Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome. It's time now for our community connection. And joining me today is Sherry Wilton with the Martblesville Chamber of Commerce Greater Martlesville Area Chamber of Commerce. If we want to be specific, because you number an area, big area there. How are you doing today? Doing good? Doing good? Looking forward to a new month. I am it's going to be a busy month April, and no fool and you're going to be busy. We are going to

be busy, and it's gonna be warmer weather. It's finally for a change, it'll stay warm. We get these period we get I can't figure out if it's sprinter or wing. That's good exactly. It's like we go from eighty to fifty and yeah, and some days we go from freezing to eighty five in the same the same day. That's such a welcome to bartles Bell. But that only happens in the spring and fall, the winter, in the and the I'm pretty pretty concert yeah, pretty constant. Well we have

cooking well, let's see, we've got lots. This next Friday, we have partnered with the Young Professionals of Bartlesville who fall under our umbrella, and I'm real excited about this event. It's the first it's an inaugural event for emerging Stars under forty and they're going to be honoring or we're going to be honoring together ten different individuals in the community who are under the age of forty, who are leaders in the community, have given back to the community,

and it's just I'm real excited about the event. It is. Yesterday she said they had like ten tickets left, so it's it's a yeah, like a I almost sold out event. And I was really excited that the response they got. Of course they put it on you know with social media and everything too, but you know, I told them you're probably not gonna get that many nominations. People just don't seem to nominate, and by gosh,

they got I think it was over sixty. And then they were sent some paper, you know, form to fill out and we got four nine of them back. So the selection committee had a really tough tough time. But the goal was, you know, I've wanted to do this for probably three four five years, been rolling around in my head. I wanted to do

this because you know, at our annual awards in Galen May. You know, we owned just a few people, and there's so many up and coming, really strong younger folks in our community and they're gonna be the ones taking the helm, they're gonna be the ones, you know, going to be leading, and just wanted to, you know, have a chance for them to be honored. So there's ten great candidates and there's probably well they were all really good, but I mean it got down to it was just really

hard on the selection committee. I mean there was about six that we had to cut that we were all just dying. It's like no, I mean we only have ten. So anyhow, so that we're excited about that. That is next Friday night, and just really excited to honor some folks. And then April fourth is our next business after ours always the first Thursday of the month, and it's gonna be at Hillcrest Country Club. So that's why

a good one. They always have great food, great drinks, and just a really good time to connect with some other businesses, meet some folks, and so come out for that. It's free for our members, or if you want to just come as a guest, you're more than welcome just to kind of come check it out and see what the Chamber's about, talk to some of us, and we'd love to love to have you. And then April tenth is our I don't know how many years we've been doing this,

but it's a long time. It's our Bartleswiel Day at the Capitol and we runt a charter bus and we take our leadership Bartlesville group as well as some other chamber members down to the capital and spend the day down there. We

have most of the top leadership. Unfortunately Mett Panel, who's one of our favorite speakers, is out of town that day, but we do have the governor and just a lineup of some of the top leadership coming in and they come to our group, they speak to our group, we have lunch with our legislators, and just this is a really good day. So if anyone is interested in that, we still have some seats left on the bus. And like I said, it's a charter bus. We're not going down there

on a school bus. It's a very nice, nice bus. Yes, it's it's great. We stop at midway on the way there, and anyhow, we have lunch while we're there, and it's just a really good day, So if anyone is interested in that once again, it can be found at Bartlesfield dot com can register for that. It's sixty dollars and includes transportation and lunch and all the different things that come with it. So and then in April seventeenth, seven days later, is our last Women of our Women

in Business luncheon for the year. We kind of close it down starting in May for the summer, and then we'll kick back up back in the fall. But summer just just kind of kind of a crazy time. But I'm really excited about the topic. It's Anna Erwin, who we've had before. It's been several years, but she is going to be talking on Boost your

Conversation IQ. And as you know, so many of us communicate via email, text, God help us with social media, but you know, it seems like so much communication happens that way, and really, you know, your relationships are really form more the good relationships are formed with actual conversation, face to face, talking to people, and so it's gonna be interactive, it's going to be engaging. She's a she's a good speaker, so we're excited about that. And that is, like I said, April seventeenth.

