Remember all right, good morning everybody. It is six o seven. It is Friday, yay, let mean actually be more yea if it was Saturday, it's gonna be honest about this stuff. But you know whatever, gac O day radio program. Hold on, got British Open email? Do do do? Do? Uh? Mitch emailed, yes, Mitch, that is correct. British Open is on, been on since four actually been on since uh closer to like three to thirty this morning. Little little pre coverage there.
Uh With that in mind, I mean, why do we even do radio on this day? Ross? You want to go home, call it a day because everyone should watch British Open. Oh okay, Ross, I'm kind. I can't even right now that I'm missing it. You can't. I can't even right now, can't even what I I just I don't even know, can't function. Kid to the show? Who U? Who are you rooting for? Lee Trevino? That was so fast? Why why would
you say Lee Trevino? But because he's the goat? No? No, no, no, no no no no. Was it like did you read something this morning? Dude? So? Really, the one of the only golf players I know besides Tiger Woods is Yeah, Trevino and Lee Trevina is because I played a golf game on the Nest when I was a kid, Like Lee Trevino had a game the Nests. Yeah, okay, like he's on the cover. It was like Lee Trevino something golf or whatever. Yeah, so that's literally the only name I know. So how was Lee Trevino
doing? I don't I'm asking you. No, no, no, I'm asking you because you're just like a leading the pack. Right what if I told you no? What if I told you don't do it? You don't even know what I'm gonna tell you. He is, in fact not leading the pack. Oh yeah, Harmon's leading the pack. You know that was gonna be my next guest. Really and then Harmon. What is Harmon's first name? You know? Peter m No starts with a B. I'll give you that, Brian. Okay, all right, look at that. You
almost sound like you know what you're talking about. Yeah, it's six under, I think hold on, Sorry, the TV's at a very weird angle, so I have to like literally turn all the way around. I need to fix that. Ah, but yeah, that's going on. So all right, well look, no, I'm sorry I said six hundred, he said eight under it's uh, it's quite the butt whooping that's going on, all right, So Ross wants to go home and see if Lee Trevino wins
it. I'm kind of of the same opinion British Open's on Women's World Cups, going on, what are we even doing? But alas it's Friday and we got to do a show. By the way, I've read three reviews this morning of the new Barbie movie and honestly, yeah, I just excuse me, so they're coughing because I'm laughing. I just assumed it was gonna be dull drums and stupidity, and but like in a good way, just you know, just Hollywood weirdness, because like the whole thing kind of creeps
me out a little. But like I saw a couple of people going, oh, no, the movie's good. So I'm like, well, you know what, maybe I should uh, maybe I should read a review that actually covers what happens in the movie. Have you read any of this? Ross? Have you read an actual rundown of the Barbie movie? Like you have just seen some Twitter posts? Okay, and I don't I don't actually have any way to confirm what I'm reading is true, you know what I
mean? Alright, alright, alright, but what was the um what was the vibe you got from the Twitter post super feminist movie? Ah? Yes, yes, yes, Ken is like they're saying, like borderline autistic or something like he's listen an embarrassment and it's just, you know, a fight against the patriarchy. The entire movie is that, just like a background fight against it. It like literally is a plot point. So like the so
there's two worlds. There's the world of Barbie and then there's reality, right, and like they are able to travel in between would be the best way that I've seen it described. And like, Ken, who is would you say borderline autistic? Judging by the little clip I saw, that's probably pretty accurate. Basically, he like hears about the patriarchy and he's like that sounds awesome. I would love to run things, even though he comes across as a little bit of an idiot, and so he liked he like calls on
his fellow bros To like implement that in Barbie World or Barbie Land. I guess as it's described. And then Barbie and her strong, strong female characters have to like battle against that. This sounds absolutely horrible, it sounds awful. It's just you know what it sounds. It sounds wildly unnecessary, I guess would be the best way to describe that. Like it's it's one thing to have that kind of like humming in the background, because I just assumed
there was gonna be that element right where Barbie is Captain Marvel. Yeah, but you expected it sort of to be in the background, right exactly. I assume there's the Captain Marvel, Barbie's Captain Marvel element, but not for it to actually be the plot of the movie. It's just like, I'm so sad. Everyone sounds strike, I guess would be the best way I
would describe that. So Margo Robbie suddenly finds herself victims to the feeling of the other realm, the other realm being the patriarchy which Ken hear us about and then tries to implement in the Barbie land And excuse me, um, that's where they run from there, and there's there's there's like multiple Kens. It's almost like a Chad situation. All right, you know, let me do this, geez, excuse me, um, let me do this.
I'm literally allergic to the plot. Here, let me give you a rundown of what this movie is supposed to be, what the actual storyline is, as I understand, I have not seen it. I know you're gonna be
shocked. There's a there's a strong chance I don't, but I am happy to share the h the cliff notes with you, and we'll do it next here on the case O Day radio program, Your Day Smarter one oh six one FM Talk and news Talk WPTI More with Casey starts now, no, no, no, no. That's what's so interesting about it, because it used to be if that was even like a single element of the plot,
that would have been the marketing. Whereas now um as, And again I haven't seen the movie, but when I saw people commenting on it yesterday, I spent I don't know, probably twenty minutes or so going out and seeking IMDb's rundown of it and the couple reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and whatnot, because look, Twitter's Twitter, right, and you never know whether it's exaggerated or
not. As best I can tell, the entire plot of the Barbie movie is Ken Ken here, excuse me, Ken, Here's about this awesome thing called the patriarchy and decides they need to implement that in Barbie Land because apparently Barbie and her friends and Skipper running everything and and like that's the plot of the movie. And I have seen a crap ton of marketing on this and I haven't seeing that communicated. I guess is the point that I'm making?
What is uh right? What were you saying? You're uh, we were watching. I can't remember what you were watching, but you know it went it went to commercial, and I think it was a flow and progressive and you know, it's a big Barbie house and everything was Barbie and Mark you mentioned it while we were watching it. She said, I've never seen a movie with this amount of marketing. Everything right now is Barbie themed, right, Like it's pure. It looks like Barbie. You're seeing all over products,
it's everywhere. The marketing for this movie is is is It's ridiculous? Well, and yeah, and you know what, I don't even begrudge them that because there I don't either. I mean, it's super easy to market it, that's exactly it. And them the secondary profiting right because you literally have all of the merch right there is the ultimate product placement, right, the merch already exists. So I got look, I got no beef there. It doesn't A Barbie movie doesn't doesn't appeal to me, right right,
Well, like Marky said, well we saw the commercial. We started having this conversation. Was, Yeah, I'm seeing the marketing for it everywhere, but I have no idea what this movie is about. So so when I see people summarizing in you know, the length that a standard tweet is, and they make it sound like that, it sounds so incredibly over the top, to the point where, look, a lot of people obviously want to be first to the party when it comes to their hot take on a particular
movie. And you know, we try to extract that information, little nuggets of info, and Ross and I have spent in an order amount of time over the years talking about it, right, little nuggets from the Star Wars, the latest three Star Wars two. Um, well, I mean you name it. But so in your face and over the top is still somewhat unusual. Right. There's there's elements to movies where you're just like, are
you serious? That's part of it. And and and we can talk about Hollywood and like their complete lack of giving a crap about appealing to the whitest audience. So when I saw people claiming that was the plot point, even in this crazy world that we live in, or or the plot, I should say, I'm like, there's no way it's that, do you know
what I mean? Even with the even with the injection of all of the woke crap that we've seen, I like, and I brought up Captain Captain Marvel is the biggest example, but the plot of the movie is not. Captain Marvel is just inherently from the get go Awesome needs no training, men suck any of the rest. It's like, it's like smaller elements in the movie. What people are describing with the Barbie movie is the movie, and that's what's incredible to me. But I have not read anything in the last
twenty four hours that deviates from that. That's what That's what blows me away. So there's two worlds. There's the Barbie world and then there's the regular world. And Ken here's about the patriarchy, and it is like, we got to bring that to the Barbie world, which begs the question, is there some sort of aggressive matriarchy in the Barbie World, And if so,
how is that not equally as problematic as people describe the patriarchy? If I could just analyze a Barbie movie for a moment, I mean, it's already a tough place to exist. Everyone's a smoke show and nobody's got genitals right, which has to be frustrating, I guess would be my take there. But to make that the literal narrative of the movie just seems so incredibly out of touch and over the top. But that's just me. Look, has anyone when does that? Did the movie? The movie's open? Right?
