Casey

well, welcome back to another episode of Cum With KC. Um, we are both really fucking excited about this episode. Oh my goodness. We've been trying to like, keep it under wraps and keep everything contained, and it's been very difficult because we have such an amazing and big name with us today. Actually, we want to welcome in and introduce Silvia. Saige the Sylvia Sage. Sylvia, how you doing

Kari

today? The beautiful, the

Silvia

sexy, Sylvia. Oh my God. So sweet. Thank you so much. I am fantastic. I am also really looking forward to this, uh, show, this interview. So you guys are good friends of a personal friend of mine, so if you come referred, I'm just like, let's do it. Let's be best friends.

Casey

Right. I know that's like, that's like the secret to how we've scored this interview is Yeah. You know, having a mutual. And so hopefully that leads off to other friends that can lead off to other interviews. Yeah. But for right now, we want to focus on the amazing Sylvia Sage here. So Sylvia, if you do not know, is, is a performer in the adult film industry, um, as well as as a step comedian and a business owner, if I'm, if I'm correct. Am I correct

Silvia

in that one? Yes, you are correct. Uh, yeah. So I've been, what most people don't realize is I started with standup. I really like to make that very clear to people. I, uh, grew up in Kansas City, but I left there nine years ago to pursue my dream of becoming a standup comedian, which obviously I still very much do. Um, I'm past at all of the big clubs out here in Los Angeles, which is. Just a big pat on my own shoulder. Yeah, sure. Congratulations on that. Uh, thank you.

Yeah, and then I actually got into adult films as a way to support my comedy career, so that's what a lot of people don't realize. So I like to really

Kari

look at that. Yeah, I was actually kind of wondering that. What, like, which one came first?

Silvia

Yes. I stand up in that. Everyone always thinks that. I was like, oh, I moved out to LA to do porn and then just stumbled into standup and it was kind of the opposite. I kind of stumbled. Stumbled into

Casey

pornography. So you're out doing standup and it was like, you know what? I think I'm also gonna fuck on camera. Let's see how that pans out.

Silvia

Yeah. You know, oddly enough is, is this city, it's, it's very much like, you know, any really big city is, it will chew up and spit you out really quickly. And I had no real idea what I was getting myself into. I didn't know anybody in LA so I didn't, I knew the cost of living was expensive, but I didn't really have the. Idea of what it was and. I had gotten a D U I the exact week I moved to Los Angeles and I'd already signed

Kari

my welcome to la

Silvia

Well, no, I got it in Kansas City. Oh yeah. Got it. So I got it in Kansas City the week I moved, but I had already signed my lease in LA and my, I had no place to live in Kansas City anymore, like my lease was done. So I was like, well, I have to go, even though I had like basically no money. Spent everything trying to keep myself out of jail. Um, so when I got to LA I was like really just struggling to make ends meet. I mean mm-hmm. To the point where I wasn't sure how I was going to pay rent.

I was working two different jobs and I was, I was doing all this stuff. I was working construction company during the day and, um, bartending at night, but I wasn't making enough to survive still. Yeah. I wasn't doing any comedy cuz I didn't have time for it. I was busy working two jobs. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Which was the whole reason I came to la So I was just really, just moved out to LA didn't start busting my ass and doing nothing that had to do with my dream.

Um, that's when my best friend, um, from Kansas City, who is still one of my very good friends. Mm-hmm. Um, I'm now the mother of her godchildren, but she called me up and she said, I'm coming to la I'm gonna work in, uh, porn. Can I stay with you? And I was like, girl, this girl's crazy. She's what? She told me she wanted to work in porn from the day I met her. I met her when she was 18. She was like, or no, she was. 20 when I met her, 19 or 20 when I met her.

But the day I met her, she had told me she wanted to do porn, that she wanted to sleep with me. That she was just like, that was her whole, you know,

Casey

she's, she's

Silvia

like on a mission. She was, she was like, mm-hmm. Very much on a mission. And I was not into women, so I just kind of laughed her off and I was like, mm-hmm. Oh haha. But when she called and said, can I come stay with you? I was like, oh my God, girl, I just need help with rent. Like whatever you come on. I was in the studio apartment, I didn't even have furniture. I was sleeping on a bed of towels. Like I had nothing. And so she came out, I saw her make 10 grand in her first week, uh, in porn.

And I was like, literally while she was out at work shooting, she had left her agent's business card out and I didn't even tell her, but I called him or not called him. I emailed him and was like, Hey. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Help a girl out, like, I need to make this kind of money. And so my very first scene was actually with her, uh, in a Okay gentleman, but yeah. Mm-hmm. So that's how I kind of literally just like fell into it.

And even then I was like, oh, I'll just make like two to four movies a month, because that would be enough to support myself. Mm-hmm. And I could start doing standup full-time. And that's kind of what it was for the first few years. And I was really, really focused on being in a club every night and just making my comedy career happen. Mm-hmm.

But then slowly over the years, comedy and porn, like porn kind of started to trump comedy, and that's where the fame kind of started coming in, and I just mm-hmm. Rolled with it and I was like, well, I'm gonna start doing comedy under this porn name because this porn name is so big, you know? Yeah, sure. Yeah, and that's how we got here. And now I'm now later. I'm still a porn actress and it's amazing.

