M M. All right, good morning everybody. It is six h seven. It is Thursday here on the Casey O Day Radio program, and um m m. I I saw this link getting shared everywhere. Probably let's see one, two, three, a minimum of three of you send it to me. I think, actually more. I'm not going to scroll through all of it. And I've mentioned on this show that I try to be intellectually honest. It feels very Adam shifty shift from a process standpoint. That's not

a judgment call over the information itself. However, this is the crap in Washington that we just sat through, that we sat through for four years, actually more than that, arguably because it didn't stop once he wasn't in the White House anymore. And I like to see results, all right, So this is this is just one version of it. This is the New York Post FBI tip that allegedly puts Biden at center of criminal scheme, sends sleuths

scrambling around the world. And when I say it's it's got that Adam Schiff vibe, Here's what I mean by that. So, a whistleblower that has apparently come forward and is in communication with a House oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and Senator Chuck Grassley, both Republicans, has prompted a request of the FBI basically that there are certain documents that they need to make available in just under one week's time. May tenth is the deadline, according to Comer. Now

here's the vaguery of this, right, you're getting this vibe here. By the way, we have an anonymous whistleblower who has come to us and it's brought something groundbreaking. If true, the whistleblower tip would put President Biden during his time as vice president, at the center of a bribery scheme that could bring the entire family crashing down, and obviously his presidency. They don't know. Now that's it. That's the extent of the information as the public knows.

So now you have these speculative articles, Well, what is it, what country is it dealing with? What business deal is it? Ukraine? Is it? China is it? And they went through a bunch of them here, potentials, Mexico, Romania, just scrolling here. Basically, um, you know all of the countries where you've heard that Hunter Biden has these sweetheart deals. Ukraine seems to be the most likely going back to various dealings having to do with um, you know, barisma and the investigating. I

remember the Donald Trump. One of the things that he was impeached for is what they claim was him attempting to pressure Ukrainian Ukrainian authorities to investigate Biden. I mean, that would be crazy if it turned out that there was something like this. The problem is there's no there there yet, and I guess

I don't I'm I'm sick of this stuff. If you are a member of Congress and you have information and obviously there look they should invest if some whistleblower comes to him and I don't know who it is and what the background is, obviously you want to comes down to a little bit who is this person. Is this person a twenty year employee of the FBI who held an upper

echelon position and just can't take it anymore. Or is this some guy who throws chicken bones as part of his religion to get mystic revelations that tell the future and or uncover past secrets. I mean, you have to vet that element of it, because remember we've had wholesale scandals that the media just decided were true that uh, you know, in some cases rested on the information but provided by somebody who provably had never met the former. And then insert

who it is, right, the Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Remember the people crawling my Avanati's clients, Oh he was he was running rape congo lines, right, or that that other woman said she was raped in a car. And then they're like, yeah, we can prove you never were around this individual when you say this happened, and she's like, yeah, you

know, just I feel like it happened. You're right, right. So so when you're sitting there and you're saying a whistleblower is going to bring it all crashing down and all that, you sound like Adam Schiff, Am I wrong here? Because I know obviously if if you're out there and you're frustrated with the way that they did Trump, it probably brings you great joy to hear stuff like this. But bring me the meat, you know what I'm saying, Bring me the bring me the details, bring me an actual document,

which that's the other side of this. So you're asking the FBI, which obviously is has demonstrated that they are one hundred percent When you get into the management side of things, bias, right, that's not speculation, that's their own actions proving that. So if there is a mystical document out there that's sitting in a file folder somewhere that Comber and grass Lely are wanting to

get a hold of, and it would one hundred percent prove that. What's just one of the speculation here that after Biden assumed Obama administration's Ukraine policy during his time as vice president, that he, along with his son and his brother were taken bribes to basically push forward what's going on in Ukraine, which if you remember at the time, it was it was not the current president, it was russia buddy Victor Yanukovich, I believe it's his last name,

that's who was ousted. So if all this exists and it's in a file folder somewhere, what do you think the likelihood is that the Justice Department's going to hand it over to Coomer and Grassley. Let me throw that out to you eight eight eight nine three four seven eight seventy four. I just if you have something, get it out there. If you're working on something, work on it, get a hold of it, and then get it out there. But just the scenarios I just describe you as whistleblower, Comber and

Grassley. They're not gonna say what it is, but don't worry. We demanded the FBI turn over this document to us, but they're already making the allegations. What do you think the probability is that this thing that they get ahold of whatever this this file is, and it's not lost or changed or even exists in the first place, But you've already put it all out there. This is this is what I don't understand or am I just? Am I being a party pooper that we gotta get them? Well, just just

so you know you're at them shift right now. Doesn't mean they're wrong, doesn't mean this doesn't exist. And who knows, maybe maybe what they're looking for will will match up against a copy they already have, and if it's different, it'll create its own scandal. I don't know, but I'm damn sick of partisans in Washington, DC running around going, you know, we got it, we got we got a smoking gun. Can't show it to you yet, but trust us, it's pretty good. So anyway that that

so, thank you for sending that. Um, I'll wait till they have something or or a identifiable something's missing. You know, I understand that component of it, all right, eight eight eight nine three four seven eight seven four. We'll start the show there, just so I don't have to get nine more copies of this. Don't worry. We got other stuff as well. We'll talk to uh ah, we'll get the Washington perspective from the former congressman as well, Mark Walker, he'll join us eight oh five. Coming

up on the show. I'll give you a rundown of some of the other stuff as well. We got to get into the new emerging protected class. It's a doozy and ross. Did you see the Nicholas Cage interview with Stephen Colbert? You didn't, So it's quite the claim that Nicholas Nicholas Cage is a strange dude. We can agree on that kind of a strange dude. So he was talking about his first memory, which according to Cage, was in utero. Yeah, I'll give you the details on that as well.

Six nineteen hang on ten years of news twice an hour and smart talk all day WUPTI in the Try and one six one FM Talk in the Triangle. All right, let me throw one email out only because the person wasn't impolite, but does disagree with me. Basically, I let me paraphrase. I'm not going to read the whole thing. Essentially, Trump got investigated, and in many cases it went on and on and on with zero evidence being produced. So the fact that Republicans are fighting back, why would you why would

you have a problem with I don't. I have a problem with if them some idiot in Washington, and I don't care whether it's Adam Schiff or Grassley or any of them, because I don't trust any of these cats coming out and go, man, we got a smoking gun on our political opponent. Don't worry. Well, we'll get it out there and then none of it

ever coming to fruition. I understand the political dirty you know, a dirty tricks agle of it, and I also stand being stymied and gathering information when your opponent is literally in office, and arguably it'll be harder with Biden because

we've seen that in the intelligence agencies. I have no problem leaning in one political direction, but get something, Okay, I don't know what is it you think that you're do you think that because you said it all of a sudden, somebody at the FBI is going to be like, oh, well, we better not cover it up if they were planning on covering it up, if it existed in the first place. No, so don't come out here and be like, I've seen the evidence. It's crazy because I don't

trust any of you. I don't care whether it's you know, Chuck Grassley or Adam Schiff for Hell, Joe Biden, or Donald Trump themselves. I'll tell you what will happen. You're ready. Between now and May tenth,

you're gonna get a bunch of fundraising emails on this garbage. Make them do something if they if they if they want your help, if they want your assistance, if they just need five dollars, which apparently Roy Cooper does every day in my inbox because again I'm on all the mailing lists because I'm stupid. Don't or it's not my real name, it's I'm it's Michael, and then I'm the patriarch of the Hunt family, so Michael Hunt, although Michael's very formal, so I just go by Mike anyway. Um, but yeah,

all I need every every day is asking me for five dollars. And the cat can't even run for governor. Again, they're very concerned about abortion stuff right now. So it's just fyi er um. Yeah, So that's

that's my beef. Okay, if it is what it is, if it is what you say it is, why don't you have the stuff in hand so you can be like, ah, here it is, because all you're doing is telling me between now and May tenth, if there is anything, the powers that be are gonna do everything in their power to make sure there isn't anything. And then the next step, when they don't give you what you want, you're gonna be like our whistleblowers said this and now they're hiding

it. God, send me five dollars. Shut your face. I just can't. Okay, all right, let me let me do this. Let me grab a quick phone call here, Yes, Ken, what's up? Yeah, good morning. I agree with you. I think you keep this

as like a ten footfold distance. And I think it's extremely hypocritical too, that they are definitely the ones running around saying you weaponize the intelligence community a givest us and now we want to use the intelligence community for us, and you know we're gonna get more information from hunter Biden's love child, and that discovery part of signing out how MUCHOS and child support by being able to look into as silences than anything you're gonna hear out of this, uh, the