It? What? It came out yesterday? I don't even know. I saw an email from one of our salespeople. There's some like Barbie premiere party that one of our other stations is doing. Did you want tickets to that? By the way, apparently there's extra tickets. Ross you want me to put you on the list? You want to go? Are you really? It's said that tomorrow is tomorrow's my seventeenth wedding anniversary. Oh congrats seventeen seventeen.
Ow I mean this seriously, congratulations. I can't think of a better way to celebrate, right, smart talk all DAYPTI in the Triad and one oh six one FM talk in the Triangle. All right, good morning, it is six thirty five. You're on the Case of Day radio program. People send him met Friday emails. There's no way, there's no other way to describe it. I'm obviously I'm aware of it because I posted it on
the social media yesterday. Ross did you see the Do you see the video on the social media of the person rubbing like banana cream pile over their naked body in the Delhi section of the groceries? You know what? I missed that one. Oh, we'll go to the Twitter account. Oh, good lord, seriously, you didn't see that. No, I did not see this yesterday. I kind of stayed off Twitter for the most part yesterday. Well, you know what, that's a good decision most any day. Yeah,
look at your banana pudding? Is this all over his bare ass? Is that a here or she? I believe it's a she? Oh my god? Watch the video. Go ahead, So you're just seeing the screen cap right now. I'm watching the video. Oh yeah, but I was just seeing it from behind and then they turned around. Yeah, and I'm still not sure. I'll tell you them the greatest. Yeah, you don't even like you don't even like the deli over at Walmart, right, it's
like a beef for you with the pizza and all that. I don't really have an issue with the deli or not the deli, but like what we had this discussion one day. Oh well yeah, that was the one time I went there. The guy was wearing he was vaping in front of the deli counter, wearing socks, crocs, a wife beater and a BMW hat but wearing clothes. Yes, so arguably that is that is mildly better this video is. It's uncomfortable. There is one saving grace though, like later
in the video it's like five minutes long. Yeah, they really like cake, do they? Though, I mean they're rubbing the cake all over their body. They're probably you know, they're probably dieting and they just fell off the wagon. Does that really Does that look like a diet person or well it looks like somebody that they should be dieting. Yes, okay, yes, And they were like, oh, I need all the sugar. I'm
pretty sure that's not how you get the sugar in the system. I'm not even as you know, I'm not even somebody who likes sweets, and I know that that is not the proper way to good Lord, they're behind the
counter. Yeah, towards the end of the video they go like in more into like the display items and like the act of God is there's like this temporary cardboard display they're selling like Hawaiian buns or something out of and thankfully they position themselves from the cameras slightly behind that while they're rubbing the cake into the most sensitive of regions. I guess it would be the best way to describe
that. So, you know, thank you to whoever at the grocery store is like, we need to set up this temporary display because it does block some of the action, and you're gonna want the action blocked, is the point that I'm making. But yeah, that thing goes on for like five minutes. All right, Well that's going in the back. Ross was telling me something off. They are so and I mean this. I mean this sincerely because I got tons of friends people I know that are married, long
term relationships anything. And I mean this when I say, because you just mentioned you and the wife are having the what seventeenth anniversary? Yeah, we've been together eighteen years but married seventeen. This is this is not radio fluff. I have other than you know, humorous joking stuff. Right, I've
never heard Ross ever say anything derogatory about his relationship. And I mean that a thousand percent to the point where I'm just like, it's so far in away from anybody else I know, and so I mean sincere congratulations, But also I'm like, how is that even possible? We have? We have a really good relationship. You know how I am about I'm very unconfident about most things in my life, like even the work in the radio show. And I'm constantly just as every day is the last dat, yeah, and
like every other Like I've always been an unconfident person. I am so secure in my relationship. We have such a good relationship and it's an absolute blessing. And my wife is a saint. It's it's it's literally it's it's amazing and and and I mean that sincerely. The one thing that really keeps me up, well, there's two things that keep me up at night when I tossed in turn, I can't sleep. One, I wonder who's gonna watch?
And Mark he's the same way we are. We're worried about who's going to take care of our child Lincoln when we're gone, right, because he's always going to need somebody to watch him, And that really, honestly keeps me up at night. It's it's scary. The other thing that really makes me nervous at night is the thought of and I have these thoughts is what am I going to do when she's gone? Or what is she going to do when I'm going? Like it scares me because I really want to.
I want to appreciate every second I have with her because I realize that time is fleeting, and it makes me sad thinking about one day I'm not going to have her or she's not gonna have me. Do you guys? Um? But do you are? You are? Are you guys a couple that takes anniversaries like very seriously? We don't. We also don't take Valentine's Day seriously right right? And this is what I'm asking too, But birthday birthdays too, it's the same. What we like birthday birthdays are different. But
what we don't like the holidays where you're supposed to celebrate each other. We what we like doing is random gifts throughout the year. I think random gifts, unexpected gifts are the best kind because you know, like you know, you're not doing it because there's a date on the calendar right right, So if you get a present in the mail, like, oh my god, I got you this jewelry for no reason, you're like, wow, I think you appreciate that more a thousand percent. Absolutely, but it doesn't feel
it doesn't feel demanded upon. You can celebrate the seventeenth year wedding anniversary tomorrow on the Hayes for Sheriff twitch channel. It's Hayes for Sheriff one word mark. He's going to be playing Red Dead Redemption to Red Dead for the first time with her character. She's made up Harry Cherry, so it's Dick Bickham's and Harry Cherry tomorrow on the Hayes for Sheriff twitch channel, celebrating seventeen years
married. It's gonna be an event. Waity, wait, hold on, you just said you don't like calendar dates and for celebration, and then you just well, I'm not doing this for us. We're doing it for the people. Oh, we're doing it for the for the community. Are you guys gonna pretend to eat emojis. I did it last week with the olive Garden Brenton really, and I'm thinking about making yeah, because he could do like one hundred bus and like they pop up on the screen and I was
like, oh, brand sticks, yam, nom nom nom. And I was thinking about doing it with other food too. Probably it's a lot of busy work and you have to program it. But I was saying, like chicken wings, I don't know, like protein powder, I've I have no idea, but it's probably that probably wouldn't look like protein powder on screen, so I would have to do like a tub of muscle milk or so I don't know powder like oh powder, yam, wait a whole lot. Harry
Cherry because that's your character. She came up with this morning where I was driving to work where were texting. She's like, what should have my character every name? I'm like, I don't know. She's like, what about Harry Cherry? And I'm like, that's great because that sounds like it's a dude's name, but obviously she's not a dude, but she's a dude in the game, right, because that's your character. So it's very twenty twenty
three so it's sort of all works. So it's Dick Bickham's and Harry Cherry to sorrow on the Hayes for Sheriff of Twitch Hill can't wait to see it seventeen years strong? Right, No, no, no, you got you gotta that's the hook. You gotta get the hook in there, man, So you like guilt people into watching that? Well, I told her too
this morning, because you know she works in marketing and social media. I said, well, I'm gonna need you to make a graphic for the stream and then a slide show for the stream, and they need you to make a pre and post video for the stream, and then can you do a promotional event before the stream? And She's just like, what the hell is happening? But you know, teamwork makes the dream work. So I'm very excited tomorrow. It does sound like a dude's name. However, I'm also
of a child from time to time. I don't know. I don't know if people have picked up on that. Occasionally, Ross and I act a little immature here on the show. And also the first vibe I got from that name and now I feel bad is there's also like a vulgar that's well that's the point. Okay, So it's dig Bickham's Yeah, no, I know. Yeah dude. The first time I played Red Dead and I'm in that scene where you're like in the opening spoiler alert. Well here's the thing.
So, because the tutorial of that game is like three hours long and you can't get out of the mountains, I'm going to play that today and tomorrow so she doesn't have to do it. So when we start playing tomorrow, it'll just be free room, open world. Otherwise it would be a because those wolves at me up, yeah, do you know what I'm saying? Just like because you're learning to you're you're learning to aim and shoot.