Casey

You jump a few, you jump a few years later from doing like first scene threesome scene to now here you are being nominated Fortas Awards. I saw that, that you were nominated for what Best All Girls scene as well as Mil of the Year, is that correct?

Silvia

Yeah, mil Performer of the Year. Uh, I've actually been nominated the. Five years now, which is mm-hmm. Crazy huge. Um, and I'm in a category of the most phenomenal, amazing women, and I, they're my friends. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Um, every year one of my friends wins and I am so just like, happy to be in this realm of women because when I, for sure. I remember looking at these women thinking like, oh my God, I will never be them. I'll never be that stature. I'll never be that.

You know, that infamous, and now I'm amongst them. It's crazy to me how far I've actually come, but I feel the same way in comedy. Like I used to look at some of these, you know, stars and I would, I would go to these big comedy clubs and I would be so, aw. And now I'm on the same stages with these people and now you're like,

Kari

you can be shocked by me. Yeah.

Silvia

You know, it's funny now if anytime I'm doing a show, like all of the comics, of course, know what I do for a living. Sure. And so anytime I'm on a show, I am what every comic talks about, you know? So by the time I go up on stage, there is no secret who I am or what I do. You.

Kari

Hi. I'm the one they've been talking about talking about

Silvia

all night. Yeah. That's sweet. So now you've

Casey

heard all this is

Kari

Sylvia. Yeah. Yeah. So actually that kind of brings me to it. What, where did you come up with the name? Um,

Silvia

so I didn't come up with the name. Okay. It was actually my old agent, my very first agent who des des stick with Des Despicable. That was a really hard word to spit out. Despicable words, stupid being. Mm-hmm. Um, but he. He was like, what do you want your name to be? And I was like, I don't know. Cuz literally the story I told you guys was so true. Yeah. I was like, until 24 hours ago, I had never even thought about doing porn. Sure. Mm-hmm. So I had no idea.

So I'm just running through the alphabet, you know, Ashley, Becky, candy, Dan be like going through and finally I get to S and I said, Sylvia. And he was like, that's it. He was like, you look like a Sylvia. And I was like, okay. And then he came up with Sage as the last name. And then he came up with the spelling, which Okay. Kind of fucked me a little bit. Cause it's spelled really differently than Sylvia or Sage would be spelled. Yeah. Mm-hmm. It's with all eyes. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

So it's good now and I've catered it into my comedy and I make jokes about it now and mm-hmm. And I like what it is. It was definitely not my idea. And that same shitty agent bought every single like, Online account of like Sylvia, Sage,

Casey

what? Arick, all web domains. All of it to like own the entire

Silvia

thing. So I have to buy it back from him. Yes. A dick. Such a dick. I found ways around it, obviously, but yeah. Yeah,

Casey

that's, that sounds like, I don't mean to me, I don't know, hearing rumors and everything. It sounds like typical Hollywood agent. Oh yeah. The worst. The worst, yeah. Oh my. Wow. Okay. So then actually question for you, so you, you said that your first scene that you ever filmed was with a close friend of yours and another gentleman? Yes. What was that like? Like on camera? First time you're going in and going, all right, we're just diving into this head first.

Silvia

Well, two things for me. For one, obviously going into an adult, set was New to me. And then secondly, having sex with a woman was so new to me. I had never been with a woman. Um, I had like maybe kissed a woman, but to have a woman lick my vagina or for me to lick of somebody else's vagina was just like a, like mind fuck. Yeah. It's kind of an acquired

Kari

taste at first

Silvia

Acquired. Very much acquired. I will say I'm grateful now for the experiences. Mm-hmm. And I do love my scenes with women now. Mm-hmm. But I was not that in the beginning, so it was all very. Very difficult for me. And it's funny, obviously, um, I still masturbate. I was on PornHub this morning. Sorry guys. I masturbated before I got here. It's the shiny glass I masturbated this morning too.

Kari

It's fine. Oh yeah. We talked about, oh yeah. No, we, no, I masturbated this morning too. We

Casey

often talk about like how the positivity and sex positivity behind masturbation we're huge promoters.

Silvia

Oh yeah. I love that. Okay, so this morning as I'm scrolling through PornHub, I just happened to see one of my very first movies and I was like, oh, I'll click on. I was so, oh no, I watching the scene and I realized as I'm watching it, I was like, they had to dub over. Me moaning because you, you're looking at the scene and it's like, I wasn't even moaning. So they dubbed what moans I did have. Mm-hmm. And dubbed them over where I wasn't doing anything.

And like, I was like, pretty much just dead fish, just letting this person like move me around. And I was like, oh. It was so bad. And, and now obviously I see that it's, it is a performance. It's a, that's what I always tell people. It's a theatrical performance that we do. Mm-hmm. It's not real sex. It's not, I mean, is there a penis in a vagina? Yes. Yes. But is it like, you know, but it's in these crazy positions.

You're opening up to camera, you're, you know, now I'm worried about like my face. You know how often I've said, oh, fuck, or so, you know, I'm, mm-hmm. I'm currently thinking about all these things while I'm making this performance art, you know? So, yeah, in the beginning it was not that, and it was not cute, and it was. Oh, I just wish you could go back and take things off the internet. Unfortunately you can't.

Kari

But you still masturbated to it, right?

Silvia

I did. I actually, there you go. Full circle. If I had that, I was like, oh, I remember having sex with that guy and I really, that guy. So, yeah. Okay.

