as we get ready for Christmas too with Advent. And I know it's a labor of love, but the smile on your face says it all. It's there. It's all about the music. It's all about you know. Let's just admit what we have in common, and that is a love of peace and

a love of music. Indeed, thank you for being yours so welcome. Look forward to seeing y'all