At that point, well, I had to fight them off one stream without a weapon because somebody of a viewer clicked the no no, you know, no gun button and then I had to fight them off with my fists. I got devoured for like an hour straight. I mean, I had a gun and it didn't go well for a while. So so what so you guys are doing that tomorrow? What time is that? It would be an eight thirty pm Eastern Standard time on the channel. Oh wow, Okay, after the boy goes to bed, n no, I'm numb. It's breadsticks.
Yeah, dude, I think I watched like five different, five different versions of that of various individuals seriously doing that NPC thing, which I you know, if if I had to make a list of things that I wish, I didn't know that's one of them. Immediately, however, I fell into this rabbit hole. But then I saw like follow up posts by like the two of the women, one the one we talked about, and one this black woman whose name is Cherry something Cherry I can't remember. She made
like three grand. The other chick made like six grand in an hour in an hour doing it, And you know what, at that point, I'm just like, maybe we're doing it wrong, sitting here grinding a way doing a three hour show five days a week, where we sure as hell dont makes six grand an hour. But then it also like communicated to me that there's all these people who find that cash worthy and it's not even from like
a cynical standpoint. The problem is is the two women who made like three and six grand respectively are also only fans porn actresses, So unfortunately, I think you have to have that background. But sixth grand got transferred for sitting there pretending to eat emojis for an hour. You see some of these videos and compared to the first one we showed with the elf girl, who was
also made more than six grands. Yeah, but like you watch some of these other videos where they're trying to do that and it's it's just not as good. Like you you could tell, like not to say like there's an abundant amount of talent needed to do that, right to act like an NPC, but like there is a vast difference between the video we played of her that we posted at a Casey on the Radio Twitter and like some of these other ones, like this one girl yesterday there was two of them. The
one on the left looked like she was having a seizure. Yeah, okay, that was just gonna mention that. So those two the one who because I think she's being shocked or something. I have no idea, but I guess if that's your thing, more power to you. But I don't enjoy it unless it's like you're being taste, you know what I mean? Like whatever, well, maybe that's what you get. Maybe you should have your wife taste you tomorrow. Do you want to borrow a taser because I could
get ahold, we have one. I got her one for a birthday. Really, I'm just saying, man, if you know, it's for the it's for the budget, it's for the fam. What is the how many bits does it take to have you taste one hundred thousand bits? So that would be roughly a thousand dollars wait for a thousand you'll get taste on straight for those. Well, I'm not saying I'm gonna do it. I'm saying if I did do, it's probably what I would do. It would be
a ridiculous amount of money. Yeah, you should go higher than that because somebody literally would pay that. I'm not saying that I would organize a group of fundraiser on online to make that happen. I'm just saying you should probably set your sides higher. Wait. Wait, is that the same amount it takes you to wear like a lebron hat or something that's completely different. That's time spent. Those are redemptions. Oh okay, so you watch for an
x amount of time and then you can have me do certain things. See, okay, it's very complicated, all right, So that's a thing tomorrow you know if you want on your on your Saturday, all right eight eight eight nine three four seven eight seven four h thirty huh eight thirty Eastern. Just for people wondering, all right, coming up on the show, we had more hearings up in DC, and everything's insane. Everybody's in denial. Nobody cares from a network standpoint, I noticed, but we will give you
the details on that. Also an update on the US soldiers, like I'm running to North Korea because a little more is coming out with that right now. Eight eight eight nine three four seven eight seven four. We'll be back here in just a few keeping you connected this WPTI in the Triad and one six one FM talk in the Triangle. All right, good morning, it is uh six fifty six here on the CaCO Day Radio program. So the um the fallout, I guess of the visor plant. They're in Rocky Mount
taking the direct hit of the tornado. Again look at it the pictures of this, and there was some videos some dude took outside their yard or you know, pointing out in their yard show and they literally their roof being ripped away. I mean the fact that nobody was killed, uh in this uh in this tornado down around Rocky Mount is amazing, But when you look at this, uh, this visor plant down there, it turned into this dumb
debate over what all was inside. And I probably got fifteen emails yesterday from folks who in two cases people who worked there. And what that means for the medical I guess the drugs supply here in the US is pretty crazy. That the the negative thought when you sit here and look at this, and I'll give you the details to kick off the next hour, is you know,
you got it's not just COVID vaccine or any of the rest. And I understand that that took over the social media, but I didn't realize what percentage of Fiser's supply of intravenous medicines and various other stuff that that particular Facility Act really provided, and it's pretty substantial. But also there was the idea
that there was opioid stuff and ketamine and others. And obviously, and I understand why Feiser is not being one hundred percent on what they're saying, but you know, the idea that these drugs which addicts crave may have been literally dispersed into the woods. The security issue that comes along with that, so I'll give you the follow up on that coming up here in our number two.
Also, Pete Callender joins us our number three eight oh five. Lots to get into with him, so hang on, all right, good morning man, Welcome. It is our number two here on the case O Day Radio program. So during the break, I went to the old refrigerator. Whoever works at Gatorade in the variety packs the plastic ones from Walmart? Could you just stop putting the orange ones in there. I've got red, I've got lemon lime, I've got the blue, I even uh, there's one
other in there. We don't need the orange. However, it's too good of a deal when you look at buying them individually. So sorry, just using my platform for the betterment of society because unfortunately that's all that's left in there. All right, m dude, So you thought Cocaine Bear was good, We got Cocaine Sharks coming up on the show. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a Friday thing that's happening here in just a little bit. But let me get back to um as I mentioned, you
know, actual news. Although cocaine Sharks, if you're headed to the beach, might actually be actual news to you probably don't want to tussle with them. So as you you you look the impact of this e F three tornado that, among other things, severely damage the Fiser plant. They're in Rocky Mount, and it's fascinating because I've had multiple people too who worked there, and quite a few who used to work there when it was I guess it used to be Abbott. Again, I don't know, so understand that my
sourcing here is although these are listeners that I know and recognize. So I'll take it for what it's worth. And I didn't really get into it yesterday because I don't want to be the guy on the radio starting a thing. But I mean that's a real concern. Forget the you know, the COVID vaccine narrative and all of that that permeated on social media. But you know, you go through there, there's a lot of among other things, there are um but what damn it, what is the term I'm looking for?
Basically there there are regulated narcotics in there, and you know, the idea that this tornado went through and literally, in addition to damaging the facility, literally spread this stuff around the last thing you needed was like opioid addicts crawling around the woods nearby. Obviously, officials have enough to deal with. But now that we're we're we're past that to some extent, we can get into it. Um but you know the list of things that people told me literally
were in this warehouse. UM. You know, it sounded obviously problematic. However, when you look at the impact that that could have, UM this, you know, this facility has over three thousand employees. I had no idea, and what is this? Oh? Now I got a Walmart employee mad at me. Stop acting. If we're the one who put the package together, we just sell it, all right. I don't know if you know this. Walmart has an incredible amount of control over what companies do and
what they package for sale. And I only know this because one of the things I used to do on the radio is I used to do a hunting and fishing show in Minnesota and me and a co host by name of Tim Lesmeister's is great outdoor rider. Tim's great, great dude, one of the one of the nicest best people I've ever known, and it comes across on the radio. So we were doing this hunting and fishing show and it literally
was syndicated, like thirty six stations. Was great. It was one of the hardest things to give up when I moved to North Carolina because it actually was pretty profitable. But we had to deal with sponsors, and most of the sponsors were in the hunting and fishing industry, and you know, the
holy grail for them was to get into Walmart. Obviously, and like Walmart would dictate what your packaging looked like, and you would do it because you wanted you wanted to be in the stores so you can get rid of the orange. Is the point that I'm making. But back to this, Okay, like including like Berkeley for those of you who fish, obviously you're familiar with the name Berkeley Light. The way stuff was packaged by Berkeley that you
could buy in Walmart was dictated by Walmart. And I can't remember the reasoning behind it, but that's the power that they have and understandably, so obviously, if you're selling stuff, that's a good place to sell stuff, so you can get rid of the orange. I don't want to hear your lazy emails any who. Back to this, So, Nash County Sheriff keyth Stone tells WRL News again, don't talk to WRL, that fifty thousand palettes of
medicine were destroyed. The facility produces nearly twenty five percent of Fiser's sterile injectables. So and then obviously Fiser is the I believe they're the largest US seller of some of these products. So when you lose a fourth of the current supply, especially here on the East Coast, as you can imagine, that's going to be impactful, even though they it's not clear totally what the impact is going to be from a distribution standpoint. I don't know the totality of
Fiser's warehouses, but pretty crazy. More than one hundred vehicles and storage trucks were damaged as well, and the facility, as you can imagine, is closed till further notice. Totally figure out what they're gonna do. But yeah,
I mean thirty two hundred people. Even though technically Rocky Mount is a separate radio market, which I always thought was dumb, Rocky Mount Greenville is its own radio market, and you know, technically it's not one we're in, although we show up in the ratings there, so you know, in case you're wondering, um, so we got a lot of folks to listen down there. I had no idea the facility was that big. Let's see,
um stay rep Alan Chesser, so he represents nash County. You know what, I should have had him on now that I realized the totality of this. If anyone's listening and oh really no, no, no, say it on the air. So you guys, so you follow each other on Twitter, I was gonna say, I recognize the name there. Yeah,
so I'll contact him and see if he's available. Yeah, I'd like to talk to him because I had Again, I had no idea that we're talking over three thousand people that worked there until I read it literally right before the show this morning. So yeah, reach out to reach out to him, see if you can get him to call in. It's because he visited the plan on Thursday. Chester said it's going to take some time to clean up.