Kari

There

Casey

you go. See? See that's something that we talk about because both of us, like we share porn together, we send each other porn. Mm-hmm. Like time, you should like go m each of this, go send me a video of you masturbating to this. So we're like super open about all of this, and that's one of the things that we talk about with our clients, with our audience and everybody else is the, the Hollywood production that pornography is.

Yeah. And that it's their, because I'm sitting here talking with Carrie, I'm like, Hey, listen, I'm not gonna be like fucking you from. At like a 45 degree angle over, right? Like that's all camera. That's not for us.

Kari

I'm like, well, he did it. Come on. Yeah, Casey, geez. So that actually kind of goes to one of our main questions is like, what are some of the things that y'all use behind the scenes to create maybe like squirting shots or like come shots, because that's not always exactly what it is. And so I'm really curious like, what do y'all use, what do y'all do?

Silvia

So I, I will say two things. So it's what we use and then what we don't show us using. So, okay. One thing that I hate that porn does not show is we never show someone putting on lube, which is Yeah, maddening because there is so much lube on every porn set, and it's hidden behind a couch. It's hidden behind a chair, it's hidden somewhere. And when we put lube on, they like magically cut away to our faces. So you don't see us needing lubrication. So dumb because everyone needs it.

Yeah. Best Korean horn. Um, but to the opposite point of that, the things that we create, a lot of times we'll use like cephyl. Uh, the face wash, um mm-hmm. To look like, come like if, say the guy has just finished and now they need what they call pop shots. So it's just like photos of the come on you. Mm-hmm.

So they'll like come in with Ceil and pump it on, or if they want it in your mouth and like for you to be oozing, come and there's not an outcome in your mouth, they'll put, um, pina colada. Oh, really? Awesome. Yeah. At least it's flavorful oozes. Yeah. At least. At least it does taste good. Yeah. So it'll kind of like ooze out that creamy like flavor. But there's definitely a lot of things, a lot of like, what about with like

Kari

squirting? Because like some of them I see and I'm like, I'm a fellow squirter, but no fluid comes outta me like that. Like

Silvia

honestly, I think on those squirting. It really is just a matter of like, they wildly over hydrated. Like they will pound really I lights and like specifically like try, I mean at that point, cuz I'm aqui or two with a, a gca, I, I have no control of when aquir is actually going to happen. Just all of a sudden both of us are swimming, you know, like, and I'm like, oops, hey there we're whoopsy. Um, yeah. Clean up. But I think for those things, those girls are intentionally piss.

So they're intentionally saving up so much extra urine because of course we know that's what squirt is, is it's a combination of like and urine. Um, but it's not all urine. And that's what a lot of people think too. But on those scenes, I think it is purposely just urine. Like cuz they're trying like to get that like fluid

Kari

Yeah.

Silvia

Yeah.

Casey

Yeah. That, cause I mean, we see that, yes. Like in our, in our, in our private lives, whenever we're, whenever we're having sex or anything like that and there is squirting involved, there is either a little bit, there can be a lot more. Mm-hmm. But when, then whenever we're watching and we're seeing scenes where people are like, I mean you're talking these huge waterfalls of squirt and everything, we're going. I am curious what they do. I just wonder

Kari

if someone's like in the back angle of like a sh like a squirt gun, you know, one of those like, and then just shooting it out. I

Silvia

mean, I will say obviously I'm not there on those sets, but I don't, yeah, I don't, I think they're actually just really pounding lytes, like that's, there you go. Yeah. So then kind of in pacing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Kari

Huh. You know. So then what are your, some of your favorite scenes to like record or, or be a part.

Silvia

See I am well. I will say I love anal and that's my fa I love anal scenes and I just, I don't think people understand like the pleasure that you truly get in the anus. Cause I think so many people are worried about like, is that like gay? Is that like the dirty thing to do? I'm like, no, it's pleasureful. It's what it

Kari

is. Very um,

Casey

So I don't worry. We're well acquainted. Yeah.

Silvia

Yeah. The only reason I he hesitated on saying that is because I just did some scenes last week and I had this new kid. With this huge, huge dick in my ass and I shit myself for the next like 48 hours because like get my to clothes bag tight to keep anything in there. And I was like, okay, maybe I love anal with a certain size of coffee monster. But no, not my forte in my ass anymore.

Casey

Not this gigantic thing. Up all up in my intestines. Got it.

Silvia

Yeah. I've outgrown that for sure. Yeah. To the point where I was like, it's not worth like losing the elasticity of my asshole, you know?

Kari

Yeah, yeah. For this one experience. Yeah. No, I totally

Silvia

get that. Yeah. Yeah. It was very detrimental, very sad. A few days after that. Yeah.

Casey

So then, I mean, you, you do, you do stay pretty busy, correct? Oh my God, yeah. Yeah. I mean, we, we had just had a conversation that you had had, like, we had to reschedule our interview because you would've been, you had, uh, it was, it was for mil of the month, correct? Yes. Yes. Okay. And, and you were busy filming a number of scenes to kind of promote that and Yes.

Silvia

Uh, yeah, I busy is good for me when I am not busy. That's when I kind of started to spin out mentally and I'm like, I'm not good enough. I'm not doing enough. Like, I think for me, like keep, keep going and like building every day towards the next goal is what I mm-hmm. Truly have to have to keep going. Yeah. Cause when I have a slow, like week, like this past week was not as busy as I'm used to. I will say that. And I found myself in like a depressive, not. Depressed.

