Transcript

Welcome Everyone, Episode one seventy eight of the Jays against cassimmy host of rob Aka's then Joy to me. Today we have Ryan. How are you hi, guys. I'm Ryan. It has been a long time. It feels I can here now that we're on like the two weeks cycle and then you missed the last one, so it's been like four weeks. It's like it

feels like forever. Yeah. I mean because the last, uh, last recording session, I was kind of of you know, I had a day where I did my first ever art table and everything stuff like that, so kind of just after everything was done and all of a sudden done, I kind of just wanted to chill and kind of reflect on it and everything, so like a yeah, um but um yeah, back at it. Back uh to talk about a couple video games that I haven't been playing in.

One that I tried out and I didn't know if you guys talked about it, but the one demo that I shared with you guys, which one it was? The one that was the flow Stone Saga, the one that was the Tedtdris Mechanics. Yes, yes, yes, yes, I didn't get a chance to check it out, but I did download it, but please tell me more when when once we introduced Drew? Of course, yes, of course, let's let's get Drew in here. Real QUI differ? How are you? What's up? I'm doing all right? How about you?

No, I'm here here to talk about some games. You know what I'm saying. I'm excited. I'm excited all soon. M They've been constantly traveling lately, which not afforded me a lot of time to play games, unfortunately. But I will do my best. That's all I can ask. Please do your best, but we're gonna we're gonna do our best to get through this this show. Um. And then talk about quite a few things, some quick housekeeping stuff. Um. There was no jsbnime cast recorded today since

I always forget Father's Day for reasons. I forget this holiday exists, but you know other people celebrate it. Um, So a lot of the other cast members were basic today and I was like, oh, yeah, that makes sense. So that's being pushed to next week. So if you're listening to this, stay tuned for Sunday where we talk about Fully Cooley. That's going to be a really fun one. And then also just a reminder that we did move to a two week schedule, right, so the game's cast

will be every other Wednesday or Thursday, depending on how things go. So just keep that in mind for like why it's kind of like a weird release schedule. Not a lot going on in between weeks, but you know, we figure it helps everybody, right, gives us some more time to do things and and kind of decompressed between weeks. And I think I think it works pretty well. Um, maybe we'll find some stuff to fill in,

or maybe I'll find some stuff to fill in in between. Like there's a bunch of things that I have on my mind that I want to do and bring to Fruition, But hey, you know that depends on energy levels, right, But we'll well, we'll see what happens. But I do want to do some more out there. So with that out of the way, I want to hear y'all talk about things. Ryan. You you you let off with the Tetrius stuff. Um, talk to me about everything you've been

doing man yet. So yeah, well we'll start things off with something that was a kind of like a fun little find. Um. Yeah, I kind of stubble upond it in a Facebook adum of course, I'm a sucker for anything that looks like pixel Art, especially when it comes to like RPG stuff or anything. And it was just kind of like, saw this ad for a game called flow Stone Saga, and I'm like, huh, what

is this? I am curious about this, and I go to the Steam page and I'm like, Okay, pixel art RPG already a plus, I'm already a fan of that. And then the thing that I saw that blew my mind because is I never knew something like this existed, and I never knew it was something I really wanted to exist until I saw it. But it was a RPG with Tetris as being the main mechanic of the game. And I'm like, wait, what the battle system is based all like Tetris,

Like that's what we're doing right now. It's like changing blocks together and chaining you know, the you know, the way you would play Tetris, everything into like attacks and stuff. And I'm like, yeah, this is neat. So that's why I sent it to you and Drew I was like, and I attacked Drew in it because I was like, well, Drew,

I know, Drew's like a big Tetris fan. I'd seen it with my own eyes and playing Tetris on a big like Nintendo controller at a gam event that was here in Jack's So I was like, Drew, check this out. And then that's when you both saw it and you're like both of you were like wait, what this is the coolest thing ever, and like excuse me. So, um, I tried it out. Um, and

it's it's pretty fun. Um. It's not just it's not just the battle system that revolves around this like tetrisystem that they got and everything, but it's also, um, it's involved in a lot of different things. Like there's a part like in the demo where your boat gets kind of messed up and you play Tetris to repair your boat. Um, if you there's a one part where you're having the like harvest material and you know, get minerals and

things like that everything. Guess what you do you play Tetris for. I know in the in the demo video that they have the trailer, I think there's one part where you're solving a puzzle so you have to like build a very specific shape or something like that. And I was like, oh, we have Tetris puzzles in here too, and I'm like, I'm a I'm a sucker for that specifically, yeah, like building specific images out of the Tetrimino pieces. I'm like, I'm a big sucker for that stuff. And

I'm like, oh this this is definitely going to play to me. Yeah yeah, So like um, but it's like it's funny because like it's such a unique concept yet it's also like a brilliant concept to put into, you

know, a game like this. And this is like, you know, let's be honest, everybody and our mother has paid played Tetris in one way is shape or form you know, so like it's automatically someone that's just going to gravitate people because of the fact that it's like, oh cool I get to play some form of Tetris in this this is this is sick um so um. But there is like also like some complexities with the battle system and stuff. I got everything too with uh, you know, having to play

these Tetris mini games in the battles and stuff. I got everything because there's like a rating system and everything too, based off of how quick you could defeat enemies, you know, by utilizing your you know, Tetris in a sense and anything I didn't get a really chanced to like dive really debt deep into the strategy of things, because like it's a demo, so it's like, you know, it kind of gives you like a basic understanding of things

obviously when't like if for whenever the full game does release, it will show, like, you know what, you know, what each thing can do, if there's other ways to be able to change things to get stronger attacks or like you know, get better to fens or to heal and things like that and everything, because it's all included in the way you know, you build your blocks and anything stuff like that, because like there's one example where

like there's certain blocks and then like there's certain color combinations that you have to like pin and join together to be able to get like better like effects with

the way the blocks break and everything. So like there's definitely like a little bit of a complex mechanic to it to where like you sure you're breaking the you know, you're trying to break as main lines as you can, like you normally would in Touch Us, but there's also certain portions and parts that you have to um you know, be able to utilize to be able to get better attributes and better things. Um, but it was a pretty cool

concept. Um. It's like, uh, um, it's a pretty like yeah, you know, I was kind of um blown away by it because I'm like, this is such a unique thing to add to a game, and like that's why I like, now this game's on my wish list because I'm like, I'm this is probably gonna something I'm gonna definitely play and maybe even maybe take a couple of nights of streamer. So like I don't know, um, but it's it's a it's been a really cool concept, Drew.

I think you'll like the music in the game. Um. I thought the music was pretty you know, pretty catchy. Um. You know, had had said, not a pretty gold tone. So I think you'll definitely like the ost whenever you get the chance to try out the demo for yourself. Um, but yeah, the demos up on the Steam it's a you know, obviously it's a free demo. You get to get a pretty good sample size of like how everything works and stuff like that, and you get

to like a feel for the story and everything. The maps and everything are all you know, it's like Corona trigger maps with the way you kind of walk around to everything and stuff like that. So it's pretty fun fun. Like I'm definitely saying, like, if you guys like your pixel RPGs and you also like a mix of Tetris and things like that and everything, definitely check it out again. In the game's called flow Stone Saga, our battles

random or are the enemies on on the screen. They're they're on the screw Okay, okay, okay, So yeah, very much like that that Corona trigger. Yeah cool, So that's awesome. Yeah, definitely check it out. Um. The other game I've been kind of backed, I kind of got back onto a little bit um is nick. Um. It's because it

got a PC release. Um, And I was unaware of this game got on PC to be honest, but like it's so much easier and more convenient to play this game on PC than on your phone and stuff like that. Um. Even though like that's about control, yeah, because it's like, even though it's like super straightforward and everything, um, but the way the game plays stuff like that, like trying to find a cursor on your phone sometimes to navigate it through. So I got it's a little weird and a

little wonky. Um. And also the fact, like you know that you can make the two D animations, uh you know, flow at sixty fps now and things like that, and everything like everything looks looks smoother and like the live two D animation like cut scenes of the game and stuff I got look really really neat on it now and stuff. So but I've been kind of back on that a little bit. Um Cats has been helped me out put together like parties and like you know which characters to get and stuff like

that. And the one thing about Nika too is like they're pretty generous with your poles when you get your like SSRs and things like that and anything. Yeah. Um, like they just launched like of course, you know, it's a summertime, so they got to swim suit like you know, beach scene going on right now, and like very first pole I got the uh I got like the main like um skin that they're show that they're promoting with

this first part of the uh Beach campaign and stuff like that. So I was like, huh, I'm getting really decent poles here all right out again less by the gotcha guds. Yeah, and and even like one of the other characters I got um which Rob you would love this character. Um. Her name is Scarlett UM, and she's like a she's a she's like a samurai girl. But but she is all about the sake. She is all about the booze. I know, I know Scarlett. She's the one.