There's obviously economic impact obviously. Quote it looks like a bomb went off, and Chester mentioned how authorities need to make sure everything's account of it. Yeah, obviously. Again, this is why I didn't deep dive into this yesterday because the thought was in my brain, like tornado comes through and then there was a story where literally two people were transported one hundred feet. Those are people, So think about an individual versus you know, a box of
a controlled whatever. And I didn't want to get into it yesterday because you know, that's the kind of crap that people would show up tom to look for stuff. But now we're we're little ways away. So the plant produces injectables, IV, infusions, wide variety of stuff. But there's also, as Chester points out here, there are controlled substances. Let's see here.
Fiser bought the plan back in twenty fifteen. It encompasses more than one point for a million square feet of manufacturing space, so twenty four football fields. I guess they have twenty two packaging lines. So I don't know if that's the totality of what they produced, but yeah, I just wanted to follow up on that because you know, that sounds that sounds like obviously something that could have an impact if you're going to the hospital this weekend or whatever.
It is, all right now, so here we go. Yeah, so this is again I'm I'm basing a lot of this off of off of emails. So I used to work emailer rights. I used to work at an AVID distribution center. Opioids are stored in a vault. Um, there may have been some desirable drug. Again, I don't know. I didn't dive into this yesterday because I don't want to be the the you know, the jackass on the radio that may inspire somebody. That means said, I don't
know, man, I'm looking at those pictures. Even if it's in a vault, I don't even know. Oh sweet, Okay, all right, so I guess we're gonna chat with the representative here. Well that's good, that's good, all right, So let me do this. We'll take a break, come back and um, maybe get a little more on what exactly this impact may look like and the timeline. I mean, this day. This thing ain't getting fixed tomorrow. So we'll get into that coming up here
on the case O Day radio program show. After the show on the radio app, search case O Day for the podcast on the iHeart radio app. All right, seven twenty three, let me jump into this representative Alan Chesser, who represents those you listening in a good portion of the Rocky Mount area. Um, we're talking about the Fiser plant down there. He's joining us this morning. How are you doing, sir? I'm doing all right, Tacy, how are you? Uh, well, I'm good. I had
no idea until I started really diving into this. Over three thousand people work at that Fiser plant. The photos are obviously crazy yesterday. UM, you know, people are trying to ascertain what happened. Uh. It doesn't look like anything is going to be back in business anytime soon. So you went down there, you and Tim Moore, I guess what was the what was your your your thoughts when you were down there. Oh? Yeah, I
mean it's heavily impacted. It's heavily damaged. Um. Some people they upgraded the tornado to an F three, So originally we were told it was enough to set a little bit over one hundred and fifty mile hour straight line wins um. The only thing I can equate it too, is the back end of that building was like a bomb went off. And given the nature of
you know what what Fiser produces, you're you're completely right. They're one of our largest employers in the county UM and an integral part of our community here. So given the nature of what they produce, there's controlled substances in that building. So accounting for all those substances, accounting for every file that's been lost in the storm is of paramount concern and it's going to take time to clean it up. What at the state level, what is it you guys
want to do? I'm assuming your brain is churning. UM. Obviously this is you know, um, a natural disaster, if you will. But what is the State of North Carolina do and what is their representative in you hoping to do? Well? That was the goal of yesterday was just getting um, I hate to use this term, with the power brokers that be at the state level, representations from the executive branch in the state, UM,
the legislature out there to see the damage for themselves. Because ultimately what we have to do is try to streamline this siling process to either get FEMA funds in there or get some state emergency relief in there, which is you know, a benefactor of hopefully Nash count who will be a benefactor of some
of the good fiscal policy that the states followed over the years. And the surplus is putting money away for the rainy day fund and the emergency funds for a time such as this, right, and let's let's just be clear. FEMA and the FEMA funds is essentially an insurance program that the states pay into. So yeah, but there there are certain levels that you have to hit
to qualify that, right. I've taught. I haven't talked to the governor himself, but I taught the representative from his office, um, somewhere on site yesterday. Both. I believe the governor is suffering with about of COVID right now. So well, yeah, I mean he's tweeting, so you know, he's awake and alert, and this is you know, this is going back to where he's from. Um. You know, this seems like one of those things where you guys could all get along, you know what
I'm saying. So, and there's not many examples of that. Yeah, I think I think we are. I think we're coming together. We had Secretary Buffalo out here yesterday. UM and uh, you know the local city councilman that's from the particular ward that was most heavily damaged, Ward seven. He's a registered Democrat as well. But none of that comes up when we're driving around and checking on our constituents, checking our people and trying to help
people. UM. It is a very bi bipartisan effort going on right now. Yeah, No, I mean this is this is when you all need to divorce that and you know, just get down to doing it. So. Um, so I saw estimates two to three years. I got about thirty seconds left, so I hate to pinch you here, but two to three years over three thousand people working there? Is that your understanding of how long it might take to get this back up? I have not heard any
estimates. We're going back out there today to meet with the CEO of FISER and we're expected to get some updated information today. All right, let me do this, Um gotta, I gotta go to break. Let's let's make a plan to talk on Monday. Maybe you'll have more info. But I appreciate you reaching out to us today. Ross set up, Thank you, JCS on ninety four five WPTI in the Triad and one oh six one FM talk in the Triangle. All right, so we got stuff organized. Ross.
