Welcome, welcome, welcome. It's time down for city matters right here on Gay one to one you trust, and it's being brought to you a part by Arnold Morton you Camp Funeral Home. Also to all grass motors and we have a city councilor Dorset here with this. A long meeting last night at city all. Oh yes, sir, we had a long meeting. We had quite a bit on the agenda, but we got through it and uh, you know, first things for us, we gonna have turn off our water. No no, no, no, we did. You know,

we did talk about water, that's all. That's been a big topic of discussion for several months now. As you know, we got down I guess is around fifty percent maybe a little less of our water supply, and a lot of people out were diligently praying out there. We got I guess a big rain because then all of a sudden, Hila Lake is above capacity and we were good. We get back up about seventy percent. We were able to open the pull over on the west side of the community for the month

of July, which was nice. And you got to open the splash pad because summertime that's that's a big deal. That's what we do. And so now I think we're back. I believe Terry Lortson said about sixty eight percent. So you know that that triggers I think Phase two or whatever it is of our water what we voted not to go into that. Just yet.

We have a water resources board that has been put together that's working on some ideas and some options of maybe some other water sources and opportunities that the city could tap into. What's looking good. I you know, based on what was talked about last night, it looks like maybe call Lake or sky Took might be, you know, an option. We'll see, We'll see what they come up with. But you know, leaving the meeting last night, I kind of just I just kind of feel like, well, you know,

God's got this well, I told you. By the time I got I got on Frank Phillips about the radio station, it started pouring, and it poured all the way to the house. There's your answer there, Leave it to guy. And I think the you know, obviously with the evaporation, we've had really hot temperatures. I think the temperatures are gonna drop down this next week into the eighties and we got a little raid on the week. Yeah, and next week I think there's a chance of rain at least

thirty percent are better for most of the whole week. So uh. And I saw a lot of pictures last night from up around hughlea lake of looked like it dumped a bunch of rain. So you know, there again, maybe answer to everything that's going on. And I was kind of shocked. I didn't know it was even supposed to storm last night. And I came out of the meeting and I about got in my car net lightning and then

thundered, and you know, that gave me a heart attack. But you's gonna be good or somebody think, yeah, yeah, it's there's a lot of lightning there for a while. So but it's kind of pretty show. And then then it poured for a little bit. So we did get We did get a good shower, good good rain, water water to ground, so means it means we'll be mowing again, right. Well, yeah, just about time you think you can put them more away ches from a clean

getaway. We had a big to do going on with the uh the Christian Church building, didn't we We did, so the U the church building was kind of offered turned over to the city. We entered in the lease agreement and started looking diligently at what maybe we could do with that building. We looked at it maybe a conference center, we didn't know, and did some feasibility to see if that was something that we should be doing with that facility.

Uh, And through that we have entered agreement with Buffalo Rome, which is a film production you know in school, a lot of different a lot of different things which could be very very big for our community. Could could bring the people here, could bring you know, some additional commerce jobs, students, so really good opportunity and uh, you know it looks like that's all gonna come together, come to Fruition. So you know, they just

got to bring their half. Yeah, yeah, they looks like we have some finding available, but they've got to come up with their two million and then we've got two million to kick in to make that a realistic project. And the guys that are that are doing that, I think are very solid and have a background of history that well they can they can make that work. And not a lot of local support, which is nice. And uh, you know, if you've been paying attention in the film industry. There's

been some some pretty decent films that have just a handful. Yeah, in August and s H County and The Killers of the Flowerman, which I think is coming out in October. October twenty so very excited to see that. It was. It was really neat whenever all the filming and production was going on to go over around Paulastica and Fairfax and see how they kind of made that look like that time and era. So you an extra, No, I wasn't. I would have loved to have been, but I got a

face made for radio. Oh come on now talking with the city councilor Dorsy. What else happened last night? Well, we got a little history lesson to start off. Debbie Nice was able to uncover some artifacts. There's Civil War artifacts artifacts, so they were able to preserve those for history, which is kind of neat. It was kind of neat hearing about some of that