She's the one that's dressed in white lee right, yes, and has the big apple and yeah yeah yeah, yeah, she's she's definitely rip energy. Yes, and especially when you like like go through her, like her stories and like her episodes. So again anything, she's all about trying to drink as much sake and as much booze as she can. That is her. That is her way to chill and relax. And I was like, this character is definitely a rob character. Yep. Yeah, so that's me.

Yeah. So I was like, so if you ever got back into it, um, and yeah, Scarlett would definitely be the character for you because relatable. UM. But apparently when I pulled her, it was she was like the lowest percentage pole UM in the group when I got her, like on my third pole and and CATS was just like, how did you get the best character UM on your first on your first few tries, I'm like, just happened, Yeah, you lucked up hard because I know she's a

really popular character, like people people want Scarlet. Um, so like you, you definitely looked sacked on that one, because I think I think she was definitely one that I wanted when when like I initially tried the game, um, and I was like, yeah, if I rot her, it'll be really cool and never came home. Yeah. And then like when the PC release came out, which I think was a couple of months ago, Like it was definitely like sometime this year, it wasn't that long ago.

Um, that's when they did the chainsaw Man collab, and I was like, well, I am a simp from Mackima, Like she's problematic, She's my problematic queen. Uh, let me just start over and get Mackima reroll until I get her. So then I got Makuma and I haven't touched the game since. But no, maybe maybe I'll try with Scarlet. Well we'll see what happens. Well. And also I guess a little bit later down the line there's going to be a near Automata collab as well, so like

I'm definitely saving up a few of my resources for that. But then there's also I think there's also another beach skin they're going to release for another one of the other characters that I'm kind of saving up for as well. Um, and Cats was saying apparently this this particular skins like going to be one of the better ones as far as like the skill tree goes and everything. So I'm like, yeah, okay, well I will I will save up

then I will not spend anything. Oh yeah, maybe maybe I'll wait for the near one then because this way, like I can pull for near and then also if Scarlett comes home like cool yeah, um, but also get you know, to be and I don't know who else is a two. I'm it's two B and a two yep, yeah, So how dare they not do uh nine s? How dare they not put the boy in there? I think yes, it's pretty as all the ground, maybe more wholesome

at times too, you know what I mean? Put let nine s nik Let nine and I need I need to find a meme now of nine s h being at the gate and having like the Nike signer on logo on her and it just has nine that's saying let me in. That would be that would be a good one. That would be perfect and does have two B and A two with the other nikes on the other side look at him like what are you doing? Like, what what are you doing? Let me?

That would be pretty good. Um. But yeah, like like the game's like it feels a lot more accessible for sure playing it on PC and everything, and like you can full screen it as well and everything. So like it just it looks like it looks and operates really solid on PC, which obviously it should. It's a mobile game first or crying out loud, so if it had PC issues, that would be a bad thing. Very

weird. Yes, but we have seen weird. We have seen things that you would think would have no issue running on PC but yet does for whatever reason. Yeah. So yeah, so we've we've definitely seen that. Um. And then of course the other game that I've been playing, and I'm sure everybody's been playing this. I know Drew has been playing this because I hopped into stream to see his DJ do a little bit work before internet issues

went out. But I have been playing, um a bit of Street Fighter six started off with CAMMI trying to play her, but then I swapped to Jury and been playing Jury, and things have been going okay with it. But like as far as like my time with fighting games go and everything, this has probably been the most frustrating fighting game that I played in a long time. I could understand that, um, and it's not because it's not

because I don't understand what's going on. Like I get it, and like there are things that you know, I know how to try to approach the way certain mechanics work in the game and stuff like that, but my problem is whenever I try to counterplay around these things, it still does not work out for me. And it's kind of frustrating in that regard. Like, for example, like drive impact, Like every time I trying to like do

reversal drive impact nine times out of tenant doesn't come out. Yeah. I know it's supposed to come out and work if you're using normals that are special canceable, but for whatever reason, I can never get it out and I always get blown up for it, especially like when I'm trying to layer like layer different like strings and offense or anything. Oh great blow up by drive impact meat. So, like, there are aspects I really like to go

out the game. I think the game flows really well and I think it's pretty well fleshed out for the most part, but there are definitely some mechanics that are in the game and some interactions in the game that are just super frustrating to me. I would probably say it would it was more frustrating than dealing with Shield and multi blood type of loom. Like that's where that frustration

level it kind of lies and everything. So I'm kind of taking a small break from it because I'm like, you know what, I don't want to get frustrated about this game anymore, and like breaks healthy. Yeah, And it's just like I kind of was, you know, because like look, I'm I'm I know, I'm not going to be competing. Those days are behind me. I'm playing it just a plate and or thing stuff like that, and yeah, I just don't want to. I just don't want to

get frustrated about things. And so I can just be like, oh, yeah, so I understand that completely, dude. Yeah, like just kind of just and it max funds a little bit, just trying to have a little bit of fun, and then it's like if it gets too much, take that back, take a break. It's not that serious, go do something else, you know, And luckily I have other things to be.

That's it. So, But like I said, I mean, I think, but I think as far as street Fighter entries go, and as far as like you know, releases for an everything like just keeping it you know, you know, on both sides and anything, I think it's one of the better entries it's been released in a long time when it comes to street Fighter, like even street Fighter four, Like, while a lot of people played it and everything, it had a ton of laws that a lot of

people just did not like in everything, it was not really as well received as initially it did become as time progress with it and everything stuff like that. But I think, like as far as like how the game's been released and like how it's been well received everything, like Capcom did an amazing job of it, but from all from all angles, from the casual angle, from the competitive angle, just like they just like hit everything they needed to

hit for this release. Yeah. Um so I will definitely give them that. But there are certain mechanics in the game that do absolutely frustrate the hell out of me, especially the way some of the interactions in the game work, Like there's some weird interactions that happen sometimes, and also like I'm not sure if it's like something that's on my end or water kisses, but I feel like the buffering system, like where you buffer inputs the stuff anything,

it gets wonky. There's been times where like I would cross under somebody that would jump over me, right, and I would didn't do like and put crouch medium kick into quarter circle forward kick um to like try to catch their landing on their lander recover anything, and I get level three super, which is a completely opposite input, and I'm like, why did that store like that? Um? It was like I got that a few times and I'm like, what is going on? Like how I feel like comparing people will

talk about the buffer, yeah, having issues with that. It's like it's just it just stores it weird because like I would literally go like I literally like walk under them as they're trying to cross over, like cross over me, and I literally would just press that medium kick quarter circle forward kick, and it somehow registers it as being quarter circle back twice super. I'm like I wasn't even close to inputting that, Like why did I get that?

