Shortly after President Sindikubwabo delivered a speech in Butare on 19th April 1994, calling on the public to participate in the killings, Interahamwe militia and soldiers proceed with the killing of Tutsis in Butare town. Today’s Kwibuka Podcast episode also gives some insight into how significant major roadblocks were in the death of Tutsis during the Genocide against the Tutsi.
