Let us read once more from Isaiah, verse 15. "The Spirit is poured out on us from heaven, then the wilderness will become a fertile field. And the fertile field will yield bountiful crops. Justice will rule in the wilderness and righteousness in the fertile field. And this righteousness will bring peace. Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever. My people will live in safety quietly at home, they will be at rest." When the Spirit of the Lord is poured out, we become who we were created to be; people of justice and righteousness, people of quiet confidence, people of peace, our souls are at rest. This is the way of our being in Christ. In Christ, we can begin to learn the way of our being in him. So let us devote ourselves to the one who devoted himself to us and has given us the gift of the Spirit. The Spirit has been poured out on you and has given you the life. You were made for. righteousness, justice, peace, quiet confidence, and rest are yours. Amen.
