And good morning and welcome to our community Connection program on this Tuesday morning, sixty nine degrees at eight thirty five. I'm Nathan Thompson, and we have got some great guests coming in this morning from the Bartlesville round Up Club. And I know, ladies that we have a big event coming on today. We have or not today later on in the week. Virginia Sloop, who is the treasurer of the Barnsville round Up Club, and Tammy fall Leaf,
a lifetime member. My goodness, there you go. So let's talk about what's going on beginning on Thursday. Well, it's the first night of our three day rodeo. It's an IPR a ACRA and open rodeo that means International Professional Rodeo Association in American Cowboys Rodeo Association sanctioned SAT semi pro. But the entries were last week or the week before, so they've all pre entered and we get contestants from all over the country because it is an international professional rodeo,
that's right. And then but we also get a load of locals. We have a lot of a lot of cowboy talent in this area and one hundred mile radius there are some tough, tough cowboys and how girls that are just from here, and they'll be at the rodeo too. And this is the forty third year for the Green Country Rodeo. I mean, what a milestone. That's right, that's right, it's absolutely incredible. So let's talk to us a little bit about the dates when everything is going on where the
rodeo is actually held. Virginia. I know this is you. You said this is your first year, very first year, very first year to deal with this. So what are the dates for the rodeo this year? I'll start Thursday, the twenty fifth, and we'll go Friday, the twenty sixth, and then Saturday, the twenty seventh. Okay, okay, so the twenty fifth, that's on Tuesday or Thursday. Look at that working this early
morning. So on Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week. And what what time do the things begin at. Well, the mutton busting starts at seven o'clock and they have that prey rodeo, but the grand entry will be straight up eight o'clock, okay, and that's seven am or am pm. Okay. I want to make sure. I want to make sure. So seven pm is the mutton busting. That's always a fun thing it is as well.
Yeah, a lot of cute little kids to come and get in that, and it's they kind of they kind of time it as well as score it. And it's a lot of fun. Is six and under. Oh that's always That means I'm a little bit too old, little bit too just a tiny bit not too much, but Mutton Dustin always had a lot of
fun to watch. And seeing this going on, you know here, I mean the week after Cavalcade, I mean I know that you know, the round Up Club's there also work in hand in hand with the Barroso round Up Clubs, So you know, having these back to back events, I mean, that's just great for Northeast Oklahoma. I'm sure you probably get a lot
of the Cavalcade teams in as well. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, there will be a lot of those people that enter very good and so this is going to be at the round Up Club arena that is at Highway sixty right by the airport, right, Okay, all right, so how does how does this work? As far as it probably costs a lot of money to put on this type of an event. So whenever you're looking at getting folks to be involved in the Green Country Rodeo. Who are some of the
folks who are helping you out this year? We have some great sponsors. We have a lot of repeat oil sponsors that the board has worked with. They're all familiar with them. Some of our big ones. We've got Jim Moore, one Shot Top Flight who's donated some prizes this year. We've got three p Farms, Skyway, Honda, Cody Hub Construction, Denise bow Line,
Bartlesol Visitors, and Osh Casino. We have many more. Those are just some right off the top of our head that have pitched in and helped out from our community and getting the livestock in for the Green Country Rodeo as well. I mean, I'm looking here and you've got an incredible contractor who is bringing in the stock for this rodeo. E there we have Kyle Robinson
with Big Horn Rodeo Company. He's been our contractor for the last I don't know five years, four or five years anyway, and he was also the contractor out at the Cavil and we have a lot of faith in his ability to put on a fantastic rodeo. He has great help. He just comes early a month or two early and lets us know what we need to fix. And and and our club members and our play Day members are our volunteers
that have They've spent many hours out there. They've been there all week for the last two or three weeks, almost every night all year long, really but you know crunch radio, crunch time, they have been. They've been out there working, fixing bleachers, welding shoots, getting things just so it will go smoothly. And I would like to brag on the board of directors if I may. We've got Devin Gray as our president and he's been the
president for the last several years. Randy Hauser, vice president, Tamara Hoppik Secretary. This is Virginia Sloop, the treasurer, donnah Hoppick, Brody Peterson, Jessica Peterson, and Mike Peterson. Those people are your main ones that you see out there if you drive by, one of those people are almost out there every day checking on things. I mean, it's a property. We have forty eight acres and members can people can join in the club and
they can go out and ride in the forty eight acres. They can get a key to the arena, they try to keep it nice for him. But we also depend on those members to help us out at the rodeo of course, so it takes a lot of people. We've got parkers, we've got Gatehill concession help. It takes a lot of people and it's a huge production. Yeah, absolutely, And of course everything kicks off on Thursday evening seven o'clock. What are some of the events that will be going on on
Thursday and throughout the week. Well, we've got all the nine sanctioned events. There's bronk riding, blue rye and barrel racing, steer roping, tie down, caf Ropen, team roping. I probably missed one, did I say bear back bronc But anyway, also at nightly the Pines, eight and under kids barrel racers can come in enter nightly. It's a nightly jackpot. You don't have to pre enter, you have to pre enter that night. We got eight and under pee wee barrel racers and then a fifteen and under
junior barrel racers and they can come. They can enter all three nights if they want to, and their entry fee is probably around twenty five or thirty dollars, I'm not sure. It's a lot cheaper than the professionals in during the rodeo, but they will be run during the rodeo and it's always a lot of fun to see those littles. And it's as the age as the first day of the rodeo. So whatever age you are on the first day of the rodeo, that's how you know if you're fifteen and under, well,
it is entertainment for the whole family as well. You know, for people who want to come out and actually watch the rodeo, where do they get tickets? How much did they cost and where can they get involved in this. We actually had a little bitches in radio queen contests going on. Those people have tickets available. Our emission tickets are sold by our rodeo queens.