Senate committee or congressional committee. It's just oh, maybe incredible, you know. I don't, Yeah, I don't. I don't even I don't even trust a paternity court judge unless they do it. I do believe it's just unless they do it. On More, I do believe it. Well, I do believe you got to keep this at arms. This I mean,

this is it just smells weird. Yeah, just you know, do what you're doing investigatively and then come out and and and at that point if you have something be like boom, here you go, or do it on More. I love this new decade on the calendar and celebrating ten years on the air. This is one oh six one FM, Talk in the Triangle and News Talk N four five w PTI and the Triad. All right, we had all sorts of weirdness of the stack today. Did you see the Elon

Musk MPR fight. Obviously you're aware of the beef as his previously unfolded. Basically, Musk labeled the Twitter account of NPR along with various other organizations. He didn't. Now the lie that I see people running around is that he labeled a government run media. And that's not what he wrote. Okay,

it's not what he Uh what did he say? Government affiliated? I think was the first one so government affiliated, and they flipped their crap, right, and then he changed it to initially he initially he changed it to read what some about their funding, like seventy percent of their funding, and then somebody said something and he knocked it down to sixty nine percent. And of

course the entire time NPR are losing their mind over this. Never mind that the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which is the funny mechanism for public radio and television and does provide not the totality of funding but a good chunk of it, is in fact a line a budget line item from the federal government. So it is an accurate description. It is not the same as saying that

NPR is controlled wholly controlled by politicians. Ie you know some of the stuff that you see in the Middle East, Pravda back in the day, a couple of Chinese outlets, RT, the Russian thing, and various others. But to say that part of their funding is correct. So they decided they weren't going to tweet anymore. All PBS also and what CBC, the Canadian

broadcas Hasting Corporation, they all ceased tweeting. This has been about a month, so yesterday Elon Musk said that he might transfer the handle the at NPR to another organization if they're not going to use it, and that of people lost their minds over this. Here's the actual NPR article. Neilon Musk has threatened to reassign NPR's Twitter account to quote another company. In a series of emails sent to this reporter, must said he would transfer the network's main account

on Twitter under the at NPR handle to another organization or person. The idea shocked even long time observers of Musk spur of the moment in a erratic leadership style. Okay, I have a question. If they're not going to use it, how is it that NPR believes that they're entitled to it even if you use it? Even if NPR once a month put a tweet out that said we're not tweeting because they're a bunch of meanings, you'd be you'd be

using it. But if you state unilaterally you're not going to use it, and then you follow through by not using it, it's going to be considered an inactive account. How many how many of you have had an inactive account that ended up getting canceled on a social media or anything for that matter, some website you signed up for, maybe you had like a burner Facebook account, you forgot to use it, and now it's dormant. If you read

the terms of service there, there's usually parameters for this stuff. But MPR feels even though they're not going to use it, that it should continue to exist in perpetuity. No. Now, I did think it was kind of funny because one well, hold on, let me read a little more of this, because I'll give you the example that Elon used and I started busting up. Handing over established accounts to third parties poses a serious risk of impersonation

and could imperil a company's reputation, said social media experts. I can't get the I have a question, how I don't I can't get the at KC O D E A handle somebody else hasn't. Back in the day when they're like, you need to get a Twitter account, I went on there, and I'm like, dah, that one's not available, so I have to do KC underscore ODEA for my personal Luckily we're able to get Casey on the radio for the show account. If so, it mirrors r U R L.

Ross's handle isn't Ross Hayes. I suspect Ross Hayes isn't available, so he had to go with what is your handle because you changed it? Right? Yeah? Yeah, right now it's at Hayes for Sheriff at Hayes for sure. What did it used to? It used to be something else. I am El Burrow. I am Elburrow. That's what it was, which was my masked luchador persona on YouTube. It's a it's a you know, it's a it's a detailed history. I don't want to get into. I

know, I understand. I'm just pointing out that there's not some entitlement to it, and um, like you've had a you've had a Burnerd Twitter account, right, I've had several. Yeah, would some of them be a series of numbers and my name spelled backwards that created one of those, and then there have been multiple issues of those variations of them, but they are not me m m But I believe that an account go bye by Yeah you

never used it. Yeah, companies have to do that because they run on it, right, Like, it's not like they have do the limited space

eventually, also to incentivize. It's also to incentive because here's what they're trying to not in And I'm not claiming that NPR is doing this what I'm about to lay out there, but one of the reasons they do that, and they and they hook them to identifiable information is they don't want people squatting on them, right, So you get these you get these folks whose bread and butter is um. I remember when we launched kat w T KKUM. That

was not the call letters. When we first launched one oh six one, the call letters were w r DU, which is a heritage set of call letters because you know, it's the rock station back in the day and obviously the but and then about five years in the company decided to relaunch wr DU, the old rock and roll station, which was the rock and roll station of the year for Rolling Stone back in the day, like it had history, and it was at that point that the call letters flipped over to that,

and then we got w T KKs our call letters. And I'm telling you this story because when you go back to how long has this station been on the year ten years? Right, the sweepers say ten years, Yes, ten years. But I remember because I was here for launch that we were trying to figure out how to get that RL for the website, and there was a dude who was squatting on it. He owned a bunch of different website stuff and he wanted he wanted a certain amount of money, and

that's not uncommon. And so the social media account, they don't want that. They don't want somebody who owns a thousand of these sitting there and then turning around and trying to shake people down to get them. If you're not using them, they're out there and somebody can pick them up. Now. The example, the example that he gave, because they're like, well,

who else would use NPR. We're NPR. And I would point out out that just because you're an organization with a well known uh you know, acronym, doesn't mean you're safe talk to the WWF. I was just about to say that, yep, yeah, okay, they got it. They got it where they got bested by a panda okay um and and Elon said, well, what you know, maybe I'll give it to National Pumpkin Radio,

which, by the way, that's where you interned, right. It's a great organization and our Pumpkin chunkin Oh my god, the Things of Legend. That's your big fundraiser. Yeah. Man, go out in the field with a big catapult. There, I've met Halloween saying the best. Oh, National Pumpkin Ray. I don't know. There's so many podcasts. There probably is one. Under Twitter's term of service that accounts in activity is based on

logging in and not tweeting. The rule states that an account must be logged in at least every thirty days, and that prolonged inactivity can result in it being permanently removed. So this is NPR trying to lawyer this thing. Well, then they'll change the cos he's not just gonna let you squat on the handle there while you throw this big conniption fit that you and your buddies are.

Here's this again, this is NPR's own article. Any Over, if this is a sign of things to come on Twitter, we might soon see even more of a rapid retreat by media organizations and other brands that don't think it's worth the risk. What is your risk sending a tweet with a link to whatever your latest story is one hundred times a day. You have somebody

on staff whose job it is to do this. Last month, NPR effectively quit Twitter after Muss applied a label to the news organization's account, falsely suggesting it was state controlled. He did not say it was state controlled. He said it was government affiliated and it is. Must has since removed the labels, but the outlets are regionally targeted have not resumed public activity on Twitter. In an unprompted Tuesday email, Must wrote, so is NPR going to start

posting on Twitter again? Or should we reassign at NPR to another company. Must went on to say, quote our policies to recycle handles that are definitively dormant, same policy applies to all accounts. No special treatment for NPR. The threat of retaliation. This is victimhood one oh one. They feel like they're the victim here and and but to be the victim, they have to lie. He did not say you were stay controlled. He simply pointed out

that your fund a portion of it sixty nine. I guess originates from the government, which, when knowing that person, may consider the whether you have entanglements right, because it's all part of judging veracity of what you're saying. And you're one, you're lying. You're provably lying to me in an article right now, So I'm putting that in the kitty. But the other side of it is that's knowledge that would allow me to determine whether I believe you

can fairly cover government, considering government keeps the lights on. Musk has long attacked the media and attempted to undercut the credibility of journalists. I feel like

y'all are doing that all on your own Politico. Politico yesterday put out a fact check claiming that Randy fine Garden, the head of the teachers union, advocated for reopening schools during the pandemic, and then several media outlets jumped on and said, see the teachers the teachers Union wasn't wanting to keep schools closed.