What time we do in that Monday with the eight oh five all right? So that'll give the representative more time to ascertain a little more. But yeah, when you talk about Rocky Mount and over three thousand jobs, which again I'm seeing estimates. Now take it for what it's worth. These r estimates from people who are commenting in news stories, um as to you know,
how long it may take to get that facility up. Somebody send me an email and they're probably right, probably just gonna have to raise the whole thing and rebuild. So but that's just me speculating. So we'll on Monday dive into that, and uh, what what is Rocky Mount? Like? Fifty thousand people? Actually, hold on, make sure I'm accurate here, do you do? You do? You? Do? You do? Do
you? Fifty four thousand according to the UH numbers from twenty twenty one, So obviously that is a it's a big slice of the population around the Rocky Mountain area. That's the city of Rocky Mount. Obviously, I'm sure people come in from nearby communities, but you get the gist of it. So we'll talk to Rep. Chester on Monday and uh see what's going on over there. Let me grab a quick phone call on this, Uh Scott,
what's up, hey, Casey? How you doing this morning? I'm pretty you know, it's Friday, sirs, so it's hard to hate, but great, Well, I haven't heard anybody say anything about how this is going to affect the wildlife in in in what sense all the medication that's spread out all over the area there. You know, somebody send me an email about how we could get a Shark Nado spin off or a cocaine bear. But with the giant hogs, which um obvious obviously they got in a bus down
there. Um. I'm still to this day, I still think about hog Zilla, which I think it was like Southerly Joco. But yeah, man, uh yeah, I don't want him get ahold of any any drugs. So I'm with you. But you know, also, okay, all right, look look at you, an animal lover, sir. You're concerned about them, the critters. I understand that. But yeah, I mean here in North Carolina, we got us some giant ferrel hogs, man, and uh yeah, I don't want him getting some you know, I don't want
him getting a hold of any pharmaceuticals for that matter. Holy cow, dude, I gotta tell you. Uh and obviously some of you, obviously, uh, you probably hunt farrel hogs a lot more than I do. I think twice, I literally twice. Hovelina in Texas, which is from a size standpoint is nowhere compared to what we have in North Carolina. But I did go on a hog hunt here in North Carolina and that thing was aggressive. The dude missed the double lung boiler shot and we got down there and
yeah, like you don't recognize the size of some of these things. So yeah, I don't want to gonna get in a hold of pharmaceuticals. I'm with you, sir, but you know, make a movie out of it. So you got that. Speaking of meat, I'm not at all surprised by this a new study and that it was part of the FDA's June twenty first follow up. So back in June, the FDA approved the sale of lab grown meat. But as they were doing it, the company is called
good Meat. I believe that made application. As they were doing it, they also announced that there was some research being done, right, and they would take that into account as they were because this is, you know, this is new ground, and I have no desire to eat lab grown meat, just so we're abundantly clear, but if you want to, you can now. However, as part of that, they were wanting more research as they figure out the regulations that are going to surround this and I find this
very interesting. So apparently apparently lab grown artificial meat actually has a larger carbon footprint currently then regular old you know, animals just in the tree additional sense. So only chicken has passed the official government approval process, so that's what they're looking at. However, researchers at the University of California Davis found that
the environmental impacts of lab grown or what is actually referred to. They don't call it lab grown, they call it cultivated meat, is likely to be orders of magnitude their language higher than their natural counterpart, based on production methods,
which remember the lab grown meat was all about this narrative. Than when it comes to you know, our current agricultural environment and the meat that we produce, it's horrible, which is why you see these stupid like Green New Deal inclusions where they want to get rid of cows and build a train to Hawaii and you know, all the stupid AOC crab But in reality, it
is actually more energy intensive. Now supporters say that's just a result of it being new and the research that's gone with it, but once it becomes more mainstream, that number will drop and they're probably not inaccurate on that. You know, anytime you get more into a mass production kind of thing, it becomes easier and easier. That being said, I saw several articles when this went through where people were of the opinion that if you're all about the environment,
you're a climate crusader. This is the direction to go. And the reality is it's not just a little more. It's like four and a half times more. According to UC Davis researcher Derek Risner these studies lead author is so UC Davis actually has a cultivated meat consortium, which couldn't sound more like
a funnel for public dollars for various connected education people. The artificial meat industry plans on creating lab grown meat using primarily food grade ingredients and cultures, which is part of the purity process that they're claiming that in and of itself obviously has a much larger carbon footprint, described as pharma to food, which I think is a horrible description if you want to get people to try it. The lab based meat had been promoted as a more climate friendly alternative. However,
it just doesn't live up to it. Let's see here once now again, this is this is if everybody gets on board. Ross. Do you have any interest in eating lab grown meat? Ever? Uh? No, I tried it the one time, and they sat in my stomach forever. Well, that's not lab grown. That was you're talking about the uh anything to do with it? I don't anything to do with it. That was the impossible bird. So this is actually protein, this is actually meat,
but it's lab cultivated. So this is actually something different. But you're right, that was the impossible whopper, right, you ate the impossible whopper there. My stomach was like, what is this? And they sat there forever. Yeah. Now, to be fair, I probably have a bias literally growing up in the meat production industry, right with cows and stuff, But
I got zero interest. However, if the totality of the US population were to get on board the artificial lab grown cultivated meat train, they estimate eventually it would have ninety two fewer carbon emissions, which I don't believe because anytime I see these estimates that I never actually live up to it. But right now it's uh, it's not even close, and in a very negative way. All right, seven forty five k c O day radio program Race A check from the Weather Channel, YO yo yo, Hey, do you hear
yourself? I do No, no, not yet. No echo, It's fixed. Okay, Yeah, Ross was Yeah, I dude, the dude was putting in some time after the show. It's just crazy. Yeah. It was like this big, long like expo. I was like, all I needed to know Ross was it was fixed. I did. Now. I feel bad though, because people are like, your board is messed up. I'm like, how dare you, sir? Yeah, how dare you mess with salt? Salt Ross's board? With the last thing I want to
do. He's got a toy. He's got it. Literally, it's decorated with toy. But oh yeah, with the skeletor. Yeah, I got an I got an R two D two Here, Darth Vader here in front of me. Dude. Have you never seen a picture of us as studios? No? I may have, but I don't remember. Dude. It looks like it looks like you ever see like the nerd Collectible room or they have all this stuff. Yeah, he's got a little bit of everything. Man. Oh wow. Oh yeah, okay, I'm glad we got it
taking care of We were just we were just chatting with um uh. The state representative from Nash County, where the Fiser plan is right, and um, you know over three thousand people worked there. I didn't get into it yesterday. I'm talking about it today because the thought occurred. Obviously, they have controlled substances which you never knew where the tornado may have tossed him. And I didn't want to be the guy that encouraged like opioid addicts to go
farm the woods nearby. But um, right, well we were a day in now, so they got security. But my point is, um, when you see the aerial footage of this and you see did you see the video of the guy who's filming outside of his double wide and the roof's getting ripped off? I mean I didn't see that. I did see the aerial footage of the of the building. I've been near a tornado. I couldn't actually see it. I could see the I could see it start to circulate
and then it moved. It was several minutes later that it turned just terrifying. Man, just shows you we're so we're such peons in the grand scheme again, the grand scheme of things. You're right, And you know the one thing I always like to say, and probably well, I don't. I'd like to say it more is understand a few things. Showers, thunderstorms when they're in the forecast. Understand this. All thunderstorms do rotate to some
degree. So it's just sometimes the dynamics are just the right place the wrong time, are just perfect for you know, something to rotate and a thunderstorm to rotate a little better for the worst and produce tornadoes. So you know, that messaging is it should always be there. And there's thunderstorms and you may not even mentioned severe. You know, we weren't in a watch or
anything, but there were stronger storms that come on in my messages. Anytime there's thunderstorms, you should get inside anyway and then check out what's going on and see, you know, what you need to do to keep your you know, try to keep your property safe, but certainly your family. That's one of the biggest things. But none of that is we go through the next few days. Sunny today. Got a front coming in this afternoon.
