It's beautiful day here in San Diego and I thought on today's podcast that share with you, what I call the zero hunger Soul, which is really about helping us realize that Sometimes When We crave sweets and today's that day, a lot of us will be having two pumpkin pie, apple pie cherry pie, carbs, potatoes, all that and none of that is bad if we have it with some proteins and healthy fats, but the problem is a lot of times the holidays and this is kickoff.
Off. Now to 2021 holidays Thanksgiving is that we get a little stress, you get a little lonely. We get a little sad or maybe we gather with friends and family and then at the end of the meal, we just end up overeating sweets, because we're going to depart and head back home and maybe we live alone and that loneliness inside, can cause us to win and numb, and it's not our fault that sugar and carbs, help numb pain. It's been scientifically shown that Sugar can be as addictive
as certain hard. Like heroin and it numbs us. That is why we're addicted to that and no one's over eating protein today. Right guys, as much as well have turkey, it sounds like something you got to worry about and it's not going to raise your insulin doesn't numb you and it doesn't cause weight gain. But again, does numb you. So there's a reason why we don't go after it. So on today's show we're going to talk about how we can.

gratitude. Food is the key that turns down a sense of hunger in our heart and it's not our fault for me. I grew up you guys know my story, but I had a very traumatic childhood. I wasn't allowed to be who I was and my family negatively. Reinforced me, my grandmother who raised me physically and not that it was abusive, but it was definitely traumatic. And regardless, for me, the way
I think I survived that. And I think all of us, survived that no matter what our childhood or adulthood is, is we Try to minimize the pain. And so there are certain things out there that numb pain that can tell you. It's not protein, it's not fat. But out of all the foods that we can, ingest the turns down pain carbohydrates is the number one.
If it's the only thing that will numb us and carbs do that carbohydrates, whether it's couscous, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie or straight up sugar. All those things help us feel better. To give us a sugar high, that's why it's called code for food, right guys? So it's not our fault that out. Thanksgiving. We probably are thinking more about the mashed potatoes to stuffing in the pumpkin pie that
we are about the turkey. Now, the turkey is made out of protein fats, it's not going to. Number six is has no, there's no comfort in that. It's something that helps build muscle helps restore our health, but it doesn't help with us. So now, is that bad? It is if that's the only Outlet. So what I want to share with you right now is what I call zero hunger. Soul and it's a way through prayer to really utilize higher power of your choosing to give

Sometimes in our heart, we are sad and whatever the situation is, we can Linger on the mess that maybe happen to us when we were younger, or we can think of a message to strengthen Us in today's moment and I'm more into the thinking that if we do the second thing about really just utilizing what happened there, not try to change the past because we can't but to really see it in a lens through what I would call God's perspective, this lens of God's perspective
is what gives us this grace and gives us comfort. So we don't become hate to call it slaves to carbs because so many of us and I was one of these guys that through my 20s and 30s for the Part, I couldn't stop overeating sugar and carbs and had fight it when I was younger with just shame.
And as I got older, it was just going to the gym for hours and hours, and now at 50, I go to the gym, as I love it, it's good mental health, but I don't use it as a way to out train a poor diet and so let's do this guy's on this Thanksgiving. I want you two to join me in a simple prayer. You can just listen to the words. You can replay this, please share it with your loved ones, especially if they're struggling with addictions to sugar.

We remember to give thanks for all that we have from the beating of our heart to our loved ones to the The food on the table and we especially ask you God from freedom from self-will. And we are so careful, God, to make sure that we make no request for ourselves and less. It can help others. We're here to provide maximum service to our loved ones into those that we encounter. beautiful day. And for this time to reflect with loved ones today about how lucky we are to be alive. And your name, amen.
