Transcript

Welcome everybody to episode two of Drew hosts the JSB Games Cast. I'm happy to be here and I'm with some of my favorite fellow podcasters today since Rob is out on site on business. But that's okay. Where we've gathered together to bring you another show. Today, we have wonderful Cats Cats. How you doing today? Hello? Thanks? Fine, I'm not doing a whole lot, Thank you, Thank you for taking time. You know I'm join

us today. We always enjoy having me on the show. And as always, we have our wonderful man behind the desk, our wonderful producer, our wonderful Ryan Ryan. How you doing today? Probably doing, guys? Everyone doing all right? Everyone? Everyone doing good. I know, uh, it's been a busy a few days for me, getting some stuff thought and everything, so if I got but hopefully you guys are doing good. I know I'm doing all right. So just ready to talk about some some video

games this week? Yeah, yeah, I am ready to talk about some games. I haven't had too much time to put some time into a lot, but I got some stuff to talk about, all right. But I think we'll let our special guest Tats you know, Lee the Softcats lately honestly, not a lot. But I've been on like this weird retro fighting game bingch as of last month. Okay, I've been playing a lot of rand random old fighters in fight King, mostly like roos. Uh nice that that

dad was well man? Uh I was so managed to emulate Bassara X on my phone of all things. Oh really think that game? Yeah, of course, yeah game game that was um yeah, it was a catcom title that was made by artsis Yeah, which is really surprising, surprising for me my first launch. He said, Hey, they did collect one time, and I can see why I never did it ever again. Access so broken.

But the game feel really nice to play, funny enough, like it feels good to do something's very familiar as well as if you're like a fan of Blaze Blue Guilty Year game, it feels familiar to to to me at least. But god damn that game does not have bricks. It just goes Yeah, I don't I don't have much found in itself. Yep, Like if you can find a way to get it, it might be funny everybody

to play with you. I don't, so I just kind of lap stuff and yeah, like get it gets broken really quickly, I have to use Yeah, And the funny thing that I found out is that why we don't get a bigger but Sarah like Niche Communige going was the game is not emulator possible in a way because the game only existed on the case and there's a somewhat revised version for the PS two and the hoghway they were running on is impossible to emitate on PC. That's why we don't get it on fight K.

So class sucks. I can't play. Other people didn't Hope till didn't Hope till No. Ken run into a similar issue as well, Like I know there was a PS two port way back when, um, but it was also arcade and everything, and I think they finally got it to where it plays on fight K, but it was more the Dreamcast version or something like that. Yeah, something like that, because he's still running off the

flight Cast simulator for hookin. Yeah, and he run a pretty well like it works randomly bricks here and it's kind of like CBS two on non Fight Kid sometimes where he just randomly bricks. Yeah. Speaking of busted fighting games, hoped on oken Oh we have a guy and telas see stands that game like I stand Malcolm games as wild. Yeah, well like, oh, I don't know Kansas like twice this guy's age. Hey look and I was like why, like what what part of your like short life? You decided,

Yeah, this is the game I need to get behind. Yeah, Toki in Finish my Gem stuff right, Oh, like no, I can. I can see the appeal and the white people still play despite being so comically broken. But it's also like after getting into like like the meme stuff, so the infinish and stuff like that, right, like Ryan Toky, good, lord, how do you how do the players do we mend everything? A links? That all links, there's no cancels, all links. It's really tight. Yeah, like every jet, that jet, it's a

link. And they almost wanted from more of the time. Yeah, I don't know how player's doing. It is hot. It's actually a really hot game, guys. Yeah, it's there's actually a pretty good like execution like Barrier. That's what that game is. Actually mad. I'm legitimately mad about that and people that game is people spend time trying to get good at this game. Yeah yeah, and like rey, uh what are the dribble in

Finnis? Those are links. Yeah, those are not easy. And to get to a point where you can start dribbling, you have to break break the combo floor with here by just doing a really long combo at first, then your transition into it. So now how are you guys doing all this? And it's funny too, because like the way it works is like the higher the combo count is, the higher like the character will bounce off the ground and everything, so like that like some funny stuff that they just have

in that game. This is like it's just hysterically comically just like bad, but like it's just so funny and like so fun to watch these long ass infinite combos. And the way they do him is like this is like how does this even? The thing? Like this is definitely before like Q and A and balancing change changes were like well before then oh let's speaking of balance. This is reading significant by his worth mentioning there's a character name missed the

