Hey, good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome, right back. We are with the Boy's Counsel of America here in the Cherokee Council and fill up the right stuff. Right. How are you doing. It's all doing great, doing, wonderful, bless, bless. We've got we've got fun stuff coming our way here. I'm going to expand the camera here so we can see what we got here. You brought a friend. First of all, introduce ye, introduce our company here.

Yeah, so this is mister Mike Eaton, uh, and we're here. I want to start off first by saying thank you to Unite Away, thank you to the Cherokee Council Board, thank you to our donors. We are just so blessed to be in this community and we wanted to say thank you. And we have two great events that we were here to promote. We've got our Pinewood Derby and then we have our golf tournament coming up on May twenty fourth. But I want to start off if we can with Mike.

Mike's going to talk about Pinewood Derby and Michael ahead, okay, yes, uh yeah, we're trying to get our fine with Derby re established here in town. So we're going to try to get what we call the district race. Wow good, Yes, and we're going to have this out the mall on April thirteenth from one to three. That way, nobody can play the wind and so from one to three, just all scouts anybody, I don't care who it is. Just bring your cars. There is a registration on

the line that you can go to to race for your car. And if you don't get online, just come on out anyway, we'll get you in the race. There you go. I'm taking a look at this car here, looks like the blue whale that you see down at Katusa. There exactly what it is. Yeah, it's the Route six to six whale. Oh gosh. And it rolls, goot, wheels out and everything getting Yeah, yeah, get a little bit of weight there where you need it. It's

all about distribution, isn't it. Distribution? And it basically that's pretty good job. I bet I've had down the track a few times, you know, once you get started on that. I understand that because I got friends my age who were playing with Derby boys. They're now playing with Derby men men. Okay, they like going, Hey, let's go play with the cars. Car. Well, sometimes i'm out here racing. Adults even bring their cars in. I bet they do. Captain Forever. Yes, they

said, this is what I built. I want to see go down the track. They just want to see it as one as they go down to track. Again, we're going to have open class race as well, and we've got door prizes. We're going to have the lot way you can see the list, but here you yeah, there's there's a list of door proses. Yeah, so throughout the race we're going to have the door prizes. Wonderful. Yeah, this is going to be a lot of fun. This is going to be a lot of fun. Well, we're hoping to get

back going again. So because back in the eighties and nineties whom you had sky Ama, Well I did the district christ here in town. It was popular every year. Yeah, and just kind of fiz it out. Well, it's for a rebirth. I think, you know, get that get that thing up and kicking, and I think once this group of kids that have never seen it, once they see this, I say, don't want to do it again. They're gonna be like the adults going one more time

down. Yeah, it's one of those things that it's just that fun. So this is gonna be cool. Well even even girls are doing it now, American heritage girls, sure, they're getting into the race. So there's this one young man that went to our school every year, winter, winter, winter. You know, like, all right, Alan, what's the trick here? What you doing here? Following directions? And that's all he was doing. You know, he didn't have to have it anything to do

anything, follow the directions. He just kept winning. He just loved those little trophies and he just loved having fun with it. So and that let other kids say on the quest here, because by golly, they're gonna go for Allan's trophy this year. And then you know, finally Allen kind of aged out and other people started winning, but they wanted to be the next towl. So I know how this goes. It's a it's a lot of fun. And then especially with little folks, young folks, they just really

get a kick out of Yes they do. You know, this is this is where we're going to be giving away for the first, second, third place winners. Oh great, so but the well it's just for display. Uh yeah, And they put their cars on their trophy. I got you, I got you, so they can have that there for time memorial. That's right, that's right, oh man. And I think that we're planning on to having a fishing derby in June, if I remember. I don't

know what the date is, but I know sometime in June. The Quanders of Blabies were sponsoring the co and then the other thing too, is in June twenty back, yeah, and twenty third. It's got road Fast. They've you heard of road Fast. Yeah, that's a lot of fun. That's the route sixty six. Yeah, celebration, and I'm going to be down there for races as well. So getting it all taken care of, you can be kind of busy, yes, yeah, I get busy with Pine with Derby. Well, you know, you know, it's a passion.

Once it gets in, you know, it's like that buggy just can't shake and you don't want to shake it. I've been doing this for thirty nine years. Thirty nine Yeah, for Pine with Derby races, my Heaven's sake. Yeah, I love it. It's a hobby. That's a hobby. We'll ask your wife. Triple A is sponsoring that road fast down there. Oh yeah, and they're doing it until twenty twenty six. That's true.

