My name is Alex Gallner and I'll be your host , so here's how it works . I'll give you a journal prompt in a groove and you just start writing .

After a few minutes , you'll hear a little bell that sounds like this and we'll move on to the next prompt . After a couple minutes , you'll hear that bell again and we'll move on to the next prompt , and we'll just keep going on like that till we're finished . Feel free to write on whatever you like , or even just follow along in your car .

So far , so good over here , just trying to live in the moment and not just absentmindedly overeat all the delicious food and drink that just seems to be everywhere . Now , don't get me wrong .

I'm grateful for all the goodies , but I've been known to overdo it , so I'm trying to pay attention and enjoy everything to the fullest instead of just unconsciously consuming everything . For me , that's mostly an issue with food . For others it's TV , social media , video games . All these things are great when you're actually present to experience them .

Welcome back to the Journal Party Podcast . I'm Alex Gallner , and today we're diving into a topic that's both timely and timeless Mindful consumption . In our fast-paced world where information , products and experiences are constantly at our fingertips , it's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of consumption .

That's why today we're going to be jamming through five journal prompts to explore our consumption patterns , sometimes called a mouthwash , their effects and the journey towards more mindful choices . Which of these do you feel are truly beneficial and which might be mere indulgences ? A Alright . Here comes problem number two . Reflect on the emotional triggers that might influence your consumption . Do you eat or shop out of stress , boredom or joy . Find the emotions behind the choices . Check out the trata de de ovo . Here comes prompt number three .

Think about the environmental impact of your consumption habits . Are there choices you make that might be taxing on the planet ? How can you make more eco-friendly decisions ?
