We welcome welcome time now for our community connection right here on Kay one, the one you drives gry Potter with his today. First of all, hey, great auction this past week. We had so much fun on Saturday. Yes, it was a great auction. We had a lot of people. It was great to see people again and do give people bargains and uh, it was it was a great show. Yeah, didn't have we have fun things. I mean we had everything from jewelry to lawnmowers to recliners or tables
to I mean something for everybody. It was. It was great. So yeah, and now you've got something good. Well more more events coming up. Yes, Bart's Valet's Connection. We never stop. We always have lots of great things going. And Um, a week from Thursday is our next one and it's going to be a Heart Matters and so we're calling it the Heart of it All. That kind of makes sense exactly. And uh, what what our program is going to be? Um, Pam and Chris Bennett
and they they do puppet presentations. Their businesses is called Room at His Table their organization is and they just do wonderful puppet presentation. So they're going to do something kind of fun for us, for Barbsbilet's connection of course Heart Matters is gonna make us feel welcome at their wonderful facility. And then we have our inspirational speaker, and she's coming to us from Flower Mound, Texas.
So I'm not sure I haven't heard her if she has an X in or not, but we're gonna bring her up here, bring that Texan up and she's going to talk to us about chaos needs a color chart, so I mean we might have our favorite colors. I don't know, but anyway, she's going to try and put it all together and make some sense of things. So it's that she's an author and blogger who loves cycling, gardening,
cooking, and crafts. She has a marketing degree from Texas A and M. We won't hold that against her, so she'll be speaking by the time she gets exactly exactly. But now Shelley should be fun. So now we have it. We have a great luncheon coming up again. It's a week from Thursday, August tenth, and it's just ten dollars for lunch and we invite any ladies who want to come to join us. It will be a
great time. We just need you to RSVP by next Tuesday, a week from tomorrow is our deadline for RSVPs because we do need to turn an infre catering and things like that, and we do need exact numbers. So you know, go ahead and make your reservation. If it looks like at the last minute you can't come, please cancel because we have to pay for all of our reservations and things that we do when you cater things in so so yeah, but we'd love to have people come. It really is a good
time. If people say, what is Bartlesville's Connection, It's an organization that's in this community for the last oh, I don't know, forty years, maybe something like that. They we're actually the parent organization of it is eighty five years old because they're celebrating their eighty fifth anniversary this year. But here in town it's been maybe half of that or something, I think so.
But yeah, it's it's a ladies who get together, Ladies from all different ages and all different interests and all different churches and we come together and just kind of connect to each other, try and do something encouraging, to always have a good message of encouragement for ladies. Um, it always is faith
based too, and so UM we don't shy away from that that. We do want to encourage people in their faith as well, and UM, we don't push them towards one certain church, but we do um to having a faith walk and we think that that's really important, that that's where people get their hope, that's where they get their love, that's where they get um grace from is through their faith walk. And so so we try and encourage that a lot. But we do. If you'd like to know more about
it, give us a call here at the RAI station. We've got some flyers for it and we'll be glad to take a reservation as well and get you signed up for it. Um and uh. And it's just a really good time. Then once a year we invite men to come. You guys get to come too. Yes, Tim, Tim in the front always he's like, okay, another ladies thing. No, this is in September is our guest night. We call it guest night and meaning you know, invite a ladies, invite men whoever, you know whatever. It's it's a fun
night. Our theme is going to be freedom Isn't Free? And we're going to honor veterans or just want to kind of inte invite everybody to come and celebrate America and stuff. But freedom isn't free. Our program is going to be a gun safety program by Sweet Shot Firearms Good Friends. Yeah, they are going to come and talk about gun safety and so I think that'll be really interesting. And then our music and our message will both be performed by
a veteran himself. I think he's I was in the Navy, Bill Fuller, and he's another Texan who's coming up to share with us and stuff too. So should be a really fun evening. We're going to be at timber Oaks, which is a great place to meet. Timber Oaks is I call it a wedding venue, but it's for reunions or whatever it might be. It's just west of town, on top of the hill. I say, it's between the airport or the rodeo grounds and the new casino. Yeah so's.
It's on the left side the road, the south side the road. If you're heading out of town and up at the top of the hill, and you'll just turn down a beautiful shelterhouse that actually has sides on it so that you know, if it is raining or something like that, you know, you can stay if it's if it's cold out, you can stay cool like that. They've got a fireplace in there. It's just a really neat venue, and so we'll be out there. We're gonna have barbecue, Dank's
Barbecue. So yeah, it'll be just a really fun nut freedom in Free Guest Night September seventh, so mark your calendars for that. It should be just a really good time. Then in October, we're looking ahead towards October twelfth, and we're actually going to be meeting at our Vest East Side branch in their community room, and we're gonna have free Friends Luncheon, a free
Friends luncheon. So guess what our topic is the SPCA. Yeah, Tanya Pete from the SPCA is going to come and kind of clew us in more about what's going on with the SPCA. So we're calling it Free Friends Luncheon. And then our speakers coming from Arkansas and her name's Connie Harris, and
she talks about the seasons of life cends of life. So yeah, so October twelfth, then one of our highlights of the year that we do too is our annual fundraiser that we do out at Hillcrest Country Club and that's going to be in November, and it's where we have our Cake Extravaganza where we have people who make cakes and we have the decoration that they are the decorations on the table, but we also vote for our favorite. We give prizes
for the best cakes and things like that. The fundraising part of it is those become part of a silent auction and then part of a live auction to the top three cakes that are in it. We also have a silent auction set up around the room that has all kinds of goodies in it. It could be a candy, it could be casseroles, it could be cakes, It could be cookies. It also could be paintings, it could be Christmas decorations, all kind We call it Holiday Extravaganza is our theme because we have
all kinds of holiday type things. Since it's in November, we are actually have a lot of times turkey and dressing for lunch and stuff too, so that that's our lunch that day. But it's just a really fun event that's out at Hillcrest, So we're we are just looking ahead toward a great fall. It's hard to believe. We're thinking toward fall school starting soon and back into the swing of fall things, and so that's what we're doing. Bars
relays connection too. It's starting to think falling holidays. All right, Well, thank you very much. Appreciate it. Thanks for letting us give a clue. If people want to know more about it, just coming here at the office, not a big deal. We'll always make sure that we've got room for you here. Appreciate it, Miss Joy. All Right, we got the weather coming up here. Alan Crane's gonna tell you how hot it's gonna be.