Depressed, but just like, what am I doing? How am I not? Working harder, you know, how am I not doing, I'm

Kari

literally the same way. I always say if I get bored, I'm get, I'm in trouble somewhere. Like I need to be busy. I totally, I totally get that. And it does kind of put this like self-reflection. Mm-hmm. But I think that's also healthy because when you get that self-reflection then it kind of motivates you a little bit and then like, and also makes you like appreciate when you are super busy, you know? Yeah, I, I

Silvia

totally get that. And it did make me like light a fire into my ass. I made sure that this week I had. Plans. Plans every week because I think, well, the thing with last week, I was trying to get away from my birthday with the filming and all that. It didn't work out. So then I found myself with a week where I thought I would be in The Bahamas that I had nothing to do. So it was like I would've had something amazing to having nothing.

And I was like, man, now this is sitting around doing Jack all, but yeah. Well,

Casey

Happy birthday. I was about to say

Kari

happy belated birthday. I saw your videos on Instagram. They were so cute. I love that black dress that you had.

Silvia

Thanks. That was for a, a nomination party and I was like, you know, what was it? We get to wear those dresses like one time, so I'm gonna pull 'em out for a second time. Yeah.

Casey

So what did you do to celebrate your birthday?

Silvia

Oh, nothing. I went with some friends some day drinking and um, did some mushrooms and went Yeah, girl. Yeah, the ABB is one of my favorite bars. I, it's a huge gay bar here in Los Angeles. Mm-hmm. And so we just spent the day there tipping drag queens and Yeah. I love that. I, I wound up with, um, one of the stripper's phone numbers. In my phone and I don't remember even having a conversation with her. I remember tipping her and then I woke up the next morning. I was like, why?

I have a text from that stripper? And it's exactly what it was. It was like stripper from Abby. And I was like, I dunno how I got her phone number. I dunno. I'm very friendly while I'm out. I will say that. Yeah. I love

Kari

that. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you have this whole like persona about you, but that's kind of what you have to be and not even have to be, it's nice when it's like organic, right? Like it just seems like you are who you are. A hundred percent. Yeah. And that shows through, um, I really got to see a lot of your stuff on Instagram and kind of following you. I love the way that you answer questions. You're very candid, but you're very real.

And I think that's something that a lot of people can, can honestly appreciate. It kind of takes this like level of you being. On like a higher level, right? You're like this porn star and you're fucking attractive and you're a comedian, but then at the end of the day, you're still a person. Yes. Can you do such a great job of like showing how authentic and real you are? And I think that's really freaking

Silvia

cool. Thank you. I appreciate that. Honestly, I tell everybody, I, I don't know any other way to be. I'm so. To a fault, cuz I, I'm not good at lies. I'm not creative like that, so I just, I give so much of me to everyone and I sometimes think that that's, I'm just such an overshare sometimes I wish, oh my god. Yeah. Uh, I just don't know how I just mm-hmm. I'm just like, here's all my information. I do that on dates also, which is probably why I'm been single for 14 years.

Cause I'm like, do you wanna hear him? About the time I had to go to the, uh, San Asylum. Um,

Kari

let's talk about

Silvia

that. Hear that story date. Uh, yeah. So I overshare, that's what I do, but I am human and I want people. Obviously now I am at a point in my life, whereas I am very successful and I mm-hmm get to live a life that I could not have even dreamt in my dreams when I was a little kid of how blessed I am now. But I wanna remind people it wasn't an easy road. Like my life was not all roses, you know, and ponies like it was a struggle to get here. I have had a past and you know, and I am judged by the.

On such a harsh, um, stage that I feel like I'm constantly in this like defense mode, you know? And I'm like constantly like trying to battle people, like reminding them I'm a human, you know?

Casey

Yeah. Yes. Well, that's one of the things that we're working hard diligently with our work to, to try to change and try to normalize. There's such like this negative stigma around pornography, and we are some of those people that are way very sex positive, where we're like, Hey guys, let's take a look. From a different lens. Mm-hmm. Like, take a look at it from a different perspective. And that's gonna lead us into a, a couple of questions for you actually.

Um, in terms of, I've seen the emergence over the last like, decade or so of, and, and quote like ethical porn, right? Mm-hmm. And so I would like to hear your perspective on how you think the industry has changed over the last number of years in terms of people being more open with things like consent, with things like ethical treatment, equal treatment. Like have you seen a.

Silvia

Hundred and 10%. I have seen a drastic change, and so I've been in since 2014, and when I first got in, it was like the performer had very little power. You know, you showed up and you kind of. I hate to say it because I don't want people to view the industry in such a negative light, but it kind of was when I got in of like, here's what you do and you don't complain. Mm-hmm. And you keep a smile on because if you were to complain, they wouldn't bring you back to shoot again.

And you need that money, you need that paycheck. Yeah. So you need to be working for these companies. So you just kind of grand and bear it. And you know, I. I always say to people, I think someone coming on my face is so disrespectful. I hate it so much. There's many o nights. I went home and cried because I was like, I can't believe I'm, I'm allowing people to treat me like this. But now we don't have to grin and bear it any longer. Yeah, I, any performer does, I think.