That makes no sense? And this is like like the ways ways like I would lose some matches and stuff like I would just be like, oh my god, are you're serious, Like that is not what I did, and I that's what costs me. Please. Yeah, I'm like like and I know, like they've had like lax inputs for the longest amount of times, but that one seems that the one that one seemed was atrocious. Like I

was like, well, I shouldn't do it. Selled it a little little a little too too much into the leniency, you know, Yeah, just kind of boggle my mind. So I was like, maybe I gotta slow my inputs down. I don't know, like it's just it's just bizarre.

But like for me, it's been and I think one thing that would probably help me whenever I do pick it back up as far as like doing the reversal drive impact back it stuff of thing is maybe if I macro it, But like I don't want to macro anything uma because it's heavy punch, heavy kick, and I think sometimes maybe that's why I'm not getting it, because even though I feel like I'm hitting both button the same time, maybe I'm

just like split a second. But like, yeah, just like a hairy most people put it on the macro, like use the macro and yet just because of that, and that might be that might be what I end up doing it. Maybe that could resolve that issue. But I still hate macroing things I never hadn't hate adding more button, like I don't don't, I don't hate the macro itself, but it's just like it's another button then I have to awkwardly hit because I'm using a button usually that I don't normally push,

right, Yeah, and that's that's right there with me too. It's just like I don't want to hit this button, Like I never set this button for a reason. Yeah. Yeah, it's like an unnatural feel. Yeah. So um but uh yeah, Like, like I said, like I think the game's in a pretty good spot for it's released. You know, I would like to see a couple of tweaks here and there, but like they're more personal, yes than anything. So like I'm not really going

to dive into it that much. Um, but like, yeah, I mean, while I've enjoyed my time with it, it's also been the most frustrating time for me trying to get usus And like, typically I pick up things pretty quickly when it comes to you know, finding games and things like that, but like this one then yeah, this one. Man. Yeah,

there's a lot to wrap my head around with what's happening. And like, even though like I'm figuring stuff out, and even though like I'm figuring out like how to approach certain things like that, the fact that like there's still some things that just doesn't work out the way I would think it would.

It's just kind of like it's just just rough. Um. But I mean, again, I'm not gonna a lot of these are personal gripes, and you know, I don't want to take away from the effort that they did put in the game, because I think Catcom should definitely be applauded for it. But there there, there's there's there's some things. There are some things that, like you you have to kind of prepare yourself mentally for when it comes to Street Fighter six. But hey, you know it's a it's

a it's an actual decent street fighter game. So you know, if you those street Fighter play it, support it. Oh yeah, Oh yeah. That's basically been it as far as like games I've been playing. Um, of course it's still been on the Memental Marie grind as well. I finally got Florence to level two forty. Now so she and Cordy are both two forty. Oh yeah, and I got and I got Merland to two twenty. So like we're getting there. Yeah, We're we're We're getting there slowly

but surely. Um. But like, um, I think I finally Like in the Battle ranking things, I think I finally crap the top one fifty two, so let's go. Yeah. So um, I unfortunately was not able to get ribbed character number one. Um. And but I did get ribbed character number two, the latest pull for the new character this came out. I did get I did get that one. I didn't get the other

one though, that was the Blacksmith. I was like, thing, I kind of wanted the Blacksmith one more, but oh well, well yeah, I'm not ready for the adder, Like I gotta keep pulling, but let's see, we'll see what happens. I'm slowly, like I feel like I'm falling off. Um, I'm now at the point where like I'm lugging every other day instead of every day. Sure, and I'm like, oh no, I'm losing it. But I think that's that's mostly because I'm balancing that

in Hunkye Star Rail and it's just like sometimes I just forget. Yeah, and unfortunately I haven't been able to boot up Star Rail and a Bit either. Yeah, Like it's like I kind of feel that, right, Like my brain is only able to really hold one mobile game, even though like both of them are like very low committal, right, It's still just like my brain is like you can only float up one pick one. Yeah, yeah, but I still have a lot of love from a mental mart though

that game A game is so cool. Yeah, definitely now you're definitely right about that. Um on top of it though, Uh, like I said, I'd been still on the art grind. I just recently completed a commission for somebody, So that was cool, kind of a different thing than I've typically done. Basically did Somebody's D and D character as the commission, but still was able to use like what I wanted to do with it. So I got and it came out pretty good. They were very happy with it,

so that was like the most important aspect of it. And yeah, that's been going there. And uh, for those that may not know as well, I did release a I did and finally get a online store going with my prints and stickers quick website drop. Just go to RCB Draws dot gum road dot com. That's the weblink and that's where you'll find prints and stickers of my of my artwork that I've done. And there's gonna be some

more stickers coming soon. And I'm gonna get a US sticker made and also US grimmery from high School DFC and um um and the Alma Armis sticker. I'm gonna get that one moves well, so that's gonna be a cool sticker. Yeah, everybody listening, go pick up. They'll call you sticker Logu Mogu gang. That is probably my best seller is the okayu sticker Let's go so And I also did selling okay you print too, So yeah there's a yeah, the okayu uh piece has definitely probably been the best seller. I

put it on my laptop. Yeah, oh did you very cool? Yeah? Is it working out okay though? Like everything stuff like that, Yeah nice, Yeah, I put it right next to the JSP sticker. Nice. Yeah. Then like a lot of people told me like they got my stickers and stuff I got um that they've said like they've really they really liked the texture of the sticker or anything yeah, so that makes that makes me happy. So I'm pretty happy with that kind of weird. It's something I

never thought i'd do, but here we are. Yeah, you are somehow someway. Um, but that's pretty much it. That's all I've been doing basically. Um, still a couple of rhythm games here and there, but I mean, nothing really new with that or anything like that. It's all the same stuff that I typically play. So um but yeah, that's that's basically being that as far as like new stuff that I've been kind of diving into or like diving back into in a sense. Well, hell yeah,

that's very cool man. Speaking of a street fighter h through. Well, I hear you've been playing a lot of street Fight or six. I hear that you are in the process of moving to Jamaica. Is that true? I had something witty and it's gone, um so something all right? Uh? Stanced up Jamaican is the phrase that comes to mind between Rob and I. Stanced up Jamaican. I need some want to clip that stands up Jamaican. Danced up Jamaican. Uh huh okay, that is the turn of phrase

between Rob and I. Is there context behind this? Like I know it's been a watz to talk to you guys. Is there context behind this? Like, no context, no context at all? Just okay, no, none, No. Danced Up Jamaican and go ahead, and the photo edit in the Discord chat if you if you want, Rob, I got you, Huh, I got you. But but keep keep sucking Ryan, You're gonna get Yeah, well danced Up Jamaica. Huh. So yeah, I'm

I'm still putting in the grind for Street Utter six. I kit uh, probably the first plateau I've I've made my way through ranked I've grinded all the way up to Diamond Diamond stage one, and I've yet to get the diamond. I'm stuck in Platinum five. I mean, I like the three boys like Platinum is Marissa Hell for one um Mercy a nod Well. I fought nine Morrisses in a row, and I was just like, please make make this end. Just let me out, let me out of this this hell.

