Alrighty Born and everybody, and welcome Cacy Okay Radio program here on your Tuesday. Oh boy, all right coming up on the show. Oh by the way, Roster, so you ere the one brought it up yesterday. So the that Spider Man murdered escape dude. Did you see the latest update on him? Not? Okay? So for there's there's a there's a murder suspect. They're looking for this dude escape prison up in was he Inpact? I
think it was in Pennsylvania? Was the prison? But like but like he did the he did the thing like you had to do and uh in where like the prison Bain escapes where you have to like do a gymnastic feat to get out of there or something. And it's just it's pretty crazy, man.
Yeah. The video of like the guy like you know, a little look out just standing there and then he's over in this little cubby and he puts his hands straight up against the wall and then he props his legs up and he walks up right with his legs and like he just goes right over the gate. What's what's the park hour or whatever? Is that the thing where they're doing all the stupid jumping and gymnastic stuff and like urban settings. I think they tried to make a movie out of it and realize that nobody
really even knows what it is or cares. All right, well, I'm not resetting that. So yeah, yeah, so a little mix of a little mix of that. So apparently he broke into some homeowner's house still a rifle and I did they like they do like somebody like got a shot off at him or something they hit him. I'm seeing two different reports. You're hang on, I want to make sure I have the very uh latiste on
this. Whoop. That's then they went on the wrong one. All right, dud do you Yeah, So like they're trying to figure out if dude got got himself shot while attempting to get it right here we go. Okay, so no, no, it doesn't look like it doesn't look like they were able to but they think he did get a rifle during the robbery. So he's still running around doing his thing. Wait, so now he is a gun? Yes, m So it's like it's like a John Rambo McLean
thing. Now now he is a gun. Yeah, and I understand he did not undergo a background check completely is it even possible, I guess, so, yeah, And I'm pretty sure that he was aware of the laws surrounding that, right, because they, like, you know, part of what you're getting convicted of a felony like that is they're going to inform you about some stuff you're not allowed to do even if you get out right, you know, like here's the process if you ever want to vote again,
can't on firearms, a few other restrictions, like they kind of made him aware of that, and uh it's I'm getting the sense like he didn't care. So uh yeah, So that story just gets more and more interesting, especially if you're living in the area there residents warned to stay inside yep PA that Pennsylvania's got a pretty decent amount of gun ownership, even though they've they've tried to draw that back. So I think there's probably some folks are like,
oh, let him try to break you into my house. So I know, we'll see, We'll see how it goes. Don't worry everyone, I've got the naked Virginia candidates story. Okay, I got it. It's interesting how many of you are interested in that story this morning. Ros you know how that is, like sometimes there's just a story. It's not even necessarily like the top story. But like a lot of people suggested, right, he just grabs everyone's attention because there's because people are very invested in Virginia
state politics. You're on the show, right, I mean, we got some listeners over in Virginia. So like, so, yes, I have that story that has that has grabbed your attention. And it was in prep right from the Dilly Wire article. Yes, I did put it. I felt dirty reading it, like I felt like I was reading erotica. Did you never think it would happen to you? I never did. I'm like, wow, but but okay, I almost don't want to ruin it.
I first of all, I called this. I called this, I said that said, and Alex, I'll I will, I will remind you that being said. You know, fundraising is a thing, right not it's not you gotta run for office. You gotta raise the money. That's part of
the grind, man. You gotta go raise a lot of it. You talk to anyone, especially people you know that at first at first election around, especially when you get into you know, not necessarily local dog catcher, no disrespect to the dog catchers, but once you get into where you gotta
raise a lot of money. And with the tooth and nail fight going on up in Virginia for control up there after Democrats were shell shocked with young Ken and the lieutenant governor and everything that happened up there, there's a lot outside money gonna be coming in those races too, So fundraising is important. How are you fundraise? Sometimes it's a little different, So yes, we will. I have that story you did. The only person who didn't send it
to me that I was shocked was Boston Paul. I just I figured that was one of those that would cross his Twitter feed or whatever, but everybody else did. And yes, I have it, Okay, all right? Rock on. Also, speaking of politicians coming up, Ted Budd Senator Bud will join us at eight o five. Got lots to get into, like why we decided on nine to eleven to dude, do they not have anyone
who does good deals up there in this administration? Right? And and and I I feel like to some extent it's almost and I don't want to just do a party thing, but it's kind of a party thing, right because you go back under Barack Obama and what did we do. We're like, all right, they're like, what do you what do you give us for one trader? And they're like, ah, I don't know. How about
how about five terrorists? They're sixth terror however, I haven't any we gave him from Guantanamo about people who want to eradicate our lifestyle and murder as many Westerners as possible. How about we trade you that for one uh one uh one trader or one uh one guy went awall And of course they're like sold American, no pun intended, right. And then we had the with arguably the Afghanistan withdraw where they're like, all right, we're gonna leave now you
want all of our stuff. We're gonna give you all our stuff. And even as they're leaving with an amazing deal, they're like yeah and uh and we're going to attack you and continue to put us casualties into the mix. There. Then, of course we have a w NBA player who's got a little her her thhc vate pen and Russia sees an opportunity there and is able to get what was a lord of war, right, lord of war. And by the way, Russia is now trying to get Putin's hit man,
as the dude's known his top hit man. Obviously he's got others, and I think they want to trade for a Wall Street Journal reporter. All right, So all of that's looming, and then yesterday nine to eleven, we get the announcement that the Biden administration has put other deal with Iran. You remember Iran, who we just did another deal with and gave a bunch of cash. And then of course, who remember when they captured one of our US military boats just for something to do, and we we we gave him
stuff at that point too. Well, now the Biden administration says they have cleared the way for the release of five American citizens detained and Iran h and as part of the deal, we will release five Iranian let's see, five Iranian citizens being held by the US. I don't have a Oh now, people, I've never said anytime. I'm just calling yall purvs purves. But I put in the prep two, so I guess I'm a purf two.
So whatever. All right? Yeah, but okay, so five Americans, five Iranians, and we're gonna get We're gonna release six billion dollars in Iranian assets. We have frozen, which will totally just go for food and stuff. I'm sure again you know that sounds like that sounds like all the Vikings deals from the last two years, and we're the Vikings in this. So five for five plus they get six billion dollars. Who's negotiating this stuff?
Who is who's sitting there and can't go okay, five for five? At least with Russia, we had to get into we had to like discuss the merits of the individuals, Like is a w NBA player versus a lord of war who had remarkably different sentencing, right, you have to take that into account, Like is is that a good trade? Here? They're like, all right, we got five for five and you get six billion dollars. We're horrible. I almost want to start my own country and then just do
deals with this administration. You know, much money you could make be amazing. But that's what we're doing. And we're gonna talk to Ted Butt about that for sure. So and we got a bunch of other stuff too, So that'll be eight h five. All right, Let's see here, we got Fayetteville. People in matt and Fayetteville because they want to have a a curfew for the kids, which you know that there A lot of towns have those, A lot of cities have those. I guess I just assumed Fayettville
did. Apparently they do not, But I don't understand considering some of the problems, some of the challenges that the city faces with violence, and yes, with youth violence, as well as just maybe you don't want kids around when all the other stuff's going on. White people are freaking out, and ross looks like hollow decks are gonna be a thing. So yeah, you gotta be pumped over that, right, you're a big fan of the holiday.