We did, they did a fact check. What do you think under comes undercuts your credibility more writing an article and doing a victory lap about how the head of the teachers union fought to reopen schools during COVID which every parent person thing with a pulse AI for that matter, all knows is demonstrably false, or a disclosure of the percentage of your budget that derives from the taxpayers.

I'll let you ruminate on that. Um. But yeah, they're they're big mad man, and it all could be solved by and and and the other thing is, I don't what leg do you think you have to stand on. You all spent a very long time writing all these articles about how Twitter is a private business, they can do whatever they want. And now they're like, well, if you're not gonna use your your thing, we're gonna we're gonna we'll put it back out into the ethos. And they're like,

no, no, we read dish and we did. That would be extraordinary. Well, it would also be extraordinary for a big, big, big brand that had a Twitter account, which is I would understand if it's like, yeah, a MySpace page right where you walked away because nobody was there. But but for a big brand just to cease utilizing the Twitter account,

that's what's extraordinary. One former Twitter executive was taken aback by the remark, telling NPR that such a threat should be alarming to any business operating on the site, since it indicates that acquiescing to Muss every whim may be necessary in order to avoid being impersonated, what is the whim using it? Using it? This is? I mean when when when you traffic and victimhood, any opportunity you have to take that, you know that that I'm a victim

victory lap. It's amazing how much fun they have with it. And then they go through and they get and they go through and they spend the time here um attempting to under cut the service too, as like I understand your man, why are you there? Then why is that idiot from MSNBC who's so mad that he because he has over a million followers he now has a blue check again, which wasn't across the board thing the must did? Why are all of you still there? Then? Must whose statements to reporter?

Oh? They also pointed out what did he do with the what was it? He changed the email like the complaint email or something. I can't remember what it was. And essentially it was a poop joke. Do you remember that? I can't remember what it was. But anyway, must whose statements the reporters are regularly laced with jokes, insults, or trolling attempts, responded

sarcastically. When asked who would potentially take over the MPR Twitter account, National Pumpkin Radio must wrote, adding a fire emoji and a laughing emoji uh to describe the content of the fictional gourd themed broadcaster. He then added, NPR hasn't tagged as government funded anymore, so what's the beef? In an email sent at two twenty in the morning after the story was originally published, Mosque wrote a message without any text in the body, but the subject line was

you suck ross if you put a fire emoji in it? Man, I mean that's not That's how you know somebody serious? You got the straight fire. You have to add the sirens and the fire in caps. That's what I do anyway. Oh man, what a bunch of a bunch of stick In the MUDs Man six fifty two, Hang on, all right, very chatty caffy. In that last segment detelling the tears the tears people are sending me suggestions National Patriot Radio. I can do that one, but it's just

us talking about how the patriots cheap is that? Is that what your idea? Sir? Because if I'm down with that or do you mean, like, you know, patriotism and stuff, because I think the other one would be better. But yeah, use it or lose it not a tough concept. Hang on, welcome everybody. It is thee I canc O Day radio program. A video's gotta be out of here. I gonna send this to Ross. I hadn't seen the actual video of this, but I did see um a picture of the girl after du do do do? Do? They

just have it in a video? Well, hang on just a second. All right, here's the story I'm gonna set Ross. I'm gonna send this to you. I don't know why they don't have the uh the video here, just so I can. It's on that. So this Heiss High School volleyball. This happened in October of last year. I remember hearing about I had not seen the video. I happen to see the video yesterday. This is during a girls volleyball tournament last month at Highlands High Volleyball Highlands High School,

where one of the players is a biological male. This is in North Carolina. We covered this story. I had not seen the video footage of the girls volleyball match. Emerged in which the player suffered a serious injury after the transgender player spiked a ball, striking her in the head. By the way, the comments on this are crazy. They're like, all I see

is a talented volleyball player and another one whose defensive skills suck. It's estimated the volleyball was spiked at seventy miles an hour, directly into the player's face. The player who was spiked into continues to suffer from long term concussion symptoms, including problems with their vision. And I this is in Cherokee Counties. This is where out west. That's crazy, all right, So we'll link to the story. Why do they not just have the video? That's very

annoying. I'm sure if I scrolled a whole bunch I could find it. Make your life a little easier. She was knocked unconscious, by the way, and again it is high school. High school. Sorry, got a little got a little sidetrack there, So any who, All right eight eight eight nine three four seven eight seventy four. Ross watched the video on that link, and then let me know when you have, because I'm curious your reaction because the first time I saw it went, oh my gosh, that

is crazy. I remember the story, but I've never seen the video. Absolutely brutal. So um, how old were you when you started working? Not at home, I mean away from home, got yourself a job. Depending on which state you grew up in and what era you grew up in, that number could be pretty low. In Wyoming, I don't know what it is now, but you could get a job. There's certain things you

could do at twelve, but fourteen was the cutoff. Incredibly. You can also get a driver's license at fourteen in Wyoming and having a job ticks one of the boxes. It's called a hardship license, and it can be distance that you live, jobs, a variety of things I can make you eligible for that, but that's a terrifying thought of fourteen year old tooling around in

a a two ton truck. That being said, now there's some places where if you're under the age eighteen, you're gonna have a hard time getting a job, let alone if you're you know, under sixteen. But the moment I was able to get a job, so I didn't have to do stuff around the house or ranch or any of that, and potentially could stay in

town a little longer I was. I was all in. My first job was a was bussing tables on the weekends at a restaurant in Buffalo at the Howard Johnson at the hotel there with the restaurant, and then I worked a little bit at our movie theater. But then I got the radio gig at

fifteen, and that's all I've ever done as far as underage stuff. When I was eighteen, even though I was only doing part time radio at that point, I did, you know, roofing and welding and stuff like that during the summer, directional boring, you know, stuff to make money. Though I was, I wanted to get out there and I wanted to do stuff like that, and so I've always had something going on. But I also don't begrudge necessarily somebody who is a teenager if they don't have a job.

I think I think it's a good thing. I think it builds character, and if anything just gives you a little bit of experience, builds a routine, it's probably helpful as you grow into an adult. However, this is pushing the envelope just a little. A recent investigation into child labor violations in Kentucky Indiana, Maryland, and Ohio has found three franchises out of sixtyes, so this guy they owned sixty McDonald's and three franchises were spotlighted for the

purpose of this story. Basically, the majority of the violations were excess hour violations or time violations for underage workers, so kids who are under the age of eighteen and in their in their requisite states of Kentucky, Indiana, Maryland, and Ohio, there is a limit on the hours they can work, right, so I don't know exactly what it is, twenty twenty hours or

something, and the hours of the day they could work. In many states that cut off is ten o'clock and it may fluctuate depending on the time of the year, basically when schools in session and when it's not all right, So they were that's what they were looking for. That's why they did these investigations because with it being more and more difficult to hire people in these fast food jobs, they have seen an increase in people violating the rules and working

kids too long according to state law or too late in the day. However, it's what they found at three of the locations, and specifically one in Louisville, which is the reason that we're doing this story. According to investigators from the Department of Labor, at one Louisville McDonald's location, two ten year old children were working and they would work a full forty hours up to and including until two am. They had ten year olds working back of house and

McDonald's who shift ran till two in the morning. First, let me say, those are some industrious kids right there. I'll give him that, But this isn't Oh he's got twenty and a half hours labor, Violet, you

have ten year old how does that happen? Now? Specifically, as you can imagine, the kids were related to a McDonald's employee, and in this case it was the night manager who was having trouble staffing, right, so they were not able to staff, and they got the bright idea that, well, you know, I got some kids and put them on his employees to work. Obviously, which is a violation not just of labor laws but also the franchise agreement with McDonald's, as you can imagine, So they put

a statement out. The franchise in this case is facing a combined total of penalties in excess of two hundred thousand dollars for the child labor violations. Too often employers failed to follow child labor laws to protect young workers, said Karen Garnett Sivils, the agency's Wage an Our Division District Director. This is DJ or excuse me, d OL, Department of Labor. Under no circumstances should there ever be a ten year old child working a deep friar. Well,

