[SPEAKER_01]: We're sitting up as making Sam. [SPEAKER_01]: Taking you to jungle lands. [SPEAKER_01]: Bingo's pride and fills the air. [SPEAKER_01]: Every week we're always there. [SPEAKER_01]: Touchdown's tackles all the place. [SPEAKER_01]: Hangles more in every way. [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry's news and game recaps. [SPEAKER_01]: Jungle juice, we've reached those gaps. [SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Jungle Juice. [SPEAKER_01]: Making sound like breaking loose. [SPEAKER_01]: Cincinnati, here on call.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hangles stand tonight, a stall. [SPEAKER_03]: I had thought, no, what's happening? [SPEAKER_03]: Welcome in, make to jungle juice podcast. [SPEAKER_03]: How are you doing? [SPEAKER_00]: We're off to a wonderful start today. [SPEAKER_00]: Great start. [SPEAKER_00]: Great. [SPEAKER_00]: Sam's flying in by the seat of his pants here. [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, we're a couple of minutes late. [SPEAKER_00]: doing, doing great here till we're doing all right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a good nine p.m. [SPEAKER_00]: start time, by the way, I'm big and of it. [SPEAKER_03]: As somebody who has another podcast in now, fifty eight minutes, I'm not necessarily loving it. [SPEAKER_03]: And honestly, it's it's even worse that since I'm coming from a work event, which is why we're running a little bit late today. [SPEAKER_03]: So I haven't had a chance to eat anything yet. [SPEAKER_03]: And I was hoping that my work event was going to end a little bit earlier.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was talking to a friend. [SPEAKER_03]: And they were having Taco Bell for dinner. [SPEAKER_03]: And I was like, man, that sounds good. [SPEAKER_03]: I was like, I could, I could say bye there. [SPEAKER_03]: I could eat that, you know, eat that really quick. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, I could eat myself a burrito, have a good jungle juice and I'd be ready to roll. [SPEAKER_03]: But no, I didn't have time for that. [SPEAKER_03]: So now make, I'm grouchy.
[SPEAKER_03]: So how's that make you feel? [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's going to make for a really good show, Gorman. [SPEAKER_00]: You want to switch roles today. [SPEAKER_00]: Usually I'm the Grouchy guy. [SPEAKER_00]: You're the optimist. [SPEAKER_00]: We can switch it around. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll be positive for an episode. [SPEAKER_00]: That's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: Can you? [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to try my darnedest two. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, like you, you want to know how much I'm flying by the seat of my pants right now. [SPEAKER_03]: Like I've got my, you know, my show, Dr. Pepper, I haven't even opened it yet, man. [SPEAKER_03]: That's how you know it is like it is flying by the seat of my pants. [SPEAKER_03]: No question about that, but we got a good show planned for you today. [SPEAKER_03]: Our big topic is we're going to break down the fifty three man roster our projections.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm assuming we're going to be pretty similar because when I was looking at this of the fifty three there's not a lot of position battles. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm saying what fifty are set in stone maybe [SPEAKER_00]: I, yeah, I found maybe two to roster roster spot battles.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then maybe you've got some decisions that we'll talk about of this is like, okay, how many tight ends are you're keeping, how many, you know, some of those questions that the Bengals have to ask, we'll talk about that. [SPEAKER_03]: But then also there's like a decent amount of news that we actually have to talk about for the Bengals, which is weird that, you know, we're at this point in the in the off season.
[SPEAKER_03]: And typically news you would think would be more [SPEAKER_03]: Next week, but there's a decent amount, and I think we started off. [SPEAKER_03]: When talking about something that came out last week, but since we had the jails last week, we didn't get the chance to talk about it. [SPEAKER_03]: And that was the quarterback. [SPEAKER_03]: The Netflix documentary came out almost the last Monday or Tuesday. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I finished it. [SPEAKER_03]: I finished it Monday.
[SPEAKER_03]: You finished it last night, correct? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think we binge watched and wife Sam was actually really enjoying watching it, which was nice to for her to enjoy something that I love so much. [SPEAKER_03]: So I think you do a good job at making it human interest as well as just what they did. [SPEAKER_00]: They did a really good job because I feel like this quarterback thing is everything that hard knocks kind of lacks.
[SPEAKER_00]: In that regard, like you're not getting enough behind the scenes on hard knocks, especially now when it's so watered down with the three hard knocks, I guess seasons a year with the in season, the preseason and the in the off season. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just so watered down. [SPEAKER_00]: There's too many players to go through where you're not really getting any of the of the personal things that are going on with this.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're really getting like an intricate [SPEAKER_00]: detail of of what these guys are going through throughout the course of entire season. [SPEAKER_03]: And then I feel like work knocks usually would like to focus on the little guys. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, yeah, like the no names on the rock. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, remember, like, like, the deep door seat was ED Dorsey didn't he have a really big role in the bangles.
[SPEAKER_03]: Is that an, and am I pulling that name correctly? [SPEAKER_00]: I honestly can't even remember the hard-knocked fangles seasons. [SPEAKER_00]: They've been, you know, it's been a long time. [SPEAKER_03]: Chris Presley had a big, there's a good name for you, a big feature in there when the bangles. [SPEAKER_03]: But like, it's not like they were focusing on Andy Dalton at that time, which in their defense, it's not like Andy Dalton in twenty thirteen, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: thirteen was very interesting. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, twenty twelve. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not like Andy Dalton was very interesting at that point. [SPEAKER_03]: And then they put a lot of emphasis on Chad, you know, because it was nine hard knocks. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Now, like this allowed Burroughs personality to shine and I think it really did. [SPEAKER_00]: It did.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I came away because I was wondering, you know, there's sometimes where you kind of wonder after watching Burrough play for a few years and he's getting a little more national media attention and whatnot. [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, you know, it was the same kind of coming to his head, you know, because you're seeing him and that the fashion shows you're seeing him at the [SPEAKER_00]: at the Rick Rubin white party, right, and all those things.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he's still like, you know, he's still, he's a very down-to-earth guy. [SPEAKER_00]: He's really chill. [SPEAKER_00]: You obviously care, you see how much he cares about the game, how much he cares about, you know, the success of the team. [SPEAKER_00]: He still has the charisma, you know, it's just, I mean, I came away with the, I came away more in Preston, Joeboro than I think I could have came away.