I think Dennis Miller said a long time ago. They're like, if they could perfect that technology, it would be our downfall because he'd never leave the house. But isn't your space game doing that to you? Anyway? It is? I played Lesson from eight thirty to twelve thirty. It's one of these games where I'm like, and this hasn't happening so long, we'll I'm just gonna play for ten twenty minutes. Your wife said its search parties, right, and then before you know what, You're like, what do
you mean? My kids out of high school? You know, well, time flies, man, let's just move so fast. Well if you if you play it long enough, eventually the hollow decks will be here apparently. So anyway, well we're gonna bounce around. We've got lots of stuff to get into. So stick around six twenty hang on the show. After the show's on the iHeart Radio app. Search case O day for the podcast on the iHeart Radio app. All right, Ross is sending me screen shot for
this game. He's been too, So what happened? You went? You went? You went to the moon or something. I was in a random root and I found a book and it gave me some coordinates and to put the coordinates and it brings me to the Apollo moon landing site. So you know, you went to a sound stage in New Mexico. No, No, the actual moon in in this universe. In the game, the moon is real. Oh okay, sorry, No, we have to make that
distinction obviously, because you know it doesn't take place of this universe. Otherwise you'd be correct, did you. I don't see the moon fan here? I might really confused, you know, But as serious though, because if I A lot of these are thought exercises like that thing you were telling me yesterday, where there's there's a certain uh, there's a certain there's a there's
an intellect to putting together. So basically, you had a bunch of people decided they were ditching Earth, but they did so at a time when they didn't have warp drive, right, correct me if I screw this up. And but they're they're headed off to this planet. We think it's gonna be good to go, but it takes them like generations, like four hundred years to get there. The problem is, while they're in their little old school tug boat do a normal space speed, technology advances back on Earth with warp
drive. So the next group of settlers is able to get to the planet in like a hot minute. And so by the time the old school tech tugboat shows up, their minds are blown because the planet that they thought they were going to be the first people to populate, it's like it's already colonized. Yeah, it's all colonized. And so like, that's clever man. There's so many little bits and pieces where I feel like I'm watching or participating
in an Old the Next Generation episode. I love it. Look they have writers for these for video games and stuff like that you have to as intricate as they are, and it's like, how is it this video game from Bethesda, which if you're into gaming, there's certain issues that pop in your mind with that particular developer, like the storyline and and all of the little the little nuggets there seem to far exceed a lot of the crap that Hollywood's
churning out. Have you got? Is there any woke stuff in there yet? I mean, I know people were over the pronouns were kind of right. The only thing that I've experienced is there's like a in the character creation menu they ask your pronouns and that's it takes ten seconds. And I haven't encountered I've probably put over twenty hours, which is nothing with this game into
it. At this point, you have people that have put in like one hundred and twenty two hundred hours and you still haven't cracked the surface of this game. But I haven't run into anything that I'd be like, oh, what is this about her? There's nothing that I can find a complaint about so far when it comes to the woke stuff, I haven't run into anything. So if I had to do that, you know, I had to
think it out thing too. The only thing I would say is, you know, right now we're currently talking about how space exploration is going to require us to put facilities and infrastructure on the moon right or near the moon for the because of once you get stuff up there, you gotta refuel and do all that. And I don't see any of that in the photo, which would be logical. But it is very, very far in the future.
So maybe meth heads took it and sold it. I don't know, man, you're day smarter one six one at them talk and News TALKTI more where the KC starts. Now, all right, welcome back to thirty five year on the Cacokay Radio program. So I guess if you're a Jets fan, you guys still trying to figure out what you did to irritate God. Man, dude, I don't know. They seem to do okay. Well, I mean technically they won, right, but did they really? Yeah?
So if I guess if you if you don't know, yesterday the first of many this is, by the way, this is the thing that has NFL worried. Right here, the first of many many prime time NFL appearances. The schedule for this year for the Jets, I think they have the most right because the NFL was banking on this, uh, this perennial loser for
many years. With the addition of like Sauce Gardner, I heard they signed a decent running back and then bringing Aaron Rodgers over, among other things, and there's a few other pieces that the team would be much improved and could even find themselves making a playoff run. Which look, when you start looking at the pieces that they brought in, is it was one hundred percent possible.
And in the first drive, after he had one unsuccessful pass attempt, Aaron Rodgers went down and immediately as a carting him off on the stretcher. People are people are worried, and the X ray has come back clear, which actually then gets some more worried because until you get an MRI, with the type of injury and the pain that he was in and everything going on,
you're looking at one of two things. High ankle sprain, which ain't good, especially for a quarterback or anybody for that matter, but especially for a quarterback because it's a It keeps you out for a while, but it also lingers if you try to rush it back and then the worst, the worst way that that injury is diagnosed would be achilles, and they were already saying that that's what they think it is, and that means he's done for the season. So Zach will do you see the shot of the coach's face
when he had to sub Zach Wilson in there. He he looked like he just got like somebody just handed him some news that like his family had been in a car accident or something. I saw because I was sitting there playing money a game Starfield love it, and everybody starts sending me, you know stuff about the Aaron Rodgers news, and my immediate thought was, we're going to lose the game now, well, because it has one of two things
it right. It can it could sap the Jets or it could motivate other good players, which is a mindset that a lot of people that play at the highest levels in sports have that. All Right, I'm gonna need you know, I'm gonna add an extra ten percent everything that I'm doing plus plus the bills are gonna bills and uh, but also the Jets are gonna Jets. And you know, if Josh Allen didn't play like garbage they probably would have won, but he played late trash and that's what did you have Allen
in? I'm not sure because I was playing my game. But listen, they lost. They lost to the Jets last year. That was one of their losses because they lost three games. That was one of them. And they have what were the other ones? Do you remember any of the Miami and I can't remember the third one? You sure? I can't remember? It's Minnesota. I honestly had forgotten. Oh okay, I thought you were just yeah, no, no, no, completely forgot. Yeah. Yeah, those are the three. Yeah. Yeah. And the Jets have a
great defense. They have no line. Apparently the Bills have the same problem, and uh yeah, I think like Week one is a liar. I'm not concerned. I'm really not. I I watched zero minutes for the game.
I don't know I was I was going to, but I like, I got prep done and all that and was sitting there and then you sent it back and I was at eating some dinner and I'm like, I'm gonna just I think I'm gonna go in my bedroom and just flip on something on the TV or whatever, and I dude, I was out, like twenty minutes. I don't know what happened, but I would have It was right before the game would have started, So, I mean, I got a bunch of sleep, but I didn't see any of the game. And I
wake up this morm. Let me go check the score, and it's just Aaron Rodgers died, right, just all the headlines obviously. But that's the other thing. I'm like, well, you know, listen, if if I have to choose between a loss or our quarterback blowing out as Achilles, I'm gonna take the loss. It was interesting too, Yeah, oh, I mean that's obvious. That's obvious because you know, ultimately, yeah,
he didn't he didn't play well. But Josh Allen is still a good player, right, so he said one game every year man where he just can't play football, and I think it's anxiety. So hopefully that's out of his system now. And pissed off Josh Allen is not a friendly, like you don't want to play angry Josh. So I'm who they're playing next week, but good luck, okay, all right, And even if they go, oh and what is it seventeen now, yes, oh it's seventeen, they're
still my team. I don't care. That's good. That's the attitude that you gotta have. Man. I lived through the nineties. I can handle whatever. Dude, Yeah adverse. Can you imagine like you have a team and they gift you, what six Super Bowl wings, right, and then immediately you throw them away for another team, just abandoning that, Like what kind of loyalty? I can't even imagine, dude, somebody who would do that. Oh wow, maybe a team in a warmer area or something.
I don't know. I'm just spitballing hypothetically here. Tampa. Yeah, that would be. That would be that'd be low down man. So but you know, with the Jets, it's just like, I mean, I feel a little bad, but we got our own problems to so you really start wondering if like a curse is real when it comes. Well, I'll tell you what's interesting is and I saw people making comment of this, and some
dude even predicted it. Let me send me a tweet and I'm looked at the time of it, and they sent it, you know, prior to the game, that says Josh Allen's gonna tear his achilles on that wet on that wet field, and people are like, oh my gosh, it's this dude's literally psychic kind of There's there's a bigger concern here, and it's a concern that in within New York Sports and both Giants and Jets camp that has been a point of discussion, and that is the turf there. They don't
like it, and they don't like it because it's just it's slippery. In fact, it is so unliked in the world of sports that MetLife Stadium, as part of their bid as successful bid I might add to host the World Cup in twenty twenty six, had to agree to get rid of that turf and put in a proper pitch there, you know, proper grass in there.
Before the FIFA would agree to have the World Cup because they were concerned that the turf, especially if there's some moisture, would be they would have a bunch of injuries, and so they made so they agreed to do that for the soccer but not for the NFL teams that literally play in the stadium.
So this is a known problem, you know the same thing that's what took out von Miller last year with his achilles, the same same t Yeah, so it's it's you know, people have had this concern already, and if you're a negative Nancy and you just you're already already upset over the turf and you think it's really crappy that we're willing to bend the knee for soccer
and not the NFL teams that make that stadium what it is. Yeah, I would understand people's frustration, but I'd also understand their ability to kind of predict that there could be an issue, because now you're just being cynical with worst case scenario and it panned out. So there you go, all right, eight eight eight nine three four seven eight seven four the phone number. Also, what did NC State do if we're talking about who's irritated higher powers?
If you don't know, during the home opener this year, so the second game of the season, but first game at Carter Finley, there was there was there was weather. Obviously you're probably aware of Saturday's weather, which actually required there in the middle of the of the game to get everyone out of the stadium, all right, because they had a weather delay and people were they were letting people up in the PNC and whatnot to get out of
it. Thankfully, you know. I remember the Hurricane game, which was also against Notre Dame. I was there for that one, and we had like we were having to ratchet strap tailgate stuff to trees. I remember the governor was like, Oh, you're all stupid for going over there. And I remember going into Carter Finley and it was raining so hard and we sat, we sat kind of low, and so all of the water from the entire of the stadium was just backflown into us. We were so dumb.
