Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome. It is time now for our community connection right here on Kay one, the one you trust, and we're used to have the Kawannas in with is today, not the entire Kawanas, but at least Karen Wilson and Pat gambled in here with us today. And ladies, we're getting a little bit of a two for going on today, because two for the price of one,

we got a lot going on, we do see. And we're going to kick off the holiday season indeed, though, well with a couple of different things. Let's let's go in sequential order. First of all, we have a thing called Celebrate Giving, which is kind of a cool thing. Yeah, we're so Kawanis is thrown a party. I like a party, and the honorees are the nonprofits in the community. We started this last year and it was great fun and so this is the second annual Celebrate Giving event.

It's on November twenty seven, which is the Monday after Thanksgiving, in a day before Giving Tuesday in fact, so there's a little time to promote those kind of activities. Anyway, It'll be at the Community Center or the Center, as we now know it, and we'll have a room full of nonprofits with booths and fun things to share with the community. It'll be information about what they do and even some goodies and stuff. A good time to start

Christmas shopping. You know. This is really it was a lot of fun last year because you get to see all your friends and you get to see folks you haven't seen for a while too. And it really works out well because you get to learn to know what each of the nonprofit and service organizations

do around our community. We're blessed to have so matting right and that's you know, and that is part of the appeal of the part party, even to the nonprofits themselves, if they get to learn about each other and do a little networking. For Kawanas, it's one of our community service events and we've like to give presents and prizes and so there are some contests involved that

nonprofits can win cash and other prizes. But here's the deal, I mean, it makes we need people to come and participate because there's some voting involved. I see, hha, some voting that will result in more prizes. So it is there'll be food our local FFAs Dewey and Bartlesville are going to be doing some fundraising themselves. They're gonna have hot dogs and Sloppy Joe's and some other dinner items available. So there'll be food. Some of the boosts

will be offering food, mostly goodies and that kind of thing. And yeah, so yeah, there'll be lots of grab and go things. The parties from four to seven and it is come and go and guess what, best of all, it's free. It's free. You have live entertainment in a cash bar, Yes, yes, sir, we do. We're still lining up the entertainment. Tom but the ad libs are going to do a couple of numbers and so that'll be fun. And it'll be holiday music and we're

gonna have some kiddos performing. We're still confirming those. And who knows, Tom might come and sing a song. You never know. I'll be there to at least witness the event. That'll right. Everything else I have to check with. That's right. So anyway, on the shoulder. So it's it's it's a party, all right. That sounds great. It is a

party. We're really excited. We'll be you know, we know that some of the organizations have good ease that they typically sell this time of year, and as we lead up to the event, we'll be promoting more about you know, specifics that you can come and come and grab at the party, but there'll be a lot more of that to come. Sounds good. Sounds good. I'll talk to you about the other thing a little bit later. Well, Pat Gamble is over there, just ready to burst because we're gonna

be talking Christmas Preed here in a moment. And on that note, we're going to take a quick break. You just hang around because we got some real cool information about the Christmas preed coming up with miss Pat after these words. First conversation I have with someone's loved one, I don't care if it's three o'clock in the afternoon or three o'clock in the morning, that first conversation is, mister X, this is Tim how with one more kie camp you

know home? First of all, so let me say I'm very sorry we're having to have this conversation right now, and to the nth degree, those people always appreciate you taking a moment to just pause and say I'm aware that someone you care about very much has just left you, and I'm sorry that we have to do this, but we have to do this. And if it's three o'clock in the morning, I try to be brief but concise and say do you have any questions or anything I can do for you right now

before we meet at our arrangement conference. And sometimes I say, you know, can you call my priest? Can you call my pastor? And I don't mind doing that. It'll be all right. We'll walk through this together. Arnold Moore and the Camp Funeral Home, seven ten Dewey, Bartlesville, we will walk through this together. Hey, everyone, this is Pastor Randall and Pastor Shiloh with Get Real Ministries, and this is your Get Real minute.

Lest everyone has heard the scripture John three sixteen, for God so love the world that he gave his only begotten son, whosoever should believe in him should not perish, but have ever lasting life. I believe that that scripture is really of no avail if not followed by the very next scripture John three seventy, for God to not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saying. And that is

the foundational scripture by which Get Real Ministries was founded. Come worship Jesus with us Sundays ten thirty am, Wednesday six thirty pm, Saturday night six pm, and Jesus further third Saturday every month. Come worship with us anytime you can see it. You can visit us

But the thought of dealing with the large dealerships is just too intimidating, too confusing. There is an easier way ton Grass Motors. Tall Grass Motors doesn't play all the confusing glaves a large dealerships play. Tall Grass Motors has continually been voter budders Hill's best to used

car year after year. Good Bye tall Grass Motors today and enjoyed looking at over sixty used cars, trucks and SUVs, all prized to save you money. Tall Grass Motors Highway seventy five North in Bartlesville and we are back here on our community connection program with the Kawanis Club, and we've talked about celebrate Giving, but now we're going to talk a little bit about Christmas. It's never too early. I'm just saying that right now, Pat Gamble, Hell,

are you doing good morning? I am doing well. And as Karen said, we are very excited to kick off the holiday season this year. You know, I saw lights in my neighborhood already real on the tree. Then I realized that it was Halloween lights, but still got you in the mood for mood for Christmas. Ah. Now we've got a special team this year. When is it? Our thing? This year is Christmas at the movies? And it is wide open, from White Christmas to toilet story to

home alone, the Grinch that Stole Christmas. Everything is open except for Santa Claus. Can it come as cousin Eddie? I don't know. He's a little bit of a handful. But we've got a great grand Marshal here because and I think everybody knows our grand Marshal, Our grand Marshall is You're right.