I don't know kids like French fries. By the way, why do I assume that these ten year olds probably would be able to give me dark meat chicken at KFC? And they're ten? If you didn't know that, I told the story that X I went, I went to get chicken, ordered dark meat. Dude set me up with a mix of white and dark and then when I said no, no, no, I ordered dark meat. Proceeded to take dark meat out and keep the white meat. And it was like, how do you not know the parts of a chicken? You work

at KFC? I feel like these ten year olds probably should get it. According to investigators, the ten year olds worked not just the deep friar, but also we're working the grill. Uh jeez, man, Lincoln's how old? Eleven? Right? See eleven? Now? I can't remember how old. He just turned you get eleven, and he doesn't have a full time

job yet. What the heck, man, that's why you have all those you know, back in the day, that's why you would have all the kids mostly for in an agricultural setting, so you essentially have ranch hands you can force to work. So I don't know, man, but I remember, you know, they always try to tweak these laws in some of the proposals over the years have been very impactful in threatening the ability to essentially turn your children into a slave labor around the old family homestead. So but yeah,

deep prior McDonald's, dad's gonna be a problem, all right? Eight eight eight nine seven eight seven four. Did you watched the video? By the way, we're able to watch it, all right, so some of you have, let's grab some call it's crazy. We retweeted the story. You can go check it out. I had not seen it again. I remember the story. I remember it happened in North Carolina. But what blew me away is a picture I saw this of the girl post getting whacked in

the face and it was brutal. Man. I had to track it down. The Daily Mail article for some reason, didn't have the video. But I found it on Twitter. Okay, yeah, it's brutal. It's and leading up to the to the spike or whatever, there's no doubt in your mind who the other who the correct transplay? Yeah, no, it's it's one of these people doesn't belong. That thing's whipping. Man. I was reading all this up to the ways this girl's impacted. It's it's Kenny.

You know, she probably loved to play volleyball. And that was it, man, that was That was the totality of her volleyball career done. You know, one spike and these people are like, oh wow, maybe she should learn how to play defense. Are you serious right now? Tom? What's up? Yeah? So Megan Kelly interviews this girl on her podcast It's a really good podcast. She also interviews an amazing young woman on the same

podcast from Ireland on a you know, same topic. But anyway, this girl gets this ball spike in her face and she's out for you know, a few seconds, and she comes to and the first thing she sees is the other team standing at her, laughing at her. You know, if getting the ball spike in your faces and enough, wake up to the other team laughing at you and now this person is taunting her on social media after

she went to the speed legislature. You know, oh, I guess I'm all up in your head now, yeah, yeah, no, that would be the lingering concussion symptoms that they're all up all up in the head. There it was. It was again. I hadn't seen the video. I've ember seen the story, and I happen to see the video. Yes, and I'm like, good lord, my podcast is really good. It's definitely worth listening to. All right, appreciate the call there, Tom, Thank

you very much. Jamal, real quick, what's up? You know what, Casey, I saw the video when it first came out. You when that boy went up in the area, you could tell that's a boy when he jumped, he hit that ball and he hit that girl. Those of us who have been opposed to these people for a while saying, hey, they're not girls, these are boys. These people keep telling us, oh, oh, the trans community aren't hurting people. They're hurting a lot of

people. Every time they have physical contact with their female counterpaulish a competition with, they get hurt. These girls get hurt. And as a fat of the daddy, if that was my daughter. I would have made the news because I went out there on that floor, me and him, and been fighting hand to hand combat because there's no way I'm gonna allow a boy to do that to my daughter. And we said this, We told people, hey, this community want more than marriage, just more than a sevens.

No, y'all just going at slippery slope life. This ain't been a slippery slope, casey. This is going down to him a layers on a snowboard. It's um, it's going to happen. We saw some We saw some schools that have now decided that they're just simply not They're not They're gonna forfeit their masters masses or masses matches and not play teams. Um where this is

the thing. And I think you're going to see more in more of that, and of course inevitably it will result in lawsuits and Title nine investigations, which is ironic considering what Title nine was intended to do. But um, yeah, this thing's gonna pick up steam. Jamal. I appreciate the call this morning, no doubt in my mind. But yeah, yeah, you saw people didn't want their kids playing football. This is volleyball, man, and that that girl's probably never going to be the same, judging by what

I was reading there. All right, anyway, it's a seven twenty two hanging You're Day Smarter and celebrating ten years of keeping you better informed. One oh six one FM Talk and News Talk five WPTI more with Casey starts. Now, well, that's just corporate greed right there. If you got ten

year olds work in the fry the fry machine at mcdone. And then I remember the Chicago Cubs hired a twelve year old to pitch, so you know, we're a Rookie of the Year. I had to look up what the movie was, and then we bross and we were talking about the basketball version with a little bow. Wow. I thought, I think one of the Home Improvement kids did a football version too, but apparently those weren't real.

So hang loos celebrating ten years of keeping you connected. This is ninety four five WPTI in the Triad and one oh six one FM Talk in the Triangle. All right, thirty five Welcome back, Casey. Okay radio program coming up, Mark Walker, he'll join us. That's about thirty minutes from now Ever you ever checked into a hotel room and just noped right out of there and back and like, no, I'm in another room. Where was?

I was at the Renaissance in Asheville Hotel down there in Nashville, and I go to my room and I walk in and it looked like one of the eighties hair bands. I had had a party in there. And I go downstairs and I'm like and I realized, okay, well, obviously there was a miscommunication with housekeeping in the front desk and she gave me the wrong room.

So I go back downstairs and I remember that I was talking to the chick at the desk and I'm like, yeah, they that room's not clean, and in fact, it's incredibly not clean, and so she gets on a little walkie talk here whatever, but she kind of walks in the back room. I can't hear her, and she's like, well, sir, that's the room you've been assigned, so you're gonna have to wait for you don't have to wait for housekeeping going and take care out. I'm like,

what are you talking about. It's like, because it's like five thirty at six o'clock at night, right, it's not one minute after when you're allowed to check in and I'm like, you don't have any other room that there's like nobody in the parking lot. Can I just have another room? She's like, wow, you've already been a sign. I remember. It was just the most in one of the more frustrating conversations customer service conversations. But I already had my money. I think I had. I think I'd booked

and paid for it on one of the travel sites. I didn't even book it through Marriott, which is the they run the Renaissance hotels, and nah, she went out there, and so I'm like, well whatever, put my bags back behind the desk, and I walked over to there's like a cocktail bar restaurant kind of near where that's at, and I go over there and I'm over there for like two hours. I come back. It still hadn't done anything with the room, and I'm like, well, this is

dumb. So I've said I'm gonna try to find another room, and they're like, well, we have a twenty four hour cancelation. It was just the weirdest thing. So eventually they do clean the room and I go up in there and it smells horrible, just horrible, and I can't figure out what the heck's going on. I'm telling you the story because wait till you hear what happened to this dude. And I'm trying to figure out what it's

like. Um, what was that Ocean's thirteen where they were they put all that horribleness into that dude's room, who's the reviewer for the five Diamonds award. It smelled roughly like that, and so I'm trying to seek it out. They had cleaned the room, so I couldn't comprehend how the maid had

cleaned the room and didn't figure out what the smell was. And I go over and I opened the closet and they have one of those little fold things that you put your luggage, and it's got extra blankets and pillows on it, and the smell's coming from there. I lifted up and somebody had vomited all over in there, and they failed to clean it. And I'm telling

you that because in this case, this dude checked into a hotel. He was in there for several hours, but said that eventually the smell became so overwhelming he started to look around and lo and behold, he looked under the bed and there was a dead body in there. Yep, he said. At first when he checked in, even with the overwhelming smell, he assumed initially that maybe his shoes stunk, so he actually took a three hour nap. So he took a nap over this dead body which was under the bed.

Eventually, the man who says he doesn't like confrontation did notify the hotel and of the smell, and it was at that point they discovered that there was a dead body. What kills me is they don't actually say how the dead body ended up there. So I guess I'll just be happy with. Unfortunately, what I had to deal with, all right, us the name of the hotel. Well, anyway, all right, I wanted to get

these two articles in, so let me get into this other one. The the scores for eighth graders for math history things along those lines obviously took a

hit post COVID. However, one of the most disturbing trends, which actually was something that initially was a problem back in the nineties and school districts around the country had attempted to remedy and the numbers were moving in a more positive direction, continues continue to be a problem, even though math scores are starting to recover as a national average, and the Department of Education apparently as clueless as to why this may be. So I thought maybe we could solve the

mystery because I have some thoughts. So eighth graders have the lowest US History score ever for the twenty twenty two school year and the lowest Civics score ever, according to a new report by the Department of Education, Yes, the federal History and Civics testing data, the first that has given been released after COVID, shows that over the last few years, all progress that have been gained since the mid eighties, when an emphasis was put on increasing eighth graders

knowledge of history and civics has been washed away. In fact, only thirteen percent of eighth graders currently meet proficiency standards for history and Civics, and basically proficient means that students can explain major themes, periods, events, people, ideas, and turning points in the nation's history, and currently only one percent of students are rated as what is considered advanced. All right, so how

do we get here? How do we get here? And the remedy that I saw in this article from some of these folks over the Department of Education is that the testing that is utilized to determine proficiency needs to be updated to better reflect the current trends in history and civics education. So let's parse that statement real quick. What the hell does that mean? And I think what

it means and you're probably onto this as well. What they mean is kids are going in and they're getting sixteen nineteen and then when they go test this stuff, they're testing for traditional history and civics. So instead of hey, George Washington, one of the examples they gave where the only fact about George Washington that was part of the test that the majority of students did know is that he owned slaves. The vast majority of students did not know that George

Washington was a military general. They didn't know he was a president of the United States. However, less than half the kids were able to correctly identify him as the first president. These are eighth graders, and I liked history from a little kid up to now I'm a history nerd. I cannot fathom being what how old is eighth great was that twelve thirteen? I can't fathom being a thirteen year old and not knowing that George Washington was the first president.