I'm limited moisture with it. I think out near the outer banks of the beaches there may be some showers, thundershowers upper eighties to low nineties tonight in the sixties tomorrow, maybe a shower around otherwise part at least sunny. You'll feel a little difference in the air mass, a little less humid, upper eighties and a chance of a shower thundershower on Sunday afternoon. Mit upper eighties once again, but we're going back to the nineties next week. Next week
looks like again another high and potentially dry week. So hot and dry with sunshine starting about Tuesday at least through Thursday. All right, thank you sir, and we'll chat in an hour. Appreciate all right, Coming up, we'll chat with Pete Calendar much sooner. That'll be an eight OZHO five And researchers say there's a bit of a problem off the coast of Florida, and um, this sounds horrible. I'll give you the details coming up on the case O Day Radio program. This is one oh six one FM Talk in
the Triangle and News Talk PTI in the Triad. So for those of you who are plans of that open place every day, fans of Shark Week, there is going to be a rather interesting special as part of the programming offering. And it did. It didn't set out to be that, So check this out here we go. What is this guy's name? Anyway, he does. Tom Hurd, who is a marine biologist actually has a pretty popular YouTube channel, was shooting a documentary off the coast of Florida and with the
intention that it would be part of Discovery Shark Week. However, it turned into something he didn't expect. So one of the things that down in Florida can be an issue is drugs literally floating in the water or washing up on the beach. We see stories on the regular about this, and it just so happened. They were shore where were they should, down in the Keys,
I think, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Along with a University of Florida environmental scientists, they were down the Florida Keys and they were just they were shooting videos of hammerhead sharks and sandbar sharks. However, they then noticed that there was packaging floating in the water and they contacted authorities once they realized what was right. Obviously it was cocaine. However, in that time they noticed something interesting. Literally, shark after shark after shark coming up to
the cocaine and eating it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The sharks were all about the cocaine, and in fact, they got so much footage of these sharks, and then and then they documented how the sharks were acting and you're not going to believe this. Apparently they acted like they were on cocaine,
so case you needs something to worry about. In fact, it was so interesting to them that they changed what they were doing as part of the documentary and they conducted an experiment so they got they essentially recreated the packaging it didn't actually have cocaine in it, and then they dropped it into the same water and sure enough, as it's out there, all of a sudden,
they observed sharks swimming straight to the packages and trying to eat it. So that spawned what is going to be a one hour documentary called Cocaine Sharks. Dude. If you need a reason not to go to the beach, here
it is. But apparently they say that there is enough, There is enough regularity of drugs in the water, which is baffling to me because I only see these stories sometimes that it literally has trained the sharks to seek out these cocaine, which I don't know, maybe they're just biting whatever is in the water. But also I don't want to get in the water if cocaine sharks are around, so I don't know, maybe that is along with the the
fentnol board. Maybe that's going to be the latest iteration of weird animals specials. So Caine Sharks, by the way, premieres on the twenty sixth at this five days on scubby. If you want to work, all right, good morning and everybody. It is eight oh seven, it is Friday, and we got an hour to go and then the sweet sweet smell at least for us, you all got to go to work. But uh, of the weekend is upon us. But before we get there, we had a
crazy week, all sorts of insanity. To help digest just a little bit of that, our radio buddy to the South Peak Calendar Midday's WBT. He's still got to work today. So um, but you can catch that on the iHeart radio app. Sucker, you got to go to work. What's up? I never stopped working? Uh huh do you have? And I'm serious about this. So for for Ross and I we're kind of on the
same page. On the weekdays, there's like this middle window during the day, right because you know, the show happens, You've got production, you know, all this all the stuff that nobody because everyone one just thinks we work three hours a day, right, Yeah, and then you have this middle part of the day and then once I get into the latter part of the afternoon, I plug back in and you know, put together the prep
for the next day. Do you have like this period of time which is like a sanity restorer where you just kind of unplug or are you one of these guys who's always on. Well, I am a believer, and he who stops to sharpen the axe cuts more wood, right, I do believe that, and I always advise you got to unplug. I used to do it on weekends, and to some extent I do sort of Friday afternoon after I get done, you know, from like dinner time until probably Sunday morning,
and then I kind of plug back in. But just the nature of this of the shift that I do noon to three, it's I mean I get up at five am, I start you know, compiling the day's headlines, the show prep, and then you know, you do the show and a lot of stuff acts really happens on air live while I'm live, and so I'm kind of you know, yeah, treading what's what's a I said, I'm so jealous, You're dude. The ability to jip something, Yeah,
it would be amazing. And you just unless like Joe Biden's overseas wandering around, you know, some stage he's unfamiliar with. I just I don't have that noon to three, right he man, right, And so like over the last two days, I was able to dip into the or jip joined in progress. I was able to join in progress the some of the hearings that we're up on Capitol Hill, which we're which we're good to do.
Um. You know. The downside is that you you got a prep for the entire show, right, So you're and my rule is two hours of prep for each hour on air. So a three hour shift means six hours of prep generally speaking. And so you prep for Yeah, so you prep for all that stuff. I mean, I don't have a guy like Ross, you know, doing all of the producer in that Ross does for you. And so you know, I just so I wake up, I start compiling it. I have a Google document, I put all of my
links into it, and then I pull from there. I create the show out of that. And then after I get done, I use them the document, I filter out the ones that I didn't use, and that gets bumped to the next day. And so right now my Google document is about thirty four pages and it's just headlines, it's just links to still. No, I'm looking at it right now and it has last week's date on it. So or the one I send to you, Yeah, the one I give to you. I have a special one here. I can I can,
I see I can change that one for you. No, no, no, no, you can hold on, hold on, hold on that speak of no. Yeah, look at that. You just did that on the fly Hue twenty one. By the way, I'm sorry, I'm a ross. What did you just ask me? I'm just wanting if Pete is hiring Really we've been together twenty years? Have you heard the promos? Ten years? And just like it feels more leaked ten, it feels more than ten. It's weird. It's probably accurate, so so weird. Um I
have in control of hiring decisions, unfortunately. Yeah. No, people think I can put in a good word for him. How many times you've got an email about some other thing on the station and somebody's like you need to do something and I'm just like, you think we control anything outside of our day part. Yeah, yeah, it's And then there's the other side of that, which is that you're being told what to say by filling the blank, you know, management powers that be politicians or something. But yeah,
no, I don't. I don't ever get any direction. I never have it when I when I worked for I Heeart as well, I was never told anything to say. I build the show based on what I think people are interested in, what people need to know about, and what interests me so and it just so happens that those interests usually align well. And that's that's the key to it. That's what makes U you know, makes people
on the radio successful. Obviously they share a lot of characteristics hopefully with the maximum amount of people out there, and you know, the ratings come in. You've never had to fight that battle. There's been a couple of times over the years where I've had some like did I ever tell you? Did
I tell you about the Amber alert conversation? I had one time with a salesperson, No, so this sales and he meant, well, right, he doesn't work with us anymore, but he meant well, he comes into the studio, as sometimes salespeople will do after the show with an idea, and I appreciate them coming to me because I don't want them assuming that you know, something that's outside of the norm will just fit and then selling it
because then it's a fad thing. But he comes in and he goes, oh, I've got this company, and I'm not gonna say which company it is, but basically it's a company where their products help parents keep tabs on their kids. Okay, all right, great and good company by the way, good products they produce. But he comes in, he goes, yeah, so what if we have a sponsor for amber alerts? Right? And and I'm like, I'm looking at him, I'm like, what do you
mean by that? And what he meant? So amber alerts, for those of you who don't know, are part of the EAS system, which we do not control. You'll hear the test. But also like when the storms were going through the other day, and and and for amber alerts, they literally just play I'll get Ross can because it happens in Ross's studio, and so he'll be like, EAS is going off and I just have to keep talking even though uh, you know, some depending on which market. It's
in half my audience can hear me. Um, And he goes, so I'm like, let me let me run this by you. So you want you want some lead in right where it's like coming up a kid's missing, but first and then conserment. And like when I when I like played it out on the air forms, he just kind of looked at me. He's like, yeah, that's probably not gonna work, and then he was right,
well, and the other thing is the lack of consistency. I mean, you're it's almost like you're gonna have to go out and start kidnapping kids in order to make sure that the client gets enough play to warrant the thought. I don't know the amount of kids I was. I went to Walmart did like the big shopping the other day, and I'm just like the amount of untethered children just running around like it wouldn't be hard, all right,
Well yeah, okay, yeah. I mean I think though, in order to get you know, to risk selling and kidnapping charges, I mean I would expect to spend to be a lot of money. The talency I would suspect would be in the probably millions of dollars. No, No, I'm not doing the kidnap. That's on the company and the sales guy. Oh oh yeah, so you went to Walmart. So you're like, you're like Casey de Santis. Then yeah, let me ask you a question on that. Yes, no, to some extent, but actually that I was going
to go in a different direction. Let me ask you this because you know, Twitter's, as says Pool, and you know, anytime I see one of the bigger Twitter accounts, you can tell which camp they're in, and you know, and most of it's disingenuous, Like I don't even read him anymore. That being said, you and I obviously spending an ordinate amount of
time not just on Twitter but reading stories and whatnot. Do you are you surprised with the momentum that the Santist has versus what you thought it would be. I just want to point this is not me picking sides. I just I'm I'm I'm slightly awestruck. And maybe it's a product of media coverage with I thought the Santists would be. Do you remember the governor of Wisconsin during the twenty sixteen election. You know, I got wrong, Scott, but
he was everywhere right. He was the show in he was the guy and about the time to Santis was shipping kids to Martha's or excuse me, maybe there were some kids, but shipping illegal immigrants to Martha's vineyard. Everyone was just assuming that you couldn't get away from Scott Walker in the news, and I just don't feel like that's out there. And the conspiracy, of course, is the media secretly wants Trump in there because Joe Biden will beat him,
blah blah blah, any you know, all that stupidity. But you know, some people are feeling that frankly, his people around him are not doing a good job. What's your take on that? So, first, the thing is that it's summer, and so it's generally you know, slow
news cycles in summertime. You've got a media that is, uh, you know, constantly focused on the horse race, and so they're not I mean, the best polling is the internal polling that we never see, right, Right, So you got all these polls that come out, and I tend to look at trend lines and particularly not even in the matchups. I'm not I'm not so interested in the matchups at this point because most Americans are not tuning in yet, right, they're not paying attention to all of this stuff.