There's a lot of information on our Facebook, so we do ask that you look there to kind of get in touch with one of those contestants. We've got Chesney Gray, Raya Asberry, and Kaylin Lamy all contestants that can get tickets for those The advanced mission tickets are eight dollars if you get them beforehand, ten dollars at the gate, so we still got tickets to sell if you want to get them beforehand, and then with that ticket you also
get an entry for the prizes. One of them is a Blackstone grill with all the accessories. The other is a chance to enough to win a five hundred dollars Rainys Butchering gift card, and then one of two Top White birthday parties. They've donated two birthday parties to be one from Top Flight, so those are also prizes to be one. Yeah, that sounds a great idea.
And of course you'll have vendors and food trucks there as well throughout the entire event, and tickets can also be purchased at the gate as well. Correct, correct, And this is our first year with food trucks, so we're excited to kick those off with some good local and people coming from Afar. Well, that's going to be incredible. And of course our sister station k rig one O four point nine, we will be out there for the
rodeo on Thursday kicking it off. I will actually be out there with that room, and I think we started four and go until six, just kind of previewing the rodeo before it actually occurs. And you know, so many great tickets door prize is going on got the Queen and Little Bridges contest as well. I mean, just an incredible event for the community as well. Like for her to tell us some of our door prizes. If they buy a program and it's a gate, it's five dollars to buy a program at
the gate and there's a ticket inside of it. And every night we have oh there's probably at least ten each night, maybe more door prizes. And Virginia can tell you there's some nice prizes. Yes, what are some of those dore prizes, Virginia. We've had some great door prices this year. Rip in Life donated a fishing trip, so you can go with guided service and do a fishing trip. You have a chance to win that. BNC Firework donated a fun firework package, so now that you can't get those,
you can still have some fun with fireworks. Red Apple Bowling donated a bowling package. The Hilton n donated a one night's stay with a fifty dollars dinner card. Sooner State expressos donated some cards for some great coffee. We've also got hto with some different drink giveaways. Raw Heritage donated some hair services and then we've got red Dirt rubs and Bungee Fitness. They've donated a party. You can go have fun and then the recognition plays donated some neat pocket eze.
Wow, we have several more. Those are ones that I thought of the top of my head. Cell get you your program because it's worth five dollars mini prizes. I mean, when you get your program, you can take it to the concession and find out almost immediately if you've won or not. However, the announcer will be announcing the ticket number and who donated the
prize. Wow. Yeah, just an incredible event again. Green Country Rodeo the forty third annual rodeo going on this weekend getting Thursday, Friday and Saturday out at the Roundup Club arena that's right on Highway sixty west of Bulowsville, across from the airport. Tickets are available now. In fact, we've got some family four packs of tickets that we will be given away over the next couple of days on our stations as well. I mean, just a great
event with the round Up Club as well. Go ahead. One more thing is Torpedo Switch Outfitters has made our Bordeville Roundup Club rodeo shirts and she's got one on Yeah. On the back it says Bartswel Green Country forty third Annual Kicking up the Radio. And so they have partnered with us and they will be selling those shirts at the rodeo. Good, good, good. And if you're watching on our livestream on kwetv dot com or on our Facebook page, you got to see the back of that T shirt. It's pretty good,
pretty good design as well. Wow, all right, forty thirday an Green Country Radio Thursday, Friday and Saturday out at the Arena at the Arena just west of town on Highway sixty one. More thing, go ahead, Yes, I'm sorry, that's okay. So we have theme nights, oh yes, Thursday night all kids, well it's pink Night. Thursday's pink Night. But all kids twelve and under will be getting admitted free on Thursday night, so that'd be a good time to bring the family out. Friday night

And then on Saturday night is Patriot Night and it's red, white and blue and all veterans if you've got an ID card you can get in free. That's great. Yes, not only holding a great event, you're also given back to the community as we try. I really do absolutely well. Tamy Fowley, Virginia Sloop