Why is so good? I just seen the photo? What the It's very good. I'm just gonna pull up that image be Stanced Up Jamaican, and it's also going to be the thing that's going to fill your dark soul with light, That's what that is. That is going to be the Drew the Drew banner like a better see you all in the audience, like waving that when I'm walking up for top eight EVO. That's that. We're always got to um. But no, so so we're still grinding. We still

have some goals you know that we want to reach. Our first tournament is going to be next weekend CEO twenty twenty three. Oh yeah, that is next weekend. It is. The goal is to know go and two We're gonna keep our goals small for the time being. Um. It is the first real street Fight or six tournament that I will be entering. Um, No locals, We're going right in the majors. We're just uh, you know, pushing through. Like I said, our goal is to just not

go into After that, we'll see where we land. And it's gonna kind of just like the placement matches for Street Fighter six ranked. This is going to kind of, you know, sort of see where I land amongst the rest of the the rabble, as it were. I think for what I want to do in this game, I have a very very long road ahead. We've definitely hit the point to where fundamentals need improvement, character specific knowledge

needs improvement. There are characters in this game that if you do not know how to deal with them, not necessarily fake interactions or fake pressure, but you get to the point where players now pose a challenge of if you don't know how to deal with this, I will abuse this and you will lose. Characters that come to mind like that, or characters like Blanca, JP Luke. These are characters that have very straightforward game plans that they're level one

sort of game plan if you cannot answer, will overwhelm you. So we're just making steps. Like I said, we're approaching street Fighter six in a much more open, much more experimental phase. I don't know, words are hard, I'm tired, but we we've reached a stepping stone in Street Fighter six and now I have to push myself to move past that stepping stone of like, Okay, this is going to be like that first sort of roadblock of this is what we need to learn to deal with, and this is

what we need to improve upon. Um, there should be no other man. I see a question real quick because you said you got the diamond, right. Um? Yeah, I heard people say or at least I thought I read it somewhere that like, um, because you know how you can get demoted still, so I got ranked, So I got anything. Can you still get demoted once you hit Diamond? Oh yeah you can. You

can get sent right back down to Platinum. Yeah yep. I think my first game after I got promoted to Diamond, I went back but own the platinum. How to get back to diamond real quick? Um? And I mean like that's whatever the ranking system in in ranked is whatever to Yeah, sure, I get that. I just like I said, I just I just heard something and I was just like, I don't know if that's right. So that's why I was more or less like trying to find out that

was the case. But I do want to get to hire echelons if only two play better people. Um. But there's something we said of there is value in playing in the lower tiers because there are game plans and saturgaies that you need to learn how to effectively deal with first. Sure, and I think it's very important. Like going through Platinum really pushed me to start utilizing

the system mechanics a bit more. I still don't utilize them well enough, I feel, but it started pushing me in the direction of, Okay, we need to start playing with these, Like we're no longer just playing street Fighter, but we're playing Street Fighter six. So that's sort of been my

journey with that. We're definitely at the point where it feels really bad when your opponent can respond to your drive impact that you cannot respond to your opponents definitely where like the plateau that I am at, and that is something I need to actively work on that. And DJ is a character that he has very situational anti ares. I've come to find it's not as straightforward as just you hit a bund and you knockle, you know, a character out of

the air. There are definitely situations where like you want to use his background house more, or you would want to use his suite more, or if you really have the opportunity to use his flash kick, and so like, these are sort of the challenges that have been presented to me of like can you drive impact, like can you react to drive impact in response? Can you anti air consistently to keep your oponer from just like overwhelming you very easily

because they're just jumping in on you. All these have been like the main weaknesses of where I'm at right now. I mean I just played a set where like because I could not respond to drive impact, like I think I did it once out of forty seven games. That's in my bad like and because I wasn't like anti airing properly. Because like the fast that I'm coming to find with Street Fighter six is that there are so many things that you have to look out for. You have to look out for, yeah,

very much. So. There's certain special moves that you have to look out for because there might be only certain ways that you can deal with a special move. You have to look for jumpings, you have to look for drive impact, you have to look for drive rush. Like there there are a lot of things that you just have to be situationally aware of, and I think like that is going to really really going to separate players as the game goes on. It's like how how keen is your situational awareness and like how

good is your split split second decision making? More so than any Street Fighter I've played before, because there's just so many things now, because there's so many things that you have to look for, Street veersix could end up not being your cup of tea I haven't found that to be the case for me. Like I'm still really having fun, it's just now we're at the point where I have to like step up my game and the and the game is

really forcing me to do that. And like if you want to play with the with the big dogs, like these are up in your mental stack and like, uh, increasing your situational awareness and like really getting into the nitty gritty, Like I feel like this is this is the perfect example of Street VEERSIX is a very easy game to pick up and play, but it's going to be very very very very hard to master. Yes, And so that's that's where I'm at with that game. Like I said, we're keeping the

goals pretty like pretty low tire as it were. Um, there is something to be said of the argument of work versus talent, and I unfortunately do not have the ladder, so I have to double up on the former as much as I can to sort of make up for any lack of natural talent. So we're kind of just keeping expectations low and just going through the mud, as it were, expecting a lot. That's all you can do, man, You just you gotta let it roll off the back and just be

like, all right, yep, that's all you can do. Keep moving forward. You learn, you try to learn what you can from your mistakes, and you just keep along going. Now, are there some things I might change? Like? That's another thing, is like I really don't want to. I don't think shree utter six is an unfair game. I do want to throw that out there at very much like all the characters feel relatively

close to each other in terms of like character strength. Nothing feels cheap or unfair per se, outside of like a select few things, And even then

I would just like to see them toned down a bit. To give an example, Blanca is a the current character of my ire where heavy block of ball is a very And you know, I've been looking at what other characters do, and this may just be a DJ versus Blanca like that may just be a rougher matchup for my character than other characters where I don't have a really good answer to deal with blank a ball outside of like system mechanics, like I have to be on point and get a perfect perry in order to

deal with this special move versus like other characters that can just super on reaction or not superlanger like super after blocking it, or they can drive and impact it because their drive impacts are so big. UM or DP or DP Like if I could just DP on command, that'd probably be a lot easier to deal with. Um, because I know, like whenever I see a blocker try to like heavy like heavy ball on me and stuff. I got. That's a free like medium punch DP for jury. Yeah, yeah, I

unfortunately do not have that option. Yeahcuse you got a charge? Yep. Um, I mean that being said, like I'll still yeah, but Sonic boom all day. Oh oh block is really good versus projectiles. His sweep is in or his slide is insane. Yeah. The drive Rush the drive Rush variant, and I've seen that not even just a regular version. It goes full screen, it goes under every projectile. It's quite insane because like I have to, like, even if I do a fake fireball with DJ,

I can still sometimes get punished. Yeah, that's true because there's recovery on that and everything. Um. My answer is always going to be just played guy Ale though, because I think Guyle's the best character in the game. But it's pretty solid. It's pretty solid. Um, I might ask you with with the block of ball move. It is simply that because the move is very difficult to deal with, Like you can't just like eat it out with a button, Like it feels like it has a ton of priority

at least versus my character. And like if you block it, you just take a ton of like drive damage, yeah, which you do put too close, could you burnout? Which now you're in a really bad situation, specifically against Blanca, because if Blanca has two bar he can now use his install super to just do an infinite block string of ship change, which is really rough to deal with. So like this all compounds upon itself, and I'm just like I kind of wish blank a ball for being as annoying as

it is to deal with. Don't change anything about it other than the amount of drive damage it does. That's probably the only thing I would change. But even then, you know, if they don't change it, I'll just learn how to deal with it and get better again. I don't think anything is unfair per se or too cheap, but that is something that I think is like a little too strong. But at the end of the day, it is what it is. The game still early are still young, rather,

so we're still developing. Don't tell me that character is bad. Though. If you tell me that character is bad, I'm going to look at you like you're an idiot or character in the game. I will look at you with just the most disdain you've ever seen on my face. Blanket we carry Blanca had trouble getting in all. I see. That's where like my

system mechanic to deal with that. So Block has a mix up of he can use heavy ball to just like sort of um annoy you or antagonize you, but then he can start doing light ball lifts to where he's right in front of you. So like where you're starting to carry the heavy ball, you can just do lightball and then get like I'm punished counter of throw on you for like twenty five and I'm like, well, that's that's really irritating when the fun begins. So like that again, I think it might just