There's so much power in our hands thanks to only fans or any other fan sites, stuff like that. Mm-hmm. Is we no longer need the companies, they need us. So now that there are liaisons that are just there for the performers. Mm-hmm. Um, I know myself and most of the big performers, we've all jacked up our rates so high that. I mean, literally when I shot for these people this last month, they were like, you're breaking us to get you here to shoot these scenes.

I was like, I don't care cuz I don't need this money. Yeah. I make, yeah, correct. Bajillions times more than this. Sitting at home fiddling myself, you know? Mm-hmm. So I don't need to come and sleep with this guy who's gonna make me shit my pants for two days, you know? Like, don't believe that,

Kari

you know, so,

Silvia

yeah. Um, but now it's so, so different. Everything is built around us. It is. Mm-hmm. Like we are the star of the show, which is how it should be because we were always, you know. Yeah. Um, but now it is. Um, it was always so much paperwork from day one. I mean, you get there and there is a yes, and there's a no, there's a yes list, a no list, what you're willing to do, what you're not willing to do, but mm-hmm.

Now when you're on set, the director goes through that, everyone stops and the performers are all in the same room, and you go through your yeses and nos together and what you're comfortable with and everyone's comfortable. At any point, you can always stop. I mean, that was at the beginning also. You could always stop at any time. Yeah. For whatever. Um, but it's so drastically you can tell from the moment you walk in mm-hmm. They are trying to impress you and not the other way around. Yeah,

Casey

that's good. The powers in

Silvia

your hands. Yeah. It was complete opposite when I first started. I always felt like I had to just finish the scene so I could get paid as opposed to now I'm like, I will walk out and you will write me a. So now like,

Kari

yeah. So

Silvia

one or two ways we can finish the scene my way or I can walk out with the money you choose. You know, you let me know. Yeah, yeah.

Kari

So then, yeah. So you also have a podcast. Yes. Yeah. Let's talk about that a little bit. Um, what, what is, let's hear about it.

Silvia

So it's a sex education podcast. I've actually had it for six years. I didn't know what the plan was going to be with it in the beginning. I just kind of wanted to talk about sex and the porn industry. Mm-hmm. And I was doing it with my best friend at the time. Um, unfortunately he and I have had some falling outs We don't agree with, uh, Work ethic. I have one. He doesn't. Got it.

Kari

That makes

Silvia

it difficult. Yeah. So, uh, I've replaced him a few times over, but now mm-hmm. I currently have Dr. Eddie who's on the podcast with me. He is a real PhD doctor. Uh, he does. Uh, teach. I can't say where he teaches cuz that can get him fired. Um, no, that's fair. But he is very gracious to be on our show and now we have like actual facts with everything and I bring on and under comedian and or porn star, just depending on the month. Um mm-hmm. Friends of mine usually.

Um, that we come on and we share set stories, and we share our open sex stories. I ask all the dumb questions because I am dumb. I, I don't ever think I'm the smartest person in the room and I'm learning stuff on the show every day. I'm asking, sure. I mean, I just learned I'm taking my antibiotics wrong. So, uh, like I, I'm constantly learning information from him and that's what's so great is he's there to fact check me now.

As before, it was just kind of like me running off of the mouth with my own personal knowledge, but now with him it's like,

Kari

That's not correct. No, that wasn't entirely correct. Right. I really feel like that's our dynamic right now. Cause he's the doctor and I'm the asshole that just like blurt shit out, you know? Yeah. And he'll be like, and then like later he'll be like, Carrie, that was not right.

Silvia

I'm like, oh well my best. But I love being told when I'm wrong. Obviously same. Hate it when I was younger, but now I'm like, educate me cuz I don't want seriously. Stupid to other people. You know, I love harder criticism one-on-one than be made a fool in front of a larger crowd, you

Casey

know? Yeah, right. So that's awesome. What's, what is the name of your podcast?

Silvia

It's called sexy, funny, raw, and it's on sexy, all, sexy, funny, raw.

Casey

Yeah, I've seen, I mean, y'all have, y'all. The podcast looks great, first of all, like I was scrolling through your Instagram page and I was like, damn, this podcast looks, the production value's awesome. The way that, that y'all put things together, the conversations that y'all have, it sounds like y'all have, y'all created something pretty kickass. Thank

Silvia

you. Yeah, we're struggling a little bit with, uh, views right now. I lost an old editor, so I gotta kind of figure that out. But once we get that rolling, We're back in business, so, yeah. Yeah.

Kari

So, so then let's talk a little bit more about your standup though, because I mean, obviously you're an amazing porn star, but I wanna hear about your comedy. Standup is, has been a huge passion of mine. I'm fucking hilarious, but I am scared. And tell me, where do you even begin? You know, and so I just, I wanna hear a little bit about your standup and may like how, or do you like, share a lot of your like.

Pornography work o on stage or, or do you, do you let that kind of be part of your character or, I mean, what do you base your comedy on?

Silvia

Yeah, so my comedy's based on my life, so I do talk about the porn industry. What I, I kind of take people on a ride of like who I am, so I kind of let them know, you know, I. I worked in the medical field for nine years before I got into adult. You know, I have a college degree, so I kind of walked them through like how I went from working in hospitals to working in pornography, you know. Sure. And, and the differences and kind of what I've learned. Um, but yeah, standup.