[SPEAKER_03]: My, what I wrote down here is one of my main takeaways was, and it's not like this is going to change this opinion, but it like further solidify, but there's not a quarterback in the NFL. [SPEAKER_03]: I want to overdo a burrow. [SPEAKER_00]: No, nobody. [SPEAKER_03]: There's not a single quarterback in the NFL, not a single one. [SPEAKER_03]: He is the perfect quarterback for Cincinnati Bengals.
[SPEAKER_03]: A couple of the other things that I noticed a lot was made, and I think we talked about it when it happened. [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, but you got to see more of the interaction between Zack Taylor and Joe Burrow. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I guess it wasn't after the Titans game, but towards the end of the Titans game where I thought Joe Burrow was going to kill his offensive lineman.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I thought he was just going to commit a murder because he was getting very frustrated and honestly to be expected like it was not going well. [SPEAKER_03]: But there was a lot of that that, you know, Joe Burrow is yelling at Zack Taylor. [SPEAKER_03]: He was mad, they're fighting. [SPEAKER_03]: I was like, I don't think that was. [SPEAKER_03]: And I think watching that clip, I think both sides handled it well.
[SPEAKER_03]: Joe Burrow was frustrated as he should be and Zack Taylor handled it the way a head coach probably should have handled it, which was I understand that there's still some positive things for us to take. [SPEAKER_03]: We're going to talk about this and we're going to get it fixed. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, I think that like you said, I think it was just Joe Burrow kind of venting to Zack Taylor in a way. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it was just.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know if Joe was necessarily mad at Zack Taylor. [SPEAKER_00]: I think he was just mad at the situation in general of, hey, we have all these mental mistakes going on the Titans game. [SPEAKER_00]: And we're what in week, fourteen, like what the hell are we doing here? [SPEAKER_00]: Um, and, you know, and I think that I obviously burrow had it had a right to be pretty pissed off about what was going on.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, and, you know, in Zack Taylor, I think did a fine job of trying to kind of diffuse the situation. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, so yeah, I mean, I didn't think, uh, [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, it wasn't a huge blow up or anything like that. [SPEAKER_00]: The team ended up rattling off what three additional wins to end the season, the Browns, the Brockers, the Steelers, so that obviously didn't derail the team by any means.
[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, I really enjoyed to watching his interactions with teammates, especially with T and Jamar. [SPEAKER_03]: Like you can tell, those three guys really get along. [SPEAKER_00]: Those guys have like a special bond, which is crazy because it seems like, you know, there's some, there's some instances where he's hanging out with other guys, like he has the, he has the offensive lineman ever to his house or whatever, and he's, you know, chumming with them.
[SPEAKER_00]: The majority of the time, it's him tomorrow and in T really just hanging out. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're the big three. [SPEAKER_00]: They have a great bond together. [SPEAKER_00]: It was nice seeing just those three kind of interact with each other for sure. [SPEAKER_03]: The break-in to I felt the way they, I felt like handle that very well.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then, I mean, that humanized Joe Burrow, I think in a lot of ways, because listen, can we all relate to them stealing all of our jewelry, you know, and him being like, oh, it's okay? [SPEAKER_03]: Like, no, but we can relate to having something really good happening in life and then immediately life is making you in a face. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, yeah, insert whatever scenario, or maybe you've dealt with a break in.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know I remember when I was in college, Mick, I had somebody break into my car. [SPEAKER_03]: And they stole all of my change and they stole one thing that I still wish I could have back. [SPEAKER_03]: They stole something that my grandma had given me. [SPEAKER_03]: It was like a little medallion. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, um, I don't know if I can really have. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it does stick. [SPEAKER_00]: And it may be not in the terms of the break in.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know if that's the actual breaking itself is what really humanized Joe for me. [SPEAKER_00]: It's in what made me instead of, you know, more empathetic, more sympathetic because we do not unless if we're magically famous from this podcast. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, that we probably won't have to really deal with is, you know, we just bought it on the street all the time for this podcast.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but Joe is such a high profile public figure at this point, probably the highest profile guy the Bengals have had at least since Chad. [SPEAKER_03]: I think, you know, I remember it was Lance McAllister. [SPEAKER_03]: somebody or it was a Paul Dainer. [SPEAKER_03]: Paul Dainer Jr. [SPEAKER_03]: in one of his articles in the last week or two. [SPEAKER_03]: I think I might have been his review about quarterback.
[SPEAKER_03]: He said, you know, Joe Burrow is probably the most popular slash famous athlete in Cincinnati sports history. [SPEAKER_00]: It's between him and Chad for sure.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think he was saying like yeah, between between those three guys I would say and so he's been in the public sphere for a good six seven years at this point and [SPEAKER_00]: You know, having your privacy in a sense violated like that, you know, people knowing exactly where your house is, which people can find with research tools and stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it wasn't really much of a secret that he was building a house in Coldstream, which I think is where the break-in actually took place. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, but just watching him just be so disturbed by that because you just you don't get any privacy now. [SPEAKER_00]: It is like, I think I was talking to Sam while I was watching this on the couch while him and Jamar were having that breakfast or whatever with their families.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just here thinking anytime Joe Burrow goes out to dinner. [SPEAKER_00]: in the Cincinnati area he has to be going to a place with the private room because he wouldn't be able to to really be alone with the you know with his with the people he cares about there so it's just you know you're making so much money you're living your dream but like [SPEAKER_03]: I love that the, you know, there was the picture. [SPEAKER_03]: This is probably been a couple of years ago.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was when they were doing one of the free agency recruiting visits. [SPEAKER_03]: And you remember that he showed up to like the precinct or downtown to rubies in like a SpongeBob sweatshirt. [SPEAKER_03]: Remember that or something like that? [SPEAKER_03]: There's only one man in Cincinnati that can show up to Jeff rubies in like a SpongeBob sweatshirt and sweatpants and then be like, it's okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Come on in.
