Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome. It is time now for our community connection right here on Cane, the one you trust, and we have Miss Angie Thompson in here with us with Eldercare, and good morning to you. It's a beautiful day. My gosh, it is as gorgeous. I'm excited to get out and drive around and see these beautiful trees. Oh my goodness sakes. Yeah, we got some really good fall color coming up. Now, we have a big day coming

up on Saturday. Not only is it Veterans Day, but it's a day especial day of giving with Eldercare. By the way, happy birthday Eldercare forty years in the making. Yes, we're excited about that. Yeah, it's our forty year celebration. It's our giving day for twenty twenty three and we are combining it with an in person gathering celebration fundraising breakfast. We're excited that our very first board president, Bob Bogue, will be there, okay,

and our founders Betty Sammer and Mary Lou Bork will be there. A whole lot of our employees are board and the community. They're going to be there and we're excited to see everyone in that space. It's Trick County Tech Event Center Saturday morning at nine pint thirty. Jim Bridenstein will be the guest speaker. And you know, Jim is a former NASA administrator administrator and also our Oklahoma US congressman, so we're excited to hear his talk and also a veteran

Navy flyer. Yes, he is a Navy pilot. Yeah, so we're going to have a great time. Now. I understand that tickets are getting kind of slim, so we got we got to kind of cut this off at noon today. At noon today, if folks have not called to RSVP or purchased their tickets online, we won't be able to see them Saturday morning as a walk in. So they need to make sure to call Elder here today nine one eight three three six eighty five hundred or log on to our

website about Eldercare dot org, forward slash breakfast and purchaser tickets. And that's noon today, Wednesday, the eighth of November. Cats, you goes, wake it up, Golly, I gotta get this done now. We're going to have a special thing following our breakfast it's going to be a special open house. Tell us about it. Well, it's open to the entire community,

and we're going to continue the celebration with celebration cake. Our program spaces will be open for self guided tours, Our staff and board will be there to answer questions and just meet and greet. And of course, if someone didn't want the online giving experience but they wanted to bring their donation to Eldercare, that's a good time to do it. That's at Eldercare twelve to twenty three Swan Drive on Saturday, November eleventh, beginning at noon till two o'clock

in the afternoon. And one thing that's really cool about that you can see where your donated dollars are going and all of the different things that make eldercare new virtually every week because it's constantly evolving to meet the changes, to meet

where seniors are at the moment, you know. And I'm proud to say that we have taken twenty twenty three as an opportunity to retool our programs, to make our programs more accessible to individuals in the community, and not just to the elderly and those over sixty, but there are families, you know, if they're an adult caregiver and their parent is aging and experiencing some cognitive decline and they're looking for services. We're here for them. We're here for

the entire family, and we've retooled our programs. In twenty twenty four is going to be a great year of describing those and letting the community know more about them. But yeah, Elder Care is here for the community in all stages of aging in place. Well, you just said the magic we're at aging in place. We're not a residential care facility, not by far back, quite the opposite. We want to make sure that you can live independently

as long and as safely as possible. That's right, and that's our mission. For forty years, we've been fulfilling that mission of keeping aging adults independent, happy and healthy in their own environment. That is really a special thing. And this is something that forty years ago no one was doing, absolutely no one. And thanks to our founders many of you can meet on Saturday. Yes, that they had that forward thinking that hey, why don't we

why don't we do this? And it's like at the big aha moment and a lot of folks been kind of trying to catch up. But we all work as a team in our community to make sure everybody gets what they need. And this is where elder Care really shines. And I think that's what I really love about my job and the world of development. You know, it's always changing and flexible, and you find what needs to be done, what maybe we should be doing differently, that we need to do, or

maybe what we need to stop doing. And I'm so proud of our history. Many of the board members who served on the board over the past forty years will be with us on Saturday, and I hope that they understand how much we appreciate their thoughtfulness, their service. Many of them, you know, it was a labor of love for them for many years to make sure elder Care is here for the next forty years. Oh indeed, and this is a great way to help ensure that it goes on for the next forty

With the day of Giving, we're going to take a quick break. We'll be back with Angie and a little bit more on the big day coming up Saturday for Eldercare. After these messages from gat Real Ministries, Tall Grass Motors and Art more Nique Ampupil Home. The first conversation I have with someone's loved one, I don't care if it's three o'clock in the afternoon or three o'clock in the morning. That first conversation is, mister X, this is Tim

Howe with Arnold Mornee Camp funeral Home. First of all, so let me say I'm very sorry we're having to have this conversation right now. And to the nth degree, those people always appreciate you taking a moment to just pause and say, I'm aware that someone you care about very much has just left you, and I'm sorry that we have to do this, but we have to do this. And if it's three o'clock in the morning, I try to be brief but concise and say do you have any questions or anything I

can do for you right now before we meet at our arrangement conference. And sometimes I say, you know, can you call my priest? Can you call my pastor? And I don't mind doing that. It'll be all right. We'll walk with this together, lad More, and we can't un sevent Dewey Bartelsville. We will walk through this together. Is it time to start thinking about a new car? But the thought of dealing with the large dealerships is just too intimidating, too confusing. There is an easier way, tom

