Episode description

Kara Swisher is known as “Silicon Valley’s most feared and well-liked journalist” – a name she’s earned since moving to San Francisco in the 1990s as one of the first reporters on the internet beat at The Wall Street Journal. Now she’s also known for hosting numerous podcasts, such as the New York Times’ new show “Sway” and Vox Media’s “Pivot” with co-host Scott Galloway.

After the insurrection at the Capitol, and the subsequent focus on social media’s role in helping foment and plan the violence, Jennifer invites Kara on the show to make some sense of it all. They discuss the ways in which the Biden/Harris administration can hold tech companies accountable for misinformation and violence, why it’s really not about free speech, and why there should be a one-time wealth tax for tech CEOs who have made inordinate amounts of money during the pandemic. Also, Kara shares why women should stop self-editing, and how she prevents imposter syndrome.
