Episode description

In recent years companies, nonprofits and government agencies have invested time and money to start DEI initiatives. These DEI trainings and other activities often focus on issues of race, gender and sexual orientation, while disability goes unaddressed. Jennifer Chassman Browne In this program, we talk with Jennifer Chassman Browne, a DEI consultant with a disability. Jennifer talks about her work with companies and schools throughout the U.S. and speculates why disability is overlooked in many DEI programs. We will also play audio from a short video produced by the Ford Foundation that features activists talking about the interaction between the disability community and other social justice movements. This program is produced by Jacob Lesner-Buxton. Voiced and edited by Dominick Trevethan.