My son knew that George Washington was the first president before kindergarten. Your boy has he? Lincoln can tell you what day of the week, a date in history that is correct, right, But when it comes to the when it comes to presidents, that's like one of his, that's like one of his his things. He used to be, Yes, the flash cards.

I mean it moves on from different things. So, I mean, I don't know if he would still be as proficient as he was, but there was a time where he could give you the order of the presidents. Can you how far up the order can you get Washington? Pretty damn far? Yeah. And more importantly, the questions that they're asking these kids are not like, you know, give me the inauguration date of George Washington, which I frankly I don't know what that day is, But it's just like

which president was he? Can you imagine being thirteen and not knowing he was the first president, but knowing that he owned slaves. Yeah, the issue is here. You don't this so you don't need to update the tests, You need to update the teaching. Right, So we have an expectation that people are going to know these things. They're not being taught them. Obviously

they're being taught. They're being absolute bullcrap. Yes, And then when they don't actually passed the history test, which involves actual real history, they're like, what happened? I don't know, well, because I see this BS argument where they're like, well, you know, they don't want to teach. There's part of it. They don't want to teach the good stuff.

You know, there's room to teach all this stuff. And I don't necessarily disagree in many instances, if you're not changing it and you want to be more comprehensive, teach the good and the bad, I mean, but that's what they always did. This whole argument that that slavery in the history of reconstruction and all of this wasn't taught as complete bowl right. So yeah, we grew up in you know, post MLK junior nineteen eighties and nineteen nineties.

It was all part of the curriculum. It always has been, and we always learned about the Civil War, We learned about reconstruction, we learned about Jim Crow, we learned all about this stuff. We this civil rights movement, it's always been part of it, and they try to make this argument as if it wasn't. It's always been what are you talking about? Yeah, it's but it sounds like now you want you're jettison all the basic stuff. I mean, now, again, we did learn about that.

We spent an obviously a lot of time talking about the western expansion, just being out west, right, and um, we've very much learned about the good and the bad. Right. We learned about the displacement of Native American tribes, treaties that we ever decided we were going to follow through with wholesale slaughters of individuals, I mean really, you know, the dark stuff. And we learned about also manifest destiny and the expansion westward of the railroads,

cattle barons, all this, and it was very comprehensive. So you know, this garbage while they're duly teaching the goods stuff. No ide Washington own slaves. Here's a fun fact too. He was legally obligated that he couldn't free his slaves against the law in Virginia. There's a fun history thing if you want to include it, and he wanted to. It's in his diary.

But I had somebody argue with me on Twitter that they're like always different when like I'm super I mean I'm old, but they're like I'm super old. It was different when you when you were in high school there was an African American history. I'm like, yes, there was. I took it in nineteen ninety four. I was the only white kid in the class took that. That was a thing. We took the year long course. So don't give me that ball. It's always been taught. What we were not

taught is this critical race theory. Once again, I want to say we're other than bullcrap bs right, that whites are completely responsible for all the tragedies and all the horrible things in the world, like and that you're bore. You're boy, it's like you're born in sin, you know. I just I can't even Yeah, that's what we weren't taught. We weren't taught critical race theory. We were taught the actual history of the country in regards to

slavery. I'm looking at some of these other This whole thing's embarrassing. I'll get to more of it in a moment. Race age IX just patiently right, Yeah, no worries. Kids are just getting dumber. I feel like the guy. I feel bad for the kids, man. Yeah, and I mean only you and I know that Millard Fillmore was the thirteenth President of the United States, Right, Why would you were saying that, I don't know. I figured i'd give you an interesting fact, so then you were

bringing up president. So anyway, Well, the majority of kids in eighth grade don't know that George Washington was the first president. How does that happen? I know that's said. Yeah. The truth is, I knew a lot of president history, but just for some reason, thirteen stuck out in my mind. Race Aging's passion. I've got a room that cosplays cosplays. Yeah. Well, you know, the weather's gonna be good next few days. We'll see a little more cloud by tomorrow. A low seventies today for

most. Um, a little cool to us this morning, though there is some frost a west of the try it and those numbers will come up at night too. And then a weekend we'll have some showers thundershowers around. Next week's gonna have a look and feel of springtime temperatures in the eighties, and maybe even each day we'll have a threat for showers thunderstorms during the afternoon.

Hours. Okay, all right, we'll try to hit you on time next time thirteen, No problem, all right, you get us some more Millard film or fun factions and we'll talk to you. Sounds a good. All right, hang on show. After the show's on the iHeart Radio act. Search case O Day for the podcast on the iHeartRadio app. All right, seven fifty four case O Day Radio program. Yeah. So we had we

had, um j junior sophomore year of high school. American history is one of the required I also took a Western history class and it was Here's what was interesting, um, it was the part where they talked about the establishment of the frontier forts, including Fort phil Kearney, which was the closest one to where where I lived, which was also the base that Custer was based

out of. And we did the whole thing where they talked about essentially them clearing that route, this connectivity on the Bozeman Trail of Native American tribes there, including essentially running the Crow Indians from the foothills there are the big Horns up to where currently the reservation is up by Harden and where Custer's last stand and all that took place, and what was awkward is like five of the

kids in my class, or Crow. So I was talking about that African American history class right nineteen ninety three, nineteen ninety four freshman year was the first ever African American history class, asking to the high school. I was the only white kid in the class in the first day. Mister Yetwin rolls out of the TV and we start watching Roots, and I can tell you I was uncomfortable. I was there, man, I know, I think

that's a fine name I with what you know. Jeez. It was interesting because I told one of my one of my very good friends, Travis Crow. It's still still a good buddy of mine. And uh he's funny too because him and I would have this whole rapport because my family it goes back to like one of the you know, first wagon train families to settle out there. So I wasn't there, but I do have the name of somebody

who was there kind of stuff. And it was interesting because they're showing us actually how they were clearing the area, and uh, they signed two treaties I can't remember what they were, and then they basically just wiped their butt with them. And then we get to the part where Custer decides he's going to go out to Harden to deal with some issues and they got massacred up there, and uh like Travis and his buddies were looking pretty smug. It

was funny. Uh. And I remember after the class too, he's like, yeah, yeah, we got that one. But but that's also when you could literally have those conversations with people, right, you could, and and you know, I just love to lap it up. Meanwhile, you're sitting there watching LeVar Burton going, oh, it was a fascinating course though. Man, it was. I get straight Ason, I got. I enjoyed the course. It was. It was because I'm a big fan of

history and I want to know every part of this country. I want I want to know the good, I want to know the bad. And but this argument that it hasn't been taught in the past, and you're seeing it down in Florida now today, right, is it gets garbage. It's not true. Well, they I don't know what they're teaching. They're not teaching the stuff on the test questions. I'll tell you that I was, actually I was. There's an article here where they have some of the questions.

Why were European explorers trying to sail rivers like Henry Hudson did in the sixteen hundreds. They were trying to find a water. Essentially, they spent years trying to find a water passage through this land. So which is the following? Is a right guaranteed by the Bill of Rights? Public education? Healthcare? Trial by jury? Or vote? Trial by jury? Those people think voting's in there, it's not. I mean, these questions, these are

the harder ones in this little article. They're fair. But man, if you don't know George washing was the first president, you're not getting the rest of this stuff. I feel bad for the kids. Man. All right, Mark Walker, we'll join us next hang on here on your Thursday Haco Kay Radio program. We wait. We got a lot to get into and to help us get into it. Former Congressman Mark Walker joins us this morning.