Hart in the game. He's like this pretty giant fat OBEs guy. Yeah, he's the worst character playing the game, but him on player two side is slightly worse than him on him on player one side. Yeah, there's sometimes there for some reason. So so so it's kind of cute he had. Yeah, And sometimes it's like that, Like sometimes there's like weird things where um, a certain character on player two side is like worse or better and stuff like that. I don't like, it's I don't know how that

happens. There's something like that recently Multi Blood type Lumina Mario Mario was the same way. Mario was better on player one side than it was player two side. I thought this would be like a legacy thing. But what Yeah, certain games where that happens, I think, I want to say the same thing. But was also some of the like Marvel three, but I can't remember. In Strive, Bikon has a mix up where on player one side it'll cross up in the corner, but on player two side it will

not. Yeah, yeah, it's true, all right, don't I don't know how that funding games are weird, man, Like they're just a name morphous blob of like mechanics that don't make sense. Uh, that's a sad way to JoJo's home. All you've been playing Jojo as well. So here's the thing. I don't know what is a Jojo before this. It's like I just know the memes, the deos, the time stuffs, the deos mostly the deals. So I no, no, I have no context on

what's everything. But I have two friends who are like JoJo's dance, and I randomly told them. One the guys like five kid has like heritage for the futures like that old that old Jojo game has like really broken like contract and Jojo let's go. So that's the right. Yep, you all picked up the game and it got it went south pretty quickly because now comin matter friends like an Abdomain and my other friends are the normal diomin so we're all

like trying to get good for some reason. H And after like a week, I just casually beating up each other. But like I just went like, hey, why why does this character does this thing? Then it's like do you really want to know? Usually watch the show, so I did. So now also gotcha okay, like like okay things because in the game, like the caameters were doing like really odd shit. I'm like why why really, like why why does this character turn turn people into a kid or

some some stuff like that. And I just kept asking questions, why why why why jo Jo? And They're like, just watch the show, and after like a week of repeating the same phrase of just watch the show and I pull up Netflix and I am now everything in the finding game makes sense to me. Now pretty funny. So once again I have no idea why, but leg I say games tends to be railing kV and Toyo is no different except you have to add negative ating into the game. M Like,

it's almost as if everyone is at all from guilty here. But it makes sense. Yeah, but not everyone has like a stand stand like some of them has like weapons for stand, so they're more like stands change characters, like like one guy named Chaka, he has a sword like he starts with the sword seef like, then you can press the stand button to take the sword out and now he's like a record based character. Before they're just like

a poking zony sony guy. It's different like per character. But if you do have like a stand stand, you can do like coralso go back as and during the super flash you can input like a like a diesel amount buttons and then the stand will do whatever you press out the words, so you can't like program like programming the stand to do something, and then you have

free for movement after that do whatever you want. People use this to stand with you, and it's really annoying, but it seems to be like the metal of the game, like if you ever stand, you're probably at least above average. And as for combos, again that the pretty link hevy as well as like standing like goes into standing heavy is like cut tree frame link something like that. Thinking is special, They're going to stand and then yeah,

combo. Sometimes it is infinite. Sometimes it doesn't, however, because like whenever I think of links, I think of Street four and the Street the four links are fairly easy, yeah, whereas I didn't think links used to exist in order legacy games until I realized, oh they do. They're just really really hard yep. But like links and Shie Fight the Fall, despite being one frame, you you can still kind of because there's plinking right

play like yeah back, yeah, so it's kind of easier. But these old games are all rolling, so you just and the worst part you just need to know. Nothing in the game tells you that these links into this. You just had to know, and which back to the question, how do people back then found all these out? Yeah? Finding stuff out for older games a lot harder. Yeah, and how just how how do people know and how are these games so optimized today? Easy? Because like it's

already been so long that people have played the shit out there. I mean yeah, I mean you get people that's played these games forever and stuff like that and anything, and you know it's just like anything like Super Stupid or two Turbo or like yeah, like they just played the games forever and like they just got Obviously they've kept playing over time, so that's why you know they have stayed as good as they had and stuff I got anything. Yeah.