But in this case you got lightning concerns. Well, you also have to know that NC State just spent a gazillion I think it was fifteen million, But they spent a crap ton of money on the scoreboard, which is an amazing scoreboard. I think it's one of the biggest or best or most expensive in all of college football. And so they turned this, they turned this thing on for you know, half of a football game, and God smoted it or smited it, whichever I guess would be more accurate. Lightning hit
the damn thing. So it's like, what is going on right at the beginning to the seasons. Man, you didn't injure one of your best players, but your new toys broke. Can you imagine been fifteen million on that. I'm not rubbing it in, it's just like, come on, what happened? But yeah, so it's been weird, just weird in the world of football, both professionally and collegiately. All right, but then where do you believe you? I mean, have you ever had a new TV?
Like you're like new toy and you break it immediately? There's somebody else does. So Actually I had it when I made the transition to what was the tech there was at the time. There were a couple of different ones. It was d something that DR something or other TVs and for a while it was kind of that beta Max VHS thing going on, and I bought that one, which in hindsight it wasn't the technology that were that one out, but it was a good TV. The problem was that particular TV wasn't good.
And I got it home and I had it for like three weeks, and all of a sudden, I'm watching and there's this like, you know, like the old flashbulbs about you when you're watching a movie from like the thirties, where literally like the light bulbs are breaking, falling on the floor and went on. You hear that sound the TV did that, and like you saw because I had the lights out, you saw like it back lit from like a little mini explosion in the TV against the back wall. It's
awful, Like, oh my gosh. But I went back to bast By and they gave me a new TV. Mark Marky gifted me. It was probably not this TV but our last one. I think Lincoln was maybe maybe not even two years old, so maybe it was ten years ago, but it was remember when you got your bad Boy? Yeah? Yeah, it was like the big fifty sixty inch whatever it is. Yeah, yeah, yeah, super excited. This is before four K. But it was so
excited to set everything up. And Lincoln's walking around as you do as a kid, wearing his diaper, and he's wearing a magician's hat on and he's waving around a Harry Potter one and he goes up to the TV and boom booms it and I'm like, is it the Harry Potter one that I gave you? It was? I think it was, yeah, No, I'm sorry, yeah, maybe maybe it was. But he hits it and I'm
like, oh my god, what is that? And we just got the new TV last year, the when we now the four K one, But every single time we would watch that old TV and there would be like, you know, a blue sky, clear as day or white, you would see down the center of the TV a black like where the bulbs or whatever the pixels didn't work. Yeah, just a black line. That's a horrible spell, it was. I was so angry, man, that was a bad spelling. Why would you even learn that spell? Whatever? He was
castful? Yeah, yeah, I forgot about that and lit the TV was set up for maybe I don't know, like five minutes. Five minutes. I was like that, that's a kid thing. I know. I know there are other like my niece, my nieces and nephews. Like the stuff that they destroyed in my brother's house is just bonkers. Man. I'm like, why I'm not saved. You should restrain these kids in another room with
straight jackets. But like it might be more affordable for you because they were because he had a bunch of boys, a bunch of boys, and it was right in that era where they're all like I don't know, like three to three to eight. I think it was the oldest one. So there's
like there's four boys in there. So there's three boys and a girl I think in that, yeah, because and then there's the other ones because he's got a bunch of kids and these so these three would just run around and it was crazy, like if you ever needed, like if you need a demolition crew and you're having trouble staffing, like these three would have been great for you. And so he just got to the point where he just wouldn't buy anything. Yeah, it's pretty much what you do. Yeah, it's
just like we're gonna wait this out. No, I mean we waited it out with the TV. We didn't get a new one, and you know, at first, I was really angry and upset, but as time went by, Like I can remember watching a movie when the final movies we watched in that TV before we get the new one, and there was one of these scenes where it's a clear blue sky or just white or whatever, and when I would see that mark in the TV, honest to god, it
would kind of make me smile. Yeah, because you remember it him running around in diapers and you know, two and just casting spells and whatever. Did you know? I get that? But like you kind of love your new TV too, don't yeah, you do, okay. And my first thing we said that, I said, do not go near the TV. I said, do you remember what you did when you were two? Well? Yeah, because now he's old enough to reason with. I mean,
so anyway, all right, six forty nine, let's go. We're gonna get into the just reminder eight oh five, we're gonna chat with Senator Ted Budd a few things to get into with with him. We got some spring court appointments. But when we come back, I just have a question about something and maybe I'm missing something. I really love somebody in law enforcement to help me out here, and that is this story. And r l's run multiple versions of the story though now they've got people's names in here, and
I don't think they're charged with anything. I don't even know because I don't know. And this has to do with anti Semitic flyers being distributed in uh Northern Wake County. We'll get into this coming up, because again, I just have a couple of questions, and I tried to look back on some other stories that were similar to this, and I still have not found a satisfactory answer to my question. But I'll lay it all out for you next
here on the k C O Day radio program. Hey, you know those things when you're responsible at all that you have to do well, Thank you. KC is one four five w PTI in the Triad and one uh six one FM Talk in the Triangle. All right, let me give you the quick gist of this story. But I am curious because I'm not I've not found a satisfactory answer. And maybe there's especially somebody in law enforcement or you know, from a lawyer perspective, can help me. And I've seen r
els ran like some multiple versions of the story. They did update it, and I see that they put the two names of two individuals they say are in custody, but I can't find what they're charged with or if they're charged with anything, which are a elemance they can either. And I thought the policy was you didn't put names if people aren't charged with stuff, but I don't. Obviously there is a there is a an angle here because it wasn't
phone books. They were reportedly thrown in yards, although that raises another question which we'll get to. It says two men are in custody that like I said, their names are in there after distributing anti semitic flyers Sunday in wake Forest and Rollsville, Elizabeth Springs neighborhood. I don't know specifically which one that is, but apparently a resident there found a zip block bag with flyers in
the drive. The reason they put in zip block where they'll put some like beans or something in there, is just to weight it down right then go by and just throw it in a yard. And they don't just do it with this. We've seem you know, with anti Semitic flyers or racist flyers, because there was like I think there was some plan flyers or something that at the same setup. They also have to do it with like pizza stuff
that I've seen people get mad. I think I'm comparing the two, but I do have questions about what exactly the charges are, so I'm gonna dive into more details. We'll do that coming up right after the news stick around. All right, good morning, everybody is seven those six here on the PCO Bay Radio program phone number eight eight eight nine three four seven eight seven four. All right, let me let me, let me get into this
story. And it's I mean, it is its own story, but it's very similar to some other ones that we have seen where somebody goes into a neighborhood or a group goes into a neighborhood and they are distributing flyers of some sort. And and by the way, I understand that in some of these instances, especially ones where they never really figure out who was doing it, that some people speculate that it's like it's the disinformation campaign to make a political
party look good or bad or whatever. I understand that all those theories exist. But there are several instances, as I was able to find where people were I were charged or identified in these instances. And so that's when we're dealing with here. And I'm trying to figure this out because I understand the frustration of the homeowner. I understand the how people are repelled by what some of these flyers say, whether it's uh anti Semitic flyers or some of the
the the Clan flyers. There's been flyers that we're if you look, we're right on that right on that edge of where is it politic? You know, like you get into black lives matter stuff, and people have a wide variety of opinions and and so I I understand that there's going to be a range of what people see as hate flyers, annoying stuff, or just you know, other stuff that ends up that you know, you go home and like, so somebody stuck a pizza thing in your screen door, which I
get irritated by that stuff. I know it's a little thing, but it's just like, don't touch, don't touch my place. So or like when phone books would show up randomly and I'm like, nobody uses this, stop it, although that thankfully ceased. So I look, I understand it runs the gamut. And I'm not saying all are created equal in the eyes of
the people who receive it or the people distributed for that matter. And a lot of stuff is going to be easily identifiable and easily agreeable by the majority of the population that it is. It's it's racist, or it's anti semitic,
or whatever you want to call it. But I just want to point out it runs the gamut because when you go to enforce stuff, you're going to be bound by You're going to be bound by the fact that when it comes to the protection of speech, it gets dicey and it doesn't necessarily matter
just what the speech is. You know, hate speech is protected. Speech is a thing and all, but we're not you know, in this case, you're talking about speech that's going to a homeowner, it turns into when the government steps in to do something about it, right, And so, when I was trying to wrap my head around is I read this story, is so these flyers are being distributed. They talked to a woman who in the neighborhood. She said, while she respects people's freedom of speech, she
didn't appreciate the flyers being left under property. I'm with her. I wouldn't want him on my property either. They have a right to their opinions. Just don't force it on anybody else. The woman said, putting something like that on my lawn is forcing it on me. Yeah. Again, I don't like people putting cards in the door, or flyers or phone books or any of that stuff. I just got to clean it up. It's annoying to me. However, I don't know that it's inherently illegal. That's what
I'm trying to figure out. And so I tried to find in other instances where they found people doing this at both in North Carolina and other you know, other states where I saw examples, what do they charge with And as I go through and I look at what the charges are in many other instances, and I don't know what they are here. I have not seen anything
definitive, and I haven't seen them show up on the county website. The charges run the gamut from littering, but that's generally in places that have ordinances where you can't leave anything on property, so you couldn't even you couldn't put restaurant menus as some restaurants will do, or phone books for that matter. Maybe in this case obviously anti Semitic flyers as they're described, so it so
in that case, it's at it's some sort of littering ordinance. But most often I see people charged with kind of catch all stuff like disorderly conduct, which you know, that's one of those charges where it's you can find a whole lot to fit in that barrel. But then I don't know. So, so here's what I'm trying to understand from somebody in law enforcement or in
the lawyering world. Is this inherently illegal? I understand that it's uh, it's it's it's shocking to a neighborhood and to many of the people that responded here. And if your kid found it and like looked and it's like, that's the whole thing, and it's something that I understand that nobody would want to nobody would want to have to deal with, but I don't. I don't, And and so then it raises the question, well, if if it, if there's not really charge that fits it, how are you arresting
people? Look, I don't want this to come across as some sort of defense of the actual content of the speech if they are. In fact, I haven't seen the flyers, so, but I've seen versions of some other flyers that have showed up recently in the area. So if they're similar to that, yeah, I understand why people think that that's anti semitic. But you're allowed to have that view. We got members of Congress that run around
with that view. And if you're allowed to paper people's yards with other stuff, is there is there a legal line when it's that versus some of the other stuff that I love that I saw. I'm just trying to figure out what the charges in the law are because I you know, I'd like to know this stuff definitively, and I am unable to ascertain it. So maybe somebody can help me. Out eight eight eight nine three four seven eight seventy four. I don't know people saying, well, Liz, I don't know
that's forcing hate speech. Well, I mean that's obviously that's a subjective personal opinion. And if that's her opinion, that's her opinion, that's fine. But it is littering in my opinion. Yeah, Look, if you if you want to be able to enforce something like this, other municipalities have made it illegal for you to go and post things with very rare exceptions. I mean the exceptions generally are like if if a government agency needs to post something,
or sometimes they give political exceptions. That's the other thing. I hate getting littered on the property. But you know where they're like could, but you know politicians are I'd like to make laws then carve out so they can do stuff, you know, like when they were when they were doing this. They can spam act like they get an exception, and any of the phone call legislation. They're good to go, right, they always do that.
