Good morning, good morning morning. Welcome, welcome, welcome. It's time now for our community connection right here on Kay one, the one you trust, and it's being brought to you by Wesley and Kitty College, Arnold Moore, Niecamp Funeral Home, gat Reel Ministries, and Tall Grass Motors. Well we have with is here, our friend here from the Delaware Tribe of Indians.

Introduce yourself to everyone once again. Yeah, yeah, So my name is Devin with and I've worked at the Delaware Tribe of Indians for coming up on two years now, two years. They keep me around. Well that's a good thing because you do a great job every time. He's the most prepared person I know. We've got the big spring gathering. It was, I guess originally known as the Native Art Market. Tell us a little bit

about it. Yeah, So the event starts tomorrow at nine am. And this is actually the craziest event I've ever heard of because we're not stopping until ten o'clock at night. Now, what are you going to do during that time? A lot, a lot. So one of the beautiful things that we're going to be doing is the ten thousand egg Easter egg hunt. Now normally you'd be like, oh, Devin, this is going to be chaos. This can't work. But one of the beautiful things that we're doing is

that we're actually spreading it up among age groups. So depending on what age you're in, you're going to be in this part of the field. Since we have the travel ground spread out where so instead of a free for all like you're used to seeing at Easter egg hunts, we're actually trying to coordinate this thing, right, yeah, Gota, So there won't be big kids knocking little kids down, the little kids being up ship because they can't find an egg. It is a little bit enjoyable. The sea kids get run

over, but without that time. No, this is going to be up there at the complex at Tuxedo. Yeah, yes, sir, at fifty one hundred Tuxedo Boulevard. All you have to do is just tie in Delaware Tribe of Indians to any Google Maps and you're coming right to us. Can anybody show up for this year? Do you have to be a travel remember what's the deal? So that is one of the beautiful things about this too,

is that we're making this a community wide event. We want everyone in Bartlesville Oceleda Caney anyone in this area to come to our event and hang out with us. Oh man, this is great. Now, I understand that you got a breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And because if you're going to be going there from like nine am to about ten pm, I guess somebody's gotta get hungry. Right. Oh and let me tell you, Trudy is phenomenal at the food that she makes. And I didn't recommend biscuits and

gravy, but let me tell you, I'm the biggest fan. And one of the other things too that we're doing because I do want to make sure people understand this. We are selling the food, so it's not going to be like a free food type situation. But I promise you it's the best ten bucks you'll ever spend. Yes walking tacos, you got the funnel cakes, candy bars, popcorns, cookies, strawberry and whipped cream, cinnamon apples, carmel drizzle, classic powdered sugar, funnel cakes. Now you got my

favorite food roofs there. And here's the thing too, that is my food pyramid. I don't know about y'all, but I'm there and you say funnel cakes, and I'm just aware and kind of take that step further too. The Indian tacos that she makes are just out of this world. You know. I don't know how she isn't world famous yet for that. So if you haven't, we'll get there. Yeah, and so if you haven't had an Indian taco, definitely this is the time to try it. Now I

understand. We also have a cornhole tournament that gets underway about one in the afternoon. Yeah, yes, sir, so the corn the cornhole tournament. It's going to be fifteen dollars to play. We are paying the top three

players out the out of the pot. And then the biggest thing I would say, especially if you're a cornhole fan, just make sure you download the score Hoolio app, which is a fun word to say, by the way, but on there it will give a complete breakdown of the brackets how it's all going to work, and we'll keep track of the score for you. It's a really cool app. I haven't been involved in cornhole before, but I download this thing and I'm blown away. So it's pretty turn good.

Now I understand we have some evening entertainment. It's really good very and very traditional, and that's actually the highlight of the night because one of the things we want to do is kind of show what the tribe's about. And so we are going to have some stomp dancing and shell shaking going on at seven pm. And my best recommendation for that is just bring a long chair and

your appetite. You're gonna have fun and you're gonna learn something too. Now, I want to go back to this egg hut that we're doing here because we're doing this in groups, and this is what the Delaware Tribe of Indians first annual spring gathering. It's gonna be up there at the complex right throwing the East tuxedo. So we've got the age group one to three year olds. It's called hop on over right there at noon, So these are little guys and gals. And just so people are aware, the egg hunt is

going to start at noon, and we're doing it in segments. So if you're one of those parents out there that has a three year old, a seven year old, look for their ten year old, look for the right grouping. It'll be fun watching you run from space to space to try and make it in time. They'll get appetite. Now we got the four to six year olds, they'll go at twelve twenty, and my goodness, sakes seven to nine year olds. I like the way you really kind of made

these close in proximity seven to nine. You got some seven year olds you could pass his nine year olds these days? What the kids are eating these days? I got a beautiful daughter who sometimes as I'm having conversations, whether I'm like, are you thirteen? Yeah? Yeah, they'll get that way, yeah, oh believe me they will. And then at ten to twelve year olds will go at one o'clock. That's gonna be a lot of fun. It's huge. You know. I can't tell you guys enough how big

