Welcome, welcome in his time. Now for our community connection right here on K one, the one you trust. Know. It's not Green Country Christmas all over again, but hyper story, it's the same thing. It's not Christmas. And we're not talking quite about the Spring show yet, even though it's on our calendar, and we've got that on the calendar. But now I'm here today to talk about Bartlesville A's connection. Let's do that. I know, one of my favorite favorite topics in the whole wide world. I
just love getting ladies together and encouraging each other. And that's what we do. And our next one coming up, our next event that we invite all area ladies to is our Valentine's Luncheon and we're going to be at the Salvation Army and it's Thursday, February eighth, and so it's coming up really quick. It's kind of earlier than Valentine's, but it's still our Valentine's Luncheon. But we always are the second Thursday of the month for our events almost always.
You know, don't ever say always because then you might throw in something that changes. But most of the time we're the second Thursday of the month. And so the second Thursday in February is February eighth, will be at the at the Salvation Army. Our theme is Heart to Heart and our speaker is Fran Corona, coming from Tulsa. We've had Fran before. She's delightful.
She is just a neat, neat, neat person and she's going to talk about the conditions of your heart and she does kind of an interactive type of talk. She makes it fun. You know, you don't just have to sit there and just listen, listen, listen, you you know, she makes you think with her and do some things with her and stuff too, So so it's a lot of fun. We also have our very own Alice Winkler, who is going to do a little craft type of thing for
us. The Valentine's kind of a wind catcher that's shaped in a heart and and do a Valentine and so you can make that for yourself or make it for someone else and you know, give it to them too. But that's kind of our day. So it should be a whole lot of fun, just very casual too. It's not going to be a super fancy thing at the Salvation Army. You know, we'll meet in their gym and uh and
I think we're having Sloppy Joe's for lunch, you know too. So it's just going to be a really casual, fun type of event, but it's one that we want to invite all the area ladies to and then bring a friend, you know. It's a perfect time to bring someone, you know. I do know of several people this last couple of weeks who were really low, you know. I mean this the weather kind of today's beautiful today,
it's great, everybody's you know, happy again and stuff too. But some people have gone through kind of the January blues and the colds and things like that. This is a good time to invite them to go do something with somebody. Get out and let's let's do something and have some fun together and so meet other ladies who have kind of some of the same common interests that you do, just by wanting to get together and love Bartlesville, love
this area, and just want to have some fellowship together. So this is a good good way to do it. If you'd like to come, it's not expensive. It's just ten dollars for the lunch, but we do need reservations so we know how much food to prepare for, how many chairs for the Salvation Army to tables and chairs for us to set up for. So we do ask that you make a reservation. We ask for reservations by the Tuesday before Tuesday at noon so that we can get everything ready and prepared,
which that would be February sixth is the Tuesday before. And you can do it several ways. We have several phone numbers you can call, but the easiest way is just call here at the radio station and we'll give you We'll get you the reservation in because I'm one of them to take the reservations actually on texts too, so if they'll let me know if you'd like a reservation for it, we just want your name. You don't have to prepay or
anything like that. You'll pay at the door and just ten dollars bring. We don't take credit cards, so it's checker cash and pay at the door and come and be a part of this. So it should be a lot of fun, great place. The chitadel there is really nice, and the gymnasium is great, nice tie in there. There's a lot of love Salvation Army exactly, and we've been there before in February, and then that's kind
of our clue for it. We do it. And the nice thing too, is we do ask if people would like to we call it optional community connection, if you'd like to bring some food items for their food pantry, some can goods and that type of thing. I already got my little box of cane goods ready to take it to have there for it. That the last time I went to the store, I kind of stoked up on a few things, thought Okay, this is what I want to take for the
luncheon. So so yeah, bring it. Bring a bag, or bring a few, bring a couple of cans or whatever it might be that you might and help them restock their food pantry because again that it's a it's a tough time a year for a lot of people, and so that food pantry at the Salvation Army can really make a difference for people. So we can help restock that, spread the love with others a little bit too. This is a grand little plane. Yeah, yeah, that's what we do.
Okay, you want to know about what we've gotten. March is that kind of Okay, March, We're not doing a luncheon March. We're actually doing a girls' night out and we're going to do it at the Creamery, So if people haven't been to the Creamery, the Rocks across the street adventure that they have, and we are going to have ice cream. It's a girls' night out and we're going to have some of their delicious ice cream that they have there and kind of make your own Sunday type of thing in brownies and
that type of thing. So that will be it. And we're also having a fashion show from the Fresh Start, which the fresh Start is the resale shop that here in town, the consignment shop, and that actually supports the Lighthouse, and all the money that comes from Fresh Start resale shop the consignment shop goes to help support the Lighthouse. And so yeah, so we're going to be at the Creamery helping us support the Rock and what they do.
But then we're going to help support through the fashion show the Fresh Start. So it should be a whole lot of fun for that. The cost isn't as much for that. I think it's five or seven dollars or something like that for it. And we'll also have a few items that if you want to bring for the Rock and for the Creamery as donations, just like we're doing in February for the Salvation Army. We're going to be doing that for
the Rock and for their after school programs and things like that. You know something, the Ladies Connection, not only do you do some things that are quite visible, some things called the invisible type. We touched the hearts of people that you don't see every day. Well, we try to. We try to just make a little impact wherever you can and just spread a little God's love to people. And that's them. That's what it's all about. So yeah, and you know we some people will say, well, is
this kind of like affiliate with any church or something like that. No, we're just ladies who all you get together. We're all different churches and some that don't go to church too, But you know what, we're just all different ladies in the community that want to get together and spread that love to each other. So that's what we do. Then in April we have We're Spinning in the Spring in April, oh, because and we're going to have
our program is going to be about primitive rugs and the DMA grow. I'm looking this up, so I said, to be sure, I say, our business right hometown Yarns and More is as her store and it's in actually Delaware, just north of Nowada, and she's got this yarn store. But anyway, she's going to show us how to make primitive primitive rugs. And we're going to be at Tri County Tech at the event Center for our luncheon. It's going to be a luncheon and that's April eleventh. Yeah, so
it's going to be a whole lot of fun for that. So it should be should be an interesting one and just encourage everybody to put mark that in your calendars. March is March fourteenth, April is April eleventh. Again, you know, I have to remember those dates. Just remember the second Thursday, and that's the easiest way to do it. But then I want to think ahead towards May because May is our annual event that we always have, not always in May, but usually in May. But it's our annual business
expo. We a Ladies Business Expo, and what we do is we feature businesses that are owned or operated managed by ladies here in our community and they can have a booth and they can you know, sell their items or just show their items or demonstrate their items whatever it might be they like to do.
Some are our home businesses and some are actually location businesses and all two we'll have everything from insurance and real estate and finance planning to mary Kay to massage to painting to ye all kinds of different things that the candy stores you
know that type of thing too. So so we have a lot of different businesses and that's our business Expo and we actually will be at the Fairgrounds and Dewey for that one this year in May, so we're gonna we're gonna go up there and have a lot of extra space, so there's a lot of space that we're going to be able to do that so we can ably expand out it a little bit more too. So that'll be our main event. So we have a lot of fun things coming up. Bartlesville's Connection again,
it's for anybody. There's no membership or dues. Just come and join us when you can. We know people are busy, so you know if you do come, you can sign up to be on our email list so that you'll know when the events are and and just RSVP and come when you can. Good story. Thank you, thank you for letting us talk about it all people, have a wonderful Valentine's Day, and come join us for our luncheon.