But if you're gonna if you don't want people doing anything, then you're gonna have to do a catch all so that the guy dumping anti Semitic flyers and the guy dump in restaurant menus have accountability under the same law, and I don't know what that is. I saw somebody else asking this question on Twitter, and everyone was screaming that they're an anti semi And if if you're that ignorant to not understand what I'm asking, I want you to think about
the fact that you may hold some views, thoughts, or political opinions that some of your neighbors might find a troubling right, that's a that's a possibility. And so if for whatever reason you decide to advocate through that with that by like you know, handing out political pamphlets or thoughts or anything, just just keep in mind that what you're sitting there and and deciding is because under your definition is how it should be. It doesn't just make it so.
That's not how it works. Where you get to be the subjective person about what is or isn't illegal, you have to have defined stuff. That's all that I'm saying, And I want to know what that definition is. Eight eight eight nine three four seven eight seven four Is that? Am I? Am? I clear on this question? I think so, So I want to get some calls on that eight eight eight nine three four seven eight seven four because I've I've tried to figure it out and I haven't been able to.
All Right, let's do this seven sixteen. We'll see if we get some calls lined up, and we'll come back. We've got lots more to get into as well. It is the case O Day Radio program. This is one oh six one FM Talk in the Triangle, and there's talk PTI in the Triad. Well. As predicted, some of you don't get it. I know, well when look when you have more and more people who have now undergone the indoctrination that speech is violence. Sometimes it is threats of
violence, and that is a that's its own thing. That is a carved out exception. But that's not what many of these instances that we've seen on like college campuses or examples of what protesters are holding signs of going to the speeches violence and they have a quote and I'm like, they're not threatening violence. I don't necessarily agree with what that person said, but I don't know
that they're threatening violence. And the reason that you have to have consistency with this, and I think that I think that if people just sat down to think about it, is if if you allow like a choose your own adventure on this stuff, then what exactly is quote unquote heat speech. There's no consistency. And you know it was, it was back in the day.
You know, there were communities, especially right especially in the South, where if people went and were advocating for ideas that many many of the very same ideas and I think many of these protesters would say are very good things that for this for this country, right of equality or voting or any of the rest. Police police would involve themselves in tamping that down in some in some
ways, in very illegal ways. And I'm not I'm not saying that the two things are equal, but if they don't meet the definition of threatening violence,
they're treated as equal. And so that's why you have to have you have to have consistency on this stuff, because while those are I think most people would agree or very opposite ends of the spectrum examples, it's when you start getting into those gray areas that people and people see this, they see the version of this on social media where you're like baffled, wait, well,
why is this something that they took off? But this isn't something where who was it was it an Instagram who just there was a de transitioning girl who was literally sharing her experiences and they claimed that she was her post war violence. I see. I saw that story the other day and it's like
she's talking in the first person, like this is what I experienced. So that's why I asked these questions because I have intellectual curiosity, but also I've long advocated on this show, if you want to have a law, it needs to be easy to understand so that people so that you can accurately say, hey, you knew this was illegal because X. Why here's the law and it's very easy to read. And that's all I want. And then I want enforcement across the board that is equal, because equality is a good
thing. Equity is garbage, as we've as we talked about the examples there, but that's what you strive for, and that's what I thought. Police people who were protesting the police were advocating for the equal application of the law, but also the equal application of how police interactions went. But crazy me. All right, Sarah, what's up? Hey, good morning, Casey.
I love your radio show. Thank you for having me on. So I wanted to chime in on the person that has the paper or whatever it is that was on their lawn or on their front porch, and you're asking about is it legal. Well, in in my neighborhood, we have a very strong, very noted no solicitation label on our on our neighborhoods. You can't come through, you can't hang things on our door, et cetera, et cetera. So I think that might be the answer you're looking for.
Is it solicitation that I heard? I'm relieving Yeah, no, And I thought about that because you're right, and but that's not Those are not necessarily the charges that I've seen. I haven't seen that, except there is a law, and there are laws in various places that if a neighborhood such as yours, and they post a sign right that says it, or homeowner posts a sign that says it, then it can be an administrative violation right because that law is not a law of government, it is a law of hoa.
However, it then has a secondary government version where they say, look, if people go through the trouble of posting this and you still do it, and they posted it in the proper lettering in size much like the gun free stuff, then you are then committing a law, but I don't. I haven't seen an instance where that's what somebody's charged with. So I appreciate the thought because I have the same thought too, but I haven't seen anything
that matches that. Patrick, real quick, what's up? Good morning? Thanks to take them up. Carlo apologish for not here in all of your about this, but yeah, I wanted to point out a general statute that you can look up on your computer fourteen dash for a one point fourteen ethnic intimidation. Simply put, it has to have a threat on the document.