of an opportunity this is to get out there. And we didn't even really touch on the native art market. Now that part we got to get into that because I think that's where that's where a lot of folks are going to be bringing the wallet and saying, I'm going to take home some cool stuff. And so I do want to make sure and shout out the Lenape Reserve and our Teton trade Cloth because they are going to be hosting special discounts specifically

for this event. So if you're not familiar with either one of those. We have a lot of accessories and items of native apparel that I think almost anyone would love to wear. I think they're beautiful works of art. So how we're doing it is, if you're a Delaware tribal member, then the vendor set up is free. You don't have to pay a dime. Just bring your stuff and set up. If you're a nationally not nationally, but if you are a other tribal member, Cherokee, Chalked or whatever, then

it's going to be I believe, ten dollars. Yeah, And then if you're a non native, because we do want to make this open to the public, twenty dollars. And just so people are aware too, because I do want to make sure and plug her phone number if you're interested in, whether it's volunteering for the event because someone's going to watch these kids, or

if you're wanting to get my ball, I'll watch. That's true, but we're really going so since it is open to the public, we want to make sure that everyone's aware that bring your stuff, you know, let people see the wares and the peril that you got. It's gonna be a fantastic time. And Emily's phone number is Yes, So Emily, he AND's phone number is nine one eight four four zero zero eight six four. I'll say that one more time, nine one eight four four zero zero eight six four.

And you can reach out to her with any questions that you have, as well as signing up for volunteering or if you're wanting to be a vendor. But this is it's a huge opportunity, especially I don't know about you. On saturdayays, I usually struggle on what am I going to do well? For once in my life, I have something I can tell you know, friends and family. Hey, I'm booked today from nine in the morning until ten at night. Join me if you want to have five Yes,

this is really gonna be great. Now, the complex, what's the address. It's fifty one hundred, Yeah, fifty one hundred Toxedo Boulevard right here in Bartlesville, America. You got it. But you got that. And now that's a huge complex as far as ACREAG is concerned. So don't worry about the kids going nuts over there with the East egg there will be plenty of room for ten thousand eggs. Well, and we're gonna have a gigantic one was what we call them, like carnival type tent. It's gonna be

great, and there there's gonna be plenty of refreshments throughout the day. You know, I don't know about you guys, but for me, it's always been biscuits and gravy in the morning. That's just my go to and a top it off with some orange juice. Come on, here you go. But then to really drive it home though, this is a very family oriented event, so we're hoping that we can get a lot of the Bartlesville community.

Now. The other beautiful thing is because we're in a smaller town, there is going to be other events going on during that day or during the day, but we want to make it open to everyone. So even if you're going to another place to hunt some Easter eggs, make sure you swing by because I promise you it's worth it. Oh yeah, that'd be great. And then to spend the rest of the day doing some shopping and then

learning a few things about the Delaware tribe. You know, you guys have a wonderful website and you have I think a couple of Facebook pages, let me tell you. Yeah, and it's always growing. We're actually in the process of really trying to coordinate and drill down on messaging from the Facebook aspect of it, because we have so many followers on there that are actively engaged. So I'm really excited to see what we can do with that. And

then overall just the tribe. It seems like you a every time we leave here we come back, it's like there's there's something new going on. And that's what makes it so great because it's a very unique place. And I'll tell you I enjoy going there. Why not. I mean it's beautiful. I mean, you guys are at none. I think some help. The fitness stuff in a food pantry is being expanded there, and you've got you're

just growing like crazy. Well, and you know, you look at something like the Lenape Early Learning Center and the amazing work that they're doing with our children. My son actually goes there and one of the cool things that they do and I'm sure other places have it too, but they have an app where they send messages to you, pictures, whatever, kind of giving you

an update on how your child's doing that day. And at three, they're already working with them to get them prepared for pre K and I'm sure a lot of daycares do that. That's probably common practice. But as a parent to actually see the progress that your child's making and for them to show that, I think that's incredible. So I can't tell you enough good things about that program. It is absolutely wonderful. And if you want to learn more,

just go to the website. It'll break it down by department and agency and everything else. Anything you need to know is we're all right there at a touch, yes, and it's pretty easy to navigate, by the way, And I'll tell you that that website, especially me being in housing, you know what, I deal with a lot of people throughout northeast Oklahoma, and that website has been like a lifesaver as far as saving a mailman from

having to lug around applications. But it is a very fantastic resource. We try to keep it as up to date as possible and then mixing that in with the social media posting, yeah, we're getting our message out there. You bet you are. First annual Spring Gathering formerly known as the Native Art Market, But there will be a Native Art Market for sure, for sure.

Easter Egg Hut and just a whole lot more. It all starts tomorrow morning at nine am at the Delaware Tribe of Indians Complex fifty one hundred, Tuxedo. Hey, thank you. Did we miss anything? I don't think we did. I'll just say it one more time if you if you have any questions, or if you want to volunteer, please make sure and reach out to Emily Haney at nine one eight four four zero zero eight six four. And last thing I would say is just get ready to hunt ten thousand eggs.