I also want to mention that her this was the future. It's comparable to King or Fighter of all things, because you have stuff like role you have stuff like hops hyper hops. It's very kiofe when it comes to offense. So if you have a hot button that's really oppressive, you're probably gonna be be mixing people out of him, right. Uh. It is a hard game. I still think JoJo's a game like it's hard to pick up, but once once you get into like oh I actually have two characters,

then then it's pretty easy. I guess, like if you're used to playing Zato, you're used to playing characters like Ghost played in DNF. I guess that's why Jojo clicked with me so much, because I like these style characters and I have a whole game that's like this. So he appealed to me really quickly. And Shadow Deo plays a lot like Ghost played. Like she he does like summon the stand to do like one thing and one thing only

like like his uniqueness sense. He doesn't have, like the recording super he doesn't have like I can put my stand here and then like remote control him from like a distance. He doesn't. He just iss closer to coast, playing the air where you press as the goal, the stand comes out, does like one punch and that's it all right. There's there's there's running normals in his game, which is cool to me because the only game that I played with running normals Will had a Knight. So yeah, yeah, that's

that's like the three games, three retro games. I've been really putting a lot of time. I mean, like I did try to pick up if he has two game brook so much that I can't really play it too much. That's unfortunate. CBS two like is definitely like my favorite fighting game of all time. I do manage to play enough to form a team though,

So I guess that's good. Which is is a p groove yun Chune and my Okay, I thought I see that to play Chunne and Mine the same team, true, yes, yes, so it's been day all alone, so that's cool. I'd play mine CBS two, so I respect that. I see My team was K Groove, Cammi, Bison, sagat it though. I think those are top tiers, right, I don't know. My CBS is really really low un is Um really qu my cherry. I'm a very skavy team. Okay, yeah, you're basically okay. I guess I

mixed in a little bit of rock too. I played a little Rock Howard in that game too, So I wish Dance and K characters were better in that game. Yeah, yeah, there's yeah, I'm trying to think of like really any S and K characters stood out, but to be honest, it was more um yeah, yeah, it was either Segott, um Sigott, Segott yeah, forgot Blanca, Sakara, uh, Bison in a groove. Um yeah, I think I think Vega as well, Klaw ve Vegas

pretty good? Yeah, was all right, yeah, trying to think who is maybe the best SINK character, like tiar wise is the best K character? Followed by like the sword check from Hibiki? Yeah yeah Hibiki. Yeah, I tried to pick up Hibiki, but after looking at comodities, I'm like, why is it weird? All right? Like I see so I just did it? Like why why is running like almost or Pretzel? Why?

Why? Back then Glad actually doesn't have that anymore? Yeah, So like the best SNK characters um According to like some community tartly some sn our Eori, Geese, uh, Hibeki, Rock, and Kio were often regarded as like the best like SNK characters. Geese is cool, Yeah, yeah, Geese is really cool. He's probably like one of my favorite fighting villains.

Yeah, Geese is yeah. Geese is like yeah, probably one of the more iconic ones for sure, Like he and Rugal addictable Man's rule even legal to play, I mean regular regular regular regal when a Kuma war, but they were definitely mid tier. The Omega Rugle and Shinni Kuma though they were definitely they were banned because they had like infidence and stuff, right, especially Shinnikuma. He had like a he had like an instant air fireball like

infinite It's cute. All right, Yeah, let's there's my venture into all games because I grew up like playing fighting games, but I had no one to teach me all learned. So you know what I thought. Told I was like, huh, now, fight kids of it. But it's basically a kidd at my own home. It so these legacy titles, and he does say I'm pretty impressed involved them, Like, I'm also impressed at how hot they were back then. There's no internet bedding, So how how are

people learning these games? Yeah, aside from fighting games, honestly haven't been playing much. I did pick up HC. League of Leging story. It's one of those new spin off the Right trying to do for the League of Legend universe, and this one tells the tale of Silence and that and his battle against the people who don't like majors in his city. It's kind of like a like a like an X Men story where if you if you grew

up having magic powers, you're probably jailed because magic bad. And it's kind of like criticism in a way, except peaceful magic people and non magic people. I'm not gone too much into his own. Maybe I'll talk about this next month. But also hers a fairly short game, so I'll be quick and appart from mag Seeker. Honestly, I've only been really grinding Omega Strikers or locals. The game just came out, No magat four days ago.

