Episode description

Paul Wolfowitz was confirmed as the new President of the World Bank on March 31, 2005 and will join the Bank on June 1. Terra Verde’s April 29 show will consider predictions of the World Bank’s environmental performance under Wolfowitz. Wolfowitz is known as one of the leading proponents of the Iraq war. This show will be presented in honor of Bay Area activist and humanitarian worker Marla Ruzicka, who lost her life on April 16, 2005 in Iraq. Terra Verde co-hosts Michelle Chan-Fishel and Adrienne Fitch-Frankel first got to know Ruzicka in the mid-1990s, when she was a young intern at the 50 Years is Enough Campaign, an organization that monitors the environmental and human rights performance of the World Bank.
