Episode description

Saul Griffith is an engineer and entrepreneur specialising in clean and renewable energy technologies and is the author of 3 books including `Electrify', and `The Big Switch'. Saul is the founder of Rewiring America and Rewiring Australia, non-partisan organisations dedicated to electrification and decarbonisation and the associated policy and regulatory implications of meeting our climate goals. Saul was also instrumental in establishing Electrify 2515 which is a community based pilot project in Thirroul NSW aiming to get 500 households completely onto renewable electricity in order to see how this operates on a large scale.

This session of Politics in the Pub was organised by Kate Dezarnaulds during the 2025 federal election campaign so some of the references are out of date, but the topic is still completely relevant. Saul Griffith was introduced by Kate Dezarnaulds who was running in the election as an independent candidate.

Recorded 8 April 2025 at the Grand Hotel, Kiama.