I would he came out of the twenty seven. Yeah, that was like Thursday, Thursday, yeah, yeah, And I've been playing the ship because I've been winning six months for where to come back. I love the game. It's really unique. It's say for those who don't know Omega Strikers, it's say what the developers call it a footbawler. So you get a football part which is closer to air hockey, and then you get the brawler part which been which they mean is that you get to point the shit out of

your opponents and just knock them out the field. They will respond, but you get the days an option to just just beat them up because they're probably beating you up as well. The game is simple to learn, is really addictive to to play one. Once you get it getting going, can play solo. It's a tree v three game, so of course it's more funny.

We have like two buddies to help play with you, because sometimes playing solo in the staff like sports games are like hell honestly like and this game has almost non communication in an attempt to reduce toxicity, so your communication is limited to emotes and things, which is a little unfortunate for me, but I think it's enough in a grand scheme of things. And the best pace

is free to play, so go check it out. It's really not much to talk about right now because I'm still like trying to gain the groups of the meta and everything. The game has completely changed from from the better I played six months ago. Yeah, yeah, that's pretty much on my end, like the last month. Yeah, it's nice. I mean for someone who says they didn't play a whole lot, sounds like I played a whole

lot. Fight K. I just lu fight Kid into like like one one whole thing because there's so many things, so many games, and the one one little program. So yeah, nice, nice, Well I guess that means Ryan. I think it's you. It is, and I think I want to pig you off, piggyback off of what Cats was talking about with Omega Strikers, because that is exactly what I have been playing has been Omega

Strikers up for that game, and it looks so good. Yeah. Yeah, So I mainly been playing Juliet. I mean that's the character I played in the beta as well. With that game and everything. Um but um, you know, like a cats say, it's a three v three like you know, basically like field hockey uh style game. Um, it was

very bare bones during the beta. Um, and like it was, it was fun, um, but people did get kind of bored of it a little bit pretty quick because it was kind of the same thing over and over, Like he played this hockey game three v three, first to five you know, wins or ordered to KCB games were really really quick things like that. Like, I personally enjoyed how quick the games were and everything, but

I also understood the argument. It's just like, man, there's not really a lot to it, you know outside of just the the you know, field hockey style of game and things like that and everything. Right, so kind of some of the things that they did that have changed up the game

drastically. They now treat it as um as basically like a fighting game set in a sense, right, so instead of being the first to five, it's first to three and instead of the game just ending there, it's just that's the end of the first period, right, So it's basically the deal where is like the first to you know, score three goals wins that set, and the team that's the first to win three sets is what decides the

game. So it could be a very quick game that could just goes three sets of three or whatever, or it can go to distance and go all the way to the full five sets, depending on like, you know, how the team's playing everything. And they've added like different things where like you can pick your own buffs that are available, and it's based off of performance in the set, right, So if you were like the best player that

set, you'll get the first pick of which buff do you want? Of eight particular buffs that you get to choose from, and it could be anything from like enhancing your skills to you know, creating more damage off attacks, to other players getting more knocked down like like stats or knockout stats, things like that. And then you also get like buffs at the beginning that you

get to choose from. You know, if you want to make your character faster, if you want to make your character a little bigger, things like that and everything. So they really change that aspect to where like as Cattle was mentioned with the meta sott and everything, where they just throwing a bunch of different things to like customize at that point of like how you want to play the game basically, and also based off like what character you're playing as

well and everything. And they have a pretty unique mix of characters that you get to choose from in the game stuff like at everything. Also, like the maps or like the fields that you play on are different as well.

There's actually now like different fields that you get to play on, and they all have their like own like unique attributes and sometimes like the goal won't be accessed immediately you have to like hit these like bumpers or stuff like that, like pinball in a sense, right where like you have to hit these certain bumpers or certain obstacles that would eventually open up the goal that you're trying to

score in and everything as well. So like they've added like a bunch of different things to kind of add some more I guess, add some more like game element to explore and have fun with while still playing you know, the field hockey aspect of the game and stuff. Um so I've definitely been enjoying the new changes stuff. I guy, I didn't realize I know, like when Katson told me, like all the changes stuff I got, I was like I was kind of wondering, like how drastic it was actually changed in