It's a class one misdemeanor. Or if you have a group of people that you want to teach this UH bad idea too, and you have the means to do it and you're teaching how to do it there, that's also a class one misdemeanor. So there's two elements to that statute. Carolina. When you say the bad idea, what you mean is you're teaching people how to go out and threaten people. That was want to be about. Yeah, correct, point out the two the two facets of this UH statute. It's
flash four one point fourteen. It might help your conversation this morning. No absolutely, sir. That's because it gives me something to thank you for the call to look four to see if that's in fact the charge this front. See look at that. We're filling in the gaps here. All right, you got lizards smuggling and more calls coming up. Yeah. Hey, it's Jesse Kelly Smart Talk all day four five w p TI in the Triad and one oh six one FM Talk in the Triangle. All right, welcome back,
seven thirty five. Good morning here on the k c O DA radio program. They're rather interesting little smuggling story here customs officials in China. Let's see or excuse me. Well, so here's the deal. So it was it was the the border from mainland China into Hong Kong. So I'll let you decide whether that's China or not. But and it was on the Chinese mainland side. I'm assuming. I don't even I don't even know how that how that works to travel between the two. Is it Hong Kong officials who
did the searching? But whatever, because there's many I guess it was Chinese mainland security officials. Okay, all right, So she's getting ready to go through the port, and the reason you go through report is because it is a faery that gets you over there, so and they treat it as an international travel, which you know, it was interesting when China claims in Hong Kong is part of China, that you yourself have international travel. But that's
not the point of this. The point is a Chinese woman was seized after officials say she attempted to smuggle sixteen live lizards the inside of her bra. The lizards I had to look this up because I'm trying to figure out how
big these things are. They obviously weren't adults because she They say that they were sail thinned lizards, which are I think there are a threatened species, but specifically in China you're not allowed to import them, which is weird because you pretty much bring anything else in there from a critter standpoint, So she
was attempting to smuggle them into Hong Kong. The lizards, which can attain a length of twenty four to thirty six inches as adults, juveniles generally between twelve and sixteen inches, So I mean, these are not They're not tiny little lizards, and I don't know how big they were, but big enough to obviously stand out two officials. Also, is that a little weird if like you're sitting there and your chest is, like, you know, moving
a lot, I'm assuming I'm assuming that's gonna draw a notice. Also, ross you read this story right? Yes? I did? Did you did anything? Did any thought as you were evaluating whether this plan was gonna work? Did you have any thoughts that either would increase or perhaps decrease the effectiveness of the plan that crossed your mind about? Surely have no idea what you're
speaking of about the smuggler or the attempt at smuggler. As are you speaking about the size of the smuggler a kind of is that what you're getting that? I mean, if you're saying it would be easy to smuggle all the lizards in your chest if you had a chest, like if you were a miss bum Bum contestant over in Brazil versus a demure woman as she appears to be in this vote. The pictures, I mean, they're blurred so he can't see any of that, but you can get a general sense of her
size, and she looks like a small, small Chinese woman. And I just feel like, if you're pack, if your BRA's packing sixteen lizards that their length even if you go the smallest juvenile length is you know it still about a foot? Is that a dead giveaway? I'm trying to be but you know what I'm asking right, Ross doesn't want to touch this with a with a ten foot lizard, you know, anything to do with this. I just feel I just feel like maybe that wasn't the best plan, or
you need smaller critters to smuggle, like some geckos or something. I don't know. Man, she got busted and obviously obviously they figured it out real quick because they put the video out. But they say it's not even the weirdest thing that they say that even this month, a passenger attempted to smuggle into Hong Kong through this very same port of entry. They say another woman was arrested for uh, attempting to smuggle seventy seven seahorses. Now that seems
more practical, right. Seahorses are small, right, I mean some are bigger than others, but even at their biggest, they're not that big. Do you ever watch that show about the customs, like they're coming through the airport and stuff, the smuggling show, the one that where they go they have where the New York Airport and then the customs bordered along well Detroit and Washington was International two. They had some in like Central America and South America
and yeah, some over there. It's crazy what they try to bring in when it comes to like animals. They one dude he was he seemed like he was a reli guying from like Brooklyn, and they set him down the chair and he had like parrots, giant exotic birds just duct taped to his body and tubes. Dude, I told you when I was at when I was in the Bahamas, I was leaving the Bahamas, and so when you leave the Bahamas, this was the airport up on the was his name Escaping
Me, not Nassau, but whatever. But anyways, I'm trying. I'm getting on the plane and it's just a short little hot plane to Miami and the Miami to Row. But as I'm leading, they you go. You have to go and kind of check out with a Bahamian customs official and it's this woman and it's all that, and she's super super nice and we're sitting there and there was, for whatever reason, there was a little bit of a delay where they didn't let you then go straight because you have to like
re scan your bags when you're leaving because it's a big problem. And there's these posters like don't try to smuggle birds and I and I couldn't help myself because I'm naturally curious. I'm like, like, straight up, how often does that happen? And she's like you apparently a lot. And they put them in these like tubes and they take them to their bodies and they and they dose them. Yeah, they do it a lot of the times. The birds just don't survive because on the show they were taking the birds out
of these tubes and they're just dead. Yeah, the dead parrot. But they get enough through where it's you know, where they make money on it. Yeah, it's a crazy it's a crazy problem in the Caribbean and Central and South America. I have big problems with the two, but not as big in some countries as others. Dude, Ecuador, when you're the Galopa goos, like like, if if there's one place you don't want to try to smuggle away with a critter, that would be the Gallapagos. They're kind
of protective of everything there. But yeah, she was telling me, and she told me that she herself had seen a guy who had what did they have? They had like seventy birds or something. It was not just one dude. It was like these three dudes they busted. She said when she, you know, years ago, when she started doing this, and it's yeah, and she said that most many of them don't survive, but they only need a few and it's like super worthy of Freeport. Thank you.
People are sending it to me because my brain's not working. Yeah, I was in the airport and Freeport. I'm just getting on the plane to go. I'd wanted some guys for a golf vacation and all that. So, but yeah, she was very open about it. I'm like, that is horrible, but also it's it's very lucrative. Imagine sitting on a plane though the entire plane ride, and you're sitting in your seat and you have like two hundred pair its duct taped to your body. Do you want sixteen lizards
in your in your bra? I mean what I give her credit, you know in the sense that you know the most most women's reaction to a lizard is not, hey, could you put that right on my skin? It's kill it with fire, right, so uh yeah, all right, now I've offended all women with a cups. That wasn't my intention, but it is kind of like, and I mean this like this, you have to if you're gonna be a smuggler, it has to kind of comport with your
body style to be believable, because some of these are ridiculous. To Ross's point, where it's because they look for really baggy clothing is something that they're looking for, especially in a warm weather environment, that tends to stand out if you're you have a lot of clothing or very baggy clothing, like they're they're gonna look for stuff like that. But also, you know who I need to get to smuggle the lizards is the chick with the remote. Remember
that story Ross? Oh yeah, the morbidly obese woman who she was the beginning of bag hanging or whatever. And she went to the doctor in Charlotte. Yeah, was it in Charlotte and then they were like, hey, you've had a remote in your fat roles for like two years. Well I don't think it was quite two years. It was pretty horrible, Yeah, and it was it was because that woman smuggled a gun into the Chicago White
Sox game with in her fat roles. So like that's who you want if you need to smuggle lizards, like because remember the way she got the gun in is you found out is because even though she the wand hit when the guy, when the security guy looked at it and it just it's just seen, you know, skin and rolled over skin. He went, I made eight bucks an hour. I'm not putting my hand in there. So just something to think about, all right, seven forty six we got mister raced
Agrick back today. Huh, yes, sir, did you really need a day off after that non game which one well actually last night, this was pretty strange course of events there. Yeah, but at least look, the whole thing was just there's so much storyline there year it wasn't right. Yes, dude, I've never been so bored with a football game. I'm just like, I am out man, I am out expect that. Yeah, I mean, so what are the Giants? I mean you've got to ask
yourself that question. First. They're a team that is mostly returned most of the team and who went into two rounds into the playoffs last year. Right, I mean they're not good, but they're not They're not awful. So no, they're not supposed to be. You know, did weather play a factor? There was a lot of rain around? And yeah, I'm trying to take the kind of the middle of the road here because you've got to look at the look at the offensive stats. And sure Pollard did well,
but Dak if you look at his stats, it wasn't spectacular. He didn't need to be. Though. I pointed that. I pointed that out to my body as a Cowboys fan. He's like, we won forty nothing and shut your face. I see, I've been doing this for too long and I know better not the hop on that we're going to the super Bowl. Because I'm getting texts and my brother in law sends me a text, are you are you? Are you getting ready for your super Bowl plans? And
I'm like, no, well you can't Cowboys fan. You know, I don't know if you guys know this. You have a bit of a rep what's that? A little bit of an ego? I mean, yeah, no, no, no, I know you're not me. Yeah, I'm probably one of the exceptions. I just you know, you expect to win and you expect championships, not you know, one one first round of the playoffs and lose. So we've got to get to the NFC Championship game in order for me to be satisfied. And obviously you want to win a super
Bowl. But I haven't seen it's gonna stop you Well, I don't know Fran. You know, we'll see San Fran and the Eagles. I think, ye that, I think, you know, that's really concern lies. But again, I don't know what we're good to go there. Yeah, I wasn't gonna say anything, but yeah, I don't know a week the San Fran game is, but I know they do play San Francisco Jets. Defense looks okay next week against the Jets. I mean, I don't know how many points they're going to be able to score, but you know,
and again, oh gosh, what's his name? He did enough, He did enough to keep him in the game, so he didn't make too many mistakes. Anyway, Here, we've got changes coming for the better. Another warm day today. Yesterday we did make it to the low nineties in the triangle. The Tryads stay in the eighties today, most of us mid upper eighties. A little cloud. Other than that, more sunshine, especially later today, and then the change will come in tonight with some wet weather scattered
around tonight through tomorrow. The rain chances probably diminish a little early tomorrow, then they come back in the afternoon middle eighties, and then after that Thursday Friday spectacular even on into the weekend load of mid eighties for daytime highs. There's a couple of days Thursday and Friday, some of us, especially west, may not get out of the upper seventies with loads of the fifties. You can turn the ac off, open up the windows, and enjoy it.
I'm gonna start getting a little rough out near the water though, if you did have a late season beach trip planned with Lee, that's gonna run up parallel to the coast well out to see though. But the left edge of the western edge of the hurricane center's cone does get into western New England
over the weekend. But I think dangerous rip currents and all the impacts coming from the Atlantic Ocean and along the beaches rather than inland at least through the Mid Atlantic and further south, but northeast New England, and maybe some direct impacts from the western end, depending on where the center goes. Okay, all right, man, thank you very much, appreciate it, and we'll talk in an hour. All right, it's race staging from the Weather Channel.