be that this might we have a slight disadvantage in this matchup. Who's to say I haven't played it enough, And I mean there are things that I need to shore up on the fundamental side of things before I even like start looking at that, like I need to be you know, drive impacting, like back, I need to be antire and consistently and I need like these are things like that are things that need to be considered before I even like, yeah, I think this character is just better than mine, or I

think my character just has the advantage of this matchup. We're not there yet, you know, right, and we're still working on fundamental stuff. I think. I think the anti airy thing is definitely something that is kind of crucial though, especially like the fear of drive impact and the way it works,

especially in a corner. I find myself like letting people out for free, like unintended and stuff, and it's just like because they're like immediate, especially like in the ranks I'm in, Like they all just want to jump out or just up back every single time, and I'm just like, well then that's That's the very thing about Blanca is Mac is really good for him

because he just has a diet kick yep, m jesus. I think, like, I know, like for Jury, I need to maybe you start utilizing our air well no, because Jury's arthrow actually takes them out of the corner. Never mind, um, but like you can't direct it. No, No, she automatically goes to the other side. But like Chunley, like Chumley or Chunley and Cammy, for example, they could still keep them in the corner with their air fro but yeah, jury actually puts them out

of the corner. Uh that's stupid. Yeah, at least I don't think I can control it. I haven't been able to yet. So I saw some Jury throw Honda out of his head. But no, I was just like, well, turn the game off. Yeah. Air throws. Air throws are kind of are kind of interesting they yeah, yeah, especially chuns. She like does like little spin in the air and just throws them down.

Cammy arthrows the actually the only one that actually looks like it'd be Sultan Sultan normal, right, And then of course styles are throw the backbreaker, best one yep. But AnyWho that that's where we're at in the Street Fighter. Um. I think I've already put in over one hundred hours so far. I've been grabbing hard. I have my new stick tomorrow. I'm very excited because I've decided we're doing this for the long haul. It's time to

upgrade the stick, so we get that tomorrow. I'm very excited. I'll be probably talking about that on the next episode. But I ordered a Comba Dragon Ragon. It's apparently a tank. It's it's a chunky boy. It's also every review tells me it's the Rolls Royce a fighting game sticks, so it's good. The Kumba Dragon this is a newer model they released. It's a few years. I feel like it's been like two years or something.

But it opens up like the T two. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I've seen this one very I'm very spoiled by that because I go through button it's pretty pretty frequently, so I don't want to have to unscrew my stick e which I don't want to swamp button. Yeah, that makes sense. Therefore, I decided to go with the Dragon, even though it is like it's had bigger than the T two. Um, that's not a bad price either. To six that's not bad. Yeah, that's still not bad.

Dang, I kind of I kind of maybe want to get one now. It's been a while. It's been a while since I got a new stick. I think I've had this current Arcade stick that I've been used. I think I've been having it using it for like, I don't have the main reason the T two doesn't have a touch ban and like that's what we set is used on. So oh wait, are you're playing on PlayStation, aren't you? I am okay, all right, that makes sense. Yeah yeah, PC boys, PC boys. But um so that's where we are

on the street. Utter, We're gonna keep grinding. I'm wrapping up Octopath Traveler too. Finally, Uh wait, you still haven't completing that game. I've been gone up for a pup and you still haven't completed that game. Well, there was a lot more content after a month. I'm just gonna have you now. It was a lot more drew a month ago. Was like I feel it, I'm getting close, and then for the follow way it goes like I was mistaken. We are got hit with the mix.

I am at the final Boss Final Boss has hands? Are you sure? M for real? For real? I'm not for real, I'm not. But the story is coming to its culmination, and I'm just like, I gotta say, they've really at their game and the storytelling. Like when everything comes together, like it pretty much blew my mind because I was like they subtly were setting this up the entire time, and like there are a few times where I like I had my suspicions and I'm like, x NPC is

like I don't know about this person. I don't know something's up. But like they don't dwell too much time on it because like the there's eight stories happening like consecutively at the same time, and so like the game doesn't really focus on like the backwards plot or like the plot the overall plot happening in the background, but like where in Octopath Traveler won the super boss or like the final boss don't very like disjointed from the rest of the plot. And

like they did that exposition dump in like the final dungeon. IM like, hey, this is why it's all connected. Like there's still some slight exposition dump an Octopath two, but it's done way more organically, uh like, way way way more organically, and I really appreciate that. And then like you can also see like because when I fought back on it of like everything that they were setting up, I was like they were like talking about some stuff, and I was like, I'm it's chef's kiss is like what it

comes down to. It was it was really really well done. This game is not perfect. This game is not perfect. It definitely is flawed, but I love it. It is like definitely game of the year material. For me, it was like it's done so well even though it's flawed, and it's definitely such an improvement over the first game. That's awesome. Hell yeah, I knew the game is great, Like everybody has told me it's great. I think this is the strongest case I think I've heard for it.

Right, Like I've heard a lot of like it's really good, it's an improvement over one, and then it just kind of like fell by the wayside, right. Um, But but hearing you go through it has been like you have been like the loudest voice I have heard for Octopet Traveler too, and that makes me excited. Um, so that because I've really enjoyed my time with this game. But like the characters are so much stronger. The vignettes are really like so much more stronger, Like I actually care about

these characters. Like there were times where like I'm thinking about events that happened and I'm like, wait a minute, I was this connected to X, and then like like seeing it all come together, You're just like, ah, this was so good and like I couldn't tell you anything about any traveler in the first game, Like I don't remember any of the NPCs from like Alphin's story or Oberic story or like any of them, but like there are

very memorable characters and Octopath traveled too, and like they stick with you. Like combine that with like really good music direction by Jacenuri and Ishiki, Like the soundtrack is fucking twenty out of ten, like really sends it home.

And like there's a song that really hit me, very similar to how Nurses hit me when we were playing Zero, where I was like, this game is fantastic because like when you when those kinds of songs are in games, and like they're there's such a total shift from what you've been listening to for the whole game, Like you realize that they've just been setting this up the whole time, and like they just hit you with that whammy and you're like

fuck, m since chills down the steine. Yes, yeah, because you're just taking it back for a second, like wait of what is going on? Yeah? And like and again, like I do have to say, like the game's not perfect. Actually I do have one complaint about like the final segment of the game, which addresses my number one complaint of the game of let me just have all eight characters at once, but the end of the game once you do that, and I'm just like, why why are

we just now doing this? Because you gotta then the eight paths to truly unlock the featured drew very annoying. I said, a screen like they even added it to like the fucking like camp moment you and I said, rob a screenshot of like this angers me so much, but like it's really it's so good. It's so much better. Likely. I love the original, like flawed as it is, but like they really stepped up their game on

this one, and it makes me really excited for Octopath three. Like I think Octopath three might be like the potential of what this game, like, what the series could be like really envisioned. And I really hope that they to you that. Yeah, I hope. So I'm very curious to see what they learned from this game. You know, I can only assume there will be an Octopath three at this point, I hope. I feel like that's becoming a flagship title for for that team, um if not already one

for that team. So considering how well this one praised it was really I know Champions of comtinents really successful, like they're actually I've been seeing Japanese updates like for them to cross over because I think Champions of Content takes place in like ors Tera, which is where like the first game takes place and this one is taking place, or like they're doing an update to where it goes

over to Celestia. Okay, so like I think Octobac's gonna be around for a while, and like they got that got some money, and like I've playing Champions of Content Continent like a little bit. I think after or I be Optopath two, I'm going to like have that itch to where I'm going

to try and play again. I have that same issue where you have it where like it's hard to play more than one mobile game and it's yeah, and I still like I don't religiously play Fire Up the Heroes, but like I'm so invested that like I can't stop playing it, right, And it's even if it's just for like doing dailies, it's still just adding another one to the plate, just like good yeah, yeah, yeah, But I feel like I'm going to have so much of an itch that I'm going to

want to like play Champions of the comment um if only to get like a daily dose of like Optopath soundtrack in my life. I really got to say, as much as I love the soundtrack in the first game, the more I listen to the soundtrack from the second game, it just blows it out of the water completely, Just like it's fucking wild because I love the soundtrack from the first game, but the second game. Every time I might talk about this game, I'm just like, this game is so fucking good.