Everybody either knows him personally. I knows about him because he's well known long time resident of Bartlesville and George hawkyatas I've heard it said about him, he was a quiet person making a loud noise for everything he does for the community. I would say it's about right. He's kind of subtle but powerful. Yeah, and it all comes with it's being kind of graceful, you know, absolutely, and talk about talk about power. George has some power

because he'll be coming to celebrate giving and we'll be choosing a winner. I see how you guys, So he does have power. Cool. The parade is actually Saturday, the second of December. We have now made it always unless there's something really strange, the first Saturday in December, and so it's it's on the calendar and registration is online again this year at Bartlesville cowanas dot

org. You can register online. You can pay then, and we're asking because we have a wonderful parade announcer that talks about all the cool things and cool floats and all the entries in the parade. I think his name is Tom something like. He's been with us several years. It was great, but but we are getting some information up front this year. So your hash year was pretty good. They had me hopping. It's good. It's really good, oh my, you know, and this is really a fun parade

because it's in the evening. It's in the evening, the lights are great just at dark. The floats line up for two o'clock start at the Philip sixty six parking lot on right off Armstrong and they have to be in line

and ready for judging by four o'clock. And there are six different categories that entriests can win, business and nonprofit and corporate sure and they get bragging rights and the sponsors get their names prominently displayed on the banner in front of that winning entry, and so that's always a good thing, all right, excuse

me. You know, it's really cool because you know, we get the word either they sent us attacks or they sent us a nice person up to the second story of the r Best building where we park our cameras and do our broadcast. And it's really neat to answer coming in to announce what they want, and it just really makes for a nice parade. It's amazing, how I think at the beginning of August we started getting questions from people about

the thing because they're already preparing their floats. Oh I'm not curious about this. I'm not surprised at all. Now, if a company or a group or maybe even an individual wants to be a part of this as a sponsor, how do they go about that? Well, actually they can contact We will be contacting our long term sponsors. We have some businesses in town that have been sponsors for us for the last thirteen years. They posted get the

courtesy call. But anybody interested in sponsoring in the parade can contact us at Bartlesville Kawanas dot org as well, and then we'll reach back out to them. Now, this is going to be a blast both if these events, and they're so close November twenty seven, right, and that'll be our celebrate Giving, which is right before Giving Tuesday, and right after Thanksgiving holiday, and then boom, we've got the Christmas Parade coming up. How do you

ladies keep it together? You know, that's really a great question, because you know what, I think, what we're known for, what Kuanas is known for in the community is we do lots of community events. You do, and so we feel like we kind of go from the Fourth of July to Christmas with only you know, a quick but quick rest. But you know, we've got the fishing derby in May. You know, we run

sooner, Junior, but from May through the end of September. In fact, not not this weekend, but next weekend will be the close of the of the season. But then but then we will have a big Halloween party at the end of October. So we're kind of going year round. Didn't you forgot Freedom Fest? No, No, fourth of July Freedom Fest. We believe me, we didn't forget it. So after the Christmas Parade, you know, we'll kind of let ourselves rest through the holidays and then it'll

be Freedom Fest season. Well, it's amazing and the Kawana's works so hard. The group worked for scholarships so for a lot of students in the area, as we do. We have actually several different categories, eighth grade scholarships, sophomore scholarships, and senior students scholarships. The seniors actually sophomores in town.

Actually we do all of Washington County, so there are five different high schools for sophomores that can participate in the scholarship program, and those winners actually go into the drawing or the recognition at our district level and can win even more scholarship money at the Texas, Oklahoma District Kawana's Club International. Right. You know they say Texas in Oklahoma don't get along, but I don't believe we did. Everybody gets along and everybody around the world gets along. That's

the reason why you guys have been so strong in our community. It's just togetherness and working forward to that common goals. Maybe we yeah, we really enjoy it. I think we're in in the near of our in the reach at the end of our time. So I want to make one last pitch.

We still have rooms room for nonprofits to participate in this event. So if you work with a nonprofit or on the board of a nonprofit, you need to check and make sure yours is registered and they can go out to Bartlesville Kawanas dot org or call our information line nine one eight nine seven seven thirty four hundred to leave a message and we will get back to you and make sure we get registered. We we try to send invites out to everybody

we can think of, but contacts change and sometimes somebody gets missed. And believe me, it's not intentional. They've been around for one hundred years, so they've got a good start. Folks. It's the Kwantas of Bartlesville. Thank you very much, ladies, thank you, thank you Tom