Mark, How are you doing thing, sir Okathy, I'm doing good, of thinks back in North Caroline. Don't think that's the first time in a few weeks since we've talked. I've been back home. But we're doing well. How are you doing well? It's too bad. I'm good. It's too bad because I was gonna get a little echo return on your phone there. Okay, there we go. Um, Mark, I'm gonna put you on hold because I'm getting a echo on this phone line. So um, okay, let me try something here real quick, we pick up the

line. Maybe I'm the only one hearing it, all right? Uh are you there? Okay? Well, no, we're good now. So whatever it was, Uh, somebody sabotaging your interview. They don't want you to They don't want people to know the truth. Mark. Um, that's exactly right. All right, So boy, where do I even start? Yeah, I'm gonna start with the story I started on this morning, and people are they're not happy with me, but I really don't care. I don't

need to watch the Republicans turn into Adam Schiff. Here's what I mean by that. And one of these guys I think is your buddy. So, um, maybe you can help me. Uh. Story FBI tip that allegedly puts Biden at center of criminal schemes sends sluice uh scattering around the world, right, And basically it's this whistleblower tip about a quote document that allegedly puts President Biden at the center of a bribery scheme. This was being discussed by

James Coomer and Chuck Grassley. Comber chairs the House Oversight Committee, by the way, and they don't say what what country even they don't say what it is. They simply said that the FBI they requested a document from him. They have tell May tenth to turn it over. But don't worry. They have this anonymous whistleblower and it's really really bad and we should just believe them, and they may be one hundred percent right, but you still have to

get the FBI to turn this thing over. I don't I don't buy this whole theory of a smoking gun. Just sitting there. I think things are way too complex when you get up to the upper echelands of politics. But I get these vibes of all the stuff that I hated to see during the Trump administration, with people like Adam Schiff going, oh, no, man, no, we got we got collusion evidence. He's in manaturing candidate. I've seen it. It's really bad. And I'm just to the point where

I don't care what side of the aisle you are on. Put up or shut up, and don't bug me until you do. Because all this is going to be is a week long fundraising thing for Republicans. So am I am I just so jaded? I need to I need to take a break, or is I was? What do you think of this? So? I don't completely disagree with you, but I do think there's a touch of cynicism or jaded that you're using, because it's it's the adage a fool me

want shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. And I and I get where you're coming from, and probably many of the American people. Look, we've heard this story. You've told us that there's this. You know, this has been going on since Lois Learner and geta recutting everybody else. So if you're going to try to engage me to get excited about it or our sending campaign dollars, you know, uh, what's the old movie Show Me the Money? So that that that part of it I do

get. However, there aren't different moments when there just seems to be a little bit of different energy around this, and specifically when when when you're getting the senators involved as well not saitting the house, it gets a little eager, but you know that there is a lot more fervor on the House side. So when Chuck Grassley's involved, and I think it's what they call an FD ten twenty three, which gives the FBI director I think, approximately one

week to turn over the specific documents and all. It all comes down to the credibility of this whistleblower who is legally protected. But for I do agree with you, is like, look, just don't don't come out and be in the a block of all the media chet until you've get something you've not even seen, specifically the document that the FBI allegedly has. So when you do that, then you come and tell me, hey, this is the smoking gun. Joe Briden was vice president, he was involved in this illegal

scheme operation. Otherwise it's just continue to be smoking mirrors a little bit. But Evan said that they're different from the guy to talk with. There seems a little bit more energy around this particular situation. Grassly said, and I'm going to quote here this is the description we have. The tip involves quote an alleged criminal scheme involving then Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to a change of money for policy decisions, which I you know, as with

all of the Bizma stuff and the big guy and the ten part. You know, all of these little things. If there is going to be a scandal, this is what I would think it would look like. But we don't even know the country. And frankly, do you trust the FBI to

comply wholehearted or withness? No? No, And that's and that's the part where I said, I look, I respect your cynicism and are your Jada point of view on this because you've get you've get these factors involved, these weak leaks in the chain that first of all, they already had something like this. You know that they would either come clean with it or there's some intentionalities they didn't want to come share it. So just because you're throwing over

to the FBI's okay, you gotta wait to give us this information. It's not as simple that. There's lots of complexities and complications with this because you're dealing sometimes with the various factors who are in these agencies trying to protect this administration. We have seen this in multiple instances with Hunter Biden, etc. Now or I do like this investigations. As despicable as Hunter Biden is, he was not elected Joe Biden was the vice president of the United States.

So if there is a pay for play in this aspect, which is highly illegal, which is treason us, then I think this is something that at least you've got to chase this trail specifically with all the other different things. There are five bidens that documented that have taken millions of dollars from different things. I'm hearing close to eight to twelve. Five have been documented. But we want to make sure because what happens, it becomes a credibility issue.

Not with our wonderful hard right fur it Republican base and God bless the folks that are out in the front lines, but but like it North Carolina, for example, of the registered voters or Republicans, how do you get the rest of the world to pay attention to this or the rest of the attention to pay attention to it? You do it when you come with credibility. Here's the facts, here's what happened, here's the country, et cetera,

et cetera. Let's say that they did have something. Let's and I'm just gonna plug in play because again we don't know, we don't know what it may be. But Let's say that it is Ukraine, which is I guess probably the most likely. So let's say it's Ukraine and it's during that transition time with the former president of Ukraine who was basically a Putin puppet who was then outs didn't we get the current current president and it had to do with

access for the purpose of energy policy or whatever. But basically, well, we'll push a policy decision and this will enrich a bunch of people over there, and then we'll get these these dollars for consulting. Right, let's say it's everything that they promised to be. One of the things Trump was impeached over was asking Ukraine to literally pursue this investigation. So what even happens if

that does prove true? Are they even like, do you think that it's too partisan to actually out to president if every single piece of that was proven true? No, I don't think it's We're living in new day and age. I mean, we've never had a president peached twice over partisan lines. And if this is true, the take of this zoom out a little bit. Seventy percent of the country do not believe Joe Biden needs to run again. Many if not right on the line of majority of Democrats are having problems

with his reelection. So sometimes even if there's a little bit of gray area, and this could be the smoking gun, I don't want to discount that, But there's different motivating factors for going after people. All sometimes you need is a little bit of evidence and the Kirsten Cinemas and the Joe Mansion,

who I think's got his own plans coming up soon. Uh, it wouldn't take a whole lot to move the needle to get the majority in both the houses there and that you know it happened with the majority of the House, isn't the problem. You know that it's not about the House, correct They can get that. It's the Senate and they need they need more than just Mansion and Cinema to come over. They're going to need at least ten others.

So correctly, yes, no, So no, you're you're right, But there's there's a lot of a lot of those folks and not saying it's all politically driven, but I know Washington well enough to know that it's all about benefiting yourself and whatever that might be. If there's a push to you know, we don't need an eighty two year old Joe Biden running again. Uh that there's enough evidence here. Let's sitting in packing and Uh, I mean that this is not out to bounce. I guess to your question,

Yeah, I this is more cynical me. I just I don't know that you get enough Democrats to come over even if even if that was shown. I mean, I could already hear the excuse, Well, he was vice president, he was looking after his kid, who misrepresented what it was. Blah blah blah, you know, all of that garbage. They'll never apologize to Trump if it turned out to be exactly that, obviously. But yeah,

I guess I can see a little of what you're saying. Basically, it gives him an excuse to kick the guide to the curb, but it does irreparable damage to the party apparatus too, And then we have to deal with Kamala Harris's president your god. So but but yeah, no, but but and you're going into a presidential season, so there are no rules as far as pushing somebody overboard. So yes, you need additional Democrat senators.

