16 - The Running Man (1987)

Remember last week when we were like, "We'll have one of two exciting guests?" We got one, and recorded with him not long before this episode dropped. When we went to edit the file, we found it had been all jacked up by computer violence far beyond our comprehension, and at that point it was too short notice to try to book our other exciting guest (who will still be joining us for another episode). But you'll hear all about it in gratuitous detail. We're also talking about THE RUNNING MAN (1987), our first story by Stephen King under his pseudonym, Richard Bachmann. This screenplay was written by '80s action master Stephen DeSouza (of DIE HARD and COMMANDO fame) and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Richard Dawson, with feature parts from Jesse Ventura, Mick Fleetwood, and Dweezil Zappa. We love this movie, even if our hearts are broken, although we're kind of excited that we now have a "lost episode."