Ross, what is the most Southern event you've ever been to? You know, like a like a pig pickin. You've been to a whole hog roast, might maybe say a pumpkin chunkin pumpkin sho that's pretty good. But have you been to a possum eaten? I have not, You've never. Okay, that's apparently a thing, much to the horror of onlookers. All Right, that story and this Virginia Candida plus congress Congressman Senator Ted bud at
eight OHO five coming your way. Hang on one oh six one FM Talk and ninety four five w PTI, two stations driving the best in talk. This is Casey O Day and Carolina's Morning News. All right, let's dive into this the story that made Ross Biel dirty and that many of you have sent me because you are connoisseurs of the news. Apparently one of the Democratic
candidates for state Senate seat in Virginia, which is all super competitive. Obviously Democrats are there's still a little shell shocked with all of the young kins stuff and what happened there, So a ton of money going into this ton of money for these races, and one of the candidates that's in a district that with a very narrow divide is a woman by the name of Susannah Gibson, and I think I think she actually is a nurse is her background. However,
some other stuff emerging. It was the Washington Post who wrote this story first, so some other stuff emerged, and that is a side hustle. The side hustling question is her and her husband are on one of those websites doing adult stuff for money to catch madrift. So it's not only fans, but it's kind of if you know what I mean. And and also ross from your reading, it sounds like they were also there was other ways for people to participate than just give money. Was that your read on it too?
Yeah, I was very confused by that because I didn't mean because they're talking about the acts that were done for money, and I'm not sure if they were actually like physical acts or like virtual where they did a front of the one thing that's posted here. Sounds like they were saying that if somebody donated enough, they could excellent right, right, So anyway. So this this gets out there, very effective fundraiser, judging by the donations they got
her husband, some lawyer there in the area. This is I think it's outside of Richmond where this is anyway, but yeah, yeah, this is Look, it's it is what it is. I predicted that we would see more of this as people as generations where there's more comfort in sending digital nudes in themselves, except this is different. And so she made a statement which is it's a lie. So she actually, in response to the story which got out there, said they I'm not going to allow Republicans to intimidate me
or silence me. My political opponents and the Republican allies have proven they're willing to commit a sex crime to attack me. That's not a sex crime. A sex crime would be if somebody if you had sent photos to your husband and you guys had a falling out and they were tended to be private photos, and he posted them as revenge porn, which is you know what the various laws are about, or somebody broke into your house and you know, got a hold of a digital camera that had it, or you're on your
phone or whatever. Because those are not intended to be released. You posted videos for money, you and your husband doing this stuff for a live audience, just like Ross Stream's video games. You streamed this. And while you could argue a kitness a copyright violation, which I don't even think would hold up, the Washington Post is not a Republican ally and this is not that
so I you know, voters will have to figure it out. But yeah, yeah, this is something totally I can't even read most of this on the air if he catched Madrid, but we'll tweet out the story, but I wouldn't read it around people. All right, good morning everybody, and welcome happy Tuesday for you. How our number three casey Okay radio program?
And what is strange strange script it? Spin man? Oh? Just in the news cycle over the last couple of days, not to mention all of the football horribleness we're all dealing with, except for Rays Page with the stupid Cowboys, But that's not what we're here to talk about. We got we got the same insanity continuing to roll out in Washington. North Carolina Senator Ted Budd joining us to well, I'll hit a few of the high notes. How you doing this morning? Sir, kay, I miss you. I'm
doing great. Hope you're doing well. I'm doing well too, except for, like I just said, in the world of NFL where the Vikings suck Panthers are still rebuilding. Ross's Bills lost yesterday, so it's very depressing around graduate tragic. My app state lost to Carolina, so I know I'm never happy. But you made a game out of it though. Heck, yeah, you ever done? Yeah? That was that was great, didn't you guys? At the beginning of the season last year? Wasn't there or was
it? What was was it like four overtimes or something. Wasn't there some crazy game last year that I think? Yeah, I think I was campaigning and uh was veried deep in somewhere else in some other county. You're having to watch your phone. You're like, no, no, no vote for me. But hold on it. Oh man, all right, Well, I'm just gonna dive into it too. I wish we'd just talked about football, but Washington and Washington and I gotta say, here's where I gotta start.
I don't know, here's what I want to start my own country. Maybe you can help me out with this and just do deals with this administration and clean up. Because whether we're trading the Lord of War for NBA w NBA players or five on five personnel plus six billion dollars, it seems anyone striking deals with the US is doing pretty good right now. Yeah. So to do a deal on nine to eleven with the largest state sponsor of terra in the world, with Iran and give them six billion dollars, yeah,
that's definitely saying, uh, you know, sucker right here. But it's amazing the weakness that the Biden administration projects. They've just done it so consistently, whether it's at the border, whether it's with Iran, whether it's with China, or whether it's in you know, two years ago, last month in Afghanistan, which we're still reeling from, and it's all of that is just cascaded downhill and just you know, the Biden administration looks like suckers to
the rest of the world. What is so in your position right whether it's the Senate or that or the House for that matter, but your separate branch of government is there. There's not really anything you guys can do when it comes to these because that's really a function of that of the executive branch. Right Well, the function right now is to win in twenty twenty four. Make sure we got great candidates and we you know, I've been in the
majority, I've been in the minority. I'm now in the minority in the Senate, and I want to be in the majority so that we can be in charge. I want a Republican president in the White House, you know, so that we can begin writing this ship that you know, first of all, it was decimated by Obama and now we see the continuation of that under Joe Biden and plus ni plus mixed with incompetence. I was gonna say, but there were some bad deals there too. We're okay, and terrorists
for awall military individuals. So, and I think one of the things I saw is that they want to there's another trade in the works, maybe with Russia that would trade a Wall Street Journal reporter, I saw speculation. Washington Post did a story yesterday. Yeah, and I don't know. I don't know, right, hit man a frigging Putin's top hit man, which obviously he has others because everyone keeps falling out windows around him. But what are
we doing? Yeah, it's it's amazing. So you definitely don't want to be near any glass windows or anything like that around in the Putin administration. Does he have anybody that works for him that's not a hit man, But I don't know what that you know, what the trade is going to be offered for and how that's going to be settled out. But again, just shows you how oppressive he is that he would put you know, a member of the free press in prison when he doesn't like the opinions. That just
demonstrates weakness. And really, when you look at ge and China, when you look at Putin in Russia, they have really isolated themselves, so their decisions become more and more poor. Any of us that make great decisions, you know, we were always working in a team and making you sure to check our own opinions. You've got to operate with a certain amount of humility. But they are operating in total isolation, and it doesn't bode well for
the future of those countries. No, when they're carting out the former president at that meeting in China right kind of looking like it was against his will, Like they're taking him to a farm up state. I mean, it's it's easy to look at that stuff. And I don't want to say make you know, morbid jokes about because it's very real when you realize that that is what people deal with inside of this country that I think a lot of people just go, oh, you know, they're just a finance another big
financial partner out there and all of that. They spy on us. They flew a balloon across us. Did you see the reports of Chinese tourists outside of military bases? They had like a hundred incidents and yeah, it's it's it's happening all over. What that is. I mean, they're trying little
incursions to test our security and they're just constantly messing with us. It's a model that Russia's used, it's a model that that that China's used, and really they're poking at a weakness that's been demonstrated since twenty twenty one and it's it's it's tragic. Uh. Look in the meantime, in the military, I mean, we got up our game. I like our odds. But at the same time, it's in spite of what Biden's doing rather than because of Let's talk about a little bit of that and what's going on up in
Washington, specifically around there's two stories I want to touch on. One over in the House and then obviously in the Senate with you, and it is a heart it says here hardline, this is from the Hill, hardline House Republicans itching for shutdown and impeachment fights. And then obviously there's the fiduciary concerns,
which are pretty standard in these standoffs. But there's also the threat of some of your former House colleagues saying, look, if you don't agree to go forward with impeachment hearings, then you're not going to get our votes. So help me, help walk me through this, even though this is the other side of things for you, because obviously if they do hold hearings and they do vote to impeach, then it's your guys turn. What do you
understand the strategy to be in House as full of this standoff? The well, I look at it. You know about five different things that are part of the budget negotiations, and impeachment is just one of them. I don't think even I don't think even the folks that are holding out and saying and you know, shut down, using it as a lever, are actually for the shutdown we want to keep it open. We want good government. That's why people sent us to Washington, DC. But it's the content inside of
it. People are saying, Look, there's been over a thousand hundred Biden emails to the VP administration when he was in office. They're saying, there's major ethical concerns. He's Biden's been in office for fifty years. He's gotten without any known outside businesses, He's become massively wealthy. How did this happen. We're starting to see some of the evidence of that of corruption, and
we need to address this. I mean, with hardly any evidence. You know, when Trump asks the administration to look into this, he gets impeached for that. But now we're seeing the other side of the issue, and we're seeing real corruption inside the Biden administration. So that's one of the issues. Were energy cost and more energy exploration, which the Biden administration is shutting down. We're seeing inflation, We're seeing the debt level issue, We're seeing
the border crisis. All those are contents inside of a looming end of fiscal year, which is September thirtieth, so twelve days away, and people have different priorities there. I think they're right on the issue, but we want to do everything we can to give people good government that they sent us here for and not shut it down. But again, you've got to hold the line. You know, We've got to keep things like Disaster Aid and Ukraine
funding. That needs to be separate. You don't want to keep government open or closed as a result of that. That needs to be a separate deal. So we can talk about that on its own. But it's coming at us here in twelve days. I don't know what the results are going to be, but we need to treat our budget the same way that a small business or a working family would treat theirs. And you know, if they can balance the budget, I think that you know their family's budget. I
think that we could as well as a government. You know, I'm gonna have to. Actually, there's one thing I kind of disagree with you on, and you use the example that would have been my defense. That's not how a family. If a family, or if I'm putting my budget together, or you are, or anybody else in your real life, you don't partition a big chunk of your spec or a chunk of spending. Right, So, if I'm gonna put my monthly budget together and I have X number
of dollars to work with. I want to see everything that is going to be an expenditure and to say, all right, I'm going to put a budget together, but a whole separate thing. I'll decide how much I spend on, like let's say, you know, going out to eat. I can't separate that from the budget. So if if people are going to continue to want to send money to Ukraine or whatever the thing is where people have objections, if it's an expenditure, shouldn't it be part of the budget discussion?