But if Joe Biden continues to tank, its approval ratings at thirty seven percent if you average across the board. If this is more baggage, it begins to pull him down. Gavin Newsom's waiting end the weeks and chumping at the bits. So I'm just saying this is not outside too far fetched, thinking that if this thing goes south on them, they would do what they had to do to get this guy. If if Jill Biden couldn't talk him out of it or wouldn't want it, they'll still have to be an ability to

be able to do that. You mentioned Joe Mansion and you kind of alluded to it. This is a this is an interesting scenario going on in West Virginia. Obviously he's a Democrat, but he's very popular in previous elections. The problem he runs into now is what's the guy's name, Jim Justice? Right? Yeah, yes, gather yeah, and his bulldog, which everybody apparently loves there in West Virginia. But you know the idea that a Jim Justice could come in there and run against him and likely beat him. Do

you think Mansion may have his hand forced to flip parties? No? No, that ship is sailed. So here's what I think. Course A got a friend Alex Mooney we're anning of that races as well, but who take crews? I believe it's endorsed. But this is going to This is Jim Justice as a race. Mansion knows that he can't win again. Justice has already announced, so he can't beat him. As a Republican. There's really only one avenue that I see, and it kind of reludes back to what

I said not to be too kind of strategical this morning. You don't see Joe Biden doing Sean Hannity because he's he's he doesn't have plans in the future, I think. I don't think it's been solidified. There's there's a group called No Labels that's beginning to grow that has some high end names on it,

former Republicans, former Democrats that I think Joe mansions connected with. So I don't want to get ever ridden by skis here, but don't be surprised if Joe mentioned at some point doesn't announce bigger plans as a Democrat or as an independent independent. Yeah, do you think an independent president could get in there? Every time I ask this, I remember, you know, we independent senators, independent governors. Jesse Ventura ran as an independent take of that

what you will. Arguably, even though Trump ran as a Republican UM, he he didn't sell He didn't smack of standard GOP that may have been the label. But he drew across voters that definitely probably hadn't voted for a Republican presidential candidate in a while. So I don't know. Maybe there's a lot of type for it. Yeah, I don't. I don't know. It's yes, you run on Trump. He drew a lot of union support, blue collar Democrats, at least the first time. Uh. But but here's

here's the problem. It's it's about the money. Are there enough? You know, these major donors, both in the Republicans and Democrats, with these with the fible one force, which is the dark money side of things. You know, is there enough? Is there enough that he can make an effort and make a run and come across this centterest and communicated that way.

Um, that's that's the challenge there. Um. But but yeah, it would be interesting to see who would hurt more more, either Joe Biden or whoever the Republican nominee might be. All right, a few minutes and I want to flip over to a bill and I'm not this if you haven't heard this yet, not you Mark, I know you know, but there is there is legislation that is being co sponsored by AOC, and Matt Gates just let that settle in. And specifically it has to do with stock trading by

members of Congress. And there the story that they're grabbing onto right now is several lawmakers who sold off First Republic Bank shares a few weeks ago. When all of that stuff came to light, Obviously that bank was seized and sold JP Morgan like over the weekend, just boomed on and they're saying, well, this is just another example of them with the inside information. And I think back to Richard Burr too, and Burr going and selling travel stock and

they wanted to make big thing over it. And in both these cases, when you saw that the COVID and pandemic can travel, I mean you knew

what was up. A lot of people sold travel I sold travel stuff, right, So how do we delineate when it's Nancy Pelosi's husband guessing correctly that Navidio was going to have not have be able to get a contract because of their dealings with China, and they short sold those how do you couple that with the idea that you don't want people to come to Congress like yourself? Who I think was what you were the poorest member of the House or something. I'm not picking on market. Yeah, I yes, I had to

title the least wealthy member of one hundred fourteenth class. I work proudly. Yes, But so like if people are not using inside info and they're using basic stuff, it turns in one of these gitshea things. They're proposing that no individual stock could be bought or sold by members of Congress or immediate family members. One do you think that will pass? Two? Is that fair to people who really do not They want to play by the rules, but

they also want to go to Washington to make a difference. I mean you tell me, yeah, Look, this is a tough one because you want to say you should be restricted just because you want to serve, or it's the state house or that in the federal level of Congress, Senate, whatever house or Senate, whatever it might be. But if if there's so much fraud, it's kind of like ear marks. Ear Marks are actually legal by the Constitution, however there was so much abuse with them because Congress had the

first strings that that there were some house rules making those illegal. That's kind of where I think this is because of the abuse. My side of how I would follow this would be like, you know what, if you're going to accept that position, you got to shut it down, turn all your portfolio stock management to an outside company or someone else as opposed to you or

your immediate family member selling and buying these things. I just think that's a small sacrifice that you need to do that weight removes any kind of potential cloud of mischievous behavior. Yeah, I mean, it's it's hard to argue with looking at folks who go to Washington and make ten million dollars on what was what's house salary? Well, there's two thousand, nine hundred seventy four thousand, one hundred and seventy four thousand, and you parlayed it to ten million

in ten years. I mean, incredible. It's hard to argue with that. All right, we'll have to leave it there for now. Mark, I appreciate the time as always, sir, and we'll be back at it next Thursday. Okay, sounds good. Take care Casey. All right, there you go. Former Congress of Mark Walker here on the case O Day Radio program allots to get to in our final half hour, hang on, what a new decade on the calendar and celebrating ten years on the air.

This is one oh six one FM, Talk in the Triangle and News Talk ninety four five w PTI and the Triad. Oh my goodness, welcome back everybody. It is the Cacoday Radio Front. This story is crazy, this and this will go right along with um the whole kids don't know anything about

history thing. This is from NBC News. A new study conducted by the nonprofit Asian American Foundation found that forty four percent of Americans can't name a famous living Asian American, which is deeply ironic when you really think about it. All right, so let me let me go to it, because they asked a few questions. They asked that. They also asked them to name a famous living Native Hawaiian or Pacific islander, which they don't have a problem there.

But let's just let's get in on this, all right. So what do you think was the number one answer given? Well, the number one I'll tell you the number one answer. The number one answer was, I don't know. I was gonna go Bruce Lee, Hold on, hold your horses. This is famous living Asian American. The number one answer given when other than I don't know Jackie Chan, who is not American. He is Chinese. Yes, he is. Number two Bruce Lee. So who's who's been dead for what fifty years? No? Man, I saw him in

that commercial where he's hitting up ping pongs with the nunchucks. Oh that's yeah, it's definitely really he was very good at that. Yeah, that's that's the one hundred percent true. Right do people think that's they do? Like, the video is constantly showing up on social media, but like, could you believe how amazing he was? Like yes, So, like it's a c G. I add for like Apple from like ten some years ago. A number three, well technically number four, but where they actually did give

a name. So the first two. No, Jackie Chan is Chinese. Jackie Chan, by the way, I did see this has the most positive score of any major film actor. Did you know that of likability score? Yeah, it's very hard to hate Jackie Chan. All right, so Bruce Lee obviously doesn't count either. Not living. Number three and one in the highest ranking correct answer is the Vice President of the United States some of these other ones are crazy? All right, Um, all right, who else

do you think is on this list? Who else did at least? I mean, I'm sure they didn't put all the answers, but some of these are pretty interesting. What about loudmouth George Decay? So he is, He's very far down though, But yeah, I figured a lot of people would go Sulu. I figured that that actually would have been towards a little further to the top. But all right, other that's the other ants. Like the amount of dead people that are on this list is that is crazy to

me. Margaret cho is on the list. Yeah, I'm assuming she's still alive. I guess I haven't checked in on Margaret Chow in a which James James Hong has got to be in the list. James Hong is on the list, and he is American, and he's been in like ninety five percent of every movie ever made. Yeah him, and um, yeah, I can't. I saw it was like six hundred. He's got six hundred credits

on IMDb or something. Yeah, if you go back and watch any Acts movie from like the eighties and nineties and like that, it takes place in like Southeast Asia, he's gonna be in movie. John Cho you know John Cho is right? Yeah? What about Bobby Lee? I don't see I don't see Bobby Lee on here? Oh this is Ri. I just noticed this. Oh, Asa Akira is on the list. You know who that is. First name is spelled Asa. Last name is spelled A K, I R A Ross. Google that will you do? I want to?

Yeah, I just on my phone or on a company like I have a feeling some bad's gonna pop up. I would do it on your I don't trust you. I would do it on your Is this a porn Is she a porn actress? Yes? She is? Oh good lord, I'm deleting that from my history. What a hell you're at? Like, even if you could think of that, wouldn't you be a little embarrassed being like, oh I got one the famous porn actress? Oh my goodness. Let's see

here, all right? So, when asked to name a famous living Native Hawaiian or Pacific Island or American, who do you think the number one choice? It's got to be the Rock. It's the rock for days. Yeah, everyone went with the Rock. In fact, the next bit, the next vote getter a top vote getter was Don Ho, who's dead and died like twenty years ago. The fact they named Bruce Lee. I swear to guy man, everyone under thirty is an idiot. Number three on the Pacific

Islander A Jason Momoa. Oh there you go. But yeah, now the rock was pretty all right. This is interesting. They study also found that only eighteen percent of Americans um knew what career I guess, um, what role is the most has the most Asian representation for men and women. So when when there is an Asian actor actress on screen, what career, respectively is the most represented? What do you think it is for Asian men? What do you think number one would be? Ninja, kung fu or martial

arts people. I'm just being stupid. I'm trying to be funny. These people are being serious. What do you think it is for women? Geisha? I know, yes, shut up, Gotti, Geisha, sex worker, stripper. I couldn't been more ridiculous of my answer. They can't be serious. They're dead serious, man, They're dead serious because this is this is obviously an organization that's promoting the interest of Asian Americans, and they're pointing.