That's at Hillcrest Country Club and it's just a way for our women to get together and just make connections, meet each other and then some professional development or just some motivational type you know speakers. Last month was really interesting. She was really really good. It was just so motivational. But so anyhow, that is April seventeenth, So can we take a quick break. I was just going to ask you do we need to take a break, because I

keep going we do. We need to make an announcement here, folks. It's been an accident, a five car accident that Bison Road, no water road. You're asked to avoid the area for the time being. We'll let you know when it gets a little better. So here we go once again. It's a five car accident at Bison and no water roads. Avoid the area. We'll be back after these words from Tall Grassmotors, Arnold Moore and knee Camp a funeral home, get Real Ministries, and Kitty Westland Kitty College.

Well at Arnold Moore and ne Camp funeral Home. No, he's done a good job. After a funeral, I'll come in I say, guys, great job. We really hit that out of the park. Today. The family was well pleased. And that's the phrase right there, when a family member tells me, you made this experience so much easier than I thought it was going to be. Thank you. That is the high five moment

right there. And then six months later you run into them in a store or a restaurant and they come up to you and shake your hand, put their arm around your hug and say, this is our funeral director. He helped us so much when dad, he is a nice guy. His staff is so compassionate and so caring. They did a great job. That is the ultimate experience. They've had time to grieve a little bit and reflect on what you've done, and they come in and they're still on cloud nine because

you help them pay tribute to someone they really cared about. It'll be all right. We'll walk through this together. Arnold Moore and Ni Camp Funeral sevent Dewey, Bartlesville. We'll walk through this together. Is it time to start thinking about a new car? But the thought of dealing with the large dealerships is just too intimidating, too confusing. There is an easier way, tall Grass Motors. Tall Grass Motors doesn't play all the confusing games a large dealerships

play. Tall Grass Motors has continually been voted Bartlesville's best used car dealer year after year. Go by tall Grass Motors today and enjoy looking at over sixty used cars, trucks and SUV's all priced to save you money. Tall Grass Motors, Highway seventy five North in Bartlesville. Hey everyone, this is Pastoranda and Pastor Shiloh with Get Real Ministries, and this is your Get Real minute. Most everyone has heard the scripture John three sixteen, For God so loved

the world that he gave his only begotten son. Whosoever should believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting lie. I believe that that scripture is really of no avail if not followed up by the very next scripture John three seventeen. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. And that is

the foundational scripture by which get Real Ministries was founded. Come worship Jesus with Us Sunday's ten thirty am, Wednesday six thirty pm, Saturday night six pm, and Jesus further third Saturday every month Jesus Urder is an outreach we do third Saturday of every month where they receive the Word of God, the Love of God, free food, free clothes, free to go food bags.

Come worship with us anytime you can see it. You can visit us online on Facebook at the get Real Ministries paid Get Real Ministry Services Sunday at ten thirty am and Wednesdays at six thirty pm. When it comes to your children at choosing the right care is important. You want peace of mind knowing you're

putting your child in the care of the best facility. Wesley and Kitty College is a DHS three star rated Christian facility that is accredited through NECPA and offer programs where each child's individuality is recognized and supported by loving and caring Christian teachers. For more about Wesley and Kitty College, some by seventeen eighty Silver Lit Road and see what they have to offer. Wesley and Kitty College is now hiring. Hey, we're back, and we do have that accident at Bison

Road and No Water Road. Five car accident and the road is closed right now until you can get that taken care of, so please avoid the area. We're back with our community connection Sherry Wilt, and we were talking about chamber events coming. We got about halfway through the month event we did Lot's going on in April, busy Spring. We do have another event that's designed for our members and it's a small event by design, and it's called speed

Networking. I always say it's like speed dating, not that I've ever speed dated, but it's it's usually about I don't know, fifteen to twenty, but they go around and they all introduce themselves to each other and by the end of the night, everyone's laughing and carrying on. And it's from four to five, so it's just a great way to endure day. But some really good connections. There's really fun stories that have come out of that of

businesses that have connected with each other. And that's the whole point. And I always tell people it's same thing with business after hours. You may meet someone at after hours and you may not need the service or whatever it is they do, but later on you may you know, your your aunt needs something or you know, and you can oh, you know somebody, you know, family member, whatever, and you're like, oh, I need I met so and so you ought to call you know them, and give

them a shout and see what they can do. So it's all about, you know, making the connections and trying to give our members who are looking for that those opportunities. So both of those are free events, and like I said, speed networking is that from four to five, it's at the chamber and it's just a fun way to kind of end your day. And then we end the month with a pretty big event and it is our classic

