Episode description

Mary Robertson and Samantha Stark are the showrunner and director, respectively, behind The New York Times Presents "Framing Britney Spears." The documentary chronicles Britney Spears' life in the spotlight – from her teen pop stardom, through her relationships, mental illness, custody battles – eventually unveiling the mystery behind her 13-year conservatorship, where her father has controlled her business, medical, and most personal decisions in her life.

Mary and Samantha join the show to fill in additional gaps between some of the infamous moments in Spears' life. They explain why it's so important that women were the ones behind the lens for this project, what's next in Spears' conservatorship battle, and how the landscape has changed (and not) for today's young women in the spotlight. Plus, we get some behind-the-scenes insight on why certain scenes were included, and which were left on the editing floor.