It's I love it and like seeing it come like seeing it all together, I'm just like, this is worth it. It's a really long game. Like I think my playtime right now is one hundred and fifty hours. That sounds now ranted. I don't know how much of it is like just me, like, I'm sure rob could probably be in an under one hundred hours, but there's a lot, there's a lot of content there. Whenever you finish that half that for me, we'll see. So if you're one fifty,

if you finish it sixty, I'll finish it in eighty. You'll probably play at two times speed, which try to not oh it always it will stay on two times speed fast Forward takes me out of the game. Man, what if you if you're always in fast forward, that becomes your new normals can't be taken out of the game. If that's awesome. Well, the only games where I do that are the Bravely game because normal is so

slow. It is laughably slow. It is hilariously slow. But if I told you every game is hilariously slow until you get a terrible but soul Soul hickers too. It's got it's got the uh it's got the fast battle and auto battle. I need both, but uh so so yeah, I hope to roll credits on that soon once I'm done with the final boss, and then I'll just do a little bit of clean up. I would like to

try and platinum the game. I think I'm relatively close to doing that, and then you have to go out of your wayfower platinum, I feel like or is it just like pretty fair? I don't think so, Like I haven't looked at all the trophies. Does I try to avoid spoilers for sure? Um, but like I'm already in like fifty percent okay, um, so so we'll see, we'll see um after that though, it's it's Final

Fantasy sixteen. Time planned to hop on the demo, uh, and then I plan to hop on the main game we're going to I know, I know, I was playing Zelda for a bit, but Zelda, I feel, is going to take me a lot longer and I want to be a part of the Final Fantasy conversation. So right now my plan is bas is sixteen, Zelda and then Trails Reverie. So my next three games are pretty

much picked out. I will probably while I'm playing Zelda and Trails of Reverie play like some short indie titles, so I have content for you guys, because like it's otherwise that she shouldn't be like, yeah, I'm still playing this Game's game really fucking long, still in the mind, still playing the game. But that is my my focus for the next three games, as it were, is Final Fantasy sixteen, Zelda, and Trails from Reverie, because god Dan, we're not falling behind on Trails games again. M hmm.

Please. No, I don't want to get to a point where I like got the Binge three games, because that is that is exhaustion that as much as I love the series, I also played into our frustrations with cold Steel. Yeah, yeah, that's just cold steel. Steel shut that down. Well, I mean, Rob's right, like, I'm not gonna We've thought about that long enough. It's it's it's just cold Steff cold Steel. One day we'll have that neat Dive episode on there, once I have the

time to edit the first one and then you go through it. But that's still it's still intended. I'm still done. So those are my video game plans some time being that I'll have more Street Fighter of course. Hell yeah, good deal. Um. On my side of things, I have a little bit of a list here, so bear with me, y'all. I'm gonna take up a little bit of your time. Um. I have completed two video games games of the last recording. Yeah, completed two, and

I've played like three more. It's actually insane. Oh wow, Um, I know what is happening. So just to set the stage, not video game related, but it will be related. I have watched Across the Spider Verse like five times already. I just don't need to watch it the first time. Let me know when you want to go, Ryan, I will watch it but a six time whenever you're free. I love that movie to death. It is probably not even probably it is my favorite animated movie of

all time. Um And and every time I watch it is like watching it for the first time again. UM So, if you're down, like if you want to go, you know, mid day before I go to work, or if you want to go like next week and or something, if you let me know, um I will. I will go with you. I have to figure it out. Yep, but let's figure it out. Um any money first though, because it was like, yeah, I'm broke right now, so true, very true mood that is. That is the

biggest fucking mood right now. Um So with that being said, um after my after my second viewing of Spider Verse, I went home and immediately downloaded Myles Morales the follow up to Spider Man on PS fourth, P. Five Right. It was a game that had been meaning to get to um for the past what two years that it's been out. Um And with Spider Man two coming later this year, it is required playing before you play the second game. So I was like, while I'm in this this Miles Morale's headspace,

right, let me jump into this game. It's not very long, like I played through it over the course of I think like three days, um total, like eight or nine hours um. And that's with like eighty percent completion. UM. So it is a very quick, very small game. But it's also like a packed game, Like I don't feel like it's wasted my time or anything. It has like just enough amount of like side side content UM, like the challenges that you would find in the base game,

like to have like the right amount of those in there. Um. It's just a really tight knit story centered around miles. Um. It's fantastic. UM. I won't get into like story spoilers. I know, Drew, you haven't played it yet, right, UM, I highly recommend getting to it when you can. Again, it is a very quick play UM. But I was, I was really blown away by it. UM. And I think I like it more than the first game. Like I'm still kind of like in between on it. I don't know which one I like

more. But it definitely left me in a place by the end of that game where like I felt kind of empty on the inside. I was definitely going through emotions in the same way that like the first game put me through emotions, But something about it just hit harder and I can't really explain it. It's fucking great the way that they do Miles's venom powers and how that adds. Still, overall combat feels nice and smooth. I forgot how fun the web swaging is in that game. It is just like God, it

is the only open world game that I don't fast travel in. Like, let that sink in because we just went over the fact that I will put turbo on a game, like I will fast travel in the game, like don't let don't make me walk anywhere. I hate that shit. Put this game. I'm just like having a blast just moving through the space and I'm just like, God, this this is just perfect. It is just fucking

perfect. Chefs kiss just wow, amazing, um awesome, ost like it is what you would would expect out of Miles Morales's game, right you have like that hip hop vid um and everything just like hits perfectly great. Via VA's the voice acting was was phenomenal across the board. Um. So definitely when you guys get a chance to check that out. Um again, it's required before you play the second game, So clock's kind of ticking because I

think that comes out and what November something like that. I want to like Doctober early November. Yeah, did you said too soon? Yeah, that's that's too Yeah right around the corner man. Um. So, so hop on that when y'all can, because I would love to do like a spoiler cast on that at some point. I really want to break down story, story, beats on it. I have not played The Spider Man, so I just never have gotten around to it. I think you would really enjoy

a man um if you ever get around. I've ever played in a video game? Yeah, Um, they're on PC now too. Like I played Miles Morales on PC. It runs great, fantastic pcportum. So like if you catch him on a sale or something like that. Um, definitely a play when you get a chance. I think you'll get a really good kick out of it. Um. Moving on from that, another game that I completed. I completed Zelda Tears the Kingdom. I will not spoil Tears the

Kingdom. Um. I will for respect of Drew. I will probably record a separate thing to get into Tears the Kingdom because I need to scream about this fucking video game. Um, even if it's the scream to myself. I need to scream into the void of out this video game. Um it is just some like high level things. UM. I think it is the strongest story that they have told. Now I have not played Skywood Sword, as Drew will point out, UM, I know he holds that to a

very high bar. Um And and I'm willing to believe you on that, but I want you to understand that, like pretend that that that I am staring you deep into your eyes right now. UM. This story blew me the fuck away. And I mean that in every word. I mean that, um it went places I did not think they would dare to go. Um It committed to things that I did not think they would commit to. Uh. And at the very end, I was left feeling like y'all earned

this. This is fucking fantastic. Um it's it has my favorite final boss fight uh that I've played in like Twite some time, and it reminds me on the level of like a from Soft game and that like it's not like super difficult or anything like that, but it is challenging enough to where like when you beat like eight Phase, it is like I feel good or like you get into like the zone right like we talked about like the end of