[SPEAKER_03]: The rest of us, if you did that, they'd be like, okay, sir, you need to go home now. [SPEAKER_03]: Go back to the box on the street or something like that. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, it's just kind of funny. [SPEAKER_03]: Then really quick.
[SPEAKER_03]: Goff and cousins, because we don't have a lot of time to talk about this, but Goff and cousins, I think they both came off likable, cousins, a dork, but I think everyone kind of knew that, but I think Jared Goff seems like he's a pretty good dude. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you kind of got the dorkiness from court court cousins in the first quarterback season. [SPEAKER_00]: So it was pretty much more of the same.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was really kind of heartbreaking watching him, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: go through the process of hurting his elbow and playing so poorly to the point where he ends up getting benched for Michael Panics Jr., which was the right move by the Falcons. [SPEAKER_00]: Panics had a great three-game stretch to end the season. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, it really was kind of heartbreaking to see that happen to Kirk because you kind of just see how much he loves his job, he loves the game.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and the same with Jared Goff, I mean, I think Jared Goff is just the most normal guy I've ever seen play quarterback, I think, like he's just he's just a guy. [SPEAKER_00]: He's a normal dude. [SPEAKER_03]: And it's almost three to swimsuit issue life. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes. [SPEAKER_03]: And I think they just had their baby, too. [SPEAKER_00]: They did. [SPEAKER_00]: We had an, uh, moment at the very end watching Mrs. Goff that the, I don't know her first name.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is Goff. [SPEAKER_00]: First, and I think that's Kristen Goff. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: I think that's right. [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, I think overall, I think it was really, really entertaining. [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, and I would hope Burrow does it again. [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, I don't know that he will. [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, but I think it also, I think Chase on the wide receiver version could be kind of fun.
[SPEAKER_00]: Is he going to be on that he's not going to be on the season right this uh there's but not been any confirmation is to it is so yeah they've already confirmed I think it's uh George Kittles on it I know that for sure oh yeah you know you're right no I don't think you're not a Adam's maybe um now that you're saying that I do do remember that some jettos I think jets is on it and I bet if he does it then Chase is going to do I'm on raw I'm on raw is on it too
[SPEAKER_03]: Other Bengals news for us to hit. [SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk very quickly about the Schmart Stewart thing, you know, yesterday it comes out from some account that, oh, he can put some claws in that he's going back to school at Texas A&M and then he blah blah blah. [SPEAKER_03]: For one, can we please like actually verify accounts when we're just to share it? [SPEAKER_03]: Like just because an account has a lot of followers. [SPEAKER_03]: doesn't mean they're reputable.
[SPEAKER_00]: We are truly living in the misinformation stage of life. [SPEAKER_03]: And it's somebody that, like, and, you know, for those free, if you're not aware, you know, I work in the media industry. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, I admit it's small town, but, you know, I'm a journalist. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, I am like here. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, it might not be at these scale, but these people are now not a journalist on this podcast because we don't know what the hell we're talking about.
[SPEAKER_03]: But, but here could be, we could be journalists. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but like, [SPEAKER_03]: If I'm reporting on something here, it's because I've done the information and so on. [SPEAKER_03]: And if somebody just starts viewing stuff about the local high school here, and I'm like, well, you're taking away my credibility by doing that. [SPEAKER_03]: That's doing the same thing to the people that work really hard on this.
[SPEAKER_03]: But he is working out at Texas A&M, which I don't think is like any worry by any stretch, because they're probably not back to practice. [SPEAKER_03]: He lives in Texas. [SPEAKER_03]: So he just wants a place to work out at. [SPEAKER_03]: So why not? [SPEAKER_03]: But I mean, for you, what is the point that worry sets in? [SPEAKER_03]: Or is it already set in? [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's already somewhat set in. [SPEAKER_00]: It's been a really messy situation.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Bengals are throwing contract language into a rookie contract that they haven't necessarily thrown into rookie contracts before. [SPEAKER_00]: It sounds like, based off of my light research, it is unprecedented in general. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't hear many NFL teams really doing this. [SPEAKER_00]: which is this default clause, you know, the clause where if Schermar steward has any, you know, conduct, you know, any conduct that's perceived as detrimental to the team.
[SPEAKER_00]: They can void his guarantees pretty much in his contract. [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know why they're throwing it in this contract now as opposed to contracts and in previous years. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I mean, I think it's a really messy situation. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I can't really necessarily blame Shamar for holding out if that's indeed the case. [SPEAKER_00]: But I just, it's a rookie contract. [SPEAKER_00]: Why are we having these types of dilemmas in here?
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, it's crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: Crazy talk. [SPEAKER_03]: Let's end of a positive note as far as news going earlier today. [SPEAKER_03]: Officially, Lamar Parish and Dave Lampum are getting inducted into the Bengals Ring of Honor votes. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we nailed it. [SPEAKER_03]: Good job, better selves in the back there. [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, I think Bengals fans nailed it. [SPEAKER_03]: I think they got right.
