I don't know what it is about ice skating that fascinates me because I know nothing about it, but there is something that just draws me in and that is why I thoroughly enjoyed this book and all the drama and intensity that it comes with.

I have been reading a lot in this genre lately, and I had some... loud opinions about this one.
Talking about this historical fiction that has been on my TBR for YEARS
I figured it was about time I tried to explain this to myself, and therefore you all will get to see my process of basically discovering I have no system and there's no rhyme or reason to the way I rate books and it is incredibly inconsistent across the board.
I loooooved this book! I think it touches on so many important topics and really makes you think about the ethics involved in writing and developing ideas for art.
This is a book I thought I'd love because I love the story of Queen Victoria, but I started this book and then it sat untouched for MONTHS while I read other books and I am pretty sure it was the instigator of my reading slump mid 2024... but anyway I finally did get around to finishing it and these are my thoughts.
