Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome time now for our community connection right here on K one, the one you trust, and it's brought to you by our good friends at Arnold Moore and Knee Camp Funeral Home, Tall Grass Motor and also Wesley and Kitty College. And we have our friend Conrad here from Kawanas. Boy, it must be must be something, you know, festival type thing coming on here soon.
Huh. Well, tomorrow is a great day, July fourth Independence. There we are, so we have an annual Freedom Fest festival at Center Park with a culmination NF fireworks display. So wow, you know this is gonna be
great. The weather is looking good for this now. We do have some chances, slight chances for rain today and tonight, but tomorrow Independence Day mostly sunny ninety five and then tomorrow night down to seventy two with clear sky, so you get a great view of the fireworks and a little break in the heat, I hope. So, but during the festival it's probably pretty warm.
So dress coolly hydrate a lot. Yeah, exactly exactly. Now we're gonna get things underway like one an that's correct, about five five thirty. Food vendors should be opened by then festivities should start. Uh this UM. Sooner Junior Minister Golf Course will open at six pm. We have opening and welcoming ceremonies at the bandshell at six pm. Of course, we have the inflatables sponsored by Truity that's available at six pm UM and then at six to
fifteen UM. DSR, one of our long time sponsors, is sponsoring the Kids Patriotic Costume Contest and parade, so that registration starts at six fifteen and the actual parade is about six forty five. We're uh, and we've interspersed a military flyby in that right around sixty five. Good, a lot of good things going on. That's that's always kind of fun. Hey, look
up. Wow, you know, it really kind of makes you feel great and uh, and it really adds to the specialness of a freedom best And of course back out at Sooner Park, it's gonna be playing in shade, so you don't have to worry about having direct sun rays at the at the tail end of the afternoon as we go into the evening, plenty of room to walk around and get some fresh air. Like you said, plenty of food and beverage. Yeah, as you know, Um, we had the
Barrowswell Airport hosts a World War two plane. It's a DC three, Oh yeah, and the World War Two Airborne Demonstration Team is kind enough to fly their plane around the park for our event, our fly by, So that'll be probably the lowest plane that we've seen at our festival. Uh. And they're gonna fly from from the direction of the pool towards the banshell roughly about sixty five. They do a five at circuit, come back across the banshell
again and then they'll leave the park area. So that'll be that we'll hear the roll of their engine and that should be something to remember. Oh yeah, indeed. And we've got music at the Banshell. The name of the young lady in her band, Anna Jennings and the Palamy No Playboys. That's what they were there last year. That's cract. They put on a darn good show. Yeah, it's Americana with a country and a hint of rock. And they start at seven pm and then the fireworks will culminate right at
nine thirty. Very good, Very good. Do we have the same team that we had last year? The fireworks team, Yes, we do. I'll tell you what they know, what they're doing. Yeah, that that is a smooth bunch. Of course, from our broadcast point, we're pretty close. We're still within the safety range, yes, but we get to see a little bit how they set up everything is so precision. Everything is done with extreme caution. These are pros, Yeah, unbelieve. And they
put on a dazzling is play. Now. Not only do people get a chance to to watch the fireworks, but if you turn your radio to one hundred point one KYFMR sister station in your vehicle, crank it up, you can listen to patriotic music while you're watching the fireworks. And it's kind of coordinated, so it's kind of it's an interesting dance. It's an interesting dance,
exactly right, and you know you're you're absolutely right. Safety is important, and we do set up a safety perimeter, so we expect and request at all people that come to the park to watch the fireworks to observe those safety perimeters so that we can all go home safely. That's a paramount. You don't want anything falling. It's still kind of hot that that can happen, and depending on which way the winds blowing. You know, you just don't want to be in the path of that. It's not fun. Takes
the fun out of fireworks. Man, But this is really going to be, shall we say, a blast, We hope, so the right kind of blast, the right kind of blast, family friendly and fun. Right now, we're gonna take a quick break. We'll be back with more from
god Red and our friends from the Kawanas.