Yeah, I mean it added a lot of different things. Like I was actually kind of impressed with how much they added. Yeah. Basically, Um, there's two new characters they added as well. One character is like a like a short like Samurai like ninja character. Um, I forget what his name was though, like sorts of this zentaro Yeah. And then another dude named Rasmus who has liked this like hook thing that he uses in uh in the field hockey stuff and everything. Um. And then there's a couple of

other characters they added, like Run. I don't I don't see anybody really playing Run though, Um, so I don't know what he does. Um that maybe why then? Really? Yeah? So uh so, yeah, they've added some new characters, new maps, like new ways to play the game with like choosing your buffs and choosing like what things you want to use to kind of level up and stuff like that, and then just kind of go from there. So I've been playing a lot of that. Mega Strikers

has been very fun. Definitely recommend you know, everyone to give it a shot, give it a try. It is free to play, so you know you can't beat that. Uh yeah, it is free to play, so definitely, you know, give the shot. Tried out, you know, give it, you know, find out for yourself. I personally like the game. I think it's a lot of fun, but definitely find out

for yourself too. And and then it made the controller functionality, um better to use as well, um because I know, like Debata, sometimes the controller was acting wonky, but now there is like full controller support so you don't have to play on a keyboard amounts if you want, you can play on controller. Um, I want to. Uh. Is it cross play as well? Yeah? Everyway? Yeah. Yeah, So that's the other thing too. It's it's it's act, it's accessible for everything, like you

can think. There's even a multiple version too, so like it's very much cross play. So definitely give it a shot. It's definitely put a lot into it. Let's say Trigger made the opening video for it. You know that's saying something too. Trigger only does quality work. So um, another game, Yeah, exactly. Another game that I messed around with a little

bit last night. And it's a game I keep saying. I kept seeing them I recommended, and I had a little bit of money that's been and it was kind of on sale, but and like, oh, you know what, I'll give it a shot. You see what it's, what it's about and everything. Um, but it's a it's a rhythm game called Melatonin. Yeah, so yeah, so I bought I bought that last night and

was playing it. It's a very different rhythm game because it's not like your traditional ryth of games where you like see the inputs and stuff like that and everything and then you, you know, you try to hit the you know, inputs on the rhythm and things like that everything, although it does contain

that aspect, but it's done differently. So like I just started the game last night, and everything's hand drawn in the game too, so like all the animation stuff and everything that's done and stuff like that, it's all hand

drawn and you have to complete like certain stages and stuff like that. Of like this character, this dude that's like having these dreams when he falls asleep, and like it give me, there's a random dream where like he's eating a bunch of food, or like he's doing a bunch of shopping, or he's playing, you know, a bunch of video games things like whatever, and like the stages are like when the music's going everything you have to listen

into like actual actual like audio cues for when you hit the input, and you'll see based off the animation if you get the input right, if you get it perfect or not. Like for example, there's the one where like you're going through the food dream right and you have those like box of donuts it's launching donuts at you and everything stuff like that. You have to time. You have to time your inputs based off when the donut is approaching for

you to eat the donut. If you if you hidden perfect, you eat the donut. If you miss time it, you miss the donut. So like that's kind of like the way the Rhythm game is done. It's like you got to time your audio cues with the rhythm of the track also being based off the animation and looking at that too and everything, so you can time things you know to be able to get like the perfect like animation sequences

and stuff like that. Otherwise, like you said, if you miss it, you miss the donut, and you see like him, like the character just float out like try to take a chomp, like catch the donut and just completely miss it and stuff like that and everything. So like it's it's unique in that regard where like there's like different little things that you're doing in this rhythm game while trying to complete like certain tasks and then be able to

unlock other parts of like other dreams stuff like that. There's another one UM Order dream where like it's like a shopping thing or whatever, and your your inputs are like swiping the credit card on the like certain beats of when the items are available to purchase and stuff like that. So it's very it's a very unique rhythm game, um when it comes to like how they do actually yeah, very much. So um yeah. So like I'm like I said, I dabbled with it a little bit. I probably plaid like maybe an

hour of it and stuff like that. But it's definitely probably one of the more unique like rhythm games I have played, um because of that, so um, And it was really toubly cheap. It was like fifteen bucks on on Steam, so I was like, yeah, you know, I keep seeing this on here, I've seen other people like play it a little bit and it's been reviewed pretty well, so it's like, I'll give it a shot and see what I think of it. And it's just like I definitely

want to play more of it, like more of it. But it is definitely a very much a different experience from what I'm used to as far as like the rhythm games go and everything, and that's a good thing, so, you know, something just something that's a little different. So um, outside of that, that's pretty much it as far as what I've played.