Is to this day, the hardest thing I've ever done in life. Mm-hmm. Every time I do a show I'm like, I'm gonna throw up right before, come on. Um, but those nerves kind of dissipate and then I kind of wanna kill myself for like two days, um, after I do any show. But other than that, it's. The biggest thrill I've ever gotten. Mm-hmm. The adrenaline rush from it. I can't sleep for hours after a show. Yeah. Cause I'm just so pumped up with energy, you know? And, um, yeah. I love it.

More than anything, I will never stop pursuing comedy, I don't think. I don't know if I'll ever be a huge comedian. I'd like to think I will, but even if I am just doing, uh, City Circuit tours for the rest of my life. Yeah. I would be so happy. It's so fun. So

Kari

what's the one of the biggest places that you've played at

Silvia

or played a regular, I'm a paid regular at the Laugh Factory here in Los Angeles. Oh, really? Is a huge deal in

Casey

comedy. Laugh. Yeah. That's a, that's a very big

Silvia

deal. Years for people to get approved. Yeah. Yeah. Um, so that is my huge, my huge accomplishment. I obviously played the Comedy Store here in Los Angeles a lot, which is a huge world. Mm-hmm. Comedy place? Yes. Um, I've done plenty of shows in New York at like the Broadway Comedy Club, you know Gotham? Mm-hmm. Like these, uh, the stand, these big, huge clubs like. I don't know. It's just, that's cool. I always thought, oh, I wanna be a comedian, but I never thought I was funny.

So it's funny that you say that. You think it's funny cause I never thought I was funny. I, if I had to work so hard at writing jokes, I write every single day of my life. Yeah. Um, I'm constantly critiquing and changing and I've never done the same show twice ever in life. Really? That's impressive. I think it's really difficult when. Comics cuz I have, you know, when you get a lot of places will like send me your set. I'm like, send you my set. I'm like, I dunno what's gonna come outta my

Kari

mouth.

Silvia

I've got an idea like I've got. Mm-hmm. You know, like things I like to talk about and jokes that I've written. But I have no idea what order they will come out in. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I read the crowd, I've listened to the audience, and, and like I said, normally I am the butt of all of the jokes before I get on stage, because I'm sure usually a feature or a headliner comic, so I'm one of the last mm-hmm. Comics to go on stage. Mm-hmm.

So by that time, everyone's already heard all about me, so I'm like, I can't come in with the material. Whatever I thought I was gonna do cannot happen because I have to address, All of the other things that have been said. So yeah, I'm not, yeah, no show is ever the same. You'll never see, you might hear the same jokes every once in a while. Mm-hmm. But they won't mean the same order.

Kari

Yeah. So then you must be really good at improv then and like thinking on your toes, cuz that's not easy.

Silvia

Yes and no. Also, while I'm doing it, like as I'm speaking, my brain is going, where are you gonna go next? Where are you gonna go? You already, yes. That's so relatable.

Kari

You know?

Silvia

So I'm talking while freaking out at the same time in the back of my brain, my pits are sweating, you know? And I'm like, have you talked about this? No one knows, cuz you don't know what you've said so far.

Kari

You know, I don't know how many censuses. Start with having no clue how it's gonna end. All of the time. All the time, all

Silvia

the time through the conversation, I'm like, I don't know why, why I was saying this to you. I don't literally just lost it. I lost myself in the conversation.

Kari

May. I glad you live in la. I feel like we'd be best friends. Yeah,

Silvia

we probably would.

Kari

I'm like, you're literally saying everything that's relatable to me. I totally get that.

Silvia

If we're both friends with Beck, like we would be friends. Do you guys know that? I've known Becky since elementary school. Like her mom was my third grade teacher. I'm so gracious. Yes, and we are. Oh, I. Best, uh, best use.

Casey

I got to hear. I, I've, I've known her since like 2017. Yes. Okay. I think, and so I, I got to hear, I remember like even finding out that y'all were friends, cuz I didn't know who you were before Becky let me know. Mm-hmm. And we were, I remember we were sitting out one night, we were just having like conversation. It was a happy hour or something like that.

And I don't know where the conversation came from, but she was like, By the way, I have a very close friend of mine who's a porn star, and so naturally people at table perk up. Yeah. Like, wait a minute, tell me more. Go on.

Silvia

So yes, Casey, Becky, and you're like, you're not friends with a porn star. And she's like, no. When

Kari

Casey said that, and I was like, Beck, Becky. Like Becky, he was like, yes, Becky. I'm like, no, be okay. Yeah, okay, cool. No, I didn't realize that.

Silvia

And what's so funny is she's one of my most supportive friends. Like, it's so funny. Oh, I love that.

Kari

I can see that though. She, she's like genuinely like interested in what you have to say. No matter what you're talking about. And then just super sweet. Like I, I love

Silvia

Becky. I love her too. Can we do the show about Becky? Cuz I love her, right? I

Casey

really, we bring her on. I'm sure she would love to be on camera. Yeah, right on. On a sex podcast and talk about all this.

Silvia

Yeah, my, uh, yeah, that, not her, not her worde, but I don't know, you get a few drinks in her and she will have all of these conversations just noted.

Kari

That's literally

Casey

noted. Got it. So then, alright, so on onward with, with our question, you have led this fucking fantastic career thus far. Um, you, you have done, I mean, everything from the standup comedy to, to your porn career, to your business, ev like you. At the top of your game is what it looks like. Yeah. So what's

Silvia

next feels like? Um, so there's a lot. Next, I'm actually about up to, um, produce my very first comedy special. Um, so I'll be releasing that. Um, I'm gonna release 30. Congratulations. Thank you. I'm gonna release 30 minutes on only fans behind a paywall, and then in another six months I'll release another 30 minutes that I'll put on YouTube. I'm also, I've written a series about my life.