[SPEAKER_00]: I heard Lamar listening to, uh, I think Matt Wagner played a clip from him. [SPEAKER_00]: And I listen to Lamp. [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't get to listen to Lamar. [SPEAKER_03]: I ran out of time this afternoon. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's actually pretty poetic because you voted for lap, I voted for Lamar. [SPEAKER_00]: Lamar just sounded super stoked to be a part of the ring of honor here, and just sounded really honored, very humble about it, seemed like a really nice guy.
[SPEAKER_03]: And Lappam was the same way. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, just on how much you meant. [SPEAKER_03]: And both are extremely well deserved. [SPEAKER_03]: And I'm glad they're both getting their flowers at the jet scheme that we'll be coming out here. [SPEAKER_03]: What is that like late October last Sunday in October? [SPEAKER_03]: I believe so. [SPEAKER_03]: I think it's like the twenty fourth or no. [SPEAKER_03]: That's not right. [SPEAKER_03]: The twenty sixth.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's correct. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: That's the news. [SPEAKER_03]: kind of a newsy show so far. [SPEAKER_03]: There's quite a bit for us to get to with that. [SPEAKER_03]: But now I think we go ahead and let's give our fifty three man roster projections here, which I think we're going to whip through decently quick because I mean, like quarterback, there's no discussion for us to have. [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, no. [SPEAKER_03]: Jake Browning and Logan Wood side are you two quarterbacks. [SPEAKER_03]: They're going to release Joe Burrow because what he's what he's done. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Shit. [SPEAKER_00]: I have a patent thorn on my three man roster. [SPEAKER_03]: How do you even exist? [SPEAKER_00]: The fifth. [SPEAKER_00]: As Robert quarterbacks, it's Cam Newton, Peyton Thor. [SPEAKER_03]: I have a friend who is an Auburn fan.
[SPEAKER_03]: And when the Bangle signed him, he texted me and said, I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_03]: I was like, oh my. [SPEAKER_03]: He's just a, he's just a campbody and it's that bad. [SPEAKER_00]: I should have just gotten rock band a grip while we're at it. [SPEAKER_03]: He's retired. [SPEAKER_03]: He's retired. [SPEAKER_03]: He's retired from football. [SPEAKER_03]: Running back wise. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know that there's really that much competition, but I mean, did you keep for running backs?
[SPEAKER_03]: I did. [SPEAKER_03]: So you're keeping Zach Moss, Chase Brown, Smog API, Ryan, and Taj Brooks. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: I assume, right? [SPEAKER_03]: I don't. [SPEAKER_03]: because I mean, you're looking at, there's only, I mean, Chase Brown is made, I mean, he's one of the safest players in the entire team. [SPEAKER_03]: It's much AP Ryan is going to make the roster. [SPEAKER_00]: I would say the same for Taj Brooks. [SPEAKER_03]: You would think so.
[SPEAKER_03]: In Zack Moss, probably he's going to make the roster since they restructured it. [SPEAKER_03]: Like you're thinking since they restructured his contract, more than likely he's probably going to stick on. [SPEAKER_00]: That's exactly why I kept Zack Moss on. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: In Taj Brooks, [SPEAKER_03]: you're thinking, I mean, you're not gonna release him because he very well could get claimed from someone else.
[SPEAKER_00]: He could claim to then also he's you have roster control for the guy for four years like that. [SPEAKER_00]: That's that's a guy that can fill your roster for a little bit. [SPEAKER_03]: Now the wild card to me is we have not heard anything about Zach Moss's health. [SPEAKER_03]: Which could mean anything. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, it could mean anything. [SPEAKER_03]: Now we'll start to hear more about it. [SPEAKER_03]: But like I guess he could be a pop candidate.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then maybe that opens up some different things. [SPEAKER_03]: Because we don't really know, I mean, a neck that any, you never really know, right? [SPEAKER_00]: See, I would think it's probably, and this is a peer speculation that it's probably progressed enough. [SPEAKER_00]: It's held this probably progressed enough to the point where they felt comfortable working out, you know, another, another deal with him or at least reworking his deal to keep him on the team.
[SPEAKER_03]: Why'd receiver wise? [SPEAKER_03]: This to me was my one question of the entire, like, I still have not filled in what I'm gonna do as far as why receiver going because I think they can go a couple of different, I mean, Chase Higgins, Burton almost surely is safe unless he doesn't stupid. [SPEAKER_03]: Yo, Shibash, and I think Charlie Jones, I think those five are safe. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And then you've got this sixth spot.
[SPEAKER_03]: But what I've gone, you know, you're looking at it and no one really jumps off the pit. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, yet I say a Williams on the roster at times last year. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, does that one roster of majority of the season last year? [SPEAKER_00]: Um, but like December on. [SPEAKER_00]: I thought he was on longer than that because I felt like as soon as they [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to have to pull this up here. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I'm thinking about it as to win.
[SPEAKER_03]: November the eighth. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: So, and he not half the season correct correct. [SPEAKER_03]: And he took over put return duties against the Cowboys. [SPEAKER_00]: That's probably what's going on in the heart returning. [SPEAKER_00]: The decent of the punt returning department. [SPEAKER_00]: Now Charlie Jones is going to be back, you know, and he's your punt returner, but I think that really just Charlie Jones.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not saying helpwise. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, then if you get hurt, then Isaiah Williams is there. [SPEAKER_00]: And there's really no other wide receiver. [SPEAKER_00]: The only other option is you're just rolling with five wide outs, which I don't think that they necessarily will. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that they like Isaiah Williams, and I liked what I saw from Isaiah Williams in small spots last year.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think there's really any other competition, maybe Kendrick prior, but I'm actually... [SPEAKER_03]: Where's my hilltopper? [SPEAKER_03]: I got to wave my towel. [SPEAKER_03]: Mitchell, Pinsley, WKU legend. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he'll be playing for the San Antonio Brahma's next year. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, he's best waters. [SPEAKER_03]: He better than any waters. [SPEAKER_03]: He marshals ever had. [SPEAKER_03]: They are had. [SPEAKER_03]: Nobody worth anything, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Holy, holy. [SPEAKER_00]: All of them. [SPEAKER_03]: Now, Jordan Moore is the one guy to at least keep an eye on. [SPEAKER_03]: He's the wide receiver from Duke. [SPEAKER_03]: To me, you know, last year I made the prediction that Cole Burgess was going to be the training camp darling and that really didn't set out, but he's still on the team.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think Jordan Moore is going to be the guy in the preseason that fans are going to love, but really probably isn't good enough to actually make the roster, but fans are going to be mad when he actually gets cut kind of like a Kendrick prior a couple of years ago. [SPEAKER_03]: Remember, a guy like that, he could maybe slide into that role. [SPEAKER_03]: But what I've been deciding is, and this kind of leads into the tight end position is right now, I only have three tight ends.
