Rebecca Sugar

Rebecca Sugar (she/they) is an animator, director, screenwriter, producer, and songwriter. They are best known for creating the award-winning series Steven Universe on Cartoon Network, which has not only resonated with children, but teens, adults, and the LGBTQIA community alike. On this episode of “Just Something About Her,” Rebecca describes how they created Steven Universe as a personal journey of self-discovery, what they learned, and behind-the-scenes insights on how some of the characters and their experiences were shaped by their own life.