I do want to eventually start up Hankai Starrail. I do have it downloaded, but I have not had a chance to boot it up yet, so like that's probably gonna be something on my agenda for this week to start up and play and maybe I'll have a review on that. That's basically the Hoyovers turn based RPG game yep, So so I definitely want to check that out and see what it's like everything, but I'll probably do that sometime this week.

So that's pretty much it for me though. Okay, okay, well I guess that moves on to me, which I'll be honest, I haven't really had too much time to put into games this week. I've mainly just been continuing my journey through Octopath two. I still really like that game. I finally hit the point where, like you start having the crossover chapters in that game, which I think a really neat. It's like, I like to see what they're doing, and like it's not perfect. I see what

they're going for, and I think it's really cool. I don't know if, like if the payoff will entirely be there, but like, I like what I am seeing, and I am a bit disappointed in the in the fact that, like it looks like they're just pairing off, so like they're pairing off the eight Travelers in just pairs, and it looks like those crossover

chapters are just going to be between those pairs. So for example, only Hikari and Agnea, which is the Dancer and the the Dancer and the Warrior, are gonna have like their crossover chapters are going to be its own tail. But you're not gonna see like those characters crossover with anybody else. At

least that is the impression I've gotten so far. I couldn't be wrong, but again Entrepat two really improves upon that sort of issue with the first game, where like you have these eight characters, these eight protagonists, but they feel like complete strangers to each other. So the game, excuse me, the game doesn't feel like super authentic, you know. Um, so I'm really happy to see like Octopath too, like really put the steps in to fix that. And you know, maybe by Octopath four, will u we'll

have like the perfect Octopath game, you know. Um at least that's my hope. I've not gotten into yet. I need to maybe one day once I get caught up with some other stuff, maybe to play through the first one or something. It's it's a really fun time, I think. Uh, those games really bring h a feel of like retro RPG back that is something that I miss. Um And like the h G two d is gorgeous.

I love looking at it, uh yas or Nishiki's uh soundtracks are fantastic, Like I love the soundtracks, like the second boss theme in this game, like I did live rent free in my head, I'm doing like the whole cat like Bob and its head type vibe, like every time it pops on and like I get so white every time I hear it, I'm just like, oh, the song is so good. So like just the package of Octropath is just it's it's really good. Like I definitely recommend it.

I think I see the first one on sale on scheme all the time, So when you get a chance, Ryan, I definitely recommend it. Yeah. I just have like a bunch of other games I need to catch up on sure, but yeah, I definitely get it. Unfortunately, we live in a time where like there's so many games out. I mean it's not unfortunate that we have so many games, but it's really hard to have every time. Yes, I think are so long that I want the same time

into them, but I just can. Sometimes. It's like right now, I just put it up Rise Eye Tree and I played only five minutes of it. I'm like, there's gonna be a long rise in it, and I just I just stopped after realizing that time things man suck. Yeah, like between going through like Trails and like other RPGs. It's just like these games are so long, and I wish they were. I love, I love them, I love to connect to the love the story, I love

the gameplay, just don't have the time mm hmm. Yeah, lyescially considering like all the other stuff I'm doing and stuff I got too. Mm hmm. It's just hard. Yeah, Well being an adult sucks. Um Like I I wish I just had time to play all the like video games and RPGs I want too, and like they never slowed down. Uh, Like every time you turn around, a new game's coming out, and I'm just like, frick man, I haven't even beaten like the last five. Now

I gotta beat like two more. And Zelda's in like two weeks, and I like, bro please bro Zelda in two weeks? Uh. Street Fighter six in almost a month or like in a little over a month. Final Fantasy Yeah, Final Fantasy sixteen in about a month and a half. Like, Yeah, there's a lot that's coming out suit we I mean, hell, we went over it last week. All the releases that's happened exude. So this is a lot of Yeah, like June is stacked. Yeah,