[SPEAKER_03]: So what I've been deciding is do I want to keep five wide receivers and four tight ends or six wide receivers and three tight ends? [SPEAKER_00]: See, I've got six and four. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, interesting. [SPEAKER_03]: So you must be taking one less somewhere else. [SPEAKER_03]: So your tight ends is sticky sample Hudson, I think, are probably safe. [SPEAKER_03]: And McLaughlin is the wild card because Eric all is going to be put on the IR.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Those are my, those are my, you see, you're keeping the cloth sample Hudson and McLaughlin. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then, you know, the one question mark was Cam Grande. [SPEAKER_00]: I ended up, and I think I was between Cam Grande or Isaiah Williams. [SPEAKER_00]: making the roster because they did get with five, ten ends last year, but I ended up I ended up sticking with Isaiah Williams instead of Grandi.
[SPEAKER_03]: The Protocamp Grandi is he's not going to get claimed. [SPEAKER_03]: Like you can't imagine him getting claimed. [SPEAKER_03]: And if he does, he's probably a guy that you can get back in three weeks. [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_03]: Like it's not like he's going to be a game changer anywhere with that. [SPEAKER_03]: McLaughlin, he's a guy I really want to see in the preseason because he was one of those guys that you think back last season.
[SPEAKER_03]: We never heard anything about him. [SPEAKER_00]: And he had a good preseason, too. [SPEAKER_00]: I thought, you know, him and Germaine Burton were by far the most impressive. [SPEAKER_00]: I think players on the offense, at least at the skill positions during the preseason last year. [SPEAKER_03]: And like, I think he was active for one game. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, McLaughlin. [SPEAKER_00]: Most inactive a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: I can tell you that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe maybe one game and don't think he played really in that game. [SPEAKER_03]: So that's where I'm kind of curious is to what their trust level is in him. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's why I have him getting cut. [SPEAKER_03]: But him being a practice squad guy because, you know, you're trying to slide him in there. [SPEAKER_00]: He's getting the claims if he gets cut. [SPEAKER_03]: He might, he might.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then Isaiah Williams as my six-wide receiver for offensive linemen. [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, how many offensive linemen did you keep? [SPEAKER_03]: I believe I kept him. [SPEAKER_03]: As did I. So we, we, I assume we probably have the same ten offensive linemen or Lando Brown, Dylan Fairchild, Ted Carrus, Lucas Patrick, a Marius Mimps. [SPEAKER_03]: That's my projection is to what the, the starting line up is going to be day one.
[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, and then Cody Ford, Matt Lee, Jalen Rivers, Cordell, Wilson, and I have Jackson Kirkland. [SPEAKER_00]: I have Jackson Kirkland as well. [SPEAKER_03]: So the same offensive linemen. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think that the battle there is probably going to be between Jackson Kirkland and Devon Cochran for that endoffence of Lyman spot. [SPEAKER_00]: I personally liked Devon Cochran more just because I feel like I've seen better football being played at a Devon Cochran at least.
[SPEAKER_03]: But then you watched quarterback and you thought Joe Burrow was going to kill Devon Cochran. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And also he was like chumming with Jackson Kirkland a little bit at the, uh, uh, and the little kid together at Burrow's house. [SPEAKER_00]: So, uh, [SPEAKER_03]: And then you got Andrew Stuber in there too. [SPEAKER_03]: He's more of an interior guy, but I think has some tackle flexibility.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now Jackson Kirkland is technically listed as a guard right now in the Bengals West. [SPEAKER_00]: So Andrew Stuber might be, you know, it might be really a three man battle for that tenth spot. [SPEAKER_03]: but I think for the most part, we are in agreement here. [SPEAKER_03]: For defensive line, I kept ten defensive lines. [SPEAKER_03]: No, yes, ten defensive line in as well. [SPEAKER_02]: Say it back to nine. [SPEAKER_02]: I know you did.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: So this is where we are going to be different. [SPEAKER_03]: Now imagine our nine of the same and I have, I'm pulling one of my wild cards out. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, you gotta have one or two on here just for fun. [SPEAKER_03]: So I mean, I'm assuming you have Hendrix and it's Stewart on the roster. [SPEAKER_03]: Correct.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Miles Murphy, TJ Slight, McKinley Jackson, Chris Jenkins, B.J. [SPEAKER_03]: Hill, Joseph Osai, right? [SPEAKER_03]: All of those guys on there. [SPEAKER_03]: And then also you could put Senator Johnson, I assume on that list. [SPEAKER_03]: Or do you have Senator Johnson getting cut? [SPEAKER_00]: I have Senator Johnson on the roster.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: So my extra defense of alignment, and I'm down to one or two, one of two guys, and I'm gonna put, I've been going back and forth of, do I want Howard Cross? [SPEAKER_03]: Or do I want Eric Gregory? [SPEAKER_03]: And I went with Eric Gregory. [SPEAKER_03]: And I think it's good. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: He played well at Arkansas. [SPEAKER_03]: He's an older, more experienced interior defensive linemen.