So the people that follow it, obviously, are the trends that I look at are the favorability numbers. And when you've got president, you've got President Biden, and you've got former President Trump, and they have they've got some serious problems with their favorability numbers. Now does that mean they don't win the primaries? No, of course not. You know, Trump has a solid floor. The question is the ceiling for him in a general election.
You had a lot of people that voted against him, and you had a lot of people that really, really, really really don't like him. And I do believe that because they tell you they Democrats, particularly in North Carolina, their dream ticket for the Republicans is a Trump Mark Robinson ticket because they think that that's going to give them the best chance to win, because they believe these two candidates would be toxic to a lot of moderate independent voters.
I don't know if they're right about that. I mean, they wanted Trump in twenty sixteen, and how did that work out for them? You know? Not so well. So you know, the people are making all sorts of guesses. I am I am one who wants to see the campaign unfold. I'm a patient guy, so I like the people who get paid. It really is a phenomenal job. I guess you just get paid to make all sorts of predictions about who wins, and then if you're wrong, nobody
ever really you still get work after that. So I don't understand, like why people believe these predictions, because if people could accurately predict all of this stuff, I would like some lottery numbers that would win. That would be very helpful to me. No, no, no, I'm with you, and and you're you're you're diving deeper than I guess. My question is I'm just my apologies. No no, no, no, no no that I
feel like I'm being censored. I feel like I'm being censored. Well, look you should I had a ten minute opening statement when you're only supposed to have five. We're gonna get into that ur in the moment. No, no, no, I just mean, like, like, you know, the things that garner the media coverage, like shipping a bunch of you know, a flight to Martha's vineyard. Obviously that was all over the place, Like the Santist, the stuff he was doing when he was governor. I
just I don't see that earned media right now. And I don't know if that's because the media doesn't want to cover it or the santist Is people are just not coming up with, you know, bright ideas to get it. I'm a little surprised by that, but I agree with you, it's very early. So I was I think that taking your Ted on this, right, I think the initial strategy was very much like a Ted Cruise strategy right
in twenty sixteen. Ted Cruise did not directly attack Donald Trump because he was thinking, and the campaign was thinking, that Trump will burn out and then Cruise will pick up all of those voters. I think Vivic Remiswamy's camp is thinking sort of the same thing, is that he's sort of the fallback guy. Right then, That's why he never attacks Trump. Remeswami never goes directly at Trump. Same thing for De Santis. You're walking a line where you
cannot alienate the Trump voters because you're going to need them. If not, you know, peeling some away in the primary, you're going to need him in the general. And there are a lot of people that are only Trumpers, right, You've got a lot of never Trumpers, but there are only Trumps too, and so they won't come over especially, I mean you see some of the more outlandish claims and stuff that are going on. So, now what De Santis is doing, and I think this is actually his strong
suit, is going head on with the media. He's going into these uh into these interviews with quote mainstream or legacy media outlets, and I think he
does well there. He did well with the Jake Kapper interview. Didn't get a lot of coverage because he did well, and Donald Trump got indicted, and so like there's another you know component here is that, yeah, Trump, you know, gobbles up a lot of the oxygen because he gets indicted and he's he's winning every single news cycle because he gets indicted all the time apparently, and so there are all these stories about the indictments and they're easy
to do. People have inside sources and stuff, and in those liberal outlets, that's what people want to read. It's it's Trump porn. You know.
I'm sorry, I don't need to don't need to create a visual there, but like that's it's this focus on Trump because that's what moves the meter for a lot of these legacy outlets, and so they can keep covering that and get the clicks and get the traffic, and hey, you know what if it elevates Trump and his poll numbers go up and he wins the primary, get him into the general even better because they think they can beat him
in the general. Well, it's uh, you know, speaking of the the coverage there, Um, you're obviously you you said you were jipping some of the whistleblower hearings. Um, Jamie Raskin is all in right, He's willing to defend whatever there was. And I only watched probably about thirty minutes
live yesterday. There was there was a vibe among the Democrats on the committee there, with the exception of the ranking member who wants to make this all about racism, but there was a vibe among Democrats where they looked beat down, do you like, to the point where they didn't want to end up
in any news story about this because it's not going well for Biden. And I understand everyone's like the Kraken's coming all the rest, but ultimately you could tell the enthusiasm for many of the Democratic members just wasn't there yesterday well or the day before. So he had yesterday was the sense of the weaponization of government right the censorship right hearing the day before was the I R S whistleblower, and it's I agree they are not addressing Democrats on those panels were not
addressing the issue at hand. They talked about everything, but they were talking about racism. They were talking about you know, censor an RFK getting them off, talking about anti semitism yesterday, anything except to talk about the actual material of the hearing. The focus of the hearing was whether or not government is pressuring or has pressured social media companies to censor views that the government believes
is double plus un good and it has it has done that. This is the lawsuit what at a Missouri and Arkansas and so they're not They don't address the core issue at play. They didn't do it two days ago during the IRS whistleblower There wasn't there wasn't a single counter argument made. And I watched all of that one, all five and a half. Yeah. Yeah, they presented no counter narrative except the closest they came to a legitimate, plausible
counter explanation was this was the prosecutor's discretion. But they had no answer for all of the blocking that the assistant US Attorney did Leslie Wolf up in Delaware at every stage, and they wanted to interview Hunter Biden, they wanted access to Pepa. Do you want to hang out for another segment? Yeah,
because otherwise I would feel like I'm being censored. All right, so hang on, We'll be right back with Pete Calendar America one six one FM Talk and ninety four five w PTI, two stations driving the best in talk. This is Casey O Day and Carolina's Morning News. All right, welcome back, eight thirty six. Good Friday morning to you. Um, you got Pete Calendars is still hanging out with us. I'm appreciate it, sir. I know, I'm sure you got better things to do. But ABP,
what's that? ABP? Always be prepping? Really? Is that a Glenn Arry Glenn Ross been off there, don't I don't know. ABC always been closing? Yeah. I watched that movie the other day and I have never seen it, and I've been ridiculed for Nazi having seen it. So it is one of the movies I have to see. I mean, you should see it. I'm not going to ridicule you. Um, it's a little niche, but you know us working around salespeople, so you know there's a
there's a certain element to that. Um I was just reading something during the bread I was going to go in a different direction, but let me run this by you because it's amazing. Apparently the studio that produced the Oppenheimer movie, which opens today, they they're a little surprised. As part of their worldwide release strategy, apparently they got lukewarm reception from theaters in Japan, so they've now decided that they're not going to they haven't announced a date to release
it. Did they think that, like that was gonna go well in Japan? I mean, fran why which why why Japan? Why would they have a problem with the moving I can't imagine. Ross made the point off the area. He's like, look, Japan wouldn't be what Japan is if it literally wasn't for those bombs, which you know, it's a little new once. But that's that's a fair argument. Yeah, at the risk of at the risk of going down a path that people can misconstrue and take out of
context. There is right, there is this entire um line of thinking, like alternative historical fiction, right, where like, what what would have happened had uh, you know, the Battle of Gettysburg gone differently? Right, would if they had gotten up on top of a little round top earlier with the Confederative one would have changed the direction? Right, So all of that
kind of stuff. Um, there's then this part is true, which is like China, Um, their development was actually stinied by their invention of paper because used it for everything, which was great for them at the time, but then they weren't able to advance and discover glassmaking, which held them back
in many other ways. Right. So along those same lines, there is there's called I think it's called like the leap frog technological leap frog effect where for example, a lot of countries in Africa they don't have cable TV, but they are more saturated on a per capita basis with Wi Fi because that was the technology of the day when they could afford to start putting that stuff
in. And there is an argument about Japan that because it was so devastated much like Europe after World War Two, that they got to rebuild with new stuff instead of being locked in like old cities around the world that you like New York city. That's like a great saturation of satellite dishes and antenna because running cable into all those old buildings was virtually impossible. You know what that is A that is a as somebody who is a huge fan of history,
that makes abundance. I remember reading a story about South Korea and they were talking about, um, how forward they were able to push technology because part of it was other countries wanting to basically give a big f you to China and North Korea so that they you know, they essentially we were willing to make investments within the South Korean community, which allowed obviously that to grow into what it is. So, yeah, I think you're one hundred percent right
man. Yeah, But of course if you try to have nuanced discussions like that, people start saying, oh, so, what you know, nuking Japan and we're dropping an atomic bomb, you know, on two cities and killing all those people, like that was a good thing. Like, like, I'm not saying that's a good thing obviously, although it did I think, uh it did change. It changed the outcome of the war obviously, and it was really the only way to end it and to protect as many
lives as possible. That would have been lost in uh, you know, uh street to hand to hand combat fighting for years and years and years. So I mean war is the breakdown of law. So there there's no there's
no more constraints, right, so people rightfully want to avoid it. And this actually ties back to sort of that censorship argument, which is that if we cannot have these political disagreements, even about sensitive, nuanced topics, then then all you're saying is Okay, I can't comment on this thing, but
you can. And that's just a mite makes right argument. And so the only thing left, the only recourse left is violence, is revolution, and that's what is that that's what we want to avoid, even because it's not. That's what the moral thing to do. If you can, if you can avoid violence and solve your differences with words, then that's the pre rible route to take. Yeah, I think there. And they do this every year on the anniversary of essentially that week when we did drop the two bombs.