Grass Motors. Tall Grass Motors doesn't play all the confusing games a large dealerships play. Tall Grass Meaders has continually been voted Bartlesviille's best used car deal year after year. Goodbye Tallgrass Motors today and enjoyed looking at over sixty used cars, tracks and SUV's all price to save you money Tallgrass Motors Highway seventy five

North in Bartlesville. Hey everyone, this is Pastor Rando and Pastor Shiloh with Gibreel Ministries and this is your give real minute must Everyone has heard the scripture John three sixteen, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that who's ever should believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. I believe that that scripture is really of no avail if

not followed up by the very next scripture John three seventeen. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. And that is the foundational scripture by which Getrael Ministries is founded. Come worship Jesus with us Sunday's ten thirty am, Wednesday six thirty pm, Saturday night six pm. And welcome back to our community connection. And we're speaking

And not only is that for the Big Breakfast with the Jim Bridenstein out of Cray County Tech, but if you can't make it or if we get sold out, we can still do that online. Yeah. Absolutely. And you know, a Giving Day is a twenty four hour period for a nonprofit that helps them raise awareness about their cause and their mission, and

ours happens to be November eleventh this year. People can give online about eldercare dot org forward slash giving. There's a link there to give online. It's a secure link, you know. If there if they're following us on social

media on Facebook, and the link will be there as well. But if they want to come to the experience and be a part of the breakfast, they need to call us today by noon and that number is nine one eight three three six eighty five hundred, or they can purchase their tickets online about eldercare dot org forward slash Breakfast. You'll find it real easy. It's very easy to navigate. I love your website. Thank you. And also the

big open house right afterwards too, and so you can get it. You can make a maybe a two four on this one, you know, come out twelve to twenty three one drive, have some anniversary cake, see our program space, meet our staff board. That'll be between noon and two o'clock Saturday. Oh very good. Now, Eldercare is one big building, but underneath that roof we've got a lot going on. Right. Doctor Gerrold used to toil all by himself, but now he's got company and and more people

can now take advantage of our medical clinic. Yeah, absolutely, and that is our partner CHC in Oklahoma Community Health Clinic. They're based in Kansas, but we are the clinic for them in Bartlesville, and they have a whole staff of individuals that work with doctor Jerrell, including nurse practitioner Ronda Line. Many of you know her. The practice manager is Desiree Drake and she's from

Nowada, so you'll recognize her when you see her. But we also have Foundation Therapy Specialist, which is an outpatient therapy service that's wonderful, boy, yea it is, and our in home housekeeping and air and service, our case management advantage services, and our Adult Day Health which is our flagship program Daybreak, Oh my goodness sakes, and of course say you're going to find some good friends out there too, every time you pop in for a service

or you know, just to come out and visit. I mean good gravy. It's kind of where the cool kids hang out. You know. That's what I like this, Yeah, because I've heard that term from people whose relatives will go to Daybreak, right, you know, that's where the gang's

happening, That's where it's that's where it's all at. They still love communicating and having fun with one another, kind of giving each other the business every now, you know, you don't need to stop living, you know when we're here to help people continue to live their best life, whatever that looks

like for them. And Daybreak is an experience where they can come in during the day, have a healthy lunch and snacks, therapeutic activities including art classes, engagement with other peers, games, cognitive games, and also exercise. So a lot better, just a lot better. Maybe that just your outlook also, you know, yeah it does. Also during the I know we're having what feels like a little relapse of summer for a couple of days, but it's it's going to be what it's in. But in the summertime it

gets hot. And during the COVID we had the cool room, right, but we need some We need a little bit more help for the upcoming summer, don't we for the air conditioners room units. You know, with COVID, we were not able to have the air conditioning units that were loaned out returned to us. COVID restrictions kept us from doing that, so we had to replenish our supply of window units and the community just stepped up. Thanks

to Kato will Win and the great story you ran. I mean overnight, we raise the funds we needed for our twenty twenty three cool room project, and we do that every year. Those who are using the air conditioners return

them to Eldercare and we keep them in inventory for the next year. But we're always looking for support for special projects like the cool room project, and we do have helpers that go out to help our seniors in the home of they need that, yeah, you know, they'll do light housekeeping, they'll run errands, and everybody needs a little bit of help, especially as we're headed into the holidays. You know, we may need respite care, we

may want to have our loved one taken care of during the day. That's what Daybreak does. But if we need help in the home, you know, maybe we're having our family in, we need a little help with errand's or housekeeping. That's what in Home can help us do. So that's great. Now at about Eldercare dot org dot org right is where you need to go and you can find all of the services that we've been mentioning here on the radio. And of course if you go to that website, forward Slash

Breakfast to buy your tickets by your ticket. Yes, you can get that for Saturday and also be a part of the day of giving as well. Angie goll Lee, it just seems like our time goes so fast.