I mean we're ring. You know, remember even Diabbo four Like that's gonna be big too. Yeah, there's a lot. There's a lot of stuff. Well, I mean we do what we can, I guess, yeah, pretty much. I mean at the same time, I'm excited, Um games have fun to sixteen, I think that's gonna be insane. Games are fun, games are indeed fun. Yeah, but uh you know, uh for all, for all the all the complaining about new games coming out, Like I'll also say I can't wait for exc Atlanta, can't wait for fans

to sixteen, I can't wait for Zelda. Like, these games are gonna be sick, and I need them right now, even though I am drowning in a pile of like fifty games I haven't played yet, yeah, pointing at me, only looking forward to three Fight six. The reason is that I need a new fighting game. I'm getting really born of love fighting games. I'm playing right now, Like the only game I'm the only fighting game I'm like actively grinding is just Plus right now and occasionally Strife, and that's

it. I don't need to play anything else. Hey, listen, listen this week, this week the Hollow Live Idols fighting game. That's gonna be dropping it to play that. That game has got a full blown story mode and everything and stuff like that. Like, im I'm gonna be playing that. I'm telling you a game of the year right there. If I rightist brow. I can't too big of a standard for this year for me is yeah, I believe me. That's another game that's on my list that I

need to play is High High Rush. Yeah. That game is gonna be tight. That's got That game is like, I really want to get to it, and I know when I do, it's gonna be tight. Yeah. Yeah, that's that's kind of my thing, is like whenever I get the chance to actually sit down and play it and so I get I am definitely gonna be all for it for sure. Once again, it's just it's just it's a it's a matter of time. You know. You do what you can and you try to find in the games that you want and pray

for the best. But uh, I don't video games are cool, I think, is the point I'm trying to make, uh, while also complaining that I have no freaking time and it sucks. Yep. But that being said, in terms of I am on top of optopath. I have been

grinding some strives. I finally made Celestial with my biking, which isn't like a huge deal like Celestial these days, Like it's not a huge deal, but it's kind of nice to hit that milestone that I'm making solid progress with this character that I picked up. And I don't know why I decided to grind strive now of all times, but here we are. I wish the play like on and off. It's not really again I can see because they can just feels really stiff, like combo wise, it feels really stiff.

I kind of selvage or combo so to say, like I can do an exit plus R. And also because the I don't have like a character I really really really like in strife like Ada Nizzato. By even then, I'm getting read both of him Batman, wasn't it he? Batman looked cool in the trailer, but after playing him that, I have no idea for you. Yeah, just just kind of just feels kimped. Not everything he does feels kipped. I have no no idea how how to properly explain. It

just feels mechanic. I think it's really neat, uh a mechanic that Arcis is going to have to tweak very carefully because it's like borderline busted, like almost like nell felt pineberry grenade busted um that like, I don't know, it's weird, but maybe I haven't played against good batman, but right now the ones that I have played is like Flow nineteen, and they have that

that they're still like struggling to do what they want to do. I have no idea what they want to do, so I just kind of like oppose and just lose that those things on them. I don't know. I mean, I oppose is a difficult thing to deal with to begin with. I'll be honest, like I have opinions of maybe that move shouldn't exist, but I'll save that for another day. I see some some very competent bead man players, and they are quite good. I mean they are quite scary.

And XAR, we had one of the best bed players in the US in our group, um Jeff like and like, I haven't had a chance to like ever talk to him later things so I can. But there's part of me that wonders, like if he's played Strive and if he's been if he has had a chance to play um bed man, because he used to be a bad man player. So um, but I remember like in Exar, like, oh my gosh, fighting his bad Man was a nightmare because of

how like efficient he was with that character. Oh he was insane. He was one of the hardest players to play against in that game because Jeff was just naturally good and beg Nan was a very uncommon character. And I honestly want to say, Jeff lating you know, old school Marble two player um as well, But I honestly want to say, like, as far as bead Man players in the US, I want to say, he was like top three, behind GC Yoshi and um the other one that scapes my name,

but definitely behind GC Yoshi for sure. Um yeah, I definitely agree. Yeah, he like he was my gosh, he was just incredibly good. Um Like, I would love to play him in fighting games again. I don't no, I don't think he really puts any time in this drove. Maybe he'll come back for Street Fighter six, I don't know. I keep putting my faith in Street Fighter six going to be the game that saves fighting games. I think everybody is right now, Like I think you're not

the only one in that camp. I agree. I'm looking forward to project it'll be more. Yeah, but that game seems like that's like that game still feels like it's like three years away. What the way you're doing stuff like they like, like you think by now like you would get more than what we're getting, but that that game still feels like it's so far away. True does it's only because it's Mark is free to play fighting game days, like he spots radio so does say so this one. I'm like,