So and it's generally some moonbat professor writes this thing where they're like, we didn't need to do that, and and and they are disingenuous about the calculations that went into it, like they painted as uh, you know, a bunch of dudes in uniform wanted to try out their new toy rather than you know, the evaluation that by doing this and putting to stop, um, they had what they estimated to be the body count, and it was far more significant should that war have drug out. So but I want to
real quickly go into different This is why I held you over. Um. Did you see the op ed piece in the letter from the Harvard law professor Mark Tushnitt Tushant Tushnit. Yeah, I've seen his name coming across the trensom,
but I have not. I have not explored that topic yet. All right, real quick, I'll just give you the readers digest because this is what he's advocating, President Biden. Do Tushnet who is he said some really in saying crap over the years, But if you want to talk about something that would literally push us to the brink of us not existing as a country
anymore, here it is. He is urging President Biden to quote disobey gravely mistaken Supreme Court rulings and instead adopt the official policy position that the White House will do what they're going to do based on their own interpretation of the Constitution. Um, he's got like six bullet points or something. I told the
story and I just kind of glanced at it. I did not go in depth because I think you know, people are yeah, people are pointing out like what you're doing, I mean, which is kind of like ironic here with what was Joe Biden positioned as a restore to the norms? Right, how dare Donald Trump blow up all the norms? And of course this kind of gets to that iron woke law of projection, which is they are guilty of that which they accuse you, And this is another example of it.
They were also worried about Donald Trump's mean tweets and look at this, He's violating all of the norms and this is not how we do things. And now you've lost control of the Supreme Court and all of a sudden, norms right out the window. And we're going to not basically just ignore the Supreme Court. And yeah, sure, what could go wrong? I mean, you're overturning what one hundred hundred fifty years of norms? Well yes, and you know it reminds me of the Harry Reid decision right where, but that
thing would pale in comparison to this. But yeah, every president then would come in and go because that would be the new standard, right, because Republicans would do it if they got the White House. Let's just be abundantly honest. If that was the new standard, they go all right, well we're going to do this thing, and pandemonium ensues. Well yeah, I mean, and for the people who were such the big defenders of democracy, and you know, I'm high alert for any kind of sign of um of
fascism. Well you know, and this is what I is what I argued to my liberal friends back when Trump was in office, when they would start talking about gun control. So why would you want to give Donald Trump bull of your guns? If he's a fascist? Why wouldn't you want to have
some weaponry to protect yourself when he takes everything over? And you know, always be thinking in those terms that there's that there's going to come a day when someone you don't like is in charge and pulling the levers of government, and whatever power you give your guy, he's not going to be there forever and someone else is going to be pulling those levers, and you, you know, you better make darn sure that that you've not over empowered them to
ruin the country and your lives. And this would be a really good example of it. What if Trump wins next year, you're going to so he gets to ignore all Supreme Court rules. Well, they're arguing that he literally is outlining a plan to seize quote sees control of the government, and basically everything that he proposed falls under the veil of that branch of government, you
know, the executive branch. They may not like it, where they're essentially able to change out some bureaucrats, but this is this is essentially deciding that one of the branches doesn't exist anymore, and well for now, if we can exist, if they control it, that's the key because and it really
lays bare the lie that they were always like, oh judicial independence. No, they were fine making those arguments when they had control of the courts and were able to divine new meanings behind you know, one hundred year old texts. That was fine. Now that they don't control it anymore, it has to be undermined. All right, Pete, I appreciate you hanging on. Got a couple of the gens and there I got a roll man. We'll
talk next week. Okay, have a great weekend, thanks guys. Yeah, yeah, and let's go ahead and chat weather with racet agent real quick. What's going on, sir. Now, it's pretty nice out there this morning, and the changes will be a little drop in humidity and temperatures over the weekend. Probably he's still going to climb up eighties, low nineties today, a little cloud at times, otherwise sunshine, more clouds to the west
out into the mountains. I wouldn't be shocked if there's a shower east as you get out near the outer banks, with the front coming through around early afternoon through the try in the triangle, then heading east later during peak heating. Saturday, partial sunshine, there might be a sprinkle of rain, upper eighties, and then on Sunday it's upper eighties around maybe a shower thuder shower in the afternoon. Humidity is probably coming down a little bit over the weekend,
with the temperatures coming down just a bit. Next week, they'll look sunny and hot starting about Tuesday, and that he could last potentially for the rest of the week. All right, appreciate it. Have a good weekend, sir. Yeah, and we'll come back and chat with Jeff Bellinger next, Hang on Your Day, Smarter one oh six one FM Talk and News Talk nine four five WPTI more with Casey starts now all right, Good morning. Casey, The Federal Trade Commission has paused its in house trial against the sixty

Take care of all right there you go, Jeff Flinger from Bloomberg News. Before we head into the weekend. Unfortunately, we got to do some canceling, and frankly this is going to impact quite a few of you. It's two taker bills canceling. According to this piece in The Guardian yesterday, traditional wives.
Yep, traditional wives canceled. So I'm not gonna have enough time to read all the goodness from this article, but basically the gist is the traditional wife subculture shares aesthetics and values, including long floral dresses let's see here so long, basically modest dresses that are problematic. Also, the desire by some women to stay at home and quote serve their spouse domestically and sexually, all problematic.
So the gist is, according to the feminist author here, any you know, women who dress modestly, women who choose to stay in the home, and we're you know, uh caregiving because they get into kids too, you know, women who feel that they have to have more than one kid are tru referred to as trad wives and our victims. Basically the aligned with traditional Christian values of marriage and family that previously shaped our civilization and subjugated women.
So, any of you listening who are going to wear an outfit today, Any of the ladies listening, you're going to wear an outfit today where you can't literally see your womb? You are a victim of the patriarchy. So and God forbid you stay home. But by the way, it's not just stay at home wives. It's also women who feel that they have an obligation to either be the primary caregiver or do the majority of chores around the home. So even if you have a job, you're on the list here.
But yeah, everything just so dumb. And then at the very end, she also points out that the majority of those who would fall into this are quote unquote white, and she writes, and of course they're white. So, um, if I guess if you're a white woman wearing a modest dress or a long floral dress of any sort today and you enjoy taking care of your kids and or your spouse, um, you're you're the problem. So don't do that. Ah, I don't know anything about the author here.
Ross, what do you think the over under is on? This person is happy in their personal life? Oh dude, they're miserable. She even looks miserable. In her head shot here, and even their cats are miserable. How all the cats? That's like fifteen cats. Yeah, you gonna mentioned cats in here. I didn't see anything about cats, So that's crazy. Man. All the things you could write about problematic and modern culture, and your beef is with people who are happy and don't flood it up around
town, God forbid. All right, on that note, little Chap Monday
