I just got back from a little business trip up to San Francisco and while it was an absolute blast and I got a ton of work done . I couldn't help but notice the disparity between the people on the streets and the cozy tech lifestyle that I'd become a part of .

While I was accommodated , with charter flights , comfy hotel beds , japanese toilets and fridges stocked with all sorts of fancy caffeinated beverages to keep us going on our Zoom meetings , there were people out there , cold and wet , on the streets , just suffering , and it wasn't much better when I got back to LA .

Now , I was a little reluctant to do an episode like this , because the last thing that I want to do is make Journal Party political , and I'm not sure if the answer to all this is political , social or economic .

And I'm not sure if the answer to all this is political , social or economic , and it's probably a complicated mix of all three well outside the scope of a guided journaling podcast .

That said , regardless of your stance on any of this stuff , I think we can all agree that it would be useful to look within ourselves and explore how we might be able to make a difference as individuals . That's why , today , we're going to be jamming through five journal prompts to explore compassion and personal impact . So if that sounds groovy to you .

Go ahead and open up that journal and let's get this party started . Here comes prompt number one . Let's reflect on privilege . Think about the privileges you enjoy in your daily life , big or small . How do these privileges affect your view of the world and your interactions with others ?

Write down ways you might use your privileges to positively impact those around you . Thank you , thank you . Prompt number two Consider a time when you witnessed someone in a difficult situation . How did it make you feel and what thoughts went through your mind ?
