Welcome back to 12 Days of Chaos. This is day three here on the Joy Living Home podcast. If you are a new listener and you've suddenly discovered this on day three, go back. There's a one and a two that helps explain it. Also, the normal topics that I cover are cleaning, not cleaning, excuse me, productivity planning and organizing for the ADHD mom. You are welcome to be a listener, whether you're a mom or not,

whether you're diagnosed ADHD or not. If you just want to hear a different take on the traditional type A organizing world, that is not me. Then jump in and enjoy. But just focusing, because I'm trying to keep these short, I want to talk a little bit about our day three. So this whole 12 Days of Chaos is based on the song 12 Days of Christmas, the whole partridge in a pear tree thing, and we're doing that fun repetition as we count our way through, I have a PDF that goes with this.

To get the PDF, you can join my free podcast community. It is bit.ly slash joylovinghomecommunity. Show notes will have a link there. I'm going live each day. I'm saying, hey, let's set our five-minute timer and let's do this together. You can download the PDF and the files there and you can follow along. So because today is day three, I have on the PDF, I'm regretting it now, but that's okay. You know what? You learn as you go, guys. And I was doing a quick brainstorm

and I wanted to get that PDF out to you. And so it is what it is. Mine says three clean toilets. I should have said three clean bathrooms, not meaning in five minutes you're going to clean three bathrooms, meaning three spots in a bathroom. So today in the group when I went live, because I'm targeting going live around noon each day, again, target, not perfection.

I just set the timer for five minutes and I started with my powder room because that is the bathroom that you are going to be most embarrassed by. If random people who don't know you well enough are popping in or popping out of your home, that is the one most frequently guests would go to, even if you know them well.

That is the place that you want to be in in the best shape so start there I did my three spaces were mirror sink and toilet and in I actually beat my timer by 22 seconds if you don't believe me jump into my group you can go look at the live today you can watch it on replay anytime you know get your bathroom supplies gathered hit play and do it with me. But that bathroom will be great. And then tomorrow when I do the countdown,

I will visit a different bathroom because it doesn't need clean back-to-back days. You could. You could go wipe, you know, a Clorox wipe through it just to make sure it stays nice. And in the 22 seconds I had to spare, that could work. So anyway, you don't have to repeat a single bathroom until you've hit all the bathrooms in your house. That might be two bathrooms. That might be seven bathrooms.

I don't know what your house is like. but just keep doing it on repeat for the rest of these 12 days of Christmas and it's still going to feel like things are in some semblance of holding on while all of the rest of the chaos happens around you. So again, because we're day three, we're starting with three clean spots in a bathroom, two fluffy pillows, which means go back and get that bed made. Again, five minute timer.

I had Jessica, shout out to you, Jessica, watching live yesterday while I was doing it and my timer didn't go off because it didn't get set. And she told me I actually had three minutes to spare. So I made my bed in two minutes. And if something like that happens, keep working until your timer goes off. Dust a lamp, straighten up a nightstand, see if you can find the top of your dresser. Just work in each of these spaces for the five minutes you're allotting yourself.

So today it was three clean bathrooms, two fluffy pillows, and my partridge as a pear tree have been stumbling over what I'm saying. I'm now going to start saying consistently, check out. On your so that schedule. And if you don't know what a so that schedule is. Listen to day one of this. But we're going to go, the reason I wanted to make this number one, one is I wanted us to have the whole reason behind everything happening as we go through our Christmas season.

But two, because we are famous for creating lists and schedules and notes and then walking off without them or never looking at them again or never opening that planner that you spent an hour creating. So each day we're going to glance back at that schedule, look at what was happening today, maybe glance at tomorrow in case there's anything you need for tomorrow that you don't have with you today. So that's it. I'm trying to keep these right at five minutes.

I hope you're enjoying them. Again, peek in the show notes for links to join the free podcast group or jump into my membership group, whatever works for you. I will also kindly ask that if you'd love to give me a gift this Christmas, I would love a review. It means so much to the success of the podcast. And it is just, it is sincerely the best way that I can read your thoughts and continue with this podcast in a way that you are wanting from me.

It is funny because YouTube, you get immediate comments back in the bottom. Instagram, you get immediate comments back in the bottom. As a podcaster, there's no immediate feedback unless you put in the effort to go find and create a review. So if you want to give me that gift of your time and your thoughts, I would be ever so grateful. All right. Until next time, continue to choose joy.