[SPEAKER_03]: But Howard Cross has the one thing that no other player on the defense has. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I guess other than Logan Wilson. [SPEAKER_03]: And that experience working without golden. [SPEAKER_03]: algal knows what he has an hour cross and and if he brought him in as an undrafted free agent that clearly he likes. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but I still want with with Eric Gregory is my guide, but that's one of those that I'm if it's our cross, I'm not going to be surprised.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was kind of between I didn't think that they were. [SPEAKER_00]: I was kind of torn on a adressure a little bit because it seems like they're kind of loaded at the adressure position. [SPEAKER_00]: I ended up cutting cam sample. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how great I feel about that. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to see what the contract ramifications are for cam sample.
[SPEAKER_00]: We signed for one point one million dollars, one year deal. [SPEAKER_00]: So pretty cheap. [SPEAKER_00]: I think he was really invited as a camp invite essentially. [SPEAKER_00]: in probably as an insurance policy in case of Schumer Stewart and Trey Hendricks in just that those contracts situations could so bad that you know, one of them isn't on the team comes up tender. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, that was the one cut like, you know, I guess high level cut I had on the on the team.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I love it. [SPEAKER_03]: How do you know that Cam sample went to two lane? [SPEAKER_03]: How in that like of all people? [SPEAKER_03]: How do you know that? [SPEAKER_03]: I'm intrigued by that, but dead money would be a hundred thousand dollars. [SPEAKER_03]: For, for example, and then you'd be saving one point one. [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I mean, that's really not eight as far as, and even then, the bangles really don't need to worry about the cap.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like they got, like a plenty of room to work with there. [SPEAKER_03]: Line back. [SPEAKER_03]: They don't. [SPEAKER_03]: They don't. [SPEAKER_03]: And I do love that we can say a hundred thousand dollars. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not that much. [SPEAKER_03]: It's just, which it's really not, but it's just wild for us to think. [SPEAKER_00]: Just a year salary for, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: and upper middle class American, I guess. [SPEAKER_00]: That's just three years of my salary, man.
[SPEAKER_03]: Working radio. [SPEAKER_03]: Gotta remember that. [SPEAKER_03]: Linebackers, I kept five. [SPEAKER_03]: But on I guess, did you keep six? [SPEAKER_03]: I kept five. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Logan Wilson, Demetrius Knight, Barrett Carter, and Ornbergs are locks. [SPEAKER_00]: And then that fifth spot. [SPEAKER_00]: is a roster battle between two of your favorite players. [SPEAKER_00]: Muma Jong-Meta and Shaka Hayward.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: And I went with Muma last year. [SPEAKER_00]: So you go with Shaka Hayward. [SPEAKER_00]: Go and Shaka. [SPEAKER_00]: Go and Shaka. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go and Shaka. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go.
[SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go.
[SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go.
[SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: Go. [SPEAKER_00]: This guy can play like when when he's actually being thrown into action like Muma would have some head ass things going on especially in preseason like he was very streaky like he had games where he was just on top of the world.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was making tackles all over the place and then he had games where he just looked absolutely lost in coverage. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, and I'm trying to see did Muma have more snaps than then Shaka Hayward last year. [SPEAKER_00]: I had thirty-one snaps last year, Shaka Hayward had twelve. [SPEAKER_00]: If we look at that week, eighteen Steelers game, Shaka had seven, but Muma only had one defense of snap.
[SPEAKER_00]: So where was, was favor, was favor maybe changing a little bit in throughout the season with those two guys. [SPEAKER_00]: I think maybe that is the case. [SPEAKER_03]: That is one of those battles, though, that [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, if shock hawards the guy, I don't think I don't want of us would be like or if Muma's the guy. [SPEAKER_03]: No, I mean, I think that's one of those you flip a coin and it really I don't think the Bengals are worse off either way.
[SPEAKER_03]: on how they make that and you're hoping that whoever you cut, you slide onto the practice squad. [SPEAKER_03]: And I think you're probably able to get that guy onto the practice squad as a fifth linebacker.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, there aren't many teams looking for that back of end linebacker help unless somebody just gets decimated by injuries at the linebacker position during the off season, especially because linebacker's not a position that's valued as much anymore in today's NFL. [SPEAKER_03]: Corners. [SPEAKER_03]: I kept six corners. [SPEAKER_00]: I, uh, lived all my defensive backs. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: One, two out of glory. [SPEAKER_03]: Did you keep ten defensive backs?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's probably this, well, there's a, there's somewhat of a roster battle position. [SPEAKER_03]: Quarterback six is the, uh, is, is what kind of worries me a little bit. [SPEAKER_03]: Because CTV, DJ Turner, Dax Hill, Josh Newton, Desha and Anthony, Gino Stone, George Battle, Tyson Anderson are all locks. [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: And then DJ Ivy, I think, is pretty close to a log.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have always played one. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And then there's that other corner back position. [SPEAKER_00]: I was at Marco Wilson or Jalen Davis. [SPEAKER_00]: I went with Marco Wilson. [SPEAKER_00]: I also went with Marco Wilson. [SPEAKER_00]: Do I feel great about that? [SPEAKER_00]: Not really. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It's probably going to be. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I would feel a lot better about that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'd rather just have him start anyways, like that's. [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's better than any other nickel back on the team like playing nickel. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah, he may have taken a slight step back last year, but it wasn't like he had a bad season. [SPEAKER_00]: I any stretch. [SPEAKER_03]: Marco Wilson though, like, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: To me, this is where, and I feel like you could say this about just about every NFL team out there, this is where the Bengals are going to be looking on the waiver wire. [SPEAKER_03]: They're going to be looking for somebody who has cut a corner and hoping that they can maybe get lucky and find an Eli Apple. [SPEAKER_00]: They're going to buy something next. [SPEAKER_00]: Marco Wilson. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Or the next, uh, Sydney Jones.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, no, that guy didn't even make the team. [SPEAKER_03]: True. [SPEAKER_03]: But he, they signed him after, uh, they claimed on the waivers, though. [SPEAKER_03]: I think he was on the team for a little bit after they claimed on waivers. [SPEAKER_03]: So in a couple of years ago. [SPEAKER_03]: Specialist wise, I mean, there technically is a battle here. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, McPherson, I don't even think they brought in another kick or a hit day.