That's the big, big anniversary of the Mother Road, right, And you know, yeah, it seems like everywhere I've lived, I've been really near Route except for Florida, but I've always been either living right on or right near Route sixty six. And that that history is just so much a fabric of who we are and what we are and everything. Yeah, definitely tell us the story of America, you know, you know, the twentieth

century on. That's right. Good, yeah, good deal. So but anyway, I and questions anybody, Yeah, so go ahead, no, no, So again I want to say thank you again to Mike and his team because it's gonna be a great race. We want of our scouts that can go online at our website and reach of their cards, and we look forward to a great race April thirteenth and the start of something whole new, a big chapter in your life's kids, that's right, that's right, It

adults a life. That's why young. Yeah, because the open class can be for open for anybody, not just for not just for Scouts, but for adults as well as siblings, right, Yeah, that's exactly right, dear Allan Buzzwell race coming out of retirement, coming out of retirement over at them all. So yeah, watch out for a six foot seven, redheaded kid. We just have to be sixty five years old. Okay here all right, what you got going on with the golf with the golf tournament.

So we're excited again again. This is another event that we have coming up on May twenty four, right here to Adam's golf course. So we're looking forward to coming. Come and join us. You can register online at a Cherokee b SA dot org. You can come to the office. We're so excited to have the team with Howard feel and and uh as I would chair for the event this year, and and uh on the Tiffany Cook and and her and her team. It's just great to see the community come together and

help support scouting. We're so excited because uh this event uh will allow us to provide funding for the scouting program. So you know, we talk about the fall recruitment coming up. Our goal is three hundred and six new scouts this fall, so this event helps us towards that goal. So we're looking forward to another great event right here at Adams Golf Course. All right, this is great. You know, we might as well just call ourselves kind

of home of the Eagles because we have so many Eagle Scouts. I don't know what Philip's doing with these kids, but they stick in. Once they get in, they stay in. Would we have thirteen eagles? We did? We did. We had sixteen last year, sixteen sixteen last year, and so we're excited. And again it goes back to the leadership that we

have in this council. We have so many great leaders that are there with our scouts day in, day out, week in week out, and so along with that, we sat our brain for the first time in one hundred and fifteen years. Want to thank you not to wait for their support as well, because for the first time in the history of this council, we will have our own National Youth Leadership Training course right here in our council. And we already have twenty eight of our own scouts registered for this event.

And we're excited because of the first time in our one hundred and fifteen year history that we're hosting this event and so our scouts don't have to go to Kansas or somewhere else, you know, travel two three hours. They can just do it right here locally. And so we're excited for this event. And again it just provides that leadership training for our Scouts, which then allows us to have good programs and continue to to cut a program for another one

hundred and fifty more years. How do we sign up and how do we become sponsors? Again? Yes, so all you have to do is call call the Scout office nine one eight three three six nine one seven zero Ora, go to our website Cherokee bsa dot org. All right, very good, very good. And of course with the derby, how do we sign up there? Sign up in the same spot my counsel jerkeebsa dot org.

Okay, very good. There you go and make sure that you're available for both these big, big advanced here because this is going to be a lot of fun for young and old alike. And and you know, if you're not a great golfer, it doesn't matter, that's right, Come and have fun. Come and have fun, right, you know, support our Scouts. Somebody will find your law sch off ball won't be you, but I

mean, but we will have a lot of fun. And it's all for a great cause, and of course the results, the numbers we went over the last time you were here, Philip, were just phenomenal. It wasn't just the ego Scouts, but the way that we were just outpacing all the Scout councils throughout the United States and our area correct, everything it was is unbelievable and again goes back to the leadership in this council. We have a great, great, great board. We have one of the best boards in

America. We have great Scout leaders again to support this community, starting with United Way with their financial support, and then our council board and our donors. You know, we have a great group of volunteers that are dedicated to the longevity of this council and keeping Scouting affordable for every youth I wanted to have been scouting. We're just so proud of that. Last year was a

great year again and we couldn't have done about to support this community. We've had a support of our board members, support of volunteers, and wetter support of United Way. So we're very blessed to be right here in Bartibo, Oklahoma. And we have the right kids too, because they still know that there's a big value in scouting. Some of the places in the United States, it's not as prevalent, but we've got such a good name and such

a good reputation and such wonderful outcomes here. It's like, what do you mean you got to be a scout? And kids, if you're listening, you should be at school. But if you're listening, bug mom and dad saying I want to be in that, I want to join, and then we'll get you going. I want to thank you both of you, gentlemen, for coming in here, having us, thanks for bringing the car that brings back a lot of good. It really does, it really does.

And of course the golf tournament coming up as well. And stay tuned, ladies and gentlemen, we have our news coming up at the top of the our local news. And then Brian killed me all right here on K one, the one you trust