Uh, so we're, um, in the final stages, uh, before we start pitching that to like, um, HBO O, Netflix, things like that. So, um, I think I'm definitely moving away from the, um, Shooting scenes for other people in porn. Mm-hmm. I'll still work for big companies, but kind of just doing my own thing and, and really making comedy more of a priority. Now that my, my finances are intact, I don't mm-hmm. I have no money worries any longer.

So, uh, that was my main thing for so long, which is stack money, stack money, staff money. And now that I'm there, I'm like, now I can make comedy a priority because, Wasn't, I was so worried about housing myself and feeding myself for so many years. So yeah, now it's, uh, focusing everything on comedy and hopefully trying to slip into like more of the mainstream world while still doing my second education.

I would like to be, my personification of what Sylvia Sage will be in the future is like an Ellen DeGeneres. What Ellen did for being. I would like to do for sexuality and like women being sexual in general. Yes. You know, we

Kari

need that so bad. I feel, oh my God, we need

Silvia

that. I feel like before Ellen being gay was so taboo, you know? Mm-hmm. She was the first person to have a, a lesbian kiss on television. Yep. And I know like a lot of people are like, oh, she's not a good person. We don't know who she is as a person. And I can't imagine being that wildly famous for that many years, you know? I cannot put myself in her shoes, but what she did for the gay community was so huge, and I would love to be the person who does that for female sexuality. You know?

Yes. See, that's fucking

Casey

awesome. That is, that is very similar to the mission that we're on, to normalize a lot of these conversations, remove a lot of the shame from sexuality and bring it into like this just open, accepting world. It's one of the reasons why we talk. Extensively on relationship styles. Mm-hmm. You know, we've, we've had this, this society over, over many, many years that has been put into a box, you must be monogamous. You must find your one true love.

You must Yep. Like your sexuality remains in a closet and you are, you're, it's just suppressed and you should be modest.

Silvia

And yeah. And if that one person doesn't work out well, Failed. You know? Yeah. Like, what are we

Casey

talking about? Like we're, we're creating mental illness by pushing all of these people into this small box. And so that's, it is similar to what we're trying to do, is we're trying to open up the world to sexuality. It's, yeah. I mean, we have a ton of episodes that we've done on relationship styles outside of, uh, monogamy. We talk about ethical non-monogamy. Mm. Often. Yeah. Yeah. On our stuff, we talk about our relationship style.

We talk about, like, we had an episode where we went that we had gone to a sex party, that we did an entire episode on that. Yeah. We, we've done a ton of stuff, which actually leads into another question that we're gonna have. Yeah. Um, because I know that we're, we're sitting getting closer. We're getting closer. But, um, so in, in your experie. Inside and outside the industry, maybe it's just LA as a whole. What sort of, uh, relationship styles do y'all typically experience out there? Mm-hmm.

Is it, are you, is there a lot of stuff where it's like, oh no, most of the industry is monogamous? Or are you, your friends, everybody around you experimenting it with a bunch of different styles?

Silvia

Um, that's a very interesting question. So, My core group of friends is comedians and porn people. Mm-hmm. So that's what I hang out with, which I don't really consider to be like a, a normal group of humans. Um, so I will say the people that I know that are in relationships are in porn. My porn friends are the only ones that are in relationships and of course, Isn't really a monogamy type of situation because Yeah. One of them is obviously having sex with a lot of people.

I'm thinking of, uh, Cher Deville and, and her partner in particular, they've been together for like 11 years. Wow. Um, he does not have sex outside of their relationship. Obviously she does because she's a porn actress, but everything that she does is, is work-based, you know, so they still still have that like monogamy, but, Other couples that I'm thinking also kind of have some open ones. But these are again, porn people.

So it's difficult when you're in porn because your job is to have sex with other people. So yeah, it's very hard for peop is someone in the relationship with them to not go like, well, can I not have sex with somebody then, you know? So, yeah. It's just

Casey

such a, it's that separation of like work and your relationship.

Silvia

Yeah, but it's weird because now that I've been in porn and now that I, I I've seen kind of the, I hate to say it, but the hidden world of sex that exist yeah. Um, Seeing what I've seen, I don't know that monogamy should be something everyone's strive for. I think you can have a happy. Healthy relationship open, as long as the communication is there. Communication is so key with everything in any purpose. Everything.

Kari

Yeah. It's so crazy. Yes. That's like the biggest thing we talk about is how important communication is through

Casey

anything. Our entire, like part of our entire show is based around the core principles of comfort, communication, and consent. Yeah. Like we talk about that shit all the fucking time. And so to

Kari

A Three Cs, I try to make it four Cs and use Cunty, but he won't let me. He's like, no, it's three Cs. I'm like,

Silvia

fine. As long as everybody knows what's going on and everyone has like, sure consented, you know, to what's s going on. I think it can be amazing to bring other people in, because let's be honest, I mean, my longest term relationship, I've had two five year relationships. And the sex gets stale. It just does. Yeah. It doesn't mean that you love the person any less. It just things happen. So why wouldn't you wanna try and spice it up? As long as it, consenting wise, they were okay with it.

