You're listening to the Journal Party Podcast, where every week we get together for the ultimate journal jam sesh as we journal through life together as a community. My name's Alex Gallner and I'll be your host, so here's how it works. I'll give you a journal prompt in a groove and you just start writing. After a few minutes, you'll hear a little bell that sounds like this. And we'll move on to the next prompt. After a couple minutes, you'll hear that bell again.
And we'll move on to the next prompt and we'll just keep going on like that until we're finished. Feel free to write on whatever you like, or even just follow along in your car. If you finish before the bell, you can try to dig deeper and elaborate, or just chill out and enjoy the tunes. Don't overthink it. There's no wrong way to do this. So, welcome to the party. Journal party. What's up, party people?
I just got back from beautiful La Jolla, California, where I'm actually getting married next March. It was pretty nice, I gotta say. I tasted some cakes, I did a little walkthrough of the venue, all with my partner, and it got me thinking a little bit about commitment. The things that we commit to in our lives. Speaking of that, this is also the 99th episode of the Journal Party Podcast. That means I've done this 99 weeks in a row. So that's also commitment.
Whether it's a partner or a passion project, commitment is an important part of life. That's why today we're going to be jamming through five journal prompts to explore and deepen our understanding of commitment. So go ahead and open up that journal and let's get this party started. Here comes prompt number one. Reflect on a significant commitment you've made. What led to that decision and how did you feel at the time? How has this commitment influenced your life and personal growth?
Prompt number two. Think about someone or something you're committed to right now. What drives your commitment and how do you demonstrate it regularly? Reflect on the positive impacts this commitment has had on your life. Prompt number three. Recall a commitment that was difficult to maintain. What challenges did you face and how did you address them? If you couldn't keep the commitment, what valuable lessons did you learn from the experience? Prompt number four.
Consider your feelings about long term commitments. Do you have any fears or reservations? What excites you about the prospect of committing to something or someone over a long period? Prompt number five. Imagine your life five years from now. What commitments do you envision making and how will they shape your future? Write a detailed description of what your life looks like with these commitments in place. Great job party people!