In total? Yes? But should should that be part of the shutdown issue? I don't think so. I mean, look, we've got a lot of issues you know that in dealing with Ukraine separately, So I think we need to look at it. Accountability for the American people. There's a big push to make sure that there's transparency where our weapons, where our money
going. I am very aware that Shannah and Russia are watching to see how we handle ourselves there, and I think we need to be strong, which to Biden, the administration again has not been There's been a lot of equivocation. I think we need to see Europe step up. I think there's some good things that we're learning for kind of a new battlefield that we didn't learn
in Iraq and Afghanistan that we are learning in this new world. But I think we've got to be very careful, and so I don't think that this discussion needs to be part of what happens in the next twelve days. I don't think we would ever fully impeach anybody ever again, would you agree with
that? I'm not talking about the House doing their thing, because I think that's been ramped up to the point where we'll see a lot more of that because now there's a you know, you got to get your opponents back kind
of mindset for a lot of people. But I just I don't know if we'll ever find a situation and short of like, I don't know a bunch of bodies emerging in their private residence of a president not just getting the House treatment, but the Senate actually voting with the total number of votes needed to
impeach. So is this exercise does it need to change? I mean, because people don't feel that there is accountability here with all of the smoke that you're seeing with Biden, versus what they did get Trump for man, Well, they're short term and long term, long term being next year a little over a year away, and that's November twenty twenty four. Let's make sure
we've got good, secure elections that Republicans and conservative and independence. By the way, my election last year, I really made sure that I reached out to the independence those they're they're not really brought into one party or the other. They just want good government. They want, you know, fiscal responsibility
and strong defense, like hey, I'm your guy. And again, we got to have people turn out all across North Carolina and the other forty nine states to make sure that from the top down we get good leadership because you see what happens when things go sideways, and that's what Biden administration is showing now. In the short term, impeachment takes two hundred and eighteen out of
the four hundred and thirty five votes in the House. There's an issue with a very slim majority that Kevin McCarthy has, maybe he can get an impeachment across. But let's look at what has to happen, because remember that's just bringing up the charges. That's all impeachment is, and people kind of think
about, you know, you kick a president out with impeachment. No, you just bring charges with impeachment, and the House does that, then it moves over to a trial, if we remember, over in the Senate, and takes two thirds over there. So it's sixty six and it's going to be really hard with a forty nine Republican to make that happen and fifty one Democrats. So I don't see the math working out in total for a removal of a president. Maybe McCarthy can get together an impeachment. I think there's
real, real concerns with the ethics of the Biden administration. And plus just on top of that, just tone deafness and eliteness that we're just seeing all over the it's out of touch with the American people, regardless of their party. All right, let's and this this runs the gamut from a party standpoint, from the president during night night time on the on the stage they're at
Vietnam, which is just the latest of concerns. Mitch McConnell obviously has had a couple incidents where he has frozen up that have been in the news. John Fetterman's concerns Nancy Pelosi says she's running for re election. Do you do you think that there needs to be an age limit or a competency test. Everybody seems to have a different opinion. Where are you at on this?
Because obviously people are concerned across the political spectrum. Yeah, you know, this is something we've been dealing with for decades, if not hundreds of years in this country. It's just now it's on social media. Now, it's you know, on new media, it's all over. People are concerned about it. But I think the people back home in the Home States need to make the decision. And I think the candidates need to make the decision.
If they don't like it, they can certainly kick them out if they're certainly not apple, and they can leave office and the governor of the state would appoint somebody of the same party. So there's all kinds of solutions that are built into the constitution for this. And yeah, I think these these candidates need to be the deciding factor, and then ultimately it's the people deciding whether
they'll accept it or not. You know, are they getting older when it comes to leader McConnell, I think thirty seconds every now and then of pausing, you know, is a concern, but nothing compared to two and a half years of incompetence from the White House. That's my main concern right now is the leadership of Joe Biden or lack of for the last two and a
half years. All right, And then let's so regard let's say, because the math works out based on your age and McConnell's age, whether it's this or something else, and the reelection rate of sitting senators, the chances are you will find yourself in a position to have to figure out, along with your colleagues, who's going to be running things on your I once McConnell's gone again for whatever reason. Yeah, yeah, well, and before we get
to that, but here's what I want to ask. And this is a Daily Caller article where they spoke to no less than five of your colleagues in this article anonymously, I would point out, with the exception of one, so take it for what it is. And they said, the race to replace McConnell will be rigged. And they said, basically because of the amount of money that the Minority leader, Mitch McConnell has available to help his Republican
colleagues. Come election, you have to be very you're walking on egg shells. You need to fall in line or you could be financially punished. And they say that once he's gone, likely it will be one of the John's. All right, so John Thune, John Barrasso, I saw his name in there from Wyoming. Uh, And I'm there's one other Cornyan, John Cornyn, and that if people want to challenge any of the kind of hand selected fillins, it's not going to go well for m Do you feel that
that's the atmosphere you I would have thought that until January. Actually, excuse me. It was December. After I was elected last year, and before I was sworn in, we had leadership elections, and you know, there was a challenger that was whipping votes. And then what you see afterwards is after a tense a few days, then all of a sudden, everybody's back
to business. So nobody's punished. We all worked together as Republicans, so it's not all always hunky dory, But I'm saying people do work together for the Republican conservative views, and that you know that doesn't make good press, right, because they like red on red, they like Republicans fighting each other. But I'm not seeing it like a lot of the press is seeing it. People work together, even though we all have different flavors of you know,
where we are on the spectrum of being conservative. Okay, well, and I don't just think it's a Republican thing. I think Nancy Pelosi famously published she punished people, and we've the money, the money. They fear her, they fear her, and I don't see that on this side. I see respect, appreciation for somebody that can raise money and help somebody, But I see in practice somebody supporting candidates that can win but need help to
do it, rather than this vindictiveness that you see on the left. Senator, I'm gonna have to leave it there. I almost called you Cargressman, but you've got a promotion. So Senator Ted Bud, thanks for the time. We'll talk here soon. Okay, Thanks Katy, all right, and we will be right back, So hang on, keeping you connected. This is ninety four five WUPTI in the Triad and one oh six one FM Talk in the Triangle. All right, welcome back. It is the OA Neo
program phone number eight eight eight nine three four seven eight seventy four. All right, go ahead and get into this. I don't know who thought this was a good idea. Somebody you just oh, you know what, ros I just realized I forgot to do something. We in the audio do we have the twin tower mattress had? Right? You remember the one I'm talking
about where the mattress? What? Yeah? All right, sorry, I just realized I thought of this earlier, and then I was was concentrating on what I was going to talk to the senator about, and then I didn't grab it. So, but you know, so I yesterday, yesterday the folks over Draft Kings. Yeah, online sports betting, online sports betting, they posted a parlay or you don't know what a parlay is. A parlay
is a much more lucrative bet, but a much more dangerous bet. So it's like, if you just wanted to bet on last night's Jets game, Okay, you could. You could go bet the game a couple of different ways. You could bet depending on what the spread is. You could bet the money line, or you could bet using with the points. Right, So if if you have one team that was favored by six points, you could you could bet that team and if they're favored by six, they have
to win by more than six or your bet to pay off. Or you could bet money line, and then the amount that you bet versus the amount that you win will change. So if that same team is favored by six, but you want to money line bet them, I'm giving you an education here, which I'm sure many of you know but some don't. If you want to bet them money line, it's going to cost you more money to
bet them. So to win one hundred dollars if they are favored by you know, a few points, you'll have to risk hundreds and hundreds of dollars because it's more of a surer thing, but it's not always a sure thing. So when you lose, you really lose. And then there's a parlay, and a parlay on a smaller bet can get you big returns, but it's it's very dangerous because you're counting not just on one bet. And I won't even get to the complications of over unders and all that, but let's
just say there's three games you want to bet. You pick the three teams you think are gonna win, and then you can go ahead and bet a parlay and you'll get expansive numbers. So if a team was gonna win by they needed to win by six, then if you were to bet that team, they may only have to win by two. But you have to hit all three of the bets to win the bet the main bet. Does that