[SPEAKER_03]: No. [SPEAKER_03]: Which does that surprise you? [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Rico, I mean, he, make has one of the more solid positions on the team, but there's a long snapper battle. [SPEAKER_03]: Cal Automitis against the guy from Michigan, his name, Wagner. [SPEAKER_00]: Wagner. [SPEAKER_03]: I know you broke down his tape, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he can he can spin that thing. [SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_03]: Great analysis.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's why people watch this podcast. [SPEAKER_03]: They they want that analysis of did you take William Wagner, did you take Cal? [SPEAKER_00]: I took Cal, but really this might be more of a roster battle position than what we thought. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I feel like we've seen like a dip in special teams production on field goal units. [SPEAKER_00]: throughout the past couple of years. [SPEAKER_00]: So is it?
[SPEAKER_00]: And I've heard some, yeah, I've heard some people say, oh, maybe it's an issue with the long snapping, like it's, there seems to be some area of disconnected that unit. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I feel like we've all seen it for the past couple of years. [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I think it is? [SPEAKER_03]: And again, I say this fully admitting that I don't know the special. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what that one. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know anything.
[SPEAKER_00]: We have no knowledge. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, we know nothing. [SPEAKER_03]: Here's what I think it is. [SPEAKER_03]: I think it's that they haven't had any continuity. [SPEAKER_03]: You got to think about, you know, you had Harris, Hubert McPherson, and then you went at a minus Robbins McPherson, and then you went Rico, or Chrisman, and there too, as a holder, can't forget him.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, so you've had all of these different holders, a couple of different long snappers, and they're in the only constant has been McPherson, and even then we had Kate York. [SPEAKER_03]: And there as well. [SPEAKER_03]: So I'm curious whether that lack of continuity is really the driving force by that. [SPEAKER_03]: And maybe even some of the reason why I'm a fierce and had a little bit of a rough season last year.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, part of that, I mean, because you look back to some of the, for one, that was the worst part about quarterback was reliving some of those losses. [SPEAKER_03]: Like just, like, kicking myself. [SPEAKER_03]: But like some of the field goals he missed, [SPEAKER_03]: like bad snap, you know, instead of me just missed because he missed. [SPEAKER_03]: I just was, and then they didn't have to start it off with showing the Super Bowl again.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, I know he lost, we don't need to relive that, you know, yes, Aaron Donald's sacked him. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, we know. [SPEAKER_03]: We don't need to relive that. [SPEAKER_03]: But it, I don't know. [SPEAKER_03]: I, I feel like Adam, I just is, is the leader in that. [SPEAKER_03]: So you're going with Cal? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'll go with Cal. [SPEAKER_03]: I guess William Wagner could do it. [SPEAKER_00]: You just, so all you have two, we have two.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, now we have, I mean, there's a couple of differences. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so we, we're, this exact same on the offense, exact same on offense. [SPEAKER_03]: No, I guess you, how do you have a, where did we miss, oh, you took one less defensive linemen and you took an extra piden. [SPEAKER_03]: So that's how that's how we're doing. [SPEAKER_00]: Right, it's like an extra pass catcher, I guess. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, yeah, I mean, McLaughlin.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: So you took McLaughlin, I didn't, and I took Eric Gregory, and you didn't. [SPEAKER_03]: And then you took Shock Hayward, and I took Mooma. [SPEAKER_00]: And other than that, we're exactly the same way. [SPEAKER_03]: No, I'm picking cow. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're picking cow? [SPEAKER_00]: OK. [SPEAKER_03]: No, I have to have to take cow. [SPEAKER_03]: I can. [SPEAKER_00]: I got his jersey. [SPEAKER_00]: Because then Jersey curse.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why didn't you go back to the Jersey thing? [SPEAKER_03]: And that's why I bought the Long Stapard jersey. [SPEAKER_03]: So if the Jersey curse happens, I'm not that upset. [SPEAKER_03]: Like it is what it is. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, it's going to be OK. [SPEAKER_03]: But there we go. [SPEAKER_03]: That's our fifty-three man prediction. [SPEAKER_03]: It is guaranteed to probably be wrong. [SPEAKER_03]: Because somebody's going to get hurt.
[SPEAKER_03]: Somebody's going to have a really good preseason. [SPEAKER_03]: And they're going to make a waiver claim or two. [SPEAKER_03]: You'd think. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: So who knows who it could possibly be on that. [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, any other parting thoughts here? [SPEAKER_03]: I know we whip through a lot of information. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, this was way less of an exercise than this was last year, I think.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a lot more roster position, question marks last year as opposed to this season. [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, fun exercise again, took about fifteen minutes to rip through, you know? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: I ain't got much else for you. [SPEAKER_00]: If you're playing college football right now. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not about to go do that. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I have to posted, you know, we got to go a little from the press box.