golf tournament. There are always lots of work, but this is out at Hillcrest Country Club, so it does give folks who aren't necessarily a member or chance to play at the club. And I always tell people this is our only really true blatant fundraiser because everything we do is not it's for there's a purpose, it meets a goal for members, but this one pretty much. I mean, you can network on the golf course, of course, but

it's a fundraiser for our maintenance fund. And we are housed if you don't realize, in the train depot downtown and it was built in nineteen oh nine, so anytime there are issues, maintenance issues, they're never cheap to fix or islam a major expense type thing. So and every year I think we're going to skate by and not have something, and every year it's something. So anyhow, the funds raised from that tournament go to support, you know,

maintaining the land. People also don't realize that that park that's right there with the gazebo the south south of the chamber. You know, we maintain all of that whole area from the lower Christmas of the villa is from the south park all the way to that parking lot and it's just a lot. And we want to keep the integrity of the building and you know, really keep up with the land. And we like having the green space down there.

People like to use it Farmer's Market. We let them use it all summer fall and it's just it's great, you know, for the community. But it does take money to upkeep all that. So anyhow, so that is a tournament, a golf tournament April twenty fifth, like I said, at Hillcress Country Club, and we would love to have you play. You can play solo or you can get your own team together. It's one twenty

five to play or five hundred and four team. So we would love to have people come out for that and you can find out more at the website, as all of these events are listed on our website Bartlesville dot com. Also check out our website if you are interested or curious about, you know, mission of the Chamber. Some of you know what we do, what our programs are. Just it's all the informations on there. It's pretty pretty

easy to use. I'm not a real techy person and to me, I can navigate pretty well around it. So and I really don't say there you go, So it's it's a it's user friendly, I guess that's the corrector. It's user friendly, but it gives a lot of information and we would love to talk to anyone who's interested in joining. We have right now seven hundred and shoots. I had boardmanting yesterday seven seventy two. I think members in the community some you know, most of our businesses, but we do

have some individuals. We have a lot of nonprofits, so it's just a variety of businesses. You know, from the one man, one person shop to you know, major corporations, so it's just a real mix of businesses and we all unite to try to enhance quality of life, work on things like that. For Bartlesville, and you do a great job. We're really blessed to be here and really blessed to have your organization kind of kind of

coordinating a lot of different things that go along. How's that book doing, The one you put together every year comes out at the first of the year. You've got an elect I imagine a lot of them went out. Oh yeah, we did deliver our community as a twenty twenty four community guide, and yes we have some. I mean we print purposely so that we can give them out throughout the year. They're designed specifically for newcomers to the community,

and it's a great selling piece for the community. So I always encourage if you have anyone, you know, friend, family that's thinking about moving here or has moved here it stop by the chamber and get one. They're free. It's one hundred and twenty I think it's a hundred and twenty page book. Then it's full color. But it gives all sorts of information about Bartlesville. I mean, it's very comprehensive, and you know, it's really

good books, So you got to see it to really appreciate it. It's a mixture of the old fashioned YELP pages with the nice glossy pictures about everything that's going on maps and you know where to find, how to get to and all that. And when with all these folks coming in from Blue Whale, ABB and the new electric company it's Lincoln, Lincoln, it's coming into town too. I imagine a few of those have gone elsewhere. Yes,

we're excited to get some some new folks in town. And the expansions that are going on, the ABB expansion, just there's some good things happening. So it's a good time to good time to be in Bartlesville. And just remember, folks, if you were listening long distance today online and you're trying to get a fix on what Bartlesville is all about with the chamber, Christmas in the vill is pretty dark cool, thank you. I just signed the contract for next year, so well, a couple of weeks ago, before

spring break. I signed it and sent it off, So we're locked in for this coming year. You don't let anything get passion well, you know, I sat on that one for a while. But we're opening earlier, so of course the price went up, so I was like, oh, this is killing me. But we're going to open November weekends, not November Thanksgiving weekend, on that Saturday after Thanksgiving. So yeah, we're going to open a little bit earlier and give people a little bit more time and just

we're curious to try that. So all right, we'll see how that flies. Yeah, I think it'll be good. Actually, all right, he surey. Thank you for being here as always, absolutely we appreciate y'all. Have a great holiday weekend you too. Happy Easter, al right, Happy Easter eggs everybody. We've got more coming up right here on K one. I have diabetes.