Metroid dread right where it's like you're learning the patterns and then you just have like that that clean run and it just feels really fucking good when you do it like that is this Like it was beating my ass for like two hours and then like I just entered the fucking flow state and I was like, this is fucking sick. I came out the other end of like, bro, I want more fights like this. It was so fucking cool. Um it is. It is my favorite interpretation of link Zelda and Gannendorff. Um

there, Oh my god, I love them to fucking death. Um. I think the music in this game is fantastic. Like there's there's a lot more going on in this game than there was a Breath of the Wild right um, and and it shows um like I can't I can't get into much more spoiler stuff, but just just know that I had a kind of a rocky time with this game overall, because like when I first started playing it, I was like, it's good, but is it just more Breath of

the Wild. Like I was very conflicted at first, Like I was having a good time, but I wasn't sure if like I really love it. And then I kind of crossed it. I kind of turned a corner on it right after a certain point. I was like, No, what they

have here is like a really good tool set. Um. And even though that there's some puzzles that I think is kind of cheapened by this tool set that they give you, uh, it is still really cool what they have put together and what you're allowed to do within the space that they've created. UM. And then like I hit a certain beat and I was like, no, this is the best thing ever. UM. I don't know if this game is my game of the year, but it is definitely in that

uh that that that contest, like it's gonna be close. Um. It's going to be a game that I think about for a very long time. UM. It is a game that I am very curious to see where they go from here. Like I know Alan Numa said that like, hey, he wants to play with this formula more. Um now that they're getting a better feel for it, and that's cool. UM. I like the direction that they're going. UM. And as long as they keep taking in feedback, UM, I have faith in them to like keep putting together like a

better product as they keep going. UM. So whenever you guys get get a chance people that are listening, Drew whoever, um, whenever you guys finished here as the Kingdom, let me know what y'all think of it, because I really want to talk like in depth about this game and what it does, and it is not a perfect game. I do want to want to state that I do have complaints about this game, um, largely with like I do think the controls are messy. UM. I do think like

the UI and UX is pretty clunky. Right. Um. There there are moments where I am like actually throwing a weapon and I meant to like switch to like a different power or a tool, and I'm just like ahh you know, um, but all the all all those things are just like very

minor. It's just like it is very easy to just like push that aside and then just come back to a space of just like I'm having so much fun in this world and like uncovering like the lore of this world that isn't being like directly told to me. It's just like they do a great job of environmental storytelling in a way that like elden Ring did in some aspects. Right, Um, I know, Drew, you got a chance to like

at least know about the underground stuff. UM. And it's like that that part is like my favorite parts of that game because it's such a miss three and they didn't hype that up at all during during the Previo League stuff, and I'm just like, bro, this is some of the coolest shit down

here. And when you feel realize like how that connects to everything in the overworld and like what the history behind all of it is, I'm just like, they really put together a really amazing world here and it feels like believable, it feels lived in. Um you can feel the history that is there and how it impacts like the present. Very cool stuff. Very very surprised by what they did with that game. UM. So it's going to be

something that I go back to. UM. I want to not necessarily a hundred percent, but I do. I would like to do a lot of the side adventures in that game. So they break down like different tiers of side quests. So like every main quest, you have side quests, and then you have what's called side adventures, which are essentially side quests, but they have more of a storyline to them, Like typically they're following like a

specific character and their story arc um. So I would like to at least go through all of those because I do think there's some interesting stuff there and that often leads you to different places in the map that you wouldn't normally think to go to, and that is pretty fascinating, Like how this game kind of guide you along is really cool and expertly crafted, and a lot of that stuff ties into the main plot as well as like a guiding star that

I think is really interesting too. I'll get through all that stuff probably over the course of the year because that game is very because a lot to it. It's it's actually insane how much shit is in that game. But it's gonna be a fun game to just like poke around in like thirty minutes here, an hour here before I go to sleep or something like that, go through all the shrines and YadA YadA. So that is my my light review of Tears of the Kingdom. It is like, in my opinion, I

don't I can't even put a number on it. It's just fucking fantastic. It's just fucking fantastic. Out of ten out of ten um I. Upon completing Tears of the Kingdom, I moved on to his gonna play Chronicles three again. I will not spoil it out of respect for Drew because he will kill me three times over. No, no, well you're gonna hear this disclaimer a lot. Um yeah, as gonna say that? Should I just

recorded and put it on repeat? I know, right? I mean, I've played all these games when I can't say a damn thing about him because Drew will fucking kill me. Put that on a sound for it, please, Um that's funny. But um, I already know how many chapters are in this game. Um. With that in mind, I know that I am approximately fifty to sixty percent through this game. Um, so I am one track for beating this game before sixteen drops. Um it. This is

a game that I really really like. Um it's it's blowing me away in in ways that I didn't think before. Like the story tone is much more my thing than any of than like zaa Play Chronicles too. I really like the tone of Zenna Plachronicles one, especially like the opening segments of that game. Um, and was not present, No, it wasn't. And I mean I will saying praises of Zama Play two like I do love that game. But I also have a lot of crisis. We we we've been down

this this road a thousand times. Um. But but three definitely hits a tone that is like very rib core and I'm like, oh baby, um, and it's there are moments as I'm playing through it, and this is mostly through like side content because like I'm I'm going through it quickly, but I'm also not like skipping out on some of the more important like side quests and story stuff as well. Right Like I'm trying to make sure that while I get through it quickly, that I still have a very full plate,

you know what I mean. Um, And some of that side stuff kind of took me out of the tone a little bit. Um. But but it's cool because it's not like it gives you like a sense of relief. Um. But it definitely went in places that I'm like, I wasn't necessarily expecting for what they set up, but it's still good stuff. Um. It was just like kind of shocking. I'm like, oh, it's there's

some light, harder moments here too. That's cool. Um. But then when I get back to the main pass and I'm like, oh yeah, um, so so it's hitting all the notes that it needs to hit again.

I really love the cast of this, this this game of from jump in and even now that we're starting to learn more about them and some of them are starting to have like their character arcs come to fruition um and and really get a good look at who they are and then and how they're growing as we're playing through the game, um makes me love them even more. The battle mechanics, as per a Enna Blade game, just keeps getting bigger

and bigger and bigger as you play through it. Even though you're halfway through the game, mechanics are still unlocking. That is not any different here, and every element that they add on to the system is cool. Yeah. I right before we did this recording, something unlocked for me and I was just like, oh, this completely fills out this fucking this chain of tax system that we have here. Dope, it puts a nice little bow at the end of it, and I'm like, now this whole system makes fucking

sense. And it went from being oh this is neat too, I really like it. I'm so refreshing to hear good things about this game. I mean, yeah, people can have some people who strike different things, you know what I mean? But yeah, it's it's great. Um. I do really like the music as well, like it is what you would expect

out of a Zenna Blade game. The the cut scenes are really well done, Like they're really well animated allah like us in a Blay Chronicles too, like if you saw the end of every chapter in that game, Like you get some really cool moments in this game too, um, and that that's very exciting, very hype when they happen. So um, great game out of ten. I will I will complete it by next recording and then have final thoughts on that and then maybe scream into a void at some point on

that as well. UM. I don't think I'll hop immediately into the DLC because again, sixteen drops and then we have Jamari whenever I can get to that. But also other games are dropping too, so it's like I'll get to that eventually. Um, But for right now, I'm just focusing on the Bass game. UM. So some quick hits here. I did try

the Lies of P demo for anybody that don't don't remember Eliza. P. Was that very dark like Pinocchio, dark souls style game, leg very blood born esthetic um and and and like mechanically and like it's it's aggressive in the way that like blood Poton is aggressive, right, Like it is one that I can't hide behind a shield all day. Um, I have to be active and that scares me. Um. But the game is very cool, Like I love the aesthetics. I love the world that I set up here.