[SPEAKER_03]: We got our final four of our best fast food item. [SPEAKER_03]: So I have another podcast for the final four. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: So do you want to know this? [SPEAKER_03]: So if you want to watch my second podcast from the press box, by all means, follow us on Facebook and YouTube. [SPEAKER_03]: We do that. [SPEAKER_03]: Some other guy joins us. [SPEAKER_03]: Mix, mix, not welcome on that podcast.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we've been doing a bracket of, we started with sixty four fast food items. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, things like the Chipotle burrito bowl, a cookout tray, McGriddles, you know, onion rings from Burger King and so on. [SPEAKER_03]: And we're down to four. [SPEAKER_03]: And here is our matchups tonight, Mac, and I'm curious the way you vote. [SPEAKER_03]: Chicken McNuggets against state traditional taco from Taco Bell. [SPEAKER_00]: What the hell kind of taste buds you guys have?
[SPEAKER_03]: And then a blizzard against McDonald's quarter pounder is our final four. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, Jesus, this is a terrible final four. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm still mad that the Baconator got eliminated by Domino's pepperoni pizza. [SPEAKER_03]: That was a travesty amongst. [SPEAKER_03]: And I like Domino's, but the Baconator not making it past the second round was. [SPEAKER_00]: The Baconator has too much bacon on it. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a huge bacon guy. [SPEAKER_03]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_03]: I think you have to be removed from the show for five seconds for saying something. [SPEAKER_03]: Did you really just say something as too much bacon on it? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: That might be the most un-American thing you've ever said in your life. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just not like I like bacon every now and then. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a huge bacon guy. [SPEAKER_00]: Cincinnati guy in my breakfast choice of meat is gonna.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Get a throw. [SPEAKER_03]: Get a throw. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, shit. [SPEAKER_00]: Got a mark that explicit. [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, we made it. [SPEAKER_00]: We made it. [SPEAKER_00]: You wanted to have minutes. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: You got me talking about. [SPEAKER_00]: Get a bro.
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh. [SPEAKER_00]: God, yeah, I go chicken McNuggets, I guess, but that's a terrible final for I could chicken McNuggets and maybe a Blizzard, I guess I'll do a Blizzard over the quarter pounder. [SPEAKER_00]: You can have an all McDonald's. [SPEAKER_00]: Championship that that's. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I might have to vote for both McDonald's items. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we had some we had some tough ones. [SPEAKER_03]: The Chick-fil-A sandwich got eliminated last week.
[SPEAKER_03]: The quarter pound or not. [SPEAKER_00]: Get out. [SPEAKER_03]: What? [SPEAKER_03]: Which is a correct take. [SPEAKER_03]: Um, I will stay on it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, it is. [SPEAKER_03]: Chick-fil-A is. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not what it's how far in the water make it. [SPEAKER_03]: I love a good walk. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I think the water got eliminated round one. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, no, okay. [SPEAKER_03]: It beat.
[SPEAKER_03]: It beat the stake and shake cheeseburger round one, which was a travesty. [SPEAKER_03]: A travesty. [SPEAKER_03]: The water should have never beaten that. [SPEAKER_03]: And then got beat by the frosty. [SPEAKER_03]: Got beat by Wendy's frosty. [SPEAKER_03]: Like frosty's aren't even good. [SPEAKER_03]: This is why you're not on this podcast because your takes are questionable. [SPEAKER_03]: Where's McDonald's fries that? [SPEAKER_03]: What the McDonald's got?
[SPEAKER_03]: They got eliminated by the McNuggets. [SPEAKER_00]: What? [SPEAKER_03]: Yep. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, God. [SPEAKER_03]: Listen, it's these decisions were to look out tray. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: What's not eliminated by McNuggets round one. [SPEAKER_03]: It was it was our closest. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it's like five or four. [SPEAKER_03]: Yep. [SPEAKER_03]: Yep. [SPEAKER_03]: It's tough. [SPEAKER_00]: Your voters have no taste buds.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it is, it has been an experience, but yeah, so I've got, we've got this here and it's all been down to this because this is what people have wanted to tune into this for. [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, if you want to vote on those two matchups, you can watch the second podcast called from the press box, but that'll start here in about fifteen minutes or so. [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, training camp starts one week from today, which is exciting.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we're finally going to be into where we're actually going to be talking about stuff. [SPEAKER_03]: Just try Hendrix to show up. [SPEAKER_03]: Probably not. [SPEAKER_03]: How about this? [SPEAKER_03]: Let's set a. Does tray Hendrix and have a contract by the final preseason game? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Shamar Stewart by the first preseason game. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just going to be out. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I said I'm the optimist optimist today.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll go. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but with those be your overunders. [SPEAKER_00]: You think like before afters. [SPEAKER_00]: potentially. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like the Trey Hendrickson thing might get worked out before the Schumer steward thing does. [SPEAKER_03]: Let's see, I think the thing with Trey Hendrickson is, is honestly, wouldn't you feel confident if that got done the Friday before the game in Cleveland?
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I feel like he'd be a guy that could, that is keeping enough track of his body and so on that would be able to come in and be decently effective. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Some are steward though, needs every snap. [SPEAKER_03]: He can possibly get in training camp in the preseason and the least, unless it snaps the abs, the more concern I'm going to be about his future.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you kind of have to be effective, too, but another thing you got to think this is a whole new defense. [SPEAKER_00]: It is. [SPEAKER_00]: This is a new defense of steam that's going to be thrown out there. [SPEAKER_00]: You have no idea what new wrinkles, our golden's going to have that Lou and a remote didn't. [SPEAKER_00]: Of open, there's new wrinkles. [SPEAKER_00]: There should be new wrinkles, especially outwards.
[SPEAKER_00]: You would assume there's more wrinkles. [SPEAKER_00]: Just a meter. [SPEAKER_00]: What does the Demetrius night get a get worked out? [SPEAKER_00]: That's another another another. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm assuming that one gets done pretty quick. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm open. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the other second round picks signed yet. [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, I don't know.