They're doing this to point out that people are stupid and are well and they obviously they've achieved that goal and they really don't understand this. You know, he's not on this list, and you mentioned at off there Tiger Woods, he would qualify. He's got one Asian parent. Former Governor Nicky Haley not on the list either. Lucy lew is on the list. Okay, well that seems like a good gimme. That's crazy man. You know, Oh you know who else not on the list? Pime, don't see it

here? Ah, I idiocracy, we're all in man. Tip springs up a good point on Twitter. What about Biden? He grew up in an all Asian neighborhood at one point, right, was it an all Asian neighborhood? I think he I just think he's like the entire gamut. You just he did make some other claim the other day. It was like, come on, man, you know that's not true. Oh uh, let's see here. Oh you know it's not on the list. Mitchell McConnell's wife. See look at that. All right, so everyone's dumb. I guess that's

the takeaway there. All right, let's stay race agent with Millard Fillmore cos player dude, we're yeah, so did you hear this? This is what I was just talking about so late. So they did a study and they asked him, I'm gonna hit you with the questions real quick. So we got time. What name one famous living Asian American? Asian American? Yes, Um, I'd have to ask me that one for because it's the question

they asked people. It's the point of the story. Um, off the top of my I'd have to think I could think of one, though, go on to the next Connie Chump who All right, I'm assuming, I mean that's well, no, here's what's crazy that. The number one answer was I don't know. The number two answer was Jackie Chan, who's Chinese. The number three answer was Bruce Leeve's been dead for fifty years, right

right. And the first, well that's for the number one answer that was actually correct with six percent of respondents was the Vice president, who's who is half Asian? Right? Um? And I didn't know that, And she only got several percentages higher than Asa Kira, who's a famous Asian porn actress.

So I don't know what kind of pers they're interviewing. And then they also asked the name of the name of famous living Pacific islander and that one people got is the Rock, right, everyone knew the Rock, so oh, I wouldn't have got that either, So you see, you kind of you kind of went into like at least nationalities of I'm not good at that. But then the ned the number two hands. You got me don Ho, who's been dead too for a while. So I mean, well you

got to be on the first one. I just so I fail. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I guess I should. You should google that, just check check my work, so do it on your com it'll be fine. Yeah. Wait, so let me just send me a screenshot of the a one of the ABC stations. Here. They got stormtroopers and stuff doing like weather. Would you trust a weather forecast from Darth Vader Um, No, that's certainly not. Nope, Ross, I mean he couldn't get anything. That man's doing on a on a on a doppler so hot in this

planet though, what is him? He says, We're gonna be fine. Yeah, it got really hot real quick to trate that. So yeah, yeah, so no, I could never trust anything that, you know, the theater does. Everyone's gonna have their Star Wars nerd holidays. So what are you gonna they do? They do what they do. What I'm gonna do is podcast, not from me. Yeah, I mean, I'm not gonna force anything on you here. We'll just play the way it looks,

and it looks great. It's a little cool this morning, upper sixties, low seventies today, forties tonight, load of mid seventies, a little more cloud coming in tomorrow, and that as we get into Saturday and Sunday, a few showers around at this point certainly doesn't look like a washout, be a cloud sun mix in between upper sixties to low seventies. And we get into the eighties next week and we start talking about a more typical springtime pattern

with some showers and utter showers around. A lot of those will be during the afternoon hour. So I had a little bit of a cool down this week now, modifying temperatures next week probably more like the season spring and feeling more like the first ten days of May than it did this week. All

right, thank you, sir, do appreciate. Okay, I'll let you get back to your fillmore stuff and we'll talk all right, cool cool, and Jeff Bellinger joins us next, hang On ten years of News twice an hour and smart Talk All Day, ninety four five WPTI in the Triad and one oh six one FM Talk in the Triangle, hur Good Morning, eight fifty two Koda Radio programs, Bloomberg Update Now, Jeff Bellinger, What's happened Well, Good Morning, Ksey. Stocks ended the midweek session in negative.

Territory futures are pointing a little bit lower this morning. The Dow futures are down fifty six points at the moment. There was an increase last week in the number of workers signing up for unemployment benefits. It was a little bigger than expected. The Labor Department counted two hundred forty two thousand first time claims, thirteen thousand more than the prior week, and we get the agency's monthly

employment report tomorrow. Companies announced plans to cut near sixty seven thousand jobs last month. That was down from nearly ninety thousand in March, but still up sharply from April of last year. Challenger, Gray and Christmas As. The biggest layoff counts were in the retail and technology sectors. All of the turmoil in the banking sector is not going unnoticed. Almost half of the American adults who responded to a new Gallopole say they're worried now about the safety of their

bank deposits. The level of concern matches or exceeds the two thousand and eight financial crisis. It is the end of the line for a Jenny Craig. It was learned earlier this week that the weight Loss brand was seeking a buyer. Now, a source tells Bloomberg News the company is going out of business. Company owned stores are already closed. Inflation has a lot of workers hoping for hefty raises this year, but employers are focused on holding the line so

employees could come away disappointed. A survey by Mercer found that raises will still be substantial, just not as big as they projected last fall. Now Jones says the bosses are all worried about high inflation or high end interest rates and the possibility of a recession, and a lot of people are living very close to the edge financially. A new survey says most Americans don't have the resources to cover a surprise expense of four hundred dollars without taking on debt. Morning

consult conducted the survey for Bloomberg News. Just over a third of respondents said they would have cash on hand to cover an expense and Casey. When you include people who say they would use a credit card and pay it off before incurring interest charges, the figure increases to forty eight percent, But the other fifty two percent would have to pay interest in some fashion. The country is we're going downhill. Forty four percent of Americans can't name a single famous living

Asian American? Can you nable one? Can? I got to think about it myself. For Michelle woo Is, the mayor of Boston, I'll go with that. There you go, look at Okay, she didn't make the list. The number one answer is Jackie Chan, who's not American, and number two was Bruce Lee, who's been dead for fifty years, so God help us. Third was Kamala Harris, which is a correct answer. So alright, alright, take care of Casey. There you go. Jeff Bellinger,

Bloomberg News, passing the test. I didn't tell him about Assa Kia. I'll send him some links. Hey, you want to hear a headline that's gonna make you lose your damn mind. Okay, it's a long one. There's a lot going on here, so I'll read it twice, try

to unpack as we go. You ready. Trans pedophile who sexually abused her own daughter, age seven, for warped porn videos is now inmate of New Jersey woman's prison despite still having male parts, and wants to marry trans accomplice so they can share us cell, which is apparently a thing that might be able to happen. Trans Pedophile who sexually abused her own daughter seven for warped porn video is inmate of New Jersey women's prison despite still having male appendages,

and wants to marry trans accomplice so they can share a cell. And I guess play house or whatever. What the hell, man, I'm not even gonna get into the just I read a description of what this individual filmed their own daughter doing, and I'm kind of understanding why Florida is like, you know what, maybe we should have the death penalty for people who sexually abused children. Because I gotta be honest, I saw that story. He probably did see it, and I was reminded of a guy interviewed back in the

day. You remember when repressed memories were a thing, and this guy his case was pretty famous. His name escapes me right now, but basically his ex life, her mother, his ex mother in law, and counselor basically concocted this story that his own daughter accused him of doing. He went to

prison, he almost died because they stabbed him in prison. And then as the daughter basically got older, she realized all of this stuff never really happened, and there were a few things that were obviously if the guy's lawyer would have been worth the crap, I would have known that it was bs. But this guy went to prison, almost died because his ex wife wanted to get custody, and this count said that I don't think the wife faced any

charges either, So that's it gives me some pause. But then I read stories like this and I just just makes me glad it shows over for to day because I just go off on the chanson. I counted. By the way, there's ten actors that are all Chinese actors at all, So we're in the top fifty answer on that other story. So yeah, we're dumb, not all of us, but forty four percent of us. All Right, we gotta go see you tomorrow. Everybody