make sense? Okay? And some people think they're suckers bets because they look really cool, like you can get a bunch of you know, you pick a bunch of dogs who may lose, but you'll still win because they get a crap ton of points. But that's for you to decide. So when you put those together, what some of these betting sites will do is they'll suggest parlays and you don't even have to think about it. You can just
click on it, man and wager your money. And the parlays could be all right, all teams from Florida, right, and then there'll be three third but again you have to win all of them. So at one of the parlays the Draft Kings posted was the never forget nine to eleven parlay. We've talked about this. Never this is not a good idea. I understand. People go, hey, you get Memorial Day, they got mattress sales and all this, and you could argue that that's disrespect, but it's just
it's a too soon situation. It's like a like a June teenth parlay. I don't believe that would go over well. So with nine to eleven, Draft Kings said, if you want to bet for the Mets to win, the Yankees to win, and the Jets to win, click this button and you can bet. But the fact that it was a nine obviously New York teams, the fact that it was a nine to eleven parlay, A lot
of people got really upset about that. Plus you wouldn't have won. The Jets did win, but the Mets loss and the Yankees Boston game, I think they had to that's today right, they had a postponent, but it won't matter because the Mets lost. I did look it up, but yeah, the Draft Kings has now apologized the statement sent to the Boston Globe. Here, we sincerely apologize for the featured parlay that was shared in commemoration of
nine to eleven. We respect the significance of this the day of our country, and especially for the families of those who were directly affected. Yeah, Ross, would you see what the loading date on that nine to eleven. AD was trying to remember how soon they pulled this. So there was years ago a mattress store. I remember where we loaded at twenty sixties, so it's from well before that. I'm just pointing out it's much closer. So
some local mattress retailer filmed a commercial. Post to think about how many people had to be involved in this, not just the idiots in the ads, not just whoever within the company thought this was a good idea, but also you had to get somebody to film and produce this, and likely you had to you had to deal with somebody to place it on local media, right you had to go through a sales rep of one of the local TV stations, and then somebody had to load it in at the TV station and schedule
it into the log And like all of these people looked at this and went, yeah, that, I'm sure nobody will have a problem for that with this commercial here, what better way to remember nine eleven than with a twin tower sale? Right now, you can get any five mattress or its win price. Okay, all right, so what better way to remember nine to eleven? I don't know. I could think of a few could if I
had to make a list, I could come up with some. But what you have to know is this woman standing between these two towers of mattresses, so you got like on each side of her, there's like fifteen mattresses staffed one on top of the other. That's important because she's got some other people that are going to some other colleagues in this commercial that are going to make their appearance. What better way to remember nine eleven than with the twin towers
sell right now. You can get any size mattress for it, twin price, full mattress, win Price, Tween Mattress, twin Price, King Mattress, swin Price, store lightself all day long, all right. So what you're hearing then is these people fake falling into the towers of mattresses and knocking them down. And I want you to listen to the change in her voice
inflection. We'll never forget so bad, it's so awful. I I just remember as I was listening to it, the way she changes her voice at the end, like she didn't just participate in a goofball commercial pretending to knock over twin mattress towers with with with her idiot colleagues, and then she wants to make it a solemn ending. What better way to remember nine eleven than with a twin tower sale. Right now, you can get any size mattress for it, twin price, full mattress, win price, tween mattress,
twin price, King mattress, twin price. Sore myself all day long. We'll never forget. Oh, dude and Rods. You've seen the video on that too, right, it's just the worst. It's I'm laughing because not because it's other than their own stupidity. Do I find a lot of humor in that. It's it's and it was much closer, much close to the actual event, and everyone there, from the filmer to the editor, to the people taking part, to the TV station word air to everyone went,
nah, it's gonna be fine. Nobody'll have a problem with this. It was like that educational video game company where they produced the Tetris knockoff to teach kids about slave ships. But all the pieces were contorted slave bodies, which is an actual thing that happened. And how many people are involved in the production of a video game. It's not just one dude, right, So I don't know, but I think the only thing that they could compete with
that was recently. Remember it was on Holocaust Remembrance Day the end that factory in the UK to turn. I think the color was purple for it. So the smoke stack of their factory turned purple. Yeah, oh my god, what are you doing? Yeah, they were charting out them. Yeah, and I'll let you figure out the reference there. But yeah, the Draft Kings decided to step in in there. You go, all right, Raced Agick from the Weather Channel. I'm telling you, man, people's brains
just take vacation sometimes. It's just what's crazy at when like twenty But you know, you work in this industry. To produce a TV commercial for a local business, it's not just one person, it's everyone in the commercial, everyone in the business, the fit. You got to get a crew to film. It's sometimes the TV station will do it for you because you're buying
time from him and there that's a whole team. Then everyone back at editing and the seller and like everybody just went not, that's gonna be fine. Yeah, so awful. They work out well. I don't know if they're still in business, but Draft Kings putting together on nine to eleven parlay on New York teams yesterday. Yeah, it's not going well for them. No, definitely not. I'd seen some false rumors going. People are already playing around with number twelve in Green. Oh no, yeah, yeah, the
goat. Can you imagine? You never know? I just just stop it, that's all I gotta say. I know that'd be crazy what I did. He was at the he was at the Philly game. I was sitting up there with Kraft, but they were doing something, and he came down and he had his jersey on, not his pads, but his old jersey for the little commemoration at halftime. And I'm just thinking, you know, you might want to put that, dude in because yeah, but then Jones
almost got it done, but he didn't. So now but he didn't then even you know, and if it's against one of the top three teams in the NFL, then yep, you did okay, but there still a lot of work. Do you want to I dude, I don't. I don't think you want to take the field as a quarterback for the Jets. That's like, that's like somebody getting in Putin's face over in Russia. It's just I can't even imagine though, the emotion because I don't know if you did.
You see the pregame, and I never seen or heard that many people sing the national anthem in a stadium. I mean it was loud and it was that was great. And then the emotion with him coming in and then him getting hurt. Everybody's just kind of like uh. And then the jets tying it, and then the wind and over there. It was crazy. Yeah, you're all right, real quick. On the weather, it just looks yeah, dry today, still warm in the eighties. We'll cool off

news. No, unfortunately went the other way. All right. We were talking about you know, you hear these terms for things like, I don't say they're just Southern because I don't know, I will call it a more rednecky thing, uh, because we do this, we do this crap out west too. But you know, like there's certain terms the pig pick hids kind of that's a Southern thing. But you know, these little cutesy terms
are you know, going mudding? Right? You hear these You hear these terms, and you think, count right, how about a possum yeat? Doesn't that sound like the most southern country thing you've ever heard of? Well, it actually happened in the Southern hemisphere and it horrified zoo goers. According to officials at the zoo in Perth, Australia, A one of the orangutangs
uh and so the Orangutang enclosure. Obviously they have elevated positions, they got trees, but they also have this giant tower built right in the middle of this thing. This giant observation tower like the tower from Lord of the Rings or whatever for them. And that's important because because it is an open enclosure, albeit a one with elevation, sometimes other critters get in there, like that that time where this guy was at the zoo and a lynx was like
eating a squirrel and he's all horrified in front of his kids. In this case, there was a possum in there, and according to people at the zoo, they noticed the awesome trying to climb the tall metal tower to get
away from the orangutang. Well, I guess the possum didn't realize the orangutangs can climb pretty good, and initially the orangutang was trying to hit it with a stick, but eventually as it went up the tower ascended to the top, it got ahold of the possum and yeated it, or if you don't know the word, yeat threw it like a football and literally threw it from one orangutang enclosure, over another enclosure, and into a third one, where
it was picked off by sauce guard. Now I'm kidding no where. Obviously it didn't end well for the possum and everyone's screaming, well it's going on because that's not what they came to the zoo to watch, you know what I'm saying, But a possum yeat man And they're like, dude, how it messed up? Is Australia that not only are all the native animals going to kill you, but like even the imported ones are violent, know what I'm saying. You know, in North Carolina we gingerly lowered one in a
box a few times. I was lost their mark when they freaked out over the possum drop, which they did wasn't a drop, it was like it was like a slow elevator down and then they let it run into the woods. The orangutane threw this thing like he was throwing a deep ball to digs Man. So yeah, when there's a video, but there you go. The possum yeat a new tradition in Australia, I guess among the orangutans. All Right, we gotta roll see tomorrow