and what they do. And then always nice when we can recognize our firefighters and policemen for going above and beyond and doing what they do every day. And I think, you know, sometimes we forget about all that they do

for the citizens of the community. So it's very nice that Chief Topping could recognize silver Life Saving Awards to firefighter both for him b Aunt Sneeson, and then Metorious Service Award to Justin Butterfield and a Life Saving Award to police Corporal Brandon Meyer, and so all of a lot of family for those folks were there in support, and so it's kind of nice. It was it was a patron but of course it kind of dissipated after that. So, you

know, we get to the boring stuff. Everybody at least try and we always talk about boards, commissions and committee openings, and there for a long time we went where we didn't really have any, and evidently some people have rolled off. So we've got some openings, one opening on the Ambulance Commission, one on the Barblesville Library Trust Authority, two openings on the Community Center Trust Authority, one opening on the park Board, and one opening on a

Street and Traffic Committee. So if you have an interest in serving your community, learning more about how the city works and being involved, we would love for you to put in your application and you can do that down at City Hall, or you can go online to the website and find that and get that submitted mister Lane Baynes is uh, you know, she's the best thing that ever happened to the city. So I'm sure she will get you hooked up and taking care of I tell you, she gets a lot done and

I'm glad you guys recognize her. Oh yeah, she is amazing. I know that everybody would would tell you that, that know, sir, especially Mike Bailey. Right hand to mister Bailey, for sure. And we had a lot of bids as usual, a lot of concrete and asphalt stuff. But one of those was was nice that I got to present. There is going to be some roadwork is going to happen over on Cresslin and Baylor,

and so that's in my wards. So those folks will be very happy because their you know, road will be nice and new and so tires will disappear when they go down the street. That should take place, I think, mister Roper said, you know, once all the bids are finalized and everything's done here in the next month or so, then hopefully they'll get you know, construction started on that. Obviously, when you're doing a lot of concrete work, the weather kind of big fact is important. So let's see what

else do we talk about at development? The Delaware Tribes got a development over there, and and uh Tuxedo and and Madison where their facilities are. It looks like they'll be developing some some duplexes over there. So always nice to see expansionally. Yeah. Yeah, and let's see what else we sidewalk survey. Yeah, Larry Curtis our director of community development. They did a survey on sidewalks, which I know our community, with our parks and and all

the other infrastructure, sidewalks are important. And you know, we did develop some bi claim stuff a year or two back, maybe a little longer now. Time flies when you're having fun, but we are you know, the community. You see a lot of bikers, you see a lot of walkers. We get the trail system and so try to keep those sidewalks for for folks to walk. And uh, you know, it'll be interesting to see as this survey goes on, and you know, as we talk through it.

The sidewalks are the responsibility of the homeowner. We own the sidewalks, but you know, I think that could probably be expensive if you're having to go replace a bunch of those or develop them. And I know there's different parts of the city where there's kind of sidewalks to nowhere, So it's kind of connecting those dots and allowing people to to get around. And so keep hoping to keep the bikes in the bike lanes and the walkers on the sidewalk,

keep the cars out of your yards. Yeah, yeah, that's that's always a good thing. And and we did talk about you know, I think you brought up the Buffalo Rome the film deal, and so a lot of what was talked about last night was trying to expedite or expediate everything that's going on because of the construction that needs to happen. You know, they need to get that construction piece going, get get a new group on the

facility. Talked about you know, keeping the stained glass window features and a lot of things that you know, I think that group we'll try to keep the historic beauty of that facility intact. So that is a sweet building. Yeah, great location downtown. Kind of fits in nice with neighbor and everything that's down there. So beautiful. Hey, thanks for being with us today, No problem. It's always it's folks in your district need to get a

hold of you. How do they do that? Yep. They can always look up my contact on the website and they will get the message to you. Got to see email and my phone numbers out there. So anything that I can help with and just always reach out Trevor Dorsye, thank you, Thank you, sir, appreciate it. How does Tim howl at Arnold Moore and DeCamp Puna home. No,