The demo gives you, like the first two or three chapters, it's pretty meaty, like it's a good liked two three, maybe four ish hours, depending on whether or not you get stuck on a box and stuff like that, or if you want to try different weapon types. Um My, only it plans as you would expect, like it is very much mechanically a Souls game, right you have there are one light attack, there are too heavy attack, like the stealth attacks work the same way. Everything is the

same, um. The only real difference and the only thing that feels off is the dodge. Like the dodge feels kind of weak and that sucks. Um. I can't really get a good feel for it, like you don't. It's a very short dodge. You have a very small window of voll. It feels like, um, but I know at the end of this demo they you you get kind of like an upgraded dodge that they don't let

you play around with. That kind of extends it a little bit more, and hopefully when we get the full game that makes it feel a little better. But that threw me off for a little bit. But other than that, it is what you what you see. It is a Souls game with a Pinocchio storyline that has a blood une esthetic. It's very cool. I think it's very cool. I'm excited for it. Um give it a look.

See demo is up on Steam. Um. It does come to game Pass, so if you're a game Pass subscriber, you're going to get it in September when it drops. Um At. I think in like chapter two you get a grapple hook, which is kind of fun, right, so like you can just hook enemies towards you, which is very fun. Um So yeah, cool game meat game. Um. I tried the Final Fantasy sixteen demo. Uh, Brian, you can hit the sound board. Uh. I was going the story spoilers because Drew will kill me four times over

the Final Fantasy sixteen demo. Yeah no, you cannot talk about this. Yeah, just say that you played it and we'll move on. Okay, all right. I mean you can talk about it the hesitation now very very much so, because I want you to just experience most of it. Um. I was I'll say this. I'll say this um tomorrow if if for people that like Devil May Cry, this is double Mate Cry, Like this is Double Mate Cry five. I want to be specific. There is a

lot that I did not expect was in this game. Like I've seen gameplay previews of this game like at packs, right, and I'm like, oh, this looks like a cool action game, right, and it does have like the combat designer of DMC on this game, right, So it's like, oh, it's going to feel good after you beat the demo and unlocks a separate challenge called the Icon Challenge, and that basically gives you control of Clive like at like a midpoint through the game where you unlock where you have

like more abilities, right, Because the beginning of this demo starts you off in the beginning of the game because you're saved data carries over to the main game, so they give you like the first hour and a half to two hours of the game, and you have like your very basic move set and it's very cool you could do a lot with that move I'm just gonna say, you could do a lot with the basic move set. Um. But when you play the icon and challenge, you're like, oh, you motherfucker's

just created Devil May Cry five. And I will leave that at that. Um. You know, I'm very fucking cool. Um. I'm always been in the minority. Final Fantasy sixteen was something that really was not gauging my interest. Um. I was going to flat out skip it. Um. But you mentioning that the battle system is pretty similar to that, and Double May Cry five is like one of to me, like one of the best

action games ever made. Um, kind of swam me, kind of swam me a little bit, Ryan, go download the demo and try it out. That would be that it would be the first time. It will be the first time that I booted up my PS five and like seven months saying, actually my PS five was at Ashle's house for the last five months. Um, and then I went to go get it just to play sixteen and it's probably just gonna go back to this because I don't use it. Um. And I was just very blown away by that fact, Like I knew

it would be action based. I knew we had a very good combat designer on it, and I knew it was going to be influenced by like Double May Cry because they had aspects of it. I did not know this was going to actually just fucking be Double May Cry. And that's very sick. That is pretty sick. Um. I went into this demo excited for sixteen. I was breathless. I could not find the words. When I got to the point where the game was like, preorder the game now the demos

over, I was like, I'm all in. I can't believe yoship is allowed to do this. So I'm just gonna say this, having not played the demo, having not like really even looked at a trailer like I might have seen a trailer because a direct or whatever force watching it. Um, this is the first Final Fantasy game I've actively been excited about since like ten, Like where I was like they announced the new Final Fantasy game and I was like, holy shit, we have a new Final Fantasy game. What

the fuck? Like that is what? Like I just knew there was something like primal in me that just knew. When I watched the first Final Fantasy sixteen trail, I'm like that I want that. I don't care what that is, but I want that it's and that has stayed true. It's crazy because like I'm always excited for a new Final Fantasy. I love I love the series, two Deaths, I really really do love all of them.

Um, but when when they announced sixteen, and it's like UCP, Like when they when they announced a team on it, Right, I already knew because through fourteen, right, like, I already know we're in for an excellent fucking story. We're in for a great game. And when they started announcing like who's doing the combat design, soakins on the music, I'm just

like, Oh, this is going to be a fucking fantastic game. And then you see like that first initial trailer and you get like the tone of it, you hear that it's going to be like an emimated game for the first time, you're like, oh, they're doing some things. This is cool, this looks interesting. I was not prepared for what I witnessed in that game. And it's everything they use. It is smart, it is great, it is fantastic storytelling. So far, it left me very interested

to see where the fuck this goes. So that is where I'm at with f sixteen. I will probably scream into avoid about this game at some point the because holy fuck, that left me in a place, and the weekend cannot come fast enough because I probably won't have that much time to play it when they dropped on Thursday. Um so yeah, sorry, it is a

Thursday release, isn't it. It's convenient because I have to wait. I took the day off to drive down the CEO, but the guy I'm driving down with doesn't get off until four, So I'm like, well, oh, I guess what I'm doing. Yeah, I get it. Get a couple of hours in there, my damn right. Hell yeah, I won't be able to play it again until Monday. But I have Monday off, and guess what I'm doing on Monday? Binge that I fucking play involving sixteen.

Mother plumber about it? Good good, I'll have it beat by that. Uh. I'm very curious to see how long this game is. Um. There was a fun little story that came out right right beforehand where ESP was commenting on the development. Uh, and we all know that fund Face seven Rebirth is gonna be on two discs. It's fucking wild. That's mine model but up until about six months ago, there was the danger that this

game was going to be on two discs um. And then and then they found a way to trim it to fit on one, and that is crazy. That's to me, my old man, Like, um, there's already not enough storage on a PS five, So right, I'm kind of curious, like, oh, my Sony PlayStation five is basically a final Fantasy machine. I mean, that's let's be real. That's what we bought them for anyway. Yeah, that's what we bought that ship for anyway. Yeah,

Square n X owns our consoles. Um, but that's that. Um, I haven't a little thing that's talked about, but I'm not going too I'll talk about that next time. It's fine, I've been talking for too long. I don't want Drew to kill me. Uh So with that being said, let's let's hop out of here. Let's let's let's get back to the things that we've been doing. Boh, I haven't you know played Depete, So let's let's let's let's wrap up, Ryan Rob where can people find you?

Your wonderful stuff? The Twitter verse? I guess our CB underscore draws that's my uh, basically my art account. Um, basically, uh, sharing all my artwork that I have made and uh, you know, basically if you want to check out any of that, um, you know, you can just go on Twitter, r CB Underscore Draws. UM. I'll

kind of plug the online store more time for stickers and prints. If you guys want to check it out, it's RCB Draws dot com, road dot com um, and you'll see everything there as far as the Princeton stickers go. If you guys want to purchase any of that and support, that'd be great. I would appreciate it. Um or even just sharing out the link, just telling people about it, that really really helps too. Um So um, just definitely if you can just share that. But yeah, mainly

It's gonna be that Tony Hawk meme. Oh lord, So you know that, that's where you can find me at um if you if you find my grave there, there's some JSB stickers.
