I'm Tom Davis. We're bringing you the class of twenty three graduation from Barnstall High School, once again from the lower Gymnasium. It is being brought to you by Barnstall Nursing Home and Holden Septic and once again this is the one hundred second annual commandment taking place here tonight. We've got a little bit of a delay, but they're trying to get everything in order. Everyone who needs

to be on the main stage and seated, the band is ready. They have to get a couple of extra chairs in because well it's a graduation that it is kind of a small gym. It's pretty much standing room only at this point in time, and as soon as they get a few more people comfortably seated, they'll be able to get the commencement underway. People still filing into the door at this point in time, and you know, nothing beats

a good graduation. And I'm sure everybody would have loved to have had this outdoors, where you've had a lot more room and a lot more elbow room. But as it is, we're kind of packed like sardines here in the small gym and they're putting out probably a good twenty or so extra chairs for

extra seating. We have some people who are basically sitting down at the very bottom of the side seating, which is nothing more than just a procrusion, and they'd probably be a little bit easier on their backbones and backsides if they're able to sit down in regular chairs. And that's why they're taking a little bit of extra time to make sure that everyone is comfortable and seated and that

everyone can enjoy the ceremony as short as it will likely be tonight. But like we said, we've got a little bit more rolling in and you are listening to FM ninety nine point one kp GM. I'm Tom Davis and this is the class of twenty three Barnstall High School. We're running just a little bit behind, but we're gonna have the processional here in just a little bit

with the Barnstall High School guitar class. And they're getting ready right now into a position and they're going over some class minute discussion and they're readying their instruments for play in just a moment, and of course once that begins, the ceremony will begin and we'll just turn it over to the ceremony. You can

listen to that pretty pleasure. And of course we're recording this and to be played back in a podcast form a little bit later on, so in case you didn't quite catch a little bit on the radio, or perhaps you want something for posterity for your filled in grandchildren. He's his nephews who are graduating tonight. Then we'll be all ready to go with that and you can keep that. You'll be able to download that from your favorite podcast source. So

Money uses things that when people in the corner are trying to teach you post and then accept with us, be very hole for what you have and shore up for those that matter. Have problem as many memories and you can and now aren't valuatorany goody. They parents, friends, family, teachers, mentors, administration and of course they're

graduating class of twenty twenty three. Today is the day we have all waiting for me, so I know I haven't at least the third grade. Sorry misting, then it's not you to me. There's this foote that my mom used in her soliteratory and speech in nineteen ninety one that still applies today. That are work for him. All I really need to know God in kindergarten, most of them are really need to know about how to live and what you do and how do we I learned in kindergarten these things, These are

the biggs I've learned. Share everything you played for, don't hit people, the things back where you found the clean up your own, don't take things at our doors. Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands in forty week lush, warm hoodies and help builds are good for him. The the badst like learn some things that in drawing, see any dance and play and work every day. So take a nap every afternoon when you go

out into the world, wash up for traffic. The hold again, can stick together, be aware of wonder the world today is not the same as a U sad, but these lessons still rimistry I can experish to include a lessons from high school. The first is to join in to participate. When you join a team for organization theys colligated inline hours, you gat a sticker family. Through team experience, we learn about commitment and hard work and the

driver to succeed even though it might not feel like it. These are crucial stility after graduation. Once you get your job, you'll need to be a To be part of the team leads the will seeds to make to get up every day to go to work, and then saying what it means to belong to something greater than yourself. The second high school lesson is to play nice. I could stand out of here and tell you that my high school experience was the best and I felt and so long, but I'm not because I

feel like some people do when they to hear it. My freshman for junior years wore being a principle's kid doesn't have a lot of hurts. No matter what I did, no matter how hard I worked, someone was always there to tell me down. And in my I mean that any success I had was because my mom was the principle. On top of that, both are just needed ruthless. My junior view was so or if I didn't even want

to attend school and attempt to avoid the viciousness of some people. This last year, I anticipated as much as ideal to get the poor high school experience, and so my advice to my classroom is to just imbrasive. Do not waste your time when people who are leading. Do not that always get you down. It's not key it and it's not working. Do not compare yourself to others just because Just be you, be nice and half fun before it

comes out. I honest say thank you for my coaches for putting them with my footgood it so my teacher's familiar with my outgrown personality, and my friends for all the memories, and last week my favorite, thank you to my mom for showing me how to be the bigger person, to not bataliate down to their level of impaturity, to not just high school drama, but with ron adults too, for supporting all my crazy ideas, my last minute and

late night adventures, and all the nights spent watching Inciatas with you, I went be happy first Ring and data Faction, and I love you for someone so excited to get this over with. I'm pretty good at everyone got you

can also thank my mom. word for a crab. I want you to remind you, said, I want you to remind you, say, Harris said, is it of joy? Do not go out into this world and compare yourself to others. Do not go to others to determine whether or not you are successful. Instead, try to embrace these behaviors that are scientifically linked to success. I'm a little bit of a learn and this is actual research. I'm telling you first having

grown mindset. I know we've been working on that for the past four years, but I promise there is research that proves the importance of having a positive mindset. Growth mindset alters of how your granning perceives sil your Unfortunately, life does not give you every day, not so when you have a setback or a failure, treating himself to see it as an opportunity to throw and to

become better. The set that govor is delayed gratification. In the late nineteen sixties and early nineteen set Standard University the definates an experiment called the marshmallow tests, and they ate children a marshmallow and said you can get it down if you like, but if you wait, I'll you two. Some of the

children ate the marsmallow right away and others waited for the second one. Decades later, they study they analyze these same children and they determined that those they are waited that withheld the allure of the one horsmallow had behaviors necessary to reach goals that require sacrifice, hard work, and patience. And finally, grit grid is the ability to persevere in the pursuit of long term goals despite obstacles

and setbacks. The correlation between gritted performance has been studied since eighteen ninety two. Some researchers believe that grit is a winder driving worse for success than the high que and natural ability. Those who relentlessly pursue what they want have a vigor advantage over those who quit when things are taught. And you can expect

tough seasons in your life as you embark on this stage. Remember these three things have a positive throw of the mindset by believing in yourself and your ability to learn and grower. Don't settle pretty easy, because the greater re order comes through hard work. Have for it and persevere through whatever life throws away.

And now is the time you've all been waiting for. Seezors. Please stand by virtue of the authority, best of the economy as Barnstall Superintendent of Schools, the Barnstall Board of Education, and the States of Art on the Education High at These seniors have satisfactively completed the educational requirements prescribed by the State of Oklahoma, and I didn't confirmed their graduation. Please move your tassel from left to right to signify the completion of these requirements.