yeah, maybe Project Else the one to save the fec. I'm not saying, but she fighting six with even Lee I show you in the new the new generation at least, Yeah, I mean, I'll be honest with modern controls are viable. Yeah, I'm I'm more or less curious to see how that's all gonna play out. Um as far as like how that's gonna work and stuff. I think I'm still gonna stay with the traditional controls because like

that's how I played Street Fighter all my life. Um, So like I but I am curious to see what the like how the implication of the modern controls are gonna are gonna work, um and things like that. So because I even with the modern controls, like, I still think at the end of the day, the play the better player is gonna win. Um. But you know, I mean we'll this, we'll just kind of see how that all kind of you know how that evolves when it does release. Did

you is hope for the best? Yep? But again I have high hopes. I think we're gonna return to like two thousand and nine, uh, like Street Fighter four Fighting Game Resurgence, and it's going to be ranned. Yeah, definitely feels that way. At least at least that's what I tell myself how it feels that way. We'll see if that's we'll see if that's actually how it works. Um, but I have high, high, high, high high hopes, and they can't tell me otherwise. Nothing wrong.

But but with that, I think that that's all I've been playing. Does anybody have anything else they'd like to add? Or we reached the end of our short little show. I think I think that's a good stopping point. I think we I mean, I know, for me, like that's all I really hit on and everything. Yeah, gotcha, gotcha? Well, I guess we can start the sign off? So cats, where can people find John Line? Y'all can find me on Twitter at Kaylin Cat's spelled with

case with for Kalin, nine Cats and two zees. At the end, play Omega Rights. It's free, It's fun. I really wanted to give to succeed. I don't want it to slowly die of like don't return. Still play a game, but both games are amazing. Just just check them out. They're both free. Mm hm, that is the best price.

I appreciate that. Ryan. Where can people find John Line? Let's see basically Twitter, which is basically my art account, which is RCB Underscore Draws, which I guess I can announce this um kind of a new step that I'm taking um personally and everything. But I am going to do my first ever art booth in June, June fourth. It's gonna be at Nakama, which is a like an anime sake karaoke bar that's over in our Orange Park

area. So you know, if you're local to Jacksonville or anything like that and you want to come hang out and come see some cool artwork, come on through. Like I said, I'll be doing my first ever art booth with that, So not quite sure what I'll expect out of it, but you know, hey, we're gonna we're gonna get to try and see what and see what happens and uh just kind of go for mary, you know. So, but yeah, you can just follow me on Twitter account.

RCBUNO score draws. Um. I do stream as well on Twitch sometimes, which is RCBTV, but that's uh, kind of like whenever I feel like streaming. It's not like a schedule or anything. It's kind of like, oh, hey, I got some time, chicole, let's go ahead and stream type deal. Mainly, but mainly Twitter is the best way you can find me. Rcb un A score draws. Nice. Nice. I look forward to hearing successful stories of your boothing adventure. We we shall see,

we shall see once again. I have high hopes. That is the running thing for the union. We're leaving this episode with positive vibes. Maybe maybe that's the podcast title, high Hopes, High hopes, High hopes. Indeed, I'll make sure I know that. And uh, for me, you can find me on Twitter at JSB totally drew, I don't know. You can just see me tweeting out video game opinions. Uh. My latest were my takes on the I do have to bring this up because this is worthwhile

video game news. The new hot take was to complain about how Rematching is two fasts and tree Fighter six and that has to be the dumbest fighting game take I've ever heard of in my life. You can't be serious. People were complaining it's great, it's great. I'm unable to even are you I mean if okay, I say, I couldn't believe it. But like after

I freed, I was like, yeah, I can't believe it. I mean, you're not wrong, I mean, but still, like I thought we were ending this podcast on on a on a high note, you know, and then you have to go because I can't believe people are that stupid. Here we are, yeah, here, we are good. But that's fine. So you can see my takes on making fun of the fighting game community on Twitter edging speech totally Drew, that's definitely the worst thing about the

about the fighting game community Twitter anymore. It's so bad. Uh. And with that, I think that's an episode. So thank you all for joining us, Thank for both of you for joining me. We miss Rob but he'll be back next week. But for now we will leave you all with the rest of your week. Y'all. Have a good one bye bye later by
