Episode description

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot knew the challenges ahead when she was elected to run one of America’s most populous, politically turbulent, and segregated cities. But she never expected a teacher's strike, global pandemic, historic recession, and months-long protests against police violence.

Mayor Lightfoot joins Jennifer on "Just Something About Her" to discuss what it's like to lead during these critical times and how Chicago is faring. She shares some of the lessons she learned on her journey from growing up in small-town Ohio, to becoming a lawyer in Chicago, and now as the first Black woman and first openly gay mayor of Chicago.