Mm-hmm. You know? Yeah. I think to myself, In the future, if I were to be in a relationship, I would hope they would be okay with a open relationship. I'd kinda like to watch them fuck somebody young and hot, you know? Mm-hmm. And I'd kinda love if they would watch me get fucked by somebody, you know? Like, yeah.

And then spice up and bring it back together like, Knowing what I know now and seeing the things that I've seen going to these sex parties, being involved in orgies and being involved in the sex scene and the, the wealth culture that is sex, especially in Los Angeles. Like I've seen some shit. And there's so much more to do than boring vanilla sex between a husband and wife, you know? Mm-hmm.

Casey

Yes. Trust me, that's, that's where like our relationship, we've been together for going on almost 15 years. Almost 15 years, and we didn't start opening up our relationship until around like the. Eighth year or so of being in mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And with like, that road has been this whole opening world of communication, consent, setting boundaries, dealing with all sorts of emotions that go with doing that kind of thing.

And our honest opinion, I, I think I speak for both of us in this, is that it's been a fucking amazing fucking vibe. Experience.

Kari

Yeah. It's so sexy. Like the, the

Silvia

thing, it made your relationship stronger, did it not? Yes. Oh

Kari

my God. A hundred percent stronger. We have never been more connected now mm-hmm. Than in the 15 years of our relationship. And that's because we've been so open about sex. Yep. We've been so open about what we want and communicating that, and it's just, It's exciting, you know, it's something exciting.

Silvia

I love that for you guys and I hope I find that like, honestly, I think mm-hmm Those conversations are just so hard to have and that's what we talk about on my show as well is like how you start those conversations. Mm-hmm. You know, cuz you know I am, and you guys are obviously very sexually open and fluid and you have confidence in talking about those things, but. So many people in this world that are not comfortable with those conversations, you know?

Yes. So we always talk about how you initiate those things and Yeah. Mm-hmm. We always say to write notes, start by like mm-hmm. Writing notes, you know, maybe like love notes of like, things you'd like to try or stuff like that. Mm-hmm. You know? So, um, I just, I think that's incredible. I wish more people. This podcast is huge for you guys, and I hope that you get a lot more people, like at least thinking Sure. Along those lines, thinking that maybe you could try something one day.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And a lot of people don't know. A lot of these sex clubs you can go to and just be an observer. You don't have to join any day one, so you can kind of see what's out there and like. Mm-hmm. You know, take it in. And I almost recommend

Kari

that, truthfully. Yeah. Like you don't learn how to swim and jump in the deep end, like Right. Get your feet wet a little bit. Explore, see what you might like and what you won't like. And you, the thing is, is you're never gonna know until you try it. Yeah. Yes. One of our.

Casey

Go ahead. Yeah. Oh, I appre I appreciate that. One of the, one of the biggest pieces of advices we have, cuz we run into a lot of couples who have been together for a long time and don't know how to approach the conversation, or if they do feel like they're going to approach the conversation of fantasy and kink, that they're going to be judged for it. Yeah. So we always tell people that there's, I mean, there's apps out there, right? Like X Confessions came out with their own app.

And, uh, there was a, another one think called Spicer, where it's like a Tinder profile almost between you and your partner, but you're swiping for, you're swiping for sex acts. That's cool. As opposed to swiping for people. So it's like, I would like to, you know, do porn sports. Got it. Penal There would be like threesomes. There would be an an orgy. There would be. And

Kari

then when y'all post swipe. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. And so when you both swipe left as an act that you want, it'll notify the partner and. She wants to be peed on, you know? Yeah. And, and,

Silvia

and you're like, weird. I wanna pee on someone. Perfect water play. I think that's great. That's great. Everyone needs those apps. Can we just randomly drop those to people's phones? Like you airdrop photos is your airdrop

Kari

on, on your, you need this? I promise you. You need this. Try to share something. You need this.

Silvia

Well, isn't that app really aggressive, angry people? I'm like, you need to get like, yeah, you need to come, you need to look at this. Yeah. Maybe like

Kari

send them one of your videos and be like, you, you'd need this just for a second.

Silvia

Just take it. Take it home. Think about it. You're

Casey

welcome. Oh my gosh. Well, we, we are running outta time here. Um, Sylvia, holy shit, you've been an amazing guest for the podcast today. We super appreciate everything that you do, your work inside and outside of the, of the adult film industry. Mm-hmm. Um, we look forward to hopefully chatting with you again in the future, um, finding a way to make that happen.

Silvia

That'd be great. Yeah, it was

Kari

So if, if, yeah, so if people are trying to find you, um, is like all of your stuff, Sylvia, Sage? Yeah, no, I mean I guess I'm wondering like if they wanna find your only fans, if they wanna find like, is everything under that, under that name?

Silvia

So everything is, yes. There is like a, if you go to my Instagram, which is the Sylvia Sage, there's a landing page there and that will like connect you to everything. But again, you can just be perfect. Sylvia Sage or look sex up, sexy, funny, raw. So. Okay. Or you Google like porn star comedian. I'm your girl there. It's, it's a

Casey

very easy, unique

Kari

title. Yeah. That, that should be the title of the episode. Yeah. Porn star comedian. There you go.

Casey

Awesome. Well, for another episode of Come With kc, I'm Dr. Casey Sanders. And I'm Carrie Sanders. Thanks.
