Local Roads and Venezuela Oil Investments

Progressive Casualty Insurance Company and Affiliates. Price and coverage match limited by state law. This is 98.7 and 1330 KNSS. I'm Rodney Price. It's 8 o'clock and here's what's happening. While the snow has moved out of Kansas, you'll want to use caution on area roadways. KDOT is reporting wet pavement and some icy spots on the main highways across the metro. You'll need some extra time to scrape the car windshield if you have your vehicle outside as well.

Officially two-tenths of an inch of snow at Eisenhower National Airport here in Wichita, with around an inch and a half in Hutch, 1.8 inches just northeast of McPherson. Some locations in southwest Kansas saw over a foot. And as you can guess, partially to completely snowpacked roads are the norm there. President Trump met with top U.S. oil executives at the White House yesterday as he seeks major investments in Venezuela's energy infrastructure.

Trump hinted that a deal will help here at home in the form of lower prices at the pump. Fox's Madeline Rivera has the details. But while the president envisions oil companies rebuilding Venezuela's energy infrastructure, some executives say there are things that need to be addressed. The head of ExxonMobil says there has to be changes in the country's legal.

and commercial frameworks before they make a long-term investment. They've had their assets seized there twice. That of Conoco also says Venezuela's entire energy system needs to be restructured. And if those changes are made, they... indicate they'd be willing to invest in Venezuela and join Chevron, which is currently the only major U.S. firm operating in the country. The president says there will be government security for U.S. companies.

College Hoops and NFL Playoff Action

In College Hoops, today, K-State travels west to take on Arizona State. Pre-game begins at 1 with tip-off at 2. That's here on KNSS. Following that game, it's Butler Men's Hoops hosting Dodge City. That game begins at 5 here on KNSS. And on KFH, it's a doubleheader of NFL playoff action that starts at 3 o'clock.

The winter storm that dropped anywhere from a half foot to a foot of snow across southwestern Kansas yesterday has moved out of the area where we're going to see high pressure and sunshine in the forecast today. Northwest to west winds 15 to 20 miles an hour and gusty, a high reaching 48. Tonight, clear skies, cold temperatures, a low down at 22. Sunday, more sunshine in the forecast and less wind out of the west to southwest at 5 to 10. A high once again reaching 48.

That's your forecast from Storm Team 12. I'm meteorologist Dean Jones. Right now, a northwest wind at 10, sunny at 27 with a wind chill of 17.
